DO NOT GO ON A SUNDAY to this location. We are regulars and whoever is creating the schedule must think every one watches the cowboys bc they are understaffing the kitchen and you re looking at 30-45 min wait to get your food! This ISN T the 1st time either. Lastly, the quality of the food IS DECLINING. I sure hope corporate see this!!!

Server was impersonal. Long wait before taking the order. Then a long wait for the food to show up even though most tables were empty and they did not seem too busy. Finally they left the bill at out table to sign electronically. But the bull included multiple items we did not order. Took a long time to get the attention of the server to get it corrected. Even after the so called correction the bill still included the items we did not order. After going through this a couple of times we had to walk up to the check in sesh to ask a supervisor to get it corrected. Was finally corrected after three attempts to get someone to resolve it and an additional 15 minutes to just get it corrected. The server did not apologize even once. Food was ok, but service could not have been worse. We will not return or recommend any of our friends to visit.

My family came in on early Saturday afternoon and didn t seem to busy.. arrived at the host stand were the host were chatting and I didn t wanna interrupt.. when they were aware of my family and I they greeted us and sat us promptly. This is the 1st time visiting this location and everything was a big disappointment. From our server who was rude and seemed to be annoyed with any request.. to the food being overpriced for the type of upscale Tex mex it s trying to pre tray. It definitely wasn t worth the time and money spent. I feel if we re gonna spend $200 dinning out service should be more 5 stars for sure! Our server was never available and had to flag them down when needed something.. we ask for to go boxes and they say them on top of our food .. when it came time to pay they just handed me the device and didn t even show me an itemized receipt and offer one.. just so disappointing all around.

I was disappointed with my order when I came in for lunch in early August 2024. The order I had a Chicken Taco, had no cheese at all and the chicken enchilada also did not have any cheese, the enchilada had a small amount of sauce. The chips were also not good. I did mention this to the server and she said she would mention this to the manager no one came to my table. The previous time I went their the prices had gone up that seemed to be wide spread. The food then was good. Times are tough and I expect to get the basic things like cheese, etc.

I am absolutely dismayed by the decline in Uncle Julios standards. My husband and I have been loyal patrons since the 90s, but the recent experiences have been consistently disappointing. The cleanliness and food quality have not met our expectations. Todays meal was not up to par, and we noticed five tables that remained dirty for the duration of our hour and a half long visit. Despite hoping for improvement, it seems that the issues persist. The only positive aspect of our visit was our waiter, Koen, who demonstrated exceptional professionalism and kindness. Unfortunately, this will be our last visit. Its evident that the restaurant is no longer the same.

Unhelpful manager said they were busy this morning so that s why I m missing half of my order but she can t do anything about it unless I come and get it myself (totally defeats the purpose . What a shame, I had such high hope, horrible treatment by hostess and manager, they were very discriminative and very rude, very disappointed in the management of this restaurant, someone needs to teach the staff about cultural competence, and customer service etiquette. Was disappointed in the way Sanvana handled the situation and the mannerism. Waited 15 min with no service after we were sat, had to ask bartender for service. It was not busy, I watch the young manager checking leaning against the hosted counter checking her phone, multiple servers wandering around talking but no one making sure people were served. Then we were brought a bowl of chips that looked like the bottom of the barrel, certainly not big enough to dip in the salsa. Food was good, the bartender Will saved the day with good service and drinks.

This had been one of the best Restaurant experiences that I have ever had. The staff was extremely friendly. They all learned my name very quickly, and everybody that happened to come and talk to me. Welcome instantly this was my first stop in Oklahoma . Heard people say that Oklahoma was OK. The staff here made my Oklahoma time wonderful. The food was really good and I wasn t able to eat all this food so I have some for later too. I got the carnitas fajitas, Which had Flavor for the price. I could see this being in wonderful location to take a date. And if your kids are old enough to enjoy fine dining, the family would have a great time.

I ordered the fajitas and enchiladas. They changed the meat to skirt steak from aged ribeye, it is no longer worth ordering, it taste different. I was pleasantly surprised about the enchiladas. I definitely would order those again. Ive come here many times. The quality of food is slowly going down, and it shows due to the empty tables. Service was good and food came out in a timely manner. Overall, its not a bad place to come, but not as great as it once was.

Just had dinner at one of my all time favorite Mexican food restaurants. It was so disappointing. Service was horrible. Chips arrived at the table crushed into pieces. Tableside guacamole was good. Never saw the waiter until it was time to order food/. Oh yeah that s when we received our drinks. Ordered a pint colada. Never came as the waiter explained they couldn t make it. Later found out that was false. Food arrived, no tortillas with my fajitas. Had to wait while steak got cold. Literally had to track down waiter to order more drinks or at least get more hot sauce. Overall, service was not good at all. Very disappointing.

Absolute worst experience i ever has at a restaurant! The manager horrible Never received silverware No cups for water Waiting 15 mins before someone even came to the table . But when I told the manager she told me it s not that big of a deal They short , I told her it s hard to believe when the place is empty and you have 4 employees standing talking to each other ! I will never go their again I will report the location I work in CS and I m A big believer on treating people right !! And great CS . Frisco location is a much better train staff but the Allen location will close soon the way they treat people I did pay for 4 drink and appetizer but I will never go there again, with my family . We didn t even order dinner.. the manager extremely rude had the audacity to tell me to have a blessed day after being rude. And laughed ! This was my first time at Uncle Julios restaurant in Allen The view from outside the restaurant is beautiful with a welcoming architecture. One very important note to the management. The very thorny cactus like bushes on the side walk leading into the restaurant is a law-suit waiting to happen. I got poked by it and so did a fe others following me. The bush has gtown into the sidewalk and is very dangerous (see attached pictures). For young children walking or running can easily get poked into their eye and can possibly seriously hurt them. The bushes need to be removed!! The ambiance inside the restaurant is awesome, neat and clean. Servers are jovial, well mannered and prompt. The sq footage inside the restaurant is a lot which provides for a comfortable seating arrangement where each table or booth is not close to one another. Food: We ordered cherry soda which was awesome. Almost all the dishes we ordered smelled of stale or burnt or over used oil making each bite difficult to swallow. The sense of freshness of food was hard to find due to the overpowering smell of bad oil. Quantity per dish was a bit less compared to the other restaurants and also for the price of each dish which is about $5 more than similar compared dishes in other similar restaurants. Chips and salsa were good. I am hoping that the bad tasting food was just this location. My review rating involves major points for food any serious concerns like the cactus like thorny bush at the entrance (see pictures) and the price for the portion size and food taste. With all that I cannot give more than 3 stars for this location. I am going to give another try to Uncle Julios at another location and there will be another review. But I possibly wont be visiting the Allen TX location (any time soon).

The staff is very friendly but the good is inconsistent and service is pretty slow. Normally I will not write negative reviews so this one will cover a little of both. Came here with my boyfriend and our ceviche took way too long and without our asking, the manager did not charge us which was awesome. However their fish was chewy. It has an awesome flavor though. My beef in my taco was a bit chewy as well. We left thinking we would not go back but a friend scheduled a lunch there so I did go back. I had shrimp enchiladas, which were quite amazing. The service again was very slow but very friendly. It makes me think theyve had some changes in the kitchen but that is purely speculation. Based on my lunch, I do think I will go back again, to give them another opportunity.

We had a late lunch there today (15 June 24). It was terrible. Our waitress seemed to forget we existed and brought two of our four drinks. Then brought a sprite (which we didnt order). Our food arrived cold, cheese congealed on the plate. I took my knife and slid it under the cheese and was able to lift the queso up flat using my knife. The lady who brought the food identified herself as the manager which surprised me she actually put the plate in front of me, given the condition of the food. My daughters friends food was cold too, I could tell from looking at it. However, she is a teenage girl who would rather eat the cold food than complain. My son ordered guacamole and it arrived with no chips. I asked for some from both the manager and the waitress. After waiting for chips as my other two guests finished their food, I tracked down the manager across the room to ask for more chips. Food - terrible service - even worse (if thats possible) Will not go back.

This is my favorite tex mex restaurant in Allen. I love their steak fajita and carne asada: theyre pretty much the same thing. Id recommend getting the chocolate piñata if you have a party of 4+ and a special occasion(there are a lot of treats to consume and its pricey). The food is delicious whether you dine in, take out, or delivery. Their chips are usually thin and seasoned with salt. The salsa has somewhat of a smokey taste. I havent had a bartender make me a watered down drink so Id give them a try too. Their prices seem to have gone up significantly this year.

If you want great service with a smile and great conversation, Faith is your girl! She took the time to get to know our party and made sure we were taken care of. Uncle Julios is the BEST!!! From my Margarita to our habenero shrimp appetizer, to my chicken and beef fahitas, everything was delicious! Our server, Emiliano, was the absolute BEST!!! Coming from a strong El Fenix fan, I heard about this place a lot. I ordered the steak quesadilla expecting a lots of flavor and a tender juicy steak but was disappointed. Uncle Julios is the best for authentic Mexican food in its Tex-Mex cuinsine fashion. I visited the location in Allen, Texas, and the atmosphere was lively. Its the weekend, and Texans, were out braving the Texas cold in January...Lol The food was delicious and perfect. I had an appetizer quesadilla (steak). For dinner, I had the Tacos Plate (steak & chicken). Heres a question for you. What is just, as good,as great food? And the answer: Great people and great service, of course. Ordered takeout with some simple modifications. Leave off 3 items, bacon, corn and onions. Since my salad is made to order, the fact that these items were on/in it are really unacceptable. Portion sizes were small, bill was high. Chicken was too salty to eat. Grilled veggie fajitas for 2 was a joke and served one person for a whopping $35. My husband and I have gone here a few times and sat at the bar, the first time was very busy so when service was not good we didnt judge, we just went with the flow but we went again last night and it was very slow and yet service was still horrible at the bar. With two bartenders behind the bar, our friend still had to ask the manager for a refill because she passed us more times than both bartenders who camped out at the opposite end of the bar and even when they werent at the other end of the bar, they were too busy cleaning and rarely came to ask if we needed anything. You literally had to interfere with their cleaning to ask them if they could help you, rather than them ask the customer if they could help you. Service was just backwards. It stayed that way the entire night so I chose not to order food aside from a small bowl of beans, which was ordered at the same time as my first drink. After that bowl of beans we chose to go to BJs, which is next door to have drinks and food there. My husband said from now on if we walk in and those same two bartenders are bartending we will leave and go elsewhere. You may get good service if you grab a table but bar service is the worst. I would not recommend this establishment if you intend to be at the bar.

I had a surprise lunch for my mothers 70th birthday at Uncle Julios in Allen today and the manager and staff were absolutely fantastic. I had reserved an area for about 30 people with the manager Kevin Moore a few weeks ago. He asked for things she liked and flowers and when we arrived to set up he had flowers and a gift waiting. It was so beautiful and sweet of them to do that for my mom. The servers Roman and Adam were so attentive and were able to handle our groups needs and there were no issues. They even let us know when she was walking in. The food was amazing too and everyone was raving about their food. We all had a wonderful experience and I will go back often. They helped create wonderful memories and I am very grateful for all they did for my mom. If you have a special event, I would recommend Uncle Julios in Allen! They will take care of you like family! Went for dinner last night with family/friends that were in town (all young professionals between 22-26). We had a 45 minute wait due to understaffing which was confusing since our waitress was great and the food was good, until the manager came over. She starts by telling one of the guys he looks sleepy and asked him how was school today in a pretty condescending manner. He had to awkwardly explain that he was a college graduate after she doubled down and asked what high school he went to. After zero acknowledgement that she made us all feel uncomfortable, she turns to a girl in our group and YELLED, OH! I thought you were a girl! Our poor friend was mortified and said I am a girl. And after a long pause our friend asked if she looked like a man as our waitress walked back up. Again, zero acknowledgement to us, ZERO apology. The manager turned to the waitress in front of all of us, laughed and said I just called that girl a man hahaha then walked away! Our waitress tried apologizing but it was clear she didn t hear what all was said. We were all in shock and paid quickly and left. It s no surprise they are short staffed on waitstaff when the MANAGER chooses to ruin people s experiences and the waitstaff takes the hit for it after doing nothing wrong. (Edit to add: our friend is not trans, has long hair, feminine features, and was wearing yoga pants. There is no confusion to anyone else that she s a girl.)

I had an online order so it might be a completely different experience than dine in. I ordered steak fajita, carne asada, and tacos. The steak fajita is shown to come with tortillas and so I didn t add it for extras (I ve ordered this before from Uncle Julio s and got tortillas) but they forgot it this time. I excused that for a minor mistake but the carne asada, I wanted a medium well cooked but it was more like rare. I took a picture and I didn t even touch the food after because I didn t like the way it was cooked after selecting my preference and I couldn t eat the steak fajitas with tortillas.

Love the atmosphere and decor. Its a nice looking restaurant but the food is not the best. I ordered the combo enchiladas, and they werent very good. I wasnt sure you could mess up enchiladas, but the tortilla was very tough and just wasnt very flavorable. I also ordered queso which was good and so were the salsas. I ve generally enjoyed this place, but my latest visit was a bit disappointing. I ordered their barbacoa fajita, which was overwhelmingly salty. When the waiter inquired about our meal, I shared my feedback, leading to a brief visit from the manager who simply thanked me for the input and moved on. While I appreciated the waiter s service and tipped accordingly, the overall response felt underwhelming. It was a letdown, particularly because I ve had great experiences here before. I hope this was just a one-off, but it did make me think twice about coming back.
