Food was mid. More expensive than other places and the tortillas were rubber. Meat too salty. And didnt even come with beans or rice like other places for that price. No lime. ALSO I got charged extra twice. They not only charged taxes on the first register and then used the square to put more tax. So use cash. Or better yet just go somewhere else. How do you mess up carne asada tacos.

Literally just passed by on the way to our destination and Gilberto s was the only place open so happy it was! The girl at the counter was super sweet, the establishment was clean, food was fast and deeeeelicious. We ordered: queso birria tacos, bean tostada, and a vanilla churro. Talk about huge portions; the tostada was enough to share and the were stuffed and filling. If you re in Arlington you have to stop.

We found this little place by good luck! We come from a small town where it s hard to find good authentic food and this place is exactly what I needed and wanted! My husband got the rolled tacos and loved it, while I got a Barbacoa burrito with papas and cheese and cilantro and a side of rice! The portions were massive and generous! I definitely did my happy girl food dance looking at this food!! The flavors were top notch and the lady taking orders was so nice to us! Highly recommend Gilberto s!!!

I ordered a bean and cheese burrito and all I got was beans. I took two big bites so it looks like I ate more than what I ate and all that I got was pretty much tortilla in my mouth. When I asked if they could remake it was more cheese I was told no, so I will not be coming back here. And Horchata is gross. It s not sweet. You can t taste any of the cinnamon or the rice milk. I don t know what they re doing up in this place but there s a reason why nobody s here at 6:30 at night.

This is not Tex-Mex. Dont come in expecting OtB, El Fenix, etc. The queso is just cheese sauce, its not listed on the menu, and the chips are about a quarter of the size you are used to getting even compared to other non-tex mex places that are on the same street. Parking is non-existent, you will park at another business and walk to get into this place, but by the looks of the old photos on the walls inside, this situation was a result of the city expanding the road out front, so this house-converted-into-a-business was just too close to the street to be able to accommodate the citys inevitable expansion. Once inside, it is standing room only, you are going to place your order at a counter, there is no fountain soda machine for drink refills, they will bring food to your table, but you clear your own table, and you will be prompted at the counter when you pay upfront for how much extra you want to tip for this experience. These are all the signs of a small business restaurant that is content with its usual customer base, with the ease of creating the specific menu selection it offers, and with whatever the costs vs income ratio is hovering at. If you dont like it, there are literally 7 other taco places within a mile to go bother instead. Sometimes a really hesitate when I am given the option to tip when my food is being wrung up and charged before it is made, especially when any place expects you to pickup your food from a counter, clear your own table, get your own drink refills, or doesnt even have a fountain soda machine, so there is literally no service for drinks and you just have to buy an old can or bottle soda. Today I was glad I tipped before the food came out. My friend and I were served the biggest Chimichangas we have ever seen in our lives, with sides, for just $13. I could say it was gargantuan, but instead you should picture its size like when a new kid is working at one of those hipster build your own burrito places and accidentally uses the king size tortilla for your mini and you dont say anything because sometimes that just how they do it, but then you suddenly realized that the kid also hasnt learned the correct portion sizes yet and starts loading your mini like its going to be a sacrificial offering for Godzilla and when the kid finally realizes that he messed up but he cant just put the extra food back from your tortilla because you literally standing right there watching him and all the while the line behind you just keeps getting longer and longer so he just folds it over and pins it down with his elbow using not one but two wrappers around it just to wrangle untamed beast he just created and then after he wipes a bead of sweat from his brow with his boss grinding his teeth behind because that was clearly 4 times the burrito you had paid for, he hands it to you and give you a wink to tell you that he did it all on purpose because his boss is counting pennies instead of customer reviews. Ive eaten here half a dozen times now, and while I think the tacos are bland and the meat is watery and nothing comes with cheese on it that usually has cheese on it when I order it at other places, everyone else who goes with me says they really like it, that its authentic, that the onion and cilantro ratio is better than most places, that the crispy things come out seriously crispy, that the lady at the counter asked specific questions to ensure that what I thought I was ordering and how it gets prepared was what I was ordering, and that the green salsa is actually hot as all get out. That said, Gilbertos on Abrams is authentic mexican, not tex-mex or expensive white people mexican, so your mileage may vary, but I am giving the place 5 stars for serving it the way it should be and not the way I think I want it. I will continue my search for the perfect taco according to my mind, but I will be recommend this place for anyone seeking authentic mexican tacos and more, at least for lunch only, because they seating for maybe 20 people in an area that is like 300 sq ft for dining? Its small.

First time trying them seen alot people on facebook talking about them. They are some of the best tacos and burritos in Arlington. Its seems big on the outside but small inside about only 4 tables. The ladies there were nice and greeted me. Also they explain the menu I allost order the wrong burrito. I order take out and also found out they do breakfast all day. The food was excellent!! The birria tacos were some of the best I have had. Plus, they give you a good amount of the caldo to do your tacos in. The carne asada plate I had was also very good. Everything that we got served looked fresh and hot. The price was not so bad. The actual dining area is kind of small, so if you go when its busy, you might not be able to sit down. This is a great place for tacos and done good mexican dishes. The two girls working that night kept busy cleaning the tables as people were leaving and sweeping right after. They gave great customer service as well.

This was our first trip and the staff was very helpful and welcoming. The space is small so we had trouble figuring out where to park and sit but the girls behind the counter were great. They even changed the tv channel to a kids station for our little boys. Food was great, we loved the quesabirria tacos and it was great having kids meals options! The only thing we werent crazy about was the canned cheese for the queso, it just didnt match with the quality of the rest of the food. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu had tacos, quesadilla and chicken nuggets with a capri sun and fries or rice & beans.

I got the birria ramen and my wife got the birria tacos. They were both amazing, but I must warn you off the ramen if you have sensory issues with goey textures. Were definitely coming back to try other things. Parking: 9 parking spots plus one handicap spot(10 total) on location, but the building itself is on the small side. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair ramp, but the entrance to the door itself is a bit steep. Folk in wheelchairs may have issues with that.

I ordered barbacoa tacos the tacos were full of fat, super nasty taste my plate of tacos were full of fat dripping on to other tacos as well so it made it worst I only ate 1 out of 6 I had ordered. you could taste fat in every bite! the onion and cilantro mix they had had very little cilantro and hell of onions. very disappointed was my very first time ordering from here, I really think these tacos were 100% the worst Ive had in my life.

Food is good. Big Brother Burrito tasted great and had plenty of food. Rolled tacos tasted ok, but plentiful too. Hot sauce is delicious and pairs great with food. Pineapple agua fresca was plentiful and cold, but tasted ok. Not a lot of parking spaces... and cars too close to each other in parking lot. Difficult getting out parking lot too. The food was great. I would recommend that you do not stuff the burritos with so much pico de Gallo, and advise customers if burritos include it. For Example, a Chile Relleno burrito should not have Pico de Gallo, it takes all the flavor from the Chile. Also, home made Tortillas would make your burritos even better! I come from where the Burritos Originated (Chihuahua) so just sharing the thoughts here. I like to taste burritos from different places. I am definitely coming back to taste other dishes. Gilbertos Taco Shop is located in Arlington, TX, on Abram, and is just a short few blocks from Globe life serving up great fast Mexican food including breakfast burritos that are served all day plus combination platters, tacos, and your regular burritos. From the view on Abram, it doesnt look like parking, but if you pull in, there is parking in the back adjacent to the auto shop. I came in before lunch and was greeted by the lovely staff and was presented a menu to order from at the counter. The menu is posted up on flat-screen tvs, and they also have paper menus as well. I went ahead and ordered the California burrito that came with Carne asada, fries, cheese, and Pico. The place isnt that big but offers roughly a good amount of seating for your friends and family to join you. There is a salsa station inside that had a nice variety of salsa with pickled carrots, onions, and jalapeños. They also have tapatio and Valentina as well. Within minutes, my food was ready and was presented to me for my dine in order. The burrito was packaged and rolled nicely in a piece of paper. When I took off the wrapper, the heat from burrito startled me, and I got excited! The tortilla was perfectly grilled and soft and had a nice fat to flour ratio. Quick time first bite and wowwww! I was surprised how loaded and packed this thing was! The Carne was seasoned well, and the cheese was melted to perfection. All of the sauces complimented this beauty perfectly, and I kept digging in regardless of how hot and fresh this masterpiece was. It was an awesome meal, too, Jumpstart my day! The food was marvelous and packed with lots of love from the chef. This wasnt a dry burrito but a juicy wet burrito with all the fat drippings waiting for you at the bottom of the tortilla. Ill definitely be back, and Im excited to try more items such as the enchiladas or tortas! Thank you, Gilbertos, for a stunning meal!

Great food, and they give you enough to get full! The only problem there has nothing to do whatsoever with the food. The parking lot is the challenge. It is not large enough for the traffic that the restaurant gets, so its best to try to beat the traffic!

This was our go to taco Tuesday spot for quite some time but I just cant go there anymore because at least half the time our order was completely wrong and you never know if you were going to get fresh taco shells or not, one time they were so burned I had to give most of them to the dogs. When its good its delicious but its a roll of the dice if youre going to get that. this last trip there I even wrote everything down on a piece of paper exactly how we wanted it, nothing special, no custom orders just directly from the menu and they still couldnt get it right so Im not wasting any more money there for wrong orders.

The Asada cakes come with potatoes, so it is a big plate, the quesabirrias with plenty of meat, have free sauce. If you are going to order tripita tacos, keep in mind that it is well browned in chicharrón style. Ordered food at the drive-thru and was asked if I would like to tip. Hit no tip because it was the drive-thru and later saw the charge on my bank account which I was tipped 20% on top of my bill. I was able to calculate the total amount and they added a 20% tip even though I put 0% tip. I have no problem tipping if actual service was provided but I m not going to tip at the drive-thru. Everyone knows tipping is getting absurd everywhere. Not sure if this was an accident or done intentionally, would like to give them the benefit of doubt since it was my first time there. It s a shame because the food is really good and I would have became a regular if it wasn t for the shady practices.

Very bad food, the meat in the tacos didnt taste like anything, the guacamole was very simple too. The positive point is that our food came out very quickly, like in 5 minutes. The space was very small and they didnt let us sit at the table we wanted because they said that area was closed but in the entire restaurant there are only about 7 tables and they are all together. Very bad taste and they served us reluctantly, they didnt even tell me what I ordered, I wanted soft tacos and they gave me hard ones.

Maria the young lady at the front counter is so nice and courteous made sure me and my wife food was correct and she also handled the kids that were running around jumping on the sits in the most polite way shes the example of great customer service. Great little joint. Really liked our food. Our 9 year old had the birria tacos. I had the relleno. Wife had carne asada tostada. For a fast food Mexican food place it was great. The guacamole was disappointing. Was a green paste. But all in all, I would definitely go again, just no guacamole. Parking: Small parking lot. Kind of haphazard to get in and out of. I love Gilberto s we go a couple times a month and we re so excited they built a second location. Today I decided to get the chicken tacos and regretted not getting my usual order. They were a bit dry and had lots of small crunchy pieces in both mine and my Child s taco plate. Definitely next time going to stick with our usual Pastor. Updating my review. Gilberto s reached out below offering to remake the order. Although a nice gesture I d still rather support their business in any way. We stopped by today and I ordered pastor tacos and a chicken taco. The chicken tacos have really improved on quality and we re so good!
