On 08/03/24 I ate here with my family while driving back home on a road trip. I bit into my Democrat taco into something very hard; I spit out this bone fragment and showed staff and manager. The manager took my info and assured me corporate would be calling. I followed up with him a week later and called corporate over the next week. I still haven t had any conversation with any from corporate; the manager apologized and said he would reach back out. The store manager said they don t handle things like this locally, corporate does. It s disappointing how they ve handled this.

I go to Torchy s multiple times a week. I was shocked to see that they weren t nominated in the Amarillo Choice Awards because they are my choice for pretty much every category fast service, good food, atmosphere, etc. I see the same faces when I go in there so it also must be a fun place to work. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere where you order at the counter, but they bring your food and adult drinks right to your table. We appreciated the friendly staff who checked on us throughout our meal. The food was delicious, especially the flavorful Baja shrimp tacos, which were a bit messy but totally worth it! Ive heard their breakfast tacos are fantastic too. Parking: Stripmall with lots of parking just may have to have a short walk through it.

First time trying this place. We ve seen it several times in other cities. I ordered four of the democrat tacos for my daughter and I. The lady at the front was nice and had good customer service. The tacos came out quick. They were ok at best. Kind of tasted like pot roast on a tortilla. It wasn t great but not terrible either. The queso dip was decent as well. Not sure if it would be better if I tried something different. Might give it another try just to see if I can find something that is better.

Traveling through Amarillo from Arizona to Arkansas. Pleasantly surprised and excited that there was a Torchys! My husband and I came in to dine and were told to sit at any booth and someone would get our order. We were literally the only table. There were several people at the bar but no one else was at a booth. We had to ask someone at the bar for a menu cause they didnt have any for us to get. After waiting 15 minutes for someone to get our drink or food order we were looking at multiple wait staff just walking around talking amongst themselves but no one ever came to our table so we got up and left. They were not swamped or loaded down with multiple tables. They simply did not go to work to work. We did just end up leaving so I couldnt rate the food. Just the staff that ignored us in the 1 location. I cannot speak of other locations but the Amarillo location didnt show up to work and acted as though we werent there.

Normally, Torchys is our go-to place, and always reliable. This time they were off, the Fried Avocado Taco didnt have much avocado, maybe two small breaded pieces, that was covered in refried beans, and that was all I could taste. My husband got the Baja Shrimp taco and he said it wasnt as good as last time. Not sure if its a new cook or what, but everything tasted different.

Any place that has bold lit interior signage bragging they are Damn Good instantly gets my attention. It s that edgy attitude that keeps me coming back to Torchy s, and generally speaking, I am no fan of chain restaurants. It s just that in a world of many a bland taco chain, Austin-based Torchy s pushes the needle on taco ingredients and condiments. That s another way of saying they break the rules. This time I chose the Fried Avocado Tacos, but switched out the creamy poblano sauce for a salsa verde, and had them hold the Cheddar Jack Cheese. Two is usually enough for me, along with a tall glass of local craft beer. I am also a fan of the MoFaux, a vegetarian taco with Beyond Beef, but supply chain issues (Really? Again?) found them without this essential ingredient. Maybe next time, they wished me. Still, Torchy s is as much a taqueria that serves beer, as it is a bar that sells tacos. It s easy to spot the difference in clientele based on where they are seated. I usually choose the bar, and bring a book or laptop to get things done. Two thumbs up to Torchy s for boldly going where most taquerias would never consider. They truly are Damn Good. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available! Hold the cheese and certain condiments to make it vegan.

The food here is terrific, and its made quickly so wait times are short. Prices are reasonable (about $8-10 for an average-sized meal). Great food, average service, average facilities. A little try-hard to be cool with the damn good this and that on everything. Oop. They said a C list curse word. Somewhere around as edgy as saying the word fart. Anyway, the food is REALLY great and thats what any restaurant is really about when it comes down to it. Try anything really but the Mr. Orange is by and far my favorite on their menu. Dietary restrictions: Has corn tortillas for the gluten sensitive. As someone who used to live in Austin and frequented the original Torchys, Im very disappointed in this location. I ordered a pickup order for lunchtime for my family, but our plans changed and they wanted to eat earlier, so I called the restaurant to change the time on my online order to 45 minutes earlier and told them I was on my way now to pick it up. They said they would start working on it and it would be ready when I arrive. Apparently, whoever was on the phone didnt communicate that to the staff, because when I got there to pick it up, they said they were still working on it and to go park in curbside and they would bring it right out. So I waited in curbside for 20 minutes, and then someone came out and said that the cook staff was super busy and havent even STARTED on my order yet! I told them I called 45 minutes ago to start my order, how much longer is it gonna be, and she said 5 minutes. Well, 20 more minutes pass and I watch car after car arrive and receive their food. She keeps telling me its not going to be much longer, even though she told me that 20 minutes ago. After another 10 mins, I finally receive the food, and of course the order was wrong. At that point I didnt even wanna mess with it anymore, because it took over an hour to get my food, and I didnt want to wait another hour for them to fix it, so I left. The food was good, but I will NOT be coming back here, because I have NEVER had to wait so long at a Torchys, and they obviously dont value my time. Looks like Ill only be eating Torchys whenever Im in Austin from now on.

I stopped by about 2pm. They were not busy. They had dirty tables and staff was standing around. Food was hot and fresh. Not much in them for the cost. Two tacos was 12.00. Thats not a drink or anything extra. No lettuce, tomato, nothing. Just meat, cheese, salsa, and pico. It was extra greasy and no napkins. I did like the patio area. Parking was decent. Handicap friendly. Lots of room for large vehicles. Overall, I was not impressed but it was good. 1 being the worst 10 the best- 4.

I normally love Torchy s in Dallas so I m a little disappointed with Amarillo s location. We came in an hour before closing and I was as nice as possible since I understand wanting to finish a closing shift and go home. But the cashier last night was a bit rude and got 2/3 of the tacos wrong.

Main point o want to make is when I was walking out the guy behind the counter added the extra bit of gumption that made me feel like my time at this establishment was well spent.i am 100 percent satisfied with my one and only time ever at Torchys Tacos.

Torchys is one of the best local spots to get tacos. We have really enjoyed both the dine-in and take-out experiences. The food is consistently great and the service is prompt and reliable. We like that it seems like the same employees have been there for awhile. We take that as a sign of good business practices when the turn over rate isnt super high. Inside the cleanliness could definitely improve. But we do understand they stay incredibly busy all the time.
