TLDR - Understaffed. Good food and friendly staff. But not enough staff to cover the amount of people eating/drinking here. But they need a better support system in order to handle all the people here. We got our food and drinks at a decent time. But it took forever for us to get a check and actually pay. I waited longer for my check then I did for food.

Bartenders are amazing. Food is meh . Karaoke is really fun. Emily, Casey, and Keely are so much fun, and balance excellent service while joining karaoke! Environment is near perfect, other than the owner killing the vibe. She s circling the bar, obviously micromanaging the staff. Kind of a buzzkill. 6/5 stars other than that.

Me and my friends went for some drinks and the owner Sandra started saying racist things towards one of my friends because she didnt have a Texas id. We didnt have a problem with it. The only reason writing this is because when my friend showed her id to Sandra say asked her if she knew English or what. The restaurant was loud and we could hear her because someone was on the stage sing. Sandra if you see this I want a response from you soon. Because for you being a busy owner thats not how you treat people. Just letting you know I didnt hear when you told my friend if she knew English or what but Ill let you know that you dont know how to run a busy at all. You just discriminate people and start being racist. You dont have to tell us to go to the back of the kitchen with you to show us anything thats just weird.

I just wanted to share my experience at Lion And Crown I felt so discriminated by the service and felt like they were racially profiling us. So I and three of my buddies (All of us Hispanic) had just finished working out and decided to go for a drink and as we get there service starts off great with such a nice service but as time went on we felt a bad vibe like we were getting stared at and sure a enough a older lady in a black dress (the owner) starts giving us ugly looks and sends the service to come and tell our table and only our table that we smelled like marijuana and that we were smoking in there Establishment but no one else was told yet prior to that our server complimented one of my buddies for smelling good but however she targeted specifically our table since we were the only Hispanic group there not trying to say it was racist but from our point of you she could have handled it different then the way it was I just hope it wasn t for racist reasons but it was good to know we weren t welcomed there but no worries we won t set a foot in your establishment

Is this the worst place ive been? No. I see what theyre trying to do... a late night eatery with music and drinks and bar food. However I would never go here again. 3 stars because its not the worst place. But for me the food was sooooo salty. Its super loud inside, so dont go here if youre trying to have a conversation. The servers were kind but it was hectic they couldnt get the orders right. They were trying their best... its not a place I would recommend out of the many options in the area.

A bar full or people. We all want music. The owner wanted to watch some boring soccer game. So instead of accommodating the patrons and watching soccer while listening to music...we listened to 30 minutes of commentary over soccer. Great time, patronage value sucks here. I ve been to this area several times and my favorite places to go are here and Grimaldi s pizza, so I decided to celebrate my birthday and make a trip down. We start out here and the service is always great and friendly servers. We then order some drinks and order our pizza to go next door. So we tell them we are going to check out and be back after we eat our pizza and they said that we don t need to close our tab and can just eat the pizza here if it s on the patio and we think great! We then come back and are doing exactly that while still ordering drinks from this place. Well we were met by an aggressive woman who said she was the owner and to put our pizza back in the box that we couldn t eat it here. So we did and we re finishing our drinks so we could on the grass area to eat it. As we were waiting on our check, we decided to take a bite of pizza since we were literally about to leave and apparently she had been watching us through the window she called security on us over PIZZA, yes you heard me right. Our tab there ordering drinks was way more than our one pizza cost. Not only that, but as we re checking out not saying anything to her she decided to add in that we were not allowed back there ever again. I politely let her know that Grimaldi s pizza was good and trust me we won t be. Also the 5 security guys didn t say anything to us or even walk up to us, you could tell they were embarrassed and that this lady has probably done this several times.

They had our burger wrong and wasn t admitting and when we told them there are beans in our burger, they were like it is part of the burger which wasn t in the menu. And when waitress had the manager to our table she was so rude. Not a good tune to talk to your costumers. Anyhow we didn t care and paid even though they could at least offer no charge for the wrong burger. We won t ever back to this place.

We ordered beer(s) from the bar wanted to sit outside and listen to the music. But before ordering we checked to see with if it okay to consume the pizza we had ordered next door for our kid and we were told it is okay as long as we are sitting outside in the patio. The owner walks in 10 mins later and was too rude and says that it is her restaurant and we are not allowed to bring outside food ( which I completely get it)but they should have been up front when we asked about the outside pizza. After we heard her say she is going to fire her staff and who said that, we took the high road and didn t want the poor employee fired and left the place. Wasted our money buying drinks from here. She ruined the evening for us

My family came in on a Saturday night to celebrate my graduation. We wanted to go for the live music, which was really good! Unfortunately the waitresses (Marla) service was trash and ruined the whole experience. We arrived and were given menus and no one came back to take our order. I had to hunt the sever down 15 min later. My sister came in a few minutes after we ordered. The server just dropped our drinks and food off.. but never got her or her kids drink order, food order, or acknowledged she would needed service. I had to say, please don t leave she needs to order at least twice. My husband ordered a second beer and she forgot to put in the order..which is fine just be honest. She said they are backed up at the bar then came to confront us with the wrong beer and stated, the bar and me are two different people I believe she thought we went to order a drink at the bar and expected her to bring it to us which we never did. It was incredibly unprofessional. My nephew spilled his water on the table. No big deal. We asked another server for towels to help clean it up. She came back with three bar towels and left. No one tried to help. Our actual server came by and didn t acknowledge the situation or ask if we needed help while we were on our hands and knees trying to clean up. My sister asked for the checks twice. There was tension, it was just awkward and unprofessional in the end. Lack of awareness and lack of caring was the common theme she gave us. Food was ok, but we really came for the music. We probably wont go back. The service just left such a sour taste in our mouth.

I recently went out for some drinks at the Lion and Crown Pub, and it was a lot of fun. I had a Long Island ice tea, and my friend tried the beers on tap. Drinks were well made and reasonably priced. It was a Friday, and they had a live cover band playing in the bar. Typically on Friday they have live music outside, but it was a blustery evening so the band moved inside. We shared an order of nachos and they were delicious. Even on a Friday night, the bar was fairly full but the rest the place had plenty of seating. There were enough people that it felt popular, but not so many that it was packed. Bathroom was clean and available without a wait. Very happy with the experience. Would definitely return.

When we arrived the restaurant was nearly empty and we were able to sit down right away. We ordered quickly but then continued to wait for 45 min without our food being ready. The waitress then came back and said she needed to get our order again because our ticket had gotten lost. I think she may have forgotten to put our order in. She did apologize and gave us some fries to eat while we waited. The food was ok when it arrived. I would feel more understanding of forgetting our order or other issues if they were busy but it was nearly empty. Probably will not return since there are many other options.

I have a real problem with a menu that calls its cheese fries English Nachos and then ALSO has nachos, especially when they have extremely loud live music. Just call them cheese fries! Or, have nachos with an option to get them English style with fries instead of chips. Im sure anyone reading this review can imagine the situation I encountered tonight when I REALLY WANTED cheese fries after a long day and was presented with soggy nachos instead.

Visited The Lion & Crown recently and have to say, it s a bit of a mixed bag. The location is absolutely five-star nestled in the charming Watters Creek Village, it s a delightful spot for an evening out. However, the quality of the food, particularly the fish and chips, left quite a bit to be desired. The fish was not up to the mark, lacking in flavor and crispiness, which was a disappointment. The atmosphere and service were decent, making the overall experience average. Would recommend for the location, but perhaps choose a different dish! A great, spirited place with awesome music! It was an off night, a Tuesday. The place wasnt crowded. Sat at the bar. The pours were good, which is nice. Great selection as well. Food was good, though the order was chicken amd not beef nachos. They were great, which is why nothing was said. Service was good, could have been more attentive,, but didnt go without service. Just a personal note. Its a British style bar, the menu and atmosphere reflect that, which is awesome! The staff was friendly and service was sufficient. Thats really my only criticism, but I not thats a personal preference and it wasbt a busy night. A great place to meet friends or relax for a drink and happy get together. my favorite Mom&Pop shop probably ever. the atmosphere is great, there s a jukebox, live music over the weekends and some odd weekdays, alternating drink specials, fireplace, a couple tvs set up on every wall. the food is great and generally comes out pretty quick unless the place is slammed, bartenders are always treat you like family friends and the servers always have a great attitude. darts, pool, shuffleboard. the best part is it s location! tons of stuff to see, shop, eat, a kids playground, great for picnics.

We met some friends here and decided to sit on the patio so we could keep an eye on our kids playing in the open play area. When we entered the patio, there were two ladies with several dogs that looked to be finishing up. I was surprised to see one woman smoking beside the No Smoking sign. As we sat down, the smoker went on a tirade against her server belittling him in a very condescending tone. She mentioned frequently to the server that she was good friends with the owner and that he should enjoy being grounded after she speaks with them. Her sense of entitlement knew no bounds. They left shortly thereafter, but the whole experience was off putting. Our server was awesome despite the awkward scene. We will not be returning to this venue and I sincerely hope the owner(s) realize that their friends have cost them customers and also that they defend their employees.

Ive eaten here a few times and havent been very impressed. My wife is British and I lived in the UK in my youth, so Im always on the hunt for a good pub. This is not one. I ordered Fish and Chips. The breading on the fish was soggy and the fish wasnt very fresh. At least the fries/chips were good, but I barely touched the fish. My wife had the Irish stew. It tasted wonderful, but was served in a shallow bowl which lost its temperature quickly. The background music was a smattering of genres that was confusing. The sound system wasnt well tuned so mostly I could only hear bass. Overall, I dont plan to return. For the price of the dishes, I would expect a better experience.

The food is ok and we love this area and the outdoor music. But the service was lacking and their drinks inconsistent. While both my friend and I ordered the same drink, mine was served in a cup much smaller than his and both were mainly ice. When we brought this up, we were told the amount of alcohol is the same. We called the manager and her only solution was to offer us another half portion of the drink (which, I m sure had no alcohol). Everybody knows the high markup on cocktails, so giving us a regular size drink would have cost them much less than a bad review

Stopped at this pub for a couple glasses of wine. The wine was obviously old and the bartender was obviously indifferent when seeing two almost full glasses of wine left when I asked for the check. She made no comment and asked no questions. What a waste of money that was. - Bad Wine - Bad Vibes - Bad Bartender - Bad Bar

I would leave 0 stars if I could, I bought the first rounds for me and my friends and left a very good tip ($80) , and then my friend went to go buy his rounds for us which he is african american and would not serve him or the rest us anymore the whole night and gave us a dumb reason on why they would not serve us. Don t recommend this establishment

My husband and I like to have lunch here. He does the fish and chips. He says they do an amazing job with that dish. Yesterday I had their BLT and fried pickles. The fried pickles were amazing!!!!! We dont drink, so I am not sure on their alcohol selection.

Good experience each time. The young bartender with dark hair who s usually working is great. Wish I remembered his name. And the lady who served my husband and I on the patio was very nice. Love going somewhere when I can expect good service. It make or breaks a place. I work nearby and will continue to recommend this establishment

Stopped in and had dinner... first thing I notice was the place was filthy, the glass on the front door even was so full of fingerprints that it must not have been washed down in months the foyer was full of trash and dirt. Ok so we looked passed that (shouldnt have) the food was not any better the oil in the deep fryer must not have been changed in a while, it tasted old on the fried foods and gross. I could not even eat my food and had a upset stomach after a few bites. Our server was very nice but a bit slow considering she only had one table. The servers are all standing around talking like it is happy hour for them. I dont know maybe things changed in the servers world since I worked in the industry but we had to be busy keeping things clean if we had no tables.

Visited the Lion& Crown on a Wed night - met the owner Rob, and his daughter Ashlyn......who were such amazing hosts....I was looking forward to a Boddingtons, but unfortunately, the whole pandemic has brought shipping logistics to a delay. However, we did enjoy the vibe, the company, and the drinks & food. Rob, amazing place. Love that you always ask if we are doing ok, and if we need anything. Thats customer service at its best....an A++++. The food was totally tantalizing. Such great flavor and authentic Brit....even though Rob is Irish....this place hits the nail right on the head. Visit when you get a chance. Talk to the proprietors....and just have a great time. I recommend this place anytime. Thanks to the staff and owners for providing such a cool and relaxing atmosphere. See you soon !!!

This place is great for live music of all kinds. Usually theres cover bands there. The pool table is a bit worn down but its a good place for darts and having a few drinks. The staff was amazing and very helpful. Watched two ladies pour their own drinks from the tap and then got in trouble for it. Hilarious. Great atmosphere and ambience.

My family and I really like the food but they are not consistent. We usually order the same thing when we eat there and sometimes it s really flavorful and good but other times not so much. Also, they have switched the portions up and messed up our to go orders several times. If they were consistent, I would give them 5 stars.

We visited on 5/21 for dinner. The best thing out of the experience was the waiter. It was a shame because we had really good expectations of the place. The ambience is that of a pub, low light, a loud live band that was actually good, but made it very difficult to hold a conversation at the table. - the WHOLE NINE YARDS got a rating of 2 in a scale 1 to 10. The burger was extremely bland, including the chili. The fries were good. Good size portion. - the FISH AND CHIPS got a rating of 6 out of 10. The fish had been defrosted really fast and not cooked long enough making it leak water into the batter. This makes for a very soggy fish & chips that crumbles and dissolves shamelessly in your mouth. The batter was lacking in flavor. The fries were good. Good size portion. - the IRISH STEW received a rating of 7 out of 10. The baguette bread was decent, and the stew was almost tasty, but a really small portion, almost a free sample size. The prices were not bad but considering the quality of the food they were not worth it. I must say, we visited this place prior Covid 19 and it was so much better. Fellas, you need to seriously get a better cook and place the band, as good as they are, where they dont overpower the place. Kudos to the waiter.

It was fun, like stepping into another time. An English pub with a sweet atmosphere to dine in. The menu carried English Faire. I had fish and chips. The fish was flaky bits of fish, breaded and deep fried. It was slow when we were there but had plenty of space to have a busy Saturday at the pub.

We stopped by for a few drinks and dinner. The food portions were good and not overwhelming. The fish and chips were pretty good and my husband said the burger was great. We enjoyed the bar and watched a golf tournament on the big screen. Would recommend.

The bar tenders let a man get so drunk he couldnt walk and needed help getting into a car. Hopefully no one ends up in a deadly accident. Super irresponsible and ruins the atmosphere. Train your bar tends not to over-serve people before you lose your license to sell liquor or worse, kill someone.
