Host seated us quickly and in a spot that fit all the guests comfortably. Service was awesome from a great young lady, Gentry. Attentive, great work ethic and enjoyed being there. Food hit the spot even though I got the home style chicken, mashed potatoes and rice. Others got breakfast and they said it also hit the spot. Great place to consider to stop when you go through.

The roasted broccoli was so spicy hot that I was unable to eat it. Salad was not bad after I cut the core out of the tomato. Grilled catfish was good, not great. I will say the fried apples were great! This is so different from the Cracker Barrel of just a couple of years ago. On another note, I would normally get the pinto beans and turnip greens, but I was told they were unable to source these item. I can probably understand the greens, but can t get pinto beans REALLY?

We showed up with a huge party of 19. There was a misunderstanding of how many seats and high chairs we needed and the manager, Jose , gave us another table to accommodate our family better. I usually like cracker barrel but today I tried the chicken dippers and this has got to the the worst chicken Ive had in a long time. Very rubbery, very bland. Same with the mashed potatoes and green beans. It takes me back to the days of eating cafeteria food from middle school. The saving grace is the staff and how friendly they are. I didnt need to ask for much as they had a variety of sauces and even my buffalo sauce which if it wasnt for the buffalo sauce Im not sure I could get these chicken tenders down. The mash potatoes were probably the best thing on the plate and only after I used salt and pepper to make them less bland. Over all I give a 3 star and the staff and service is the only reason Id return. Not for the food.

My waitress, Priscilla, was VERY attentive and friendly. She kept my coffee full. It was nice to see her smile and upbeat because they are SLAMMED right now. Food was okay. Eggs were cold and the Pancakes were cooked in a lot of grease. They were swimming before the syrup went on them. Fried apples and bacon are always a win and the coffee is fabulous as always! My wife and I, plus our 18-year-old son, arrived around 7:30-45 pm (19 Aug 24), and not a lot of customers in the dining area. It took a few minutes to get us seated, but we moved quickly to another table because, the person seating us decided to wipe that table--not with a clean wipe cloth mind you, while seating us. Our server (Caliegh sp?), was cheerful and pleasant. She took our orders and unexpectedly had to return TWICE to say items we ordered (fish) they ran out (odd). I had to wait for my refill (actually remined Caliegh that still need my Dr Pepper). Food arrived pretty decent time, but not fully hot and one in error. My wife ordered shrimp WITHOUT any onion bits, but somehow, they were on the shrimp--the order sheet did show NO ONIONS. It was taken back and a new(?) plate returned--still a piece of onion was on the shrimp. In summary, a good visit and adequate food. We fully understand that arriving at a restaurant like Cracker Barrel 2.5 hours before closure, certain foods can be short, or they run out of. Next time, we will plan to arrive at 4:30--5:30 p.m., the time seniors arrive to eat dinner.

If I could give a negative I would. This is by far the worst cb around. We did a Togo order after we placed our order we were told after 20 mins they didnt have some items we wanted . Then we had to wait longer to even get the food we first ordered. They forgot our drinks. We live about half a mile from the store and most of the food was cold. This isnt the first time this had happened. When you have to wait over 30 mi s for food and the place isnt even crowded something is wrong. Be warned. It will take a long time to get your food and then it will be wrong/ or cold.

I m not from Abilene but drove in for the day to pick something up. Stopped at Cracker Barrel for some breakfast. Food was lukewarm and not as tasty as we remember, which I can get over The kicker was, when we went to pay, the system was down. They were only accepting exact change - no cards, couldn t give change for higher bills. I m sorry but this is 2024, there should be some sort of protocol for this. We were told we couldn t leave to go get cash from an ATM because it would be like walking our ticket. So I left my mom at Cracker Barrel as a ransom and took my 2 toddlers to stand in line at a bank inside Walmart just to get exact change (this is where GPS took me - I m not from Abilene so not familiar with atm locations). It was ridiculous. We were waiting on the system longer than it took to eat our food. Not ONCE was a manager spotted through the whole debacle. They were apparently in the back on the phone trying to figure out the issue.

Brought some co-workers to have a good old fashioned meal. The steak we ordered was not medium rare it was medium well and had to be sent back however they did replace it with a medium rare steak. However the steak was lacking flavor. The breaded shrimp tasted like they were frozen out of the bag and thrown in the deep fryer. However the chicken strips were okay. The beef tips were on point as well and you can never go wrong with bacon mac and cheese well most of the time at least here it was good. Dont know if Ill return for a steak dinner but it is still a good place to eat however the quality is lacking somewhat compared to other places in Abilene. Vegetarian options: They do accommodate for those with food allergies and probably served dishes without meat. Dietary restrictions: It clearly states on their menu to let the server know if we have any food allergies. Wheelchair accessibility: There was plenty of space for wheelchairs.

On Tuesday, the 16th, we ate at Cracker Barrel in Abilene. had my very favorite chicken and dumplings from the lunch special with a side of dumplings. They have hands down THE best dumplings I ve ever had eating out. However, the last two times we ve eaten there, the chicken and dumplings have been WAY too salty!! So salty, they were almost not edible. I m not sure why I didn t send them back, because they have the best customer service! The food was wonderful, the service was good, but the customers were extremely loud, as everyone raised their voices to be heard above the other customers, in an effort to talk with their dining partners. The waitresses, then, had to raise their voices to be heard. The atmosphere became rather chaotic, as a result of the noise. We hurried through our meal to escape the noises. Outside, it was quiet, but I noticed everyone was sitting in the rockers, busy on their phones. Parking: There are not enough handicap parking spaces available for busy times, such as Sunday morning. We had quite a walk, because we could not find an available parking space.

Update.....! Im guessing that you didnt get the point with my last review..... Let me spell it out for you. DO BETTER OR YOU WILL LOOSE A CUSTOMER...! Ever location that I visit has some kind of uniform to the portion size of there food. But yours doesnt! I come in the other day and the chicken fried chicken was over cooked. You tried to make it right. Thank you for that. This morning I come in for breakfast and the pancakes are small and your cook doesnt know what over medium is when it comes to eggs. DO BETTER...... I have been visiting this location 1 to 2 times a month every month for 3 years. Love the food and atmosphere. Customer service is okay but needs some work. I have always done my best to make my customers feel welcome and do what ever it took to keep them happy and appreciated. If you have customers waiting out side the door and its 5 minutes till open, Open the door and let your customers in. I personally think that a customer should feel welcomed dont make them stand there and wait 5 minutes. If it was my place I would open the door the second I had seen a customer walk up even if it was even 15 minutes before. Make your customers feel like they are the most important person to you! After all they chose to eat there. We could have always chosen to eat somewhere else. Please keep that in mind when you want to make us wait.

We went to dinner with family. Our waiter was new but he did a great job. He did everything we asked and more. I purchased a book and a dress for a toddler. The clerk who checked me out helped me to use my gift card and then pay the balance of the purchase with a credit card. She was very knowledgeable about how to use both on the same purchase.

My husband and I went on a Wednesday night because of their special. Their portions were ridiculously small for the main dish. (See pictures) The server, while having a great personality, seemed over booked tables so drinks werent refilled. We didnt get the chance to tell the server about the portion and when we told the cashier they didnt do anything about it. Other than finding green beans in my mashed potatos, the flavor of the food was delicious.

So, we waited for over an hour for our meal. When my NY strip steak finally came, it had no taste, no seasoning and was very tough! I ordered over medium but it chewed like well done. The coffee was good. Just dont order the steak if you go there!

The waitress was friendly, and kind, smiled, gave good suggestions. Even offered drinks to go. She was so pleasant. Said thank you and good bye, please come again. Meghan is a very good waitress. Wheelchair accessibility: You pull right into your space, go right into the restaurant. The lady who seated us wasnt told the place she seated us wasnt open. Another couple had same problem. We sat for 30 minutes before we realized something was wrong. We got yp to leave, they said wait. So we sat at the end of the area. We waited, for 45 minuted for the food. Waiter was very nice. Kept our drinks full.

This is a very busy restaurant. The servers are responsible for too many tables. Our server was slow but she was working hard and doing her best. Please stop putting tables right next to each other. I don t want to be able to hear the conversation of others or for them to hear mine. Please STOP allowing non-service dogs in the eating area. The food was not good especially for the price. Cracker Barrel is one of our favorite places. The server came to our table 4x. Never offered a refill or asked how anything was. The fried chicken was delicious. Everything else was very greasy. The chicken fried steak was horrible and tasted freezer burned is the best way to describe. My littles pancakes were drenched in grease. Her favorite is pancakes and she didn t finish them. Eggs and hash brown cassarole were ok. The caramel latte coffee was yummy!

Im traveling solo and decided to enjoy a sit-down meal. I stood at the host station for almost 15 minutes with no welcome or even acknowledgment from staff members, even as they walked past me. After 10 minutes, a family joined me at the host stand and said they had been on the wait list for 30 minutes. After they joined the stand, a server made eye contact and mouthed shell be right with you as he was heading into the kitchen. The next 3 employees that passed didnt say anything. The woman at the front counter checked out a couple of people, but much of the time was straightening the counter. I realize that its late on a Friday (9:40), but over half of the dining room was already closed, and most of the people seated already had their food. Its been nearly a year since I ate at a Cracker Barrel, but this might be the last time I try. Im very disappointed.

Ive stopped at this location twice this year as Im driving through the area and order on the app to pick up curb side. Both times, Ive waited a good while in the parking spot awaiting the food. The first time, I just assumed was a fluke, until I called in questioning the wait time. The waitress apologized for the wait, but still had to go back in because they had forgotten my drink. The second recent time I was there, same thing happened again. Only this time, they were not busy. When they brought out my food, it was all cold. My family and I have always enjoyed dinning in, but I dont think Ill be doing curbside anymore.

It was Mothers Day. Super crowded. Used the app to get on the wait list at #25. Got in, got a table. Extremely fast service. Tried the Biscuit Benny. Pretty good! Parking: Living in an RV, Cracker Barrel is one of our go-to locations to boondock.
