WHAT HAPPENED?!? Why the change? Recently visited Mercado Juárez and after many years of excellent food and service, that is no more. One of my usual plates, the Nachos Juaritos, has been completely changed to the Nachos Supreme. Now it is an over priced Taco Bueno plate. The nachos used to be served perfect, now they are simply a pile of queso that become soggy before your shock sets in. Unfortunately, what was once a sure bet to satisfy is no longer that. There are many other places to go for better food.

We always order the Tacos Carbon for lunch which are excellent. Today we went and they had new menus. Tacos Carbon no longer on the lunch menu. Still on the regular menu but price went up significantly. Usually get three tacos and a side of tortillas. Today only got two tacos and no tortillas. Food still good but disappointed paying more for less.

If you like fajitas and flour tortillas, this place is for you! The tortillas are fresh and homemade. I had the lunch Carne Asada this time. The chips and salsa were also great, the chips were warm. I knocked off a star because the rice was terrible it was bland and dry, seemed as if it had been out for a bit. The restaurant is built like a hacienda, very cool looking and has a lot of Mexican/Spanish decor.

My daughter reserved the room in the back that provided ample space for our birthday celebration. The male waiter that was managing our party was horrible. He yelled at another trainee waitress in front of our party. He disappeared for long lengths of periods so much that we had to contact the manager on duty.

On Sept. 14, 2024 we were have a family/ birthday celebration with a party of 8 adults and 2 little one. We were seated in the bar area witch was get for some to see the football game. BUT our waiter seamed as he did not like his job! If I was paying the bill I would have cut his Tip. We ask for chips, we ask for small plates after we got our Queso, we ask our drinks to be refilled and after we sat for some time he cleared a few plates. We had to look to find him to get to go boxes. Really bad services this trip! ..

It is used to be great for Tex-Mex, but under the new owners, its no longer the same. The menu is completely changed and is VERY basic. They took off my favorite, Pollo Loma Linda. They no longer offer a small cup of tortilla soup or guacamole before your meal, nor do they bring out fresh flour tortillas with butter. The waiter told us that a new owner had bought the place and thats why it changed. The order of fajitas that we had was bland. More veggies than meat and the chicken was dry. My charro beans were lukewarm. IMO Chuys is better and I dont really like them! The overview says its dishes are Mexican, well let me break it to you its NOT. Lol its basic Tex-Mex. On the positive note, our waiter did everything he could so that we would have a pleasant experience. But we will probably never go back.

The new menu/brand overhaul points to a very harrowing future for fans of Mercado Juarez. Unfortunately, they are now owned by a private interest group who expect to eventually open 20 locations in the near future. If you know anything about restaurant acquisition, this is a death knell for the customer. We are going to lose a local staple to a group who only cares about profits and expansion over quality. By the way, who decided taking tamales off the menu was a good idea? Not very Tex-Mex of yall.

The Server was Awesome Roman was his name he hustled. The good was hot delicious. My only compliant is why is your salsa sooo watery? It can be described like soup vs salsa. I ve been eating here for years and it is my favorite place to eat Mexican food, but last week when we went to eat, we discovered that they have done away with many menu items. Some of my favorites. My favorite chicken enchiladas with the verdes sauce is no longer an option (only the sour cream sauce) no tamales. I m highly disappointed. The salsa and chips and tortillas are still amazing, but the menu items are lacking. Very disappointed!

This is real food! Its almost impossible to find restaurants that taste almost like home cooked. The Charro Beans are hands down the best around. Try the Guiso de Res after your warm salsa with hot chips and tortillas. You can thank me later. The atmosphere is relaxed not pretentious like so many restaurants in DFW. Prices are better than the big chains and places that are trying to be all fancy.

We have been coming here during the week for lunch the past couple of weeks and always sit in the back with booths. Its normally a middle aged lady with great service whos our waiter. Today, we decided to come, and I guess since it is Saturday, our normal waiter was not there. Instead, it was a young lady who by far has had the worst service out of all restaurants weve been to in a while. She didnt check on our food once it came in, and she didnt refill my husband drink. She only refilled my daughter and I drinks after the food came, however my cup had been gone. It was only 3 tables, so I doubt she was overwhelmed because I didnt see her checking on her other tables as well. I even had to grab our own Togo box because she stayed in the back too long where she wasnt checking in on us regularly. One of the other tables had to yell out Check Please because the waiter was nowhere to be found. The food was not good, and the fajitas didnt come out sizzling which is a bummer because thats one of the best parts. The cook served up some mediocre food today! Our usual favorite spot definitely missed the mark today.

We rented a room for our rehearsal dinner and I am so happy! I talked to Pedro a few times to get quotes and reserve the room, and he was so kind and helpful every time we spoke and I was so glad I got to meet him in person the night of our dinner. The staff was incredible! Service was so quick and they were very respectful of us and attentive of when to wait while we were talking, etc. The room was perfect -- great size for our party of 40 and cant beat the price! $100 for the room then paid only $20 a person for food and drinks including gratuity and tax. We tipped extra because the staff did such an amazing job! Thank yall for a wonderful night!

Mercados never fails to bring excellent service (no matter how busy they are) to their guests, and the food is delicious If you have never been here before, ask for some warm tortillas. I came here last night, after having this place on my list to try for a while. i was not happy with the way my enchiladas looked, but I took a bite and didn t want to judge how they looked and they were just as bad as they looked. We sent them back and got double fajitas and those were actually pretty good. The drink was my favorite thing. However I would not recommend getting the enchiladas, if this is how they are normally. Many people I ve shared the photo with have said they usually don t look like that, and they don t even believe me when I say it came from this restaurant. That would be where I would just like to leave a helpful note of how important it is to make sure the food is good and don t give a customer something that is not your best. I won t be going back to give this place another try.

I came here a few weeks ago and I used to love coming here, 20 years ago anyway. Always had great service, amazing food and sometimes they would have a mariachi band; this last time as expected, unfortunately, the food was barely better than a drive thru like taco cabana, our waiter was terrible.The chips tasted more stale than usual and we requested at least 3 times for tortillas. The soda I ordered was carbonated and when I told the waiter the replacement he brought me was in a to go cup! He was very short with us, the nachos we both ordered looked horrendous; like the kitchen literally just threw them together. It s too bad I can t remember the waiter s name. Even if you are having a bad day, when you are working, especially in the service industry, try and at least pretend you re not miserable or just don t come to work. I would have given this guy a really low tip if I had been paying! I ve never been treated like that here and we wouldn t have stayed if we were able to buy chips, tortillas and salsa to go, but I ve been told that s not allowed anymore which is ridiculous. We won t be back anytime soon if that is how they now treat people coming to have a nice dinner! I truly loved this place growing up, now I m amazed it s still open and that paint job is disgusting but someone with poor eyesight must have chosen the color. Guess not it looks like what it tastes like. Go figure.

This used to be a great restaurant and I hope it gets back to it. The last two times have gotten progressively worse. The tables for 6 are small and crammed together resulting in a noisy dining experience. The servers used to be great and its not the case anymore. The straw that broke the camels back is they have changed to flimsy plastic containers for the salsa which is served warm and now cools very quickly...come on Mercado get back to what you were.

This is our only stop for Mexican food. The food is always great. I ve never had a bad experience with the food or service, they are always very good. The atmosphere is good and we enjoy every trip. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and service! Wendy was my last server and she is very good!

10/10! We had the Guiso de Res and beef fajitas. Both were delicious! Served with warm salsa and fresh tortillas. The Mexican Mimosas were really good too. Highly recommend!
