Heard about this place on coffee walk with Dennis Collins, visited friends down here and we went. Definitely the best bbq Ive had, the brisket is so moist you dont need sauce. Mac and cheese was delicious, the peach cobbler is to die for. The owner and his son are great people, great atmosphere, great food. Will definitely be going back next time we visit

I am embarrassed that it has taken me so long to try this gem out! Upon entering we were greeted by 2 smiling gentlemen, I later found out it was Clint (owner) and Olin (hard worker and also Clints Dad). The restaurant itself is very clean and looks like a good BBQ spot should. I cant explain it but its not kitchy or forced. We ordered 1lb moist brisket, 1/4 rack ribs, potato salad and Mac and Cheese. Lets face it...all of those items at any BBQ spot need to be amazing to make it a great meal (for me and the husband anyway) We sat down and dug in. I tried the brisket, then the potato salad, then the Mac and cheese....oh wait let me try a bit of the sauce (not really needed because the meat is so delicious) but that was good also! I was looking for something to not be good or not be amazing but everything was top notch. One of the best things about the food is that you can tell they put love and hard work into it and they dont copy anyone else. The Mac and cheese had a few types of cheese, you could taste the deepness of it and know that its homemade. The potato salad had the slightest hint of German potato salad flavor but still would appeal to the true, country, TX population. Oh, we tried a Range Ball (I think thats what the egg, sausage and bacon goodness was called) all I can say about that is that you need to go get one...tonight. I wanted to make it a proper visit and try Grandma Linkes Peach Cobbler....l really should have had dessert first. My full stomach couldnt give the proper room that Grandmas cobbler deserved but it was the best tasting cobbler Ive ever had. How can it be the best? The crust is like no other Ive ever had. Try it! Im going back tomorrow to just get some cobbler. I love BBQ and mostly smoke my own so its difficult for me to find a spot I like. I dont have to look anymore...this place beats out the big names around here and the local place(s) by far! Dont be like me and miss out for all this time!

Clint, the owner of Linkes, is the absolute best! I lived in Wylie for almost 10 years but moved to Georgia before Linkes opened. I was back in town for a visit when I stopped in and tasted the best brisket ever! It was so delicious that I called and ordered an entire brisket to take back home to my family in GA. Clint was so nice and accommodating that he came in on his day off when Linkes was closed, just to bring me a smoked brisket to take to my family. The service was great, the food (brisket, ribs, turkey, potato casserole, etc.) is out of this world, and Clint and his family (son, dad, and niece) are amazing kind and go above and beyond for their customers. I mean, how many shop owners do you know of that will come in on their day off to make a personal delivery of their product? Well, Clint, the owner of Linkes BBQ did!! I will continue to be a patron and faithfully recommend Linkes to everyone who wants amazingly scrumptious BBQ made by a stellar owner!!!

I had the good fortune to experience Linkes BBQ at a party. It was some of the best barbecue Id ever had, and Im a native Texan. Im not sure I saw anyone who didnt go back for seconds and even thirds. It was so good that people were abandoning standard etiquette and picking up pieces of brisket with their fingers to snack on, even after the meal. The following weekend, I just had to order this deliciousness for a family gathering. I called a day in advance to place my order, after reading that they tend to run low (as many excellent barbecue places do) toward the end of the day. The gentleman I spoke with was the most pleasant person and he made me feel like a long-time customer, even though it was my first order. I arrived the next day and the order was packaged hot and fresh for me. I can highly recommend the brisket and the German sausage. I typically am not a big fan of smoked turkey breast, but it was excellent as well. I love good barbecue, but I rarely find a restaurant where the sides are on par. Linkes definitely knows what theyre doing with sides as well. I enjoyed the pinto beans, the creamy macaroni and cheese, and the coleslaw. Im not a potato salad person, but my family thought it was really tasty. This place is a family-owned, labor of love for sure. I selfishly almost hate to give it such a good review because I know it will get busier, but Linkes BBQ truly deserves the accolades.

Ive been to Linkes before, today would have been the 3rd time. I havent had any issues before so today really caught me off guard. When I walked in there were 4 occupied tables and a couple in line before me finishing up an order. Right before I approached the counter to order, 2 older couples walked in. I placed my order with the older gentleman at the register and while doing so one of the older couples started placing an order with the guy cutting up the meat. Which I thought was weird because I didnt know I was suppose to order down there, I hadnt done so, the other 2 times Ive visited this establishment. The older gentleman taking my order looks down there, like whats going on. The younger guy says oh he forgot I was down there. Im not really sure how you forgot, he acknowledged that I was there when I came in, there were only 2 non white people in the place, myself being one of them. I dont get overlooked often, actually at all, and I seriously doubt thats what happened! The guy that conveniently overlooked me, was like well what can I get you. At this point, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! I left, it was rude and totally uncalled for. This is one place in Wylie that I will NEVER VISIT AGAIN!!!! DO BETTER PEOPLE. All is forgiven, Id just never suggest this place to anyone. Thanks

Easily one of the best BBQs around, I dont think you can go wrong with anything they serve here. Staff and owner are the friendliest people you will ever deal with. Showed up one late Friday night with my son, who just wanted sausage, only to find out they had already sold out of the sausage. Took my order of brisker togo so I could grab him something on the way home and the owner stopped me and gave me some cold sausage from the fridge to warm up at home. How awesome, he just saw my sons face and looked for a way to make it better. If the rating was just for the BBQ it would be a 5, but the people there really are what makes this place.

Wow, just WOW! Can I give 10 stars? Im giving 10 stars! My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch. We were greeted by the owner and his dad. Both very nice, personable individuals. We had Ribs (fall off the bone tender), sausage, and a Range ball. Whats a Range ball you ask? How about a hard boiled egg, wrapped in ground sausage, and then wrapped in bacon. Hit the smoker for awhile and there you have it... A Range ball. Different but so tasty. We tried the Pintos, potato casserole, mac and cheese and finished with a helping of peach cobbler. Everything was better than delish! Ribs were very good and oh so tender, the sausage was great, the sides were awesome and the peach cobbler... words fail me. This food wasnt just good... it was slap yo mama great! If I was a dog, Id eat your face off for just lookn at my food! This would be my go to anytime I wanted Q, if I lived in the area. Ill be going back before I leave the area. I want me some brisket... didnt have any available that day. Update: So we went back for some Brisket. Brisket is tender, juicy and very good! If youre in the area, if youre a local, if youve not tried this place... WTH are you waiting on. Get in there and try what has to be the best Q in the area!

I don t know how this little hidden gem doesn t have a line out the door and down the street. I ate at the so called number one BBQ place in our area last week(Hutchins BBQ) and the brisket and ribs were so dry you had to drown them in sauce so they didn t suck the moisture out of your mouth. Linke s meat blows theirs outta the water at almost half the price and no sauce needed. ( pic is about half of what didn t fit on my sandwich and look at the moisture in probably the best flavored rib on a 50 mile radius).

Finally had the opportunity to visit Linke s. My oldest and I went to pick up dinner for the family tonight. The minute we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and some of the nicest people. While we waited, we smelled a peach from Tennessee, and heard a little of the story behind the Linke BBq team. This family owned restaurant is the BEST! The brisket was to die for, the turkey had all my kids going for seconds, and the sides were all fresh. Our picky 7 year old gave the Mac n cheese & potato casserole a 10 out of 10! For dessert we had the peach cobbler, and O.M.G. it was incredible. We will be back, dine in next time, and be on the lookout for the jalapeño poppers Clint was teasing us all about.

I went there straight up noon. The brisket was very moist and tender with great bark. It could use more smoke flavor but I give it an 8/10. Turkey was ok, moist but again needs more smoke flavor 7/10. The rib complimentary and was awesome. Great flavor and tender 10/10. They seem to be having a supply issue with their sausage so I didn t get to try it. The pinto beans were good as a side. I will definitely go back. Oh and prices were not bad either.

I had the pleasure of driving out of my way and taking a chance on Linkes BBQ yesterday. I was honestly blown away by the owners hospitality and the food. I sampled the brisket (moist and tender with a nice bark), pork ribs (tender and lots of flavor) and smoked turkey (tender and moist). Also sampled their potato casserole (excellent), mac and cheese (nice and cheesy) and the peach cobbler. While the entire sampling was excellent, their peach cobbler (the owners grandmothers recipe) was off the chart. I am not a peach fan - unless they are in a good cobbler. This was easily the best peach cobbler I ever ate (apologies to my mother who makes a damn good peach cobbler). I did not have time to visit the unique, old west-looking downtown historic area of Wylie (N Ballard Ave), but I will on my next visit to Linkes. This is a BBQ joint that I will visit again and again... Note to new visitors - Linkes looked closed when I pulled up. Fortunately I checked the door before driving away and they were open. I gave them 4 stars for Atmosphere simply because they need to upgrade their OPEN sign so you can see it from the parking area in front of their restaurant on a sunny day. The inside was quaint and clean.

Texas BBQ is trendy and fashionable these days .. but an age-old rule in Texas still applies .. fancy BBQ locations are overpriced and generally mediokra .. while the best Q is found in unpretentious locations. German Texicans invented Texas Q. Scattershootin question: Why do some people think anyone wants to see a photo posted of their already gnawed-on food ..?

I m so glad to have found this place, I had the fatty brisket, Mac & cheese, potato salad, and Peach Cobbler. The brisket was soft, flavorful, and honest to God didn t need any sauce (just the way it s supposed to be), the sauce was really good as well if that s how you like your brisket, sweet, savory, with a mild heat. Everything tasted homemade and made with Love. The prices are well priced for what you get in my opinion, and it s a small business which makes it even better. Everyone is nice, talkative, and welcoming. Linke s BBQ does Texas BBQ proud. Highly recommended!

Nice folks, casual place, best BBQ. Everything done just right. It s about the meat, not the decore, matching shoes, precision of lighting placement and color. There is no need for a particular theme, no pro sports team regalia, no fancy dinnerware, just the best bbq. If you need blue willow dishes and crystal lighting, you re not from Texas. This family has a great product, tasty, served right, and by model people appreciable in character. It is hard for me to go out for a good meal elsewhere in 30 miles or more, and a place to recommend or bring friends. Simply unmatched, and a model for all the other places to reach. Just right. Thank you, Linke family!

Tried this placed based on the good reviews. Quiet, small, with basic country ambiance. Friendly & kind staff. Menu is limited. (Drinks & drink prices are not even listed.) No kids menu. No plate meals offered--in fact, no plates at all. Your meal is served on brown paper, on a quarter sheet pan. Meat has good taste, but is not heated--just room temperature. (What?) Their (uncovered) sides are average. Potato casserole was good, but not hot. Mac & cheese looked like it had been there awhile. Sandwiches ($10) use room temperature grocery store buns. BBQ sauce on tables is not heated. I prefer my own peach cobbler (less doughy). Ice bin was empty. Three sandwiches, 3 sides, 1 tea, 2 waters. Maybe the visit was a fluke, but well spend our $45 retirement bucks elsewhere. Very friendly, but the restaurant needs a few basic tweaks to be competitive: Primarily, serve hot food! Offer a meat & 2 sides plate option, offer a senior discount, offer a child meal, and tidy up your menu board. Add more condiments than pickles. Might try again next year. Good luck.

These SheCahGoans have found our favorite TX BBQ place, and it will take A LOT for any place to top Linkes! Out the gates, yes, the food is great, and you can tell it is made with good TX love by Clint and staff. Disclaimer: I neglected to get the gentlemans name who greeted us first and had great conversation our whole stay. How could I have missed that?! Sorry, but we could call you Grandad bc thats the vibe he had). Suzette was so nice and sat after serving us(it was fairly early in the day) to talk sports, our kids in college, and more. What a family! Clint has made his hobby/passion for smoking, grilling, and whatnot into a lucrative and loved spot that often sells out. We drove in to meet college friends while in town for a lil concert (THE CONCERT ). En route, we discovered this gem, and now Wylie is on my list when I come in for my Cowboys games. I need this bbq and the peach cobbler ( family recipe) wrapped up and in AT&T with me. That plus a W would keep this Chi-Town lady really happy. Clint, thank you for spicing up my Arnie P. as well! You made our day along with your great family/staff! See yall next time!

Food was perfect, they made sure you got what you wanted; fatty or lean brisket. I like to try the coleslaw everywhere we go and I approve! Not sweet, not too salty or vinegary, just right. They also have homemade pickles and we devoured those- light dill and crunchy! We were the only ones dinning in so it was nice and quiet. Other people came in to pick up food. Staff was attentive to make sure we had everything we wanted! We were too full for desert so we got the peach cobbler to go. Looked and smelled good too.
