We LOVE this place so much! We recently moved to the area and we love mexican so we knew we needed to find our new place ! Chepas is the closest to our house so we said let s go! Since May we have been here at least once every two weeks , the food is absolutely amazing and the service is even better ! Fernando is our guy! We had him the first time we came in and we have loved our experiences with everyone but Fernando sure knows how to make his customers feel valued but especially his regulars , tonight we came in and we haven t had him for a while , he always asks how we are doing and talks with us , our drinks are always filled , he s always asking us if we need anything , everything always comes hot and fast ! and he just always makes sure to treat us like we are valued! I promise you you will not be disappointed with Chepas ! Go give them a try!!!!

I love this place! Their salsa is amazing. The quesadillas are so good I usually order some to go after we eat to munch on the next few days heating up in the air fryer. Portions are more than generous. The customer service is so evident of team work. It s not a response of I m not your waiter but everyone is checking on your regardless of how busy it is. When we want Mexican this is our Go to place. I m actually excited to have some quesadilla for breakfast after writing this review. Dietary restrictions: We bring our own zero carb tortillas rolled in tinfoil (dietary restrictions) to make our fajitas at the table with no questions asked

We have just moved to Texas and family recommended this place so we decided to give it a try. First the food is really good with great flavor. The only downside for me was the very very loud mariachi band that was playing. I like authentic things but with my hearing issues from the military this was way to loud for me to be able to enjoy any conversation and therefore made it not a completely enjoyable experience. I would return for the food but would need to ensure that the band was not playing on that day or time.

I really did not like the combo dinner. The brown sauce was over the the tamale and the enchilada thats not what I was expecting I dont recommend it. further it was not hot and had no Mexican flavor it was more of a sweet flavor. Amount of food was more than I could eat. I then proceeded to go home and the food went right through me so to speak. My tummy was not happy.

The food needs some spice! So bland. The chicken was so dried out, hard to eat. We ordered guacamole it was huge but lacking in flavor. With 20 minutes it was turning brown. Drinks were ok but very watered down except for the margarita. I doubt we would try again.

We eat at Chepas periodically. The food has generally been good and the service has been fine. However, recently the food is not quite as good as it once was and the service is lacking. The chili con carne seemed to be slightly burnt on enchiladas and the guacamole was too watery. When asked for straws, our server did not have them, which is fine, but brought unwrapped straws to the table using bare hands. Maybe a bit more training is needed.

I can only speak on my experience which was lunch time so it was fairly empty. Service was fine but I got the fajita nachos the beans and cheese was good but the fajita meat was gray and zero flavor you could not taste that it was fajita meat at all. Given that the meal was 19.00 I kinda expected alot more from the meat. It was almost like the fajita meat was boiled. There was no grille marks no color just gray and tasteless.

It was our very first time tonight. Had to verify all these rumors around town. VERY clean, VERY friendly, and every person on the dining floor comes to check on you. Not irritatingly, either, because we simply like to yap for hours. A smoooooth experience. But lets talk real business. The Margaritas are no joke - get a designated driver! Some Allen Police came and went while we were there - just wait it out; they will leave. The flavor of the margarita is actually superb, and tastes unlike any other place we go currently. That is a BIG plus. Yes, we are talking ALL CAPS good here. And I am talking about just a frozen house margarita. On Mondays they are only $5. In the freaky glass and everything! That is an even bigger plus, but other Monday specials draw in the Allen Police so you must factor that into your plans. The tortilla chips have now won my best in Allen award, although there is no such thing. I think our server fried them in the back before bringing the basket to us. Its literally plausible to me here..! You will just have to see/taste what I mean, trust me. For my entree, I had a beef fajita chimichanga, and if you are a chimichanga lover like me, you should know that this is the first one in decades Ive had that was actually fried. Actually FRIED. This fact alone will bring me back really soon to ensure I wasnt just margaritified in my assessment of the chimichanga. But that likely just throws me into an endless verification loop. They do not have a pick this, pick that menu option, but the menu is so properly diverse and properly grouped it simply did not matter. This place was everything we were told it would be and more. I will see you there in a few days (because Wednesdays happy hour involves Crown Royal somehow). Seriously, though, try Chepas and drive safe! UPDATE: Ive added photos of the Totos Queso, double-crisp Taco, and Happy Hour Shared Margarita to make your mouth water!

Disclaimer: I only had lunch here, so I consider this an incomplete review. I will try dinner at another point in time and add more to this review at a later point in time. Me and my daughter tried Chepas out due to the recommendation of a Facebook food group that I am a member of. In my opinion, if there was a partial numerical rating scale, I would rate this place as 3.5. For me, the food was good not exceptional, which is more than an adequate requirement for lunch. The wait to get our order in was a tad longer than I would have preferred. However, considering that ther were only two servers who doubled as bussers, it was understandable. I believe it is more of an issue with management having inadequate staffing resources. I had the Flautas plate and my daughter had número seis, which had a brisket taco along with a cheese enchilada. Our plates came out approximately 10 minutes after we ordered. My flauta was a bit dry (although there was a cheese sauce available for dipping) and could have used a bit more seasoning. My daughter was perfectly happy with her lunch plate. I did try a bit of her cheese enchilada and it was flavorful. I think overall this is a good local Tex Mex restaurant that has a pretty decent offering. The food and service met my expectations and is on par with out Tex Mex diners in the DFW area. I will definitely try it out again during dinner service to get a more in depth review.

We went on a Saturday night. Staff was friendly and attentive. I ordered Alfredos Favorite - chicken w grilled onions, mushrooms & pablano peppers. The serving was pretty generous. Although chicken didnt have a lot of flavor, the onions, mushrooms & peppers were delicious. I was disappointed by tortillas though - store-bought, not freshly made in house - as I am sensitive to the smell & taste of preservatives in store- bought tortillas. If thats not an issue for you, then its a pretty good place for a good size portion. For more depth of flavor and fresh tortillas, I would suggest other options.

If it could give this place zero stars, I would. The food made me feel sick and everything was awful. The salsa was ketchup like and the queso was bland and weird. The fajita steak meat and quesadilla chicken was extremely dry. There was little to no alcohol in the margaritas. I rarely give a place 5 stars for all categories. We were very impressed with the service and food. We accidentally found this place and could not be more happy we did. The margarita was severely watered down and malnourished. My son and I had to wait nearly 30 mins for our food and the food was terrible and COLD (I can tell that it was just sitting in the back). We witnessed two customers come in 10-15 mins after us, get seated, and got their food asap wayyy before ours. I never had a tamale with a pound of masa and so little meat in the middle. Both of our cheese enchiladas were cold. The Charra beams were bland and watery - no flavor at all. We both left very disappointed and dissatisfied and will NEVER return to this restaurant again. The food is really good. Polite staff. Order the guacamole! It s terrific, and they make it fresh each day. Vegetarian options: Cheese chili relleno is terrific. The guacamole is awesome and is freshly made each day.

We went for drinks and an appetizer. I didnt love the salsa. I asked for spicier and added the habanero one to the regular, and it was more paletable. The drinks were yummy, love the Tex Mex flare of their glasses. The appetizer was quite tasty.

The food is pretty good, but Chepas can be really noisy during their busy time. Come to celebrate, not to have a quiet meal. We came on a Friday night and waited over a half an hour to be seated. The service is excellent though -- very attentive.

After a tip from locals, I came for a quick bite at lunch. I ordered Shrimp Tacos and it was super delicious. 2 bites and you know you hit the jackpot. Now, it is time to tell my wife how good the food was. I will be back.

We called at 2:15 to make a reservation for 16 at 6:15. We started walking in at 6:05 and the table was ready. The Chepa s service team was amazing! The service was very prompt and responsive. The food was excellent. The guacamole and tortillas were super tasty. The fajita steak flavor was delish, not too thin, tender, and cooked perfectly. Will absolutely be back! So many items left to try.

This has become our go to place for Mexican food this year. The tex-mex is delicious and the traditional Mexican dishes on the menu are some of the best Ive had. My mouth is watering just thinking about their guiso. The atmosphere is comfortable and everyone is friendly and efficient. Brunch is good too! Give them a try, you wont be disappointed.

Good place for some fine Mexican food! Service was super prompt and awesome! Chips for a bit greasy, and the salsa was a little heavy on the garlic! I liked it, but my partners didnt! Chips are not salted after they were fried! Null! The enchiladas, were awesome! Great filling, accompanated with an awesome sauce to go on top! The charro beans were on the 6 out of 10 side. Mexican rice was really good! Place was packed, and they were handling it well, due to the great instruction of the manager! Very smooth performance! Had several big parties coming in, and overwhelmed them quickly! Manager stepped up and took care of everything in a way good manner! Only wish there were some more options on the menu, like just ordering a la carte! Everything was a plate or a meal from what I saw in the menu. Really didnt want to spend that much money to get a snack or a small meal.

My wife and I have been eating at various Mexican restaurants on Friday afternoons for dinner. We tried Chepas recently. The salsa for the chips and salsa was great! My wife tried the spinach and chicken enchiladas and she liked them. I tried the Chepas tacos and they were good. We both had the cilantro-lime rice and it was cold so we both passed. The pinto beans (soup?) was ok. The service was pretty good up until the end when we had to pay. Overall ok. Probably would go back for the chips and salsa and maybe try something else but not super impressed.

Food was awful, service was awful. This was not authentic or good in any way. Husband got super over cooked non cut up steak and chicken fajitas. Cheese dip tasted like rotel. Server was clearly on drugs or alcohol he couldnt remember anything and acted very odd.
