Stepping inside the restaurant, the first thing I saw was that it was very clean. Then, when I proceeded to order, the guy who helped me was very polite and helpful. He also asked what is my preference (it was my first time here), any allergies, etc. When the food is served, woah, not just how they present the dish, but the taste is awesome! Totally recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a surprisingly nice meal!

Today is 6/3/2024 @330 pm, and our casier is Ahmon. The food is very tasty, but that beef in the red stew was so chewy and fatty. Last time, it was like a brick. Maybe try some other meat besides stew meat.i will go back but ask for steak..........It was good. The beef is always tough (couldnt hardly cut with knife), if the cooks could some how tenderize the beef it would be much better. My daughter make an African stew and her meat is always tender. The stew was good and so was the fufu. The man at the counter was friendly and helpful. I would go back if I can just order stew and fufu, unless they get that meat a little tender. Otherwise flavor was good. Maybe Ill just get jollof rice next time.

My husband and I craved for a 9ja cuisine in the Dallas Area. And google brought this restaurant up being one of the few opened on Memorial Day. This spot and the food tasted just like what I read on its reviews by other customers. We got Efo riro & poundo, Okra & Eba, Rice and Ayamase sauce as takeout. Environment was clean and serene. The guy who attended to us was warmly. We enjoyed our meal to the fullest, Best naija food Ive had in a long while. I would Highly recommend if youre looking for tasty, authentic naija cuisine.

Food is really good and reasonably priced, compared to other Nigerian restaurants. I particularly enjoy the fried yam and plantain with sauce. I like the fact that I can try several things for under $30. For example: fried yam and plantain, side of jollof rice and 6 pcs chicken wings is about $28!

We got the goat jollof and okra with goat. Both were good! The meat was very tender. The okra did seem a tad oily, but maybe it s supposed to be. There was also a lot of what seemed to be sinew on the goat meat, which I wasn t expecting. Overall though my husband and I both liked our dishes. I think I would try something different next time, like the peri peri chicken which looked good.

Been itching to try some tasty new food that youve probably never had before? I highly recommend this restaurant! When we visited, we were greeted by the owner. She is very knowledgable, friendly, and witty. She answered all of our questions, and even gave us a sample. The food was excellent, and unlike anything Ive had before. The dishes are most similar to perhaps east asian cuisine, but are not spicy (although you can make it spicy if you like). The entrees can look a bit expensive at $18 to $22, but you get what you pay for in both quality and quantity. There are also $14 bowls which are plenty filling on their own. Restaurant has a modern look, and is very clean.

I always order the okra soup with beef with a side of white rice. Im from Louisiana and we eat okra in a similar fashion. I love the flavor of the soup. The beef could be a little more tender, but I still keep going. I did have some tender beef on one of my orders. Ive been purchasing from them since last year. Ive also had the pineapple ginger drink and I loved it. One day Ill venture out and try something different on the menu, but I just love okra, so its tough to choose anything else.

I picked up some egusi soup to go, and the first disappointment was that I only had 3 pieces of meat in the soup (goat meat) for the soup to be $22 and only 3 pieces of goat, that s freaking highway robbery. And then to make matters worse, the egusi had no flavor whatsoever and the pounded yam was tiny. This was my first time ordering from them, and never again.

Our beef suya, salmon bowl, and yam fries mixed with plantain were refreshing, a far cry from the standard weekend fare. I have been ordering from Jollof haus since they started last year the food is delicious hands down. Service is rapid and restaurant is always clean and if undecided the owner will tell you the best options. Which normally is everything on the menu but the best alternative on the menu per your preference. I started buying the homemade food since 2020 and from jollof to Efo Riro is my favourite including the Egusi soup. Food is not fiery spicy anyone can buy without the thought of it been spicy. I recommend the restaurant go anyone wanting to taste some African food.

Jollof Haus is hands down the best and most authentic nigerian food place in all of DFW . The locations is clean and well maintained . The food is so good that I have now made it my default nigerian food place , it is well priced and well presented too . you might as well be in a great restaurant in lagos . Dishes I have tried Efo Riro and pounded yam - the vegetables were fresh and tasty with the beef soft and tender . you would certainly want some more Branzino - well done very well done especially when combined with the sauce . authentic grilled fish much better than grilled tilapia or catfish Jollof rice - is so on point i dont know what to say . this place is as authentic as it comes . I will certainly keep coming back and trying all the dishes For context I am nigerian as well and the food is top notch !!!!!

This was my First time going out to try African food and I started simple with the order of chicken wings and jollof rice with lamb lollipops. Overall I d say the food was an easy 4/5 with the chicken wings nice and crispy while still being very juicy, and the entree was very well seasoned with a good level of spice from the jollof rice and the lamb was quite tasty as well. The only real takeaway food wise was just the price which in my option is a bit more than I m used to paying for how much I got but the quality of the food helped make up for it in most aspects. Customer service is teetering to a soft 2/5 which is why I m giving the rating I did. I came in around dinner time and was looking for a table to seat just myself but the establishment was quite busy at the time. I didn t have any trouble with waiting but I was suggested that I should share a table with some strangers otherwise I d have to wait an hour. Now normally I don t just sit with people I don t know but I didn t see the harm just this once and thankfully the people I was sat with were quite friendly after I asked if I could join them. Regardless it was more than a little uncomfortable for personal reasons but soon the other diners left and I was free to eat my meal at my own table. Or at least that s what I thought anyway, as not long after my appetizer came out another group of diners came in and as there were still no other tables available, they were promptly sat down next to me with neither the staff or the other diners even asking if I was okay with it. Suffice to say the remainder of my meal was awkward as I d been crammed into a corner with three more people I didn t know and by the time I finished my meal I just wanted to leave. In summary, food was very good, the dining experience markedly less so. If I knew that if I were to go back in again that I d actually get to eat by myself in peace it be an easy five star rating for this place but the first impression left some things to be desired. Edit: Came back for a second time to give Jollof Haus another chance and they did not disappoint in the least. Came in for lunch and had their chicken PeriPeri as well as the fried plantains and chicken wings all of which was well seasoned and very tasty. Customer experience was also much much improved in comparison to the first time as I was able to enjoy my meal in peace, and the manager even came out in person and apologized for the previous experience and stated she d personally talked with the staff over the incident which I greatly appreciated and effectively vindicates Jollof Haus as a quality establishment in my eyes which had simply been suffering from opening pains. Revising my review from its previous 2/5 to a well deserved 5/5 and will likely be back for more.

Very bad customer service delivery with a very expensive below quality food. The Jollof was artificially colored. Additionally, the receptionist guy was full of himself with an unwelcoming attitude and wouldn t even go any mile to satisfy people that were ready to pay for their service. He said He can t substitute fish to a swallowed meal except we pay for another food that comes with fish, then we can eat the fish on that meal. I have never heard of any African restaurant that can t provide fish on a swallow. Pathetic

I tried the Yam fries( perfectly fried) the Fufu and Egusi with beef (I usually struggle to eat fufu, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one, not sure why it was different but it was good). I also tried the Oxtail Pepper Soup (very spicy, but worth it if you can handle it lol) I also tried the Suya and Jollof (both were very delicious) and I tried their Pineapple/Ginger Juice (it was VERY refreshing) . I was somewhat skeptical due to the negative complaints about flavor, price and portions however, my experience was VERY pleasant. The entire staff is very friendly and courteous. The egusi was sooooo yummi! My husband got the Meh Suya(it was juicy), ate it, took the rest home. Because I do not care for bland food, I requested the egusi spicy 6/10 which was perfect! It was soooo good I ate with my fingers yall; no shame. Sorry, no pictures my food looked too appetizing. The food is good. Period! Thank you for the wonderful service & Quality authentic African food. Update! I got the Efu Riro on 02/16/23 delivered via Uber eats for the first time; man! I had given a 5 star rating and came back. However I came back and they were open and I wanted to grab a table and dine in. I was advised I maybe should come back because it would be about a hr because there was a large unexpected party. The food is amazing but the customer experience not so much. So now Im off to find another establishment. But again the food was on point.

A tucked away jewel. I attempted trying this place once but it was not open. Today it was open and I am so glad I got the chance to try it out. The food was very flavorful and well we seasoned. I got the Jollof rice. It was soo good. The best jollof I have tried so far. If you are going to have the word in the name of the business it is expected to deliver. It did just that s. The grains were loose and each had flavor. I could see the pieces of onion cooked down into it. The branzino was excellent not dry. Flavors on point. Just the right size. As you can see in the picture, I ate it before I could take a picture. The dipping sauce was creamy and well balanced with savory and sweet. The plantains were sweet and caramelized. I enjoyed it with my rice. It help to cool Doran the spice, although the rice was not that spicy. I am looking forward to going back and trying everything they have. Great spot!

Food portions are not up to par. Im used to authentic Nigerian food. I spent $30 on what shouldve been priced at $15. Three bites of meat for $18. The price is never the issue. It was the portion and taste. The red sauce was very tomato-like. Not spicy at all will stick to African Fushion. Just hate to drive 30 mins away.

We tried the egusi with beef(with fufu) and the stewed beef with jollof rice. The food was tasty but I was expecting a little more stronger flavors. The beef in egusi was a little tough. Overall great service and a must try. Will be back to try other items on the menu.

Wow .my feelings after my first bite! Firstly, walking in, the atmosphere is just the cutest! Love the aesthetic! Secondly, the cashier greeted me with a SMILE!!!! I ve been to many African restaurants and this was a FIRST! Low key, i would come back just because he was so nice! I ordered the Egusi stew w/ beef and the plantains. When he told me 15-20 min I didn t really think he meant it lol but lo and behold i didn t wait that long! Another plus! My food was HOT and smelled amazing! Y all .after That first bite it was on! I couldn t stop! Just the right amount of heat and seasoning, the fufu was so soft and tasty, and then plantains????? Sweet, with a pinch of salty and just enough crisp around the edges with soft goodness in the middle! The beef was tender with just the right amount of fat left on it .FINALLY a restaurant that got it right!!!! They are better than Aso rock, Fusion Kitchen, Mama Bs, AfrikFusion .all of which I have tried and will never go back to as long as Jollof Haus is open! Whew .this review was personal! Don t take my word for it try it for yourself
