Located downtown Abilene in a historic landmark. Nicely decorated interior. Many dishes on offer. They have lunch and dinner menu. We had stuffed avocado with chicken salad, sweet chili calamari, pecan delight and cheesecake. Good taste. We liked it.

RECOMMEND for a special occasion. Most patrons were nicely dressed, and celebrating one thing or another. We dined in as an early dinner, as visitors to the local area. Enjoyed 1) the daily special grilled swordfish, rice and vegetables 2) Fish and Chips and 3) Burger. *Fish was perfectly seasoned & prepared, Fish & chips were good and the burger was good. Service was fantastic!

The food was delicious! The staff was very accommodating, and the atmosphere felt cozy. However, the portions were a bit small, so you might need a second meal later. Its a nice spot for a date, but maybe not ideal for a business meeting. Parking is so-so. Make sure to go in early for this reason. A+

We got the sweet chili calamari and it was good- not spectacular but good. I just don t think the sauce was scratch made. I had the kitchen sink Caesar($14) and my husband had the pork chop ($34). The caesar was good, but I d advise the regular Caesar. The pork wasn t seasoned and the bacon wasn t crispy, but the croutons were delicious. The pork chop was on the small side and also boneless, which seemed like an odd choice for a $34 cut of pork. The service was great- although there is a ceiling to the amount of times management should check on one table during a single meal, maybe once is the ceiling. Overall, not bad, just overpriced for mid-level food.

The food was mediocre at best and very expensive for the poor quality. The steak was clearly sous vide but barely seared. It did not look appetizing. They offer one type of potato a day so if you want a baked potato on mashed potato day you are out of luck-unacceptable when you are paying $40 for a steak dinner. Portions were on the small side for the price. Wheelchair accessibility: Available

This is a very good restaurant in Abilene. The cocktail, the Abilene Reviver, their version of a corpse reviver was good and their wine selection was pretty good. I enjoyed my entree of their dinner special of venison and my wife had the Lighthouse pasta which she enjoyed. Glad we went and would gladly return when back in Abilene. Great location downtown too! Didnt care much for the calamari appetizer, felt it was over-sauced and just okay.

My husband and I were passing through Abilene Texas and was looking for places to eat downtown. Cypress Street Station was rated high so we decided to try them out. So glad we did, it was a wonderful fine! The place was beautifully decorated and the building has been there since the 1920 s , it has great personality! The staff were all so friendly and very welcoming when we arrived. Our waitress was excellent also so very attentive and so nice!! But y all the food was really really great!! We got to meet the owner and she was really nice too . So my advise to you is , if you are come to or passing through AbileneTexas liked us,take the time to stop by and have a meal with these folks. You will not regret it!! Great experience, great restaurant.

We had such a great time here for lunch! We brought along a baby and they had a high chair and were super sweet to us! The manager came by a couple of times to check how things were. The food was GREAT! Frankly we are traveling and didn t know what to think and just picked a place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The atmosphere is so cute and the staff was lovely. I got the bayou Florentine and it didn t disappoint! Haven t really found a good Cajun pasta until today! Thank you guys for great pit stop! For parents of babies: there was not a changing table (in the women s) but they did have a decorative table that I was able to use with my traveling changing pad. Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and no changing table but have a decorative table you can use if you ve got a traveling changing pad.

It is the one and only place where everyone should experience a truly exceptional dining experience, while in Abilene. I must say, the service was truly exceptional. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile and attentive staff. They were prompt in taking my order and making sure all my needs were met throughout the entire dining experience. Current: Take out burger was great, but the fries (had actually ordered chips) were under seasoned and chewy most likely from having to be in a take out box. Eat it inside the restaurant for the best experience. Best, maple old-fashioned in Texas! I recommend the fried green tomatoes, hot mess burger, and lighthouse pasta.

More like Train Wreck. With the tiny portions and bad food they should be ashamed of their prices. Eaten here on and off over for about a decade and, I dont know whats happened over the past few years, but the food is officially meteocre. Gone is the quiet, romantic dining experience by a fire over a delicious plate with live, soft piano music in the background. This place used to really be special and now it is plain sad. Tried having lunch here today and made the mistake of ordering the chicken cesar. It is $15 before tax so I was expecting a BIG salad. There was barely enough lettuce to cover the bottom of the bowl with a FLAVORLESS chicken breast on top. Far more chicken than lettuce. I really hope they were not calling that blackened. I cant recall the last time I ate anywhere that served a cesar so pathetic yet here we were at a supposed upscale venue. It was INEXCUSABLY bad for the price!! The corn bread muffins were hard, small, and seemed a day old. We wanted to order trout, but the lunch menu is terrible and seriously lacking on seafood options. Who the heck goes to Cypress Street Station for a bunch of overpriced diner sandwiches??? All they had was barramundi for fish so we reluctantly agreed to try it. The waitress said it was similar to trout. It was not even close. The taste had a much stronger fishy flavor and the texture was closer to Mahi. The seasoning was not complementary and too light. The broccoli was under done, under seasoned, cold, and the fries were not crispy. They charged us $2 to put 8 tiny blueberries on our creme brulee. That was the final straw. We were disappointed in nearly every aspect of the meal aside from the clam chowder and martini but we did not have time for them to fix all of that. Typically you may infrequently wind up with one plate that needs remaking but this was a disaster from start to finish. For $70 we certainly wished wed gone elsewhere. Now I know why we were the only ones there. We will stick to to gos of the chowder if we return at all. We have tried CSS about four times since the ownership change and there has been no improvement. When your low reviews all say the same things TAKE A HINT!!! Galveston seafood outdoes whats offered here by a landslide. At least youll have gotten something you enjoy eating when youre paying the expensive bill. Beehive is another great place to eat downtown. Theyre more of a steak house but, again, MUCH better food.

placed a to-go order for a caesar salad with chicken. The amount of salad I got for $16 ($20 with tip) was laughable. If I can see the bottom of my to-go container with all the lettuce spread out its simply not enough. the chicken had a funny almost liquid smoke like taste to it. It was just a disappointing salad. Now if I was charged $8 for the salad then it would have been solid. The service was amazing but food disappointing.

Got to visit Cypress Street Station a few weeks ago and wanted to write a fair review. Overall, it was good and will definitely go back 7/10 Our hostess was very kind, and our server was informative & so sweet. Appetizers & drinks were excellent, fried green tomatoes are a must. I ordered the fish and chips- shoestring fries were seasoned well, and tatar sauce had great flavor. Wasnt a fan of the fried fish as there was a off putting texture, and it could have been fried better. I wont be ordering again Husband ordered the Pastrami sammie, will order again but will ask for extra dressing & sauerkraut since it was almost non-existent in flavor and for it to be toasted longer. Homemade chips that came with it were overseasoned, there is wayyy too much cumin in there seasoning mix and all I could smell was BO when trying to eat them , we got a good laugh over that so fries next time too. Desserts were yummy- our server recommended a off menu toffee bundnt cake w/a Chai spice ice cream, and it was SO GOOD! The Triple comfort chocolate cake was good but couldnt taste the bourbon ganache. However, the espresso whipped cream more than made up for it.

Food could be better for the price, the fish and chips is a no go, definitely not cod. More like Vanderbilt frozen dinner. Pork chop was thick. Which was great, but no flavor except for the sauce, tasted like it was baked, would be better grilled with salt and pepper....service though was spot on, and dont advertise Portuguese clam chowder when it is not even close....dont get me wrong...the soup was good. But being of Portuguese decent from a Portuguese city in New England, I know what authentic is....

I left a 5 star review more than 4 years ago, but needed to give it an update. We dined at Cypress Street last week with a large group of RV dealers. The entire team went out of their way to make sure our group was well cared for. Our drinks were amazing, food was fantastic, and the service was above and beyond. I told the manager on duty this, but want to leave it here for management or anyone looking for a private booking. We dined at 3 places during our meetings. Cypress stood out far above the rest in every way. We will of course be back ourselves, but will always look to Cypress Street when we need to book for a group. 10 Stars!

The hostess and server were awesome!! One of our party began having a diabetic issue. They quickly got us to a table and brought crackers and water, checked with us frequently and were most friendly. The food was very good. We recommend the Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich on Brioche. The chicken was tender and juicy, the cheese had a nice tang but ham was abut lacking. Only one half of the sandwich had ham-two small chunks. To us, sliced ham would have been preferable. The french fries were undercooked but, as soon as we told the server, she quickly brought us fries which were properly cooked. Very impressed with the service. The cafe has cute decor and plenty of seating. This cafe is conveniently located near several Abilene attractions.

Ratings were correct! Good food, good service. Touch slow on order to table time but the food was excellent. Had the quesadillas, meat loaf sandwich and chicken tortilla soup. All were as good or better than any that I have had elsewhere. Worth a visit

Super nice hidden gem in downtown abilene. Amy was very friendly and the steak and potato quesadilla with guac dip is something I would drive back from Alabama again for! lunch was quiet and very enjoyable but if youre coming for dinner make a reservation.

Food was disappointing - quail was incredibly salty - calamari came drenched in sauce and was soggy.

My wife and I just spent our fifteenth anniversary dinner here, and it was one of the best dining experiences of our lives! They even offered us free champagne! And there Creme Brulee was fantastic! This will most definitely become one of our new favorite places to dine in Abilene!

I love this place so much!!!! Jacob the Chef is a amazing cook and I go to this restaurant mainly because of him. He checks on us and he makes sure we get EXACTLY what we want. He is the heart of this restaurant in my opinion!!! Also Mathew is a amazing manager aswell along with the owners. Any owner that is at the restaurant helping and not at home means alot in my book!!!! Everytime I have a special occasion I come to Cypress Street Station along as Jacob is there because he knows what I like. Thanks guys for another great night!!!!

FANTASTIC place to dine, relax, and socialize in downtown & historic Abilene. Our service for lunch was 5-star and the fare likewise. They have plenty of space, a great bar area, and seating for groups too. Truly, a 5-Star + + establishment!

It was my birthday and I was looking forward to having lunch at Cypress but it was disappointing. We went there for homemade potato chips and they were cold and stale. My SO s burger was supposed to be medium well. It was very well done. We didn t ask for a manager. We just left. My birthday lunch was a downer.

We went to Cypress St. to celebrate my daughter-in-laws birthday. The food from appetizers to dessert was spectacular. Our server was knowledgeable, engaging and provided superb service including not charging me for a draft of IPA because it was at the end of the keg and was just shy of a full glass. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. I will definitely return for many excellent meals in the future and highly recommend this classy establishment.

Excellent service but disappointed with the food. I ordered the fish and chips and should know better. When in Texas order a steak and not fish, especially here. The fish was more like fish sticks out of a box. Throw this fish back. Too small on taste!

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food and phenomenal staff. We saw it was listed as pet friendly, so we went since we had our dog with us. They brought a little dish and some fresh water for our dog before they even brought us water. They have a nice, cozy little patio to eat on if you have a pet. The food was great. The fish and chips was easily 10/10 and their wild berry cheesecake was easily some of the best cheesecake Id ever had. Overall, easily 5/5 stars. I will be back!

Visit #1- Oct 4.22 I came here for late lunch, and there were no crowds. The service was fast and very attentive. I ordered the Rainbow trout and substituted fries for a double salad. I must say that I was not super impressed since the fish was not fresh and drier than expected. The salad tastes precise how it looks in this picture. I will give another chance to this place since they have a diverse menu. My first impression is not the greatest, but second chances are essential in all relationships. Visit #2- Oct 10.22 I visited Cypress Street for the second time. I believe we all deserve a second opportunity. I ordered the special of the day, which was Mahi Mahi. I liked the plate in general. The fish was well-cooked, and the pasta was tasty. I think the fish could have had a bit more spices to remove the solid fishy flavor, but it was ok. I do not believe this dish should be almost fifty dollars. I will give this place a third chance. I am not impressed by the venue or the food, but I am impressed with its prices. Visit #3- Oct 18.22 A couple of friends invited me for lunch at Cypress Street for my birthday. My salad was the special of the day. The waitress did a great job in describing the dish, and she was correct; the salad was delicious. Of course, we had a good time in conversation. The venue is always busy but not loud. We finished our food and requested the check, which Amanda, the owner, brought in person. Amanda was very generous and even offered free dessert for my birthday. That type of hospitality is what makes businesses stand out. The third time was a charm.

Small portions, little seasoning. The food was cooked well but had little to no flavor. One of the spicy options tasted like thousand island dressing. Service was good. Atmosphere was good. Most dishes are not in the $10-20 range as reported. I wouldnt go without a gift card.

Cypress has always been and continues to be a great choice for great food and drinks. I dont make it here as often as I would like. When I want to have a great wine with my dinner there is no other place in Abilene that compares with wine and food choices. There is something for EVERYONE, kids included.

Our server Peyton was very helpful and cognizant of food allergies on the menu, which was amazing to see and very much appreciated. Service was overall great, everything from the hostess stand (authentic warm welcome) to kitchen staff (making delicious, allergy friendly food). We had the filet, trout, chicken and pastas. Amanda and team- keep up the great work!

My wife and I decided to celebrate her birthday on Saturday 8/27/22 and this was one of the 3 restaurants she picked out. We hadnt been to any of them. We decided on this place. We went in during dinner service not knowing reservations were the norm but they got us a seat within 30 minutes. So that was really nice! We ordered the sweet chilli calamari for our appetizer. It was spectacular! Cooked to perfection, not chewy, perfectly tender with a crisp bite on the outside. My wife had the pesto mushroom chicken pasta and she loved it more than she could imagine. I had the petite fillet.. Ive got to tell you. Ive had so many filets from excellent establishments and they all are fantastic. HOWEVER, this fillet was heads and shoulders above the best Ive ever had. I opted to have the mushroom demi glaze topped on the fillet. Just phenomenal! The service was excellent as well, dont get me wrong. It complimented the high level of quality on our plates very well. We will most certainly be making reservations from now on. At a minimum of once a week.

We chose Cypress St Station for a nice family lunch to celebrate getting remarried. The staff members were very friendly, and the food was so delicious. The filet was amazing! My father in law said that was one of the best burgers hes ever had, and we all loved the house made chips. My kids really enjoyed the whole experience. We will definitely be back. Thank you for helping us celebrate!
