Ive eaten here twice now. First time I got their breakfast burrito with bacon, egg, cheese and potatoes (I think). It was pretty good but the ratio of egg to other ingredients were not to be desired. My most recent visit today I got the bean and cheese burrito ($7.49). Taste of the food was good but man the portion was highly lacking. For that price it should not look like I ordered a kids meal bean and cheese burrito.

I like their Clydes Combo -- two soft tacos with fajita meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and grilled onions and bell peppers, served with choice of black beans and rice or refried beans. Best of all, it is neither greasy nor too spicy.

I expected a lot more from the placement and pricing for this place. We ordered Chips and queso Chips and delta force Nachos with beef Quesadilla with shrimp Crispy taco Beef street taco The chips are great texture and quantity but had no salt. The queso was velveeta and rotel. Nothing really queso about it. My 5 year old put it away though. The delta force salsa was super bland. No salt or seasoning, just fire roasted tomatoes and a mild poblano pepper flavor. (Note: we could not find the sauce heat ranking anywhere on the website menu) The nachos were good. Fried corn tortillas, not the thin chips from the dips. Lots of toppings but the beef was a prepackaged, no flavor kind. No seasoning, no grilled flavors. The quesadilla was a rip off. The shrimp were precooked and dumped whole on the tortillas. No char on the tortilla and it was wet even with the toppings separated. The crispy taco was the best item. Stuffed full, fresh fried tortilla. The street taco was the same beef as the nachos so while it was full, it lacked a lot. In the end the value just wasn t there. Edible but not return worthy.

We gave this place a try after reading a bunch of good reviews. I have no idea where all of these 5* reviews are coming from unless a lot of people have low standards for tacos. We eat tacos at least once or twice per week. The service was great, the restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was good. The food was bad. I had a brisket taco, fajita beef taco, and a fish taco. Wife had chalupa combo. Most of the food was all bland, especially the brisket since they forgot all of the toppings. I had meat and tortilla. The meat must have been sitting in the container, dry, for days as it tasted like nothing but the plastic/cardboard container and oddly had a sweetness to it and was very tough. Quite possibly the worst brisket taco I have ever had. The fish taco had some browning lettuce and some tomatoes and a strong fishy odor. The consistency was like ground turkey, it just crumbled as soon as I touched it. Hard pass. The fajita beef was actually better than I expected after the first two tacos but still bland. Rice was ok, lots of cumin. The beans were like modeling clay. My wife had the best item, 2 beef chalupas but they were actually tostadas so that was a surprise when we were expecting chalupas. I might go back to try the breakfast tacos but otherwise dont recommend. I took a couple pics but unfortunately not before eating. Pictured is the brisket taco, rice and beans, and chalupa.

Honestly, I d rather buy tacos from Taco Bell. We re a family of 4 who eat out weekly at restaurants from all price ranges. We were craving tacos on Friday evening and opted to try this place. They were having happy hour and we purchased the sirloin taco 10-pack, queso and chips, a cheese quesadilla, and two house 18oz margaritas for a grand total of $69.46 pre-tip. I m skeptical of all margaritas since I hate overly sweet and sugary margaritas and that s exactly what we got; think, my stomach hurts after having too much candy. It s safe to say, I ll stick with my favorites from now on.

I got the enchiladas and nothing had any flavor at all, the pork tastes wet and was not seasoned. The pork tasted more like tuna than anything. It wasnt worth the price we paid at all. To make things worse later that night both my husband and me got very sick.

A few years ago when Rusty Taco in Murphy went under I went into serious mourning (I know this sounds slightly dramatic, but its not). My friends and I loved absolutely everything about that place, the food, the service, the atmosphere, and we havent been able to find anything in the area to replicate it since. On a whim we decided to go to Taco Joint for lunch today to check it out. We were absolutely not disappointed! First of all they offer daily specials during the week which is a great way to try out new things on the menu. The staff was very friendly and accommodating when answering questions about their menu. I got the Friday lunch special which was spicy shrimp tacos, it included beans and rice as well as a drink. We also snagged chips and queso. All of the food was fresh and delicious, the fountain drinks and nugget ice were the cilantro on the proverbial taco. Love the atmosphere here, super laid back and a cool vintage vibe! We have absolutely found our new taco hang out!!!

I hope things get better. My wife and I are always excited for new restaurants to open in Wylie and surrounding areas. When I saw the sign I made a swift upturn and decided to try them out. My wife had the daily egg scramble although this was dinner and she finished it with no complaints. The kids want Pei Wei next door so the wife handle that. I ordered 3 street tacos (briskett, shrimp, and spicy pork) but I wanted to sample more so I ordered the two enchiladas with rice and beans. I did not enjoy one single item other than the root beer soda from the soda fountain. The brisket was really wet and not seasoned, the shrimp was a miss with all the tiny shrimp, the spicybpork also left a lot to be desired and there was no onion, cilantro, or lime to accompany the street tacos. I couldnt do more than two bites of either enchilada; the rice and beans were okay. Overall, I was very dissatisfied with my meal. I want to say that will give them another chance but I will be very conservative in how much to order.

Taco joint Wylie is pretty dope. Friendly, fast, and customer service was excellent. We got the Spicy Pork combo, Dr.Js queso, margarita, and brisket taco combo. Sadly, the spicy pork wasnt spicy at all and kinda bland, but it pairs well with salsa rojo which is an unlimited condiment. The spicy ranch is a must. The queso was super good. Nice flavor and hot. I got a two for one coupon in the ad pages so we decided to give this place a try. I got the combo plate with a fish taco and a brisket taco. Here is my honest opinion because that its what youre looking for, right? I thought the fish taco was a bit too fishy. It wasnt too bad but I think the fish could have been cooked with more seasoning too overcome some of the fishiness. The brisket taco was also not too bad, however, what youre getting on the taco is a long piece of brisket which has not been sliced into smaller pieces, so every bite you take youre biting against the grain which makes it very stringy and chewy. The flavor was pretty good, but the meat needs to be chopped or something to avoid the stringiness. The jalapeno ranch was quite tasty and you can get all of it that you want. Im sure I will go back to try some of the other dishes because much of it sounded very good.

Took a few minutes for the cup bagger to come around to second register and take my order. They were moderately busy, and good food takes time, so the 10-minute wait for my 5-Alarm Burrito was worth it! Two bites of each and we knew we didn t want anymore There were only a couple of things that were decent. Very nice staff members and the restaurant was clean. The only thing was the food, it was not horrible but it didnt have taste. My husband got the enchiladas with green sauce, and the sauce had no taste, I did enjoy the refried beans. Over I would have to think about coming back.

Delicious! This place exceeded my expectations. Went with my family and had the chips and queso (thin, but quite tasty), and between the four of us we ordered 7 different varieties of taco. All were good. I had the spicy pork and the fajita beef. The beef was tender, flavorful, and cooked just how I like it, with a little pink in the middle of the meat. The atmosphere is fun with 70s album art working the walls, lights strung across the ceiling, and vibrant colors everywhere. Staff was friendly and the food came out pretty quick. There was no wait to order, and the tab including drinks and tip was about $15/person. Will definitely be back. Oh, and the jalapeno ranch! Spicy, but I loved it.

I love taco joint. Ive been coming for almost 10 years to their various locations I was very sad when their Richardson location closed during the pandemic. They have really great breakfast items especially the hangover plate. Their tacos are not cheap but they are also a good size. Give taco joint a chance and you will not be disappointed.

This was our first time and I was mostly happy with all our food, with the exception of the salsa. It was ridiculously hot. So hot that there was no taste, just heat. I am hoping this was an opps and not the norm. Other than that, I would definitely give the place a second try.

I stopped in for the first time yesterday morning to pick of breakfast for my office. The service was great! The employees took great care of me. When I made it to work, everyone was so impressed with the quality and quantity of the food. The breakfast tacos are the tiny sad kind you get at other breakfast tacos spots. I am going to make this one of my regular spots.

Ive been here twice since and will come back again. I was equally impressed with the quality and taste both times. Great portion size on the burritos. Unfortunately the second time the chips didnt make it with the queso...... but all and all I will still come back.

Very disappointed in this place. Food was really bad. Brisket tacos tasted like pot roast in gravy. The chicken burrito (we asked for beef but they gave us chicken) was totally lacking any kind of seasoning. It would have been cheaper and better to go to Taco Bell.

Typical taco joint to me. I agree with other comments that its flavorful I got the big B and it was mostly tortilla and lettuce hardly any meat . The beef taco was nasty.

This is a hard review for me to write because I love supporting small business and understand reviews are important, however, I believe its important to also be truthful. My hubby and I visited the Taco Joint this past weekend and had a great time while we were there. The food tasted great and the staff was also very friendly!! My hubby had tacos and I had the fish salad... Within a few hours of getting home I became very sick, and it became very evident as the day progressed that I had food poisoning. I hadnt eaten anything other than hard boiled eggs earlier that morning. I want to be optimistic and say it was something else, but thats very unlikely. Im curious to see if anyone else reportes food poisoning? With a restaurant needing brand new, I understand these sorts of things can happen. So my hubby and I may be willing to try this place again, but it wont be for a while.

I was hoping this was going to be good. Let me start with the positives. The queso picoso and guacamole were delicious. The staff was friendly and very attentive to the customers. My wife and daughter had the veggie burrito and liked it. Now the negatives the brisket tacos that the three of us had were terrible. The tacos are extremely greasy. They had lemons but no limes for the tacos. They are better cheaper options in Wylie. Tacos are over 3.50 per taco.

I was so excited to see this pop up in my area! I used to frequent the downtown Dallas location when I worked in that area! The chips were a bit greasy, that s why I m giving 4 stars, but otherwise everything was just like I remember. I will be back!

Let me be fair and start with the positives: very spacious with plenty of sitting available, very clean, has the new smell, love the salsa bar, marinated beef tacos are flavorful, and the jalapeño ranch is delicious. The manager is very friendly. Let me share my opinion with areas for improvement: margarita drinks are $9.50 for 18 oz,... ouch! Theres an opportunity to improve on their customer service. Several young adults working but not personable at all. Lack of consistency with picking up orders with dine-in. My name was called and I had to get up while others had order taken to their table. Tacos with corn tortillas, the tortilla was not warmed at all, so it fell apart when bitten . Come support and have your own experience.

Stopped in on a whim to try this new spot out, but probably wont be back unless were starving to death. Interesting atmosphere, everything was clean and new. Service was definitely untrained and acted like they had no idea what they were doing. The margaritas were strong tasting, but somehow didnt have any alcoholic affect. Food was bland and unseasoned, with cold undercooked chicken. The salsa was watery, and had a faint taste of cleaner. The salsa dispenser was likely not rinsed and dried well enough before refilling. The fountain drink machine was also adjusted to not dispense enough syrup, so it was tasteless. The food also digested in the same way eating spent nuclear fuel would, as im still stuffed after eating a couple of tacos 12 hours ago, which is indicative of using bulk pre-processed ingredients that arent fresh. It was also on the same price point as torchys, or velvet taco, but way worse quality and variety. Definitely not worth it. Parking: The guy who parked next to us got crashed into. Park at the Kroger.
