I met with Jim Ross himself for my initial consultation. He is a straight shooter and delivered every promise made to me in that room. If you value your time, avoid bringing your problems here. I have had my divorce forgotten about three times now. Twice was because the attorney or paralegal no longer works there . It takes months for any progress to be make at all and you will need to call to remind them you exist. On top of that they will charge you a monthly admin fee, charge you for calling even after three months of no communication on two separate occasions. I have also called and paid my bill just to receive the same exact bill a week later again, with no progress being made. Every time I speak to someone new because they have turn overs and it is more of a headache to deal with my attorneys than the courts. If I knew any of this before I would have gone a different route. It s unbelievable they are allowed to conduct business and treat their clients like this. The office however is well maintained and most of the staff are very friendly. Edit: my ex wife and I have already agreed to everything being done and we just needed the legal actions to be made on our behalf and it has still taken almost a year and a half with the delays caused by this firm. I m not saying anyone else would ve been perfect but I m sure it would ve been better.

I used this law firm five years ago and unfortunately, the attorneys did a poor job of representing my divorce case. During my temporary divorce hearing the original attorney provided no assistance nor direction regarding my decisions on child support so I decided to get another attorney from the firm. BIG MISTAKE. This attorney was more focused on his other bigger cases and devoted little to no time to mine. To make matters worse their legal assistants and staff did not do a good job of returning my calls in a timely manner. I had to make follow up calls and leave messages. I wont be using them again.

Dont expect to get a response if you are a client. Dont expect to be informed about your case, even when you have asked and they havent responded in months. If your attorney leaves the practice and they do send you an email stating your case will be assigned to another attorney within the firm, it wont be. When you send an email and ask which attorney your case has been assigned to, they wont respond. They just will not communicate with clients but they will send a bill each month. My bill was paid each month but I bet theyd respond if it wasnt. If this is the firm you want to retain, please do so. Your experience may be completely different but my experience, as a client was terrible. The opposing party and I were in agreement with the action and the paperwork amounted to a few pages. There is no reason for this action, that was agreed to in January, has not been finalized by the end of August. And, there is no reason for a firm to fail to communicate with a client.

They re own 2 lawyers they get money under the table from different party and as will jim ross will charge you . I recommend don t do the case of your child custody with them most likely you will not get it.

WORST ATTORNEY EVER. Do not go here unless you want you or your loved ones lives ruined. Convinced my husband to take a plea deal because he no longer wanted to fight for him and it s affected him still 8 years later. We needed his help after my husband got released from prison and he REFUSED even after we offered to pay him AGAIN. He was supposed to call the tarrant county probation department and let them know my husband was deported and HE NEVER DID which resulted in my husband being marked as a fugitive when in reality he had gotten deported. This affected his whole immigration process. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF AND NEVER COME HERE! A good option would be Scott Brown in Fort Worth, amazing attorney!

I have dispute with business partners. Jim ross promise me he will deal my case but after receiving retainer money he changed attorney to Gregory write. He doesn t know about any litigation case I explained our story with the document ation so many times but he couldn t able to understand even small things he wasted my money and my time they charged me some months $ 6000 to $ 13000 per month that s ridiculous. I requested to change the attorney to jim ross every day he is busy and traveling to cities aand just they do time passing with the customers and play with our lives. As per my knowledge he doesn t have smart people to work under Jim Ross. Almost my case was 8 months with them one day We had a court date Gregory write was not prepared any thing i got surprised what he is talking with judge is totally I was upset with his performance and finally I got fine of $ 4700 without any reason. Almost I paid $ 60000 to $ 70000 end of the day I got a big loss. They are taking advantage of our emotions and making money from the customers. These are one of the # 1 junk & trash Attorney I have ever seen before. My request to other people is please don t waste u r money & time .

Unfortunately I called for case representation, after speaking to Robert and we agreed to pay the retainer I waited for response but I didnt get anything. They made me loose contact with my other lawyer and then they refused to accept to take my case. I spoke to Robert and he was rude .I asked to speak to someone else but they refused like I had done something to them . This is something that I never experienced before. Unfortunately this so called law group is nothing but a waste of money in my opinion. My lawyer was given every detail needed to help with my case and yet they didnt look into ANY details. They didnt contact my sons therapist, didnt contact cps about the case against my sons father. Absolutely NOTHING was done despite them having everything including$2000 up front. We hired this firm on Jan 19th of 2021, and we passed by 2 lawyers who already left the firm. We have to call and follow them every single steps. If they said they will let you know by a specific date, no response, no email or phone call. Then you have to email, call them multiple times to ask what is the result. During a time where I thought I made the biggest mistake ever and wasn t sure if I had a leg to stand on I decided to googled lawyers near me and came across Jim Ross law group. I received a call right away to schedule a appointment got scheduled and the next day received a call from Terry Turzinski when I say this man knows his stuff that s an understatement he told me exactly what to do and what to say regarding my issues and even told me how the scenario would play out and I received a call today and it was verbatim to what Terry said. Terry took time out of his busy day to explain to me in detail what I needed to do and I am so grateful he did so. He knew taking my case would cost me more and he was upfront and honest and told me what he would do I can do on my own and not have to pay any lawyer fees and again he was absolutely right. Things are now in motion and I am so grateful and appreciative that he took the time to help me and even told me if I have any other questions or concerns I could call him. As a business owner with an online presence myself, I am hesitant to leave negative reviews unless they are a reflection of the company as a whole, and not of one individual representing the company. In the instance case I believe this negative review is more than warranted, and I implore any one reading this to view the photos attached to the review I left on their Facebook page for a fuller and more complete understanding of my experience with the Jim Ross Law Group (Google would not allow my photos on this review for some reason). They validate my one-star review and hopefully deter anyone from making the same mistake that I did. This firm burned through my $3000 retainer in less than a month and did NOTHING in my case. They drummed up billable hours that were either blatantly false or played no part in achieving my legal ends. I am blown away by how poorly this firm handled my time-sensitive issue, as well as their communication skills. I cannot speak for all the glowing reviews on here, but I can definitely relate to and sympathize with all the negative reviews. To be fair.....maybe I just had a bad experience and it is not the norm. But this is a law firm - not a restaurant. Do you really want to take a chance with your legal issues, which in most instances affect the rest of you or your loved ones lives, on a firm that can so easily disregard their duties while deliberately bilking their clients out of their money after failing to follow through on their stated objectives. I again ask that any skeptics or curious individuals who are considering this law firm please view the review I left on their Facebook page to see how this firm interacts with its paying clients. Mr. Ross sounded like a great guy on the phone. He was able to lure me in with my money, and that is hard to do. He looked great on paper and his online presence is what convinced me to go with him. He is running for mayor of Arlington where I live and at first I thought I would vote for him. However, after seeing how he allows his underlings and associates to act so unprofessionally and unscrupulously concerning their duties fiduciary or otherwise even after he was put on notice, I cannot in good conscience trust that he will manage the affairs of my city any different. Not only has Mr. Ross lost my confidence and business (I have hired another firm), but he has lost my vote. Edit: 05/03/21 - Do not fall for their comments to call the office to resolve any issues. You will only get the receptionist who will put you on hold only to come back and tell you that so-and-so is out of the office or on another call. I called everyday for two weeks after they agreed to credit my bill for erroneous charges and overcharges (i.e. they charged me a higher hourly rate then what is in the written contract, among other things) and they - especially the office manager Paige - NEVER return calls or messages despite what they claim on here. Sad and pathetic. Edit: 05/14/21 - After initiating a dispute with CAAP through the State Bar and sending a certified letter to this firm they immediately contacted me and agreed to refund half of my retainer - which is what I requested - with no questions asked. I have altered my rating accordingly.

I am so sorry to say this but this firm let me down. They took my money and we had a couple of meetings, they wrote one letter to which there was a response and then they never did anything else except eat up my retainer scanning documents. I requested Jim over and over because I know he could have made a big difference but instead I was given his not very intimidating associate. Without warning I received an email that my case was closed even though nothing has been resolved and I still need representation. I have called and requested appointments and I am ignored. I have asked for my file back several times and I am ignored. I must admit I am shocked at their poor performance and lack of professionalism.

I have had my case for 11 months with Jim Ross Law group and have not been contacted since paying for my retainer fee. I have had 3 different lawyers at this firm in this time, and each one stated they would give me a call to discuss my case and only once did that ever happen (then that lawyer quit without even telling me). I only even found out my lawyer got changed 3 times because I call every couple of months for an update, just for them to respond by asking who I am and what do I need! There must be internal issues to have lawyers that quit so often. I am just as far as day one with my case, and I am disappointed that I kept having faith in them. I hired this law group about 3 years ago. I never made a review because I was young and naive and thought what they did was somewhat acceptable. I hired them for a cps case. On my court date, I had No idea which lawyer was coming for me. I received a text message from the lawyers assistance saying he was going to be a little late because he was in criminal court. The lawyer ended up showing up 1 hour and 30 minutes late. I was Already receiving back lash from the cps workers threatening to start the case without him because It was unacceptable for him to be late. He didn t do anything for my case. Got less than half of my retainer back. Now that I m older and have worked with my many lawyers now, I understand everything was unacceptable. They have no communication skills, and will embarrass you on your court date.

My experience was regarding a slip and fall accident that I had in a parking lot where someone s car left a trail of oil. As I walked to my car, both feet came out from under me and I landed flat on my back. I literally broke my back that day with an acute fracture in the sacrum part of my spine. At first he seemed positive about the case but then almost a year after my accident he called me and told me we didn t have a case. He said I would have to go after the person who spilled the oil. Now I can t get any cooperation from anybody. He told me he would send a copy of the footage but I never received it. And of course I have about $15,000.00 of medical bills to somehow pay. I don t feel like they even tried or like my case wasn t important enough.

I had high hopes for this firm. I had what should have been an easy case. Jim met with me initially and I never saw him again. I had no clue who was representing me and who to look for on the morning of court. Once we got in, a simple mistake was made by my representing attorney, and unfortunately I overlooked it and signed the documents. This meant that of course, the judge signed it. I was upset because it was going to financially ruin me and I called and called for over a month and NEVER got a response. I sent emails, then called some more. No answer. I called the Attorney Generals office trying to get help from them but they referred me back to my attorney. After 6 months and a financial loss of almost $7k, I filed documents with the attorney generals office to have ANOTHER court hearing to correct the mistake. So I had already paid an attorney several thousand dollars to represent me, then had to pay the county clerks office a fee for representing myself and using their facilities. While I do feel that the blame mostly lies on the attorney that took my case (I take my responsibility for not reading every single page before signing it-lesson learned), I feel like Jim misrepresented himself and his firm. There was not communication. When a client is calling you over and over and begging for help, as the namesake of the company, you would think that he would get involved. What should have cost me a few thousand dollars ended up being closer to ten thousand, but worse than that, it cost my trust in the legal system and this law group all together.

Do NOT use this Law Firm if you have a CPS case. I was not notified of a court hearing and when I asked the attorney Why he said it wasnt important. He refused to request a reset and I later found out the CPS case workers claimed in court that no one was willing to take my son, which was a BIG LIE. Had I been notified, the court would have known I had completed my service plan, and my Aunt and Uncle were lisenced foster parents and APPROVED by Texas ICPS for placement of my son. Instead the court decided to fight for terminations of my rights since CPS claimed there was no one willing to take him, and my son was kept in the foster home of a non relative. I have evidence of this.

Terrible service.. It s likely you ll hear from the billing department more than your assigned lawyer. Speaking of billing, your entire retainer fee will be used for miscellaneous charges (stamps or staples, feeding the meter for other court dates they have, etc.) They tried charging me for a court date I missed due to a car accident that wasn t my fault. When it s all said and done, you ll end up paying doubled what you paid for the retainer fee.

Enter at your own risk. You will hear selling pitches of how the firm will not take more than its clients. They did in my case. You will see Mr. Ross at least once. If you opt for a settlement you will almost never hear from a representative at the firm once a settlement is reached. I can only attest from my experience. In the beginning I was sort of important. That changed very quickly. With an understanding that these issues tend to take time and results often vary due to the rediculous variables of Texas law I cant in good faith of ethics recommend this firm. You would probably be just as well off hiring one of the TV commercial attorneys. Thats about as much personal experience as you can expect from this firm.

TERRIBLE!!!! DO NOT USE!!! I used this firm for a suit involving a General Contractor and my company. The suit was filed against me personally even though I had a contract signed between my company and the contractor. The firm looked over all the facts and told me the contractor didnt have a leg to stand on. The firm didnt bother to do ANYTHING prior to mediation. They werent even aware a Lis Pendens was put on my property preventing the sale of the property. This firm is completely inept and should be avoided at all cost. Not only did I lose the suit, that should have been open and shut, but got stuck with a $9,000 bill from the firm. I could have done a better job myself than this firm did. Horrible law office. Coming from a family of 6 attorneys, Jim Ross sells you And then disappears. We spent over 20k while they lose associates and the lead family law attorney Lance Welch, never returns phone calls or emails. They claim they need to take baby steps only to get more of your money. We spent over a year and a half with this form to get nowhere. I do not recommend this firm to anyone with a divorce or child custody case. Just spoke with Jim Ross today and he didn t remember I was a client of the firm for over a year! He also stated he did not write the response but yet it stated his name at the end of the response. This goes to show this firm has no integrity and Jim Ross is a showman trying to sell what he cannot deliver

Horrible Horrible Law Firm. Jim will meet you and you believe that he will be handling your case but he will pass you off to one of his less qualified less aggressive lawyers. We hired Jim Ross because we wanted someone willing to fight for us but instead they just let the other lawyer run the negotiations and chose not to asked for what we discussed. We emailed Jim multiple times about our dissatisfaction and did not receive a response to any of them. He is fast to take that retainer but doesn t have time after he has your money. I try to tell everyone I know to avoid this law firm at all costs!!! I wish I would have read the reviews before I gave my money.
