Visited on Fri 23rd September, at around lunchtime. It was busy but we were still served quickly, the staff were all friendly and seemed pretty happy in their job. Would always recommend the Tres Leches dessert! Can we have some Branches in the UK please???

Im originally from South Texas where Taco Palenque was born...I have a really hard time to find REAL carne asada on homemade corn Tortillas in Central Texas but since I found this location I at least get to have my delicious taste of home every now and then...you can be sure that I make a stop before heading home to Austin every time!

So prior to the last 2 visits I was a true Taco Palenque fan. However, the last 2 visits had serious quality issues, and today I noticed that instead of 3 sizes of fideo soup now only 1 size is offered (the small bowl). I would be ok with this change BUT the price for the single bowl order is the price of the large size -- shame on you for thinking 1. This would be acceptable, and 2. No one would notice. There is literally no excuse for this change other than greed. I have ordered the large and extra-large sizes weekly, because I really like how they taste and I eat them almost daily. However, I will no longer order from you -- you do realize that customers know you were already overcharging for this basic soup. But it was nice not having to make it myself. Count me one less customer-- greed is greed. #tacopalenquegreed #shameontacopalenque

Update: I gave this place another try and ordered a Pirata taco and a Matamoros taco. Both were filled with meat as advertised and both were wonderful. Im so glad I gave them another shot. Will definitely be going back again! Original review: The young lady at the drive-thru was wonderful, the food was delicious, but the price for what I got is insane. I ordered the #1, Pirata Jr. Combo, and I got 2 bean and cheese tacos with 3 small strips of fajita meat in each one, not even close to being stuffed with fajita meat. Over $16 after tax with a side of rice and a drink.

First time to Taco Palenque. Food is almost home style for a fast food restraunt. The Barbacoa Tacos are really good. Great flavor. Chilaquiles taco was spicy but very good flavor. The chicharron prensado taco was delicious almost like my mom used to make.. thank you for the flavor full memories each bite gave. Defenetly must try if you havent. I would have taken pics but I finished all my food.

I love the food here. The only thing is that if you go inside.... They do not all know English. That was frustrating because my entire order got messed up. Instead of letting me know she did not understand me. She grinned and giggled while screwing up my order. The food is unmatched tho. Everyone is mostly friendly. I Ordered a super chicken quesadilla and they gave me a double quesadilla so I asked the cashier to redo the order because I ordered a large super quesadilla, I guess the cook got mad and it looked like he dumped the other quesadilla I returned onto a bigger tortilla and just added more cheese on the edges so I talked to the manager and she made me the correct one. The food here is excellent but sometimes the employees do not pay attention to the customers. I think they should weight the plates so the amount of chicken they put on the plate is always the same. Manager was very helpful.

I love taco Palenque. In San Antonio they have the best but this location was just bad. The meat was cold, the tortilla was tough and not fresh. The cheese in the enchiladas was coagulated and the sauce was not good at all, and the beans packed flavor. Im sorry but I do not recommend this location... But I highly recommend all the locations in San Antonio...

The lady s accent that was working the register was extremely thick and was having a very hard time understanding me and I was having a very hard time understanding her. She began to get irritated and so did I honestly. Not a good way to start someone s dining experience. Their Tacos here are 5 dollars a piece. Then they don t bring out my Nachos. I finally get them and they bring out some corn chips with queso on top and that s it.

We dropped a whole plate of fajitas, it was our fault and they didnt say anything. They brought a whole plate of fajitas right away. My father-in-law burnt his hand trying to save the fajitas and they brought him aloe vera. This place is amazing. They didnt skip a beat or complain. Not only is the staff that works there awesome the food is too! I recommend and would give more stars if I could. Thank you!

My husband and I stopped in here on a Thursday evening for dinner. We got the fajitas for two, and 2 margaritas. Wow! Let me just say how excellent the food was. It was fast, delicious & very fresh. Im down from Utah visiting family. They said they hadnt found a good Mexican place yet, and I suggested Palenque from the online reviews. We had a great experience. I ordered 3 different plates--chicken fajitas, street tacos, and enchiladas. Everything tasted delicious. The beans that come with the street tacos are amazing. The meat is seasoned well. Food came out hot. Excellent salsa bar. I liked that it comes with a cabbage mix, cucumbers, cilantro, diced onion, and more. And serve yourself tortilla chips?!?! Awesome! The place was filled with Mexican people--always a good sign. This is their new favorite Mexican place, and I would come often if I were local.

I was so excited to eat here after finding one in San Antonio. You can bet I WON T be back. You want to charge me $3.19 for ONE taco and then can t even fill it like a regular taco. Its a fast Mexican food place, but if you tasted the food, youd never know. If you remember what Taco Cabana was 20-30 years ago, Taco Palenque is better than Taco Cabana ever was.
