Cute spot with tons of great photo ops for kids! Childrens area has a splash pad too for those hot days. Beautiful gardens (fruit garden, cacti, pizza garden, etc.) and nice well-groomed nature trails. Great for a short visit or a picnic!

Me and my little family were just cruising around Waco when we decided to go see what the lake had for us in store but ended bumping into this amazing kid friendly place had way more fun here than the lake personally!! So peaceful and seeing my little one enjoy the splash pad was just the best unexpected journey!! never know what you kind find once you re out and about with no clue what to do!! I will really recommend this place but please keep it clean and beautiful

We are so glad the Arboretum is open again! The splash pad is excellent! I recommend having your kids bring little water pails or mini watering cans to play pretend. I had a very wise friend bring them along and the kids played and played while making stew from the items at the pizza garden. All of the activities are so fun! The restroom is very clean and air conditioned. Bring water shoes because the splash pad area is slippery.

Este lugar es muy hermoso!! desafortunadamente no hay señalizacion que ayude y te indique el lugar de parqueo con facilidad!! No vimos personal del Arboretum por ningún lugar!! hicimos el recorrido por el lugar por nosotros mismos claro que sin contratiempos!! Hay espacio para que lleves tus alimentos pero eso si deja limpio como lo encontraste!!

Its beautiful here! They have beautiful gardens but also lots of picnic spots like tables with umbrellas. The kids area is great! A splash fountain and lots of playground equipment and shade trees for the parents. Its a wonderful space and would be great for weddings and parties as well.

What a thoughtfully designed space to spend an enjoyable Saturday. We loved the sections dedicated to certain species of plants, the beautiful murals, and the bird observation area. While there were activities for children, we did not have kids in our group and it was nice to be able to separate from those who did.

Beautiful grounds and Event Hall. The seniors had their High School prom over there and a great choice. The gardens are a photographers paradise. We were able to get amazing professional grade photos of the kids. The hall was very well lit with huge floor ceiling windows. Im assuming this place is very popular for wedding receptions. The kids had a great time and enjoyed themselves.

It was a trip in February and was still worth it just to get outside. Oh and its FREE yall! Very cute and small botanical garden. There are trails that we did not go on because of the mud but we did go far enough to see a bridge and benches to rest and bird watch. The kids play area is nice and I know the kids could play for hours. The actual garden was not in bloom much just because of the time of year but Id like to go back to this cute and quaint botanical garden again. Its more like a botanical park. I say that because of the limited variety compared to a full on garden. I do appreciate all of the work that went into this and will be back.

We loved visiting this beautiful place. They have a nice area for the kids. They have giant chess and checkers, merry go around, hiking trails, tables and chairs to relax in, and all kinds of plants. Its free too which is great. We will definitely come back.

My kids like the childrens play area. Its hard to say what the gardens would look like during peak growing season since its the end of a hot summer. That being said, it feels like a half finished idea. There is a lot of potential that I hope to see realized in the future.

Beautiful place to visit with family and friends. Its a self-guided experience, so you can move at your own pace and take your time exploring. The place is incredibly well kept and you can tell the care it gets. I brought my camera with me and got some beautiful pictures of flowers, pollinators, and landscape. You can walk around the grounds, hike into the wooded trails, let the kids play in the water area, and host events there. Absolutely worth the visit!

Carleen Bright Arboretum is AWESOME! The trails are gorgeous and the gardens are spectacular. The employees are out and about educating the public on birds and plants. Youll never leave with questions on your minds because they have answered it for you. I will definitely be back with my family. I highly recommend this place to my close friends and family.

Perfect place to relax and get out in nature. If the weather permits, you can work outside surrounded by nature with your laptop. The Whitehall area has ample bistro chairs and tables and also great for a picnic with friends. The bathroom is clean inside the church. Theres a childrens play area that will keep families moving and engaged. I cant wait for the splash pad too! We love the trails too and the gazebo by the trails is a great place for a photo shoot. Just be careful with little ones, the rail doesnt feel stable. I hope they fix it up.

Lovely arboretum. Newly renovated, so glad that its back open. The new trails are nice though the gravel was a little deep, we had issues pushing the stroller around, It will settle though and in the future be much better I think. Very glad that they have a lot of native plants to look at. As well as some very beautiful gardens. I cant wait to see it when everything, is blooming and more established. Its great that it is a really quick drive from most places in Waco. Definitely check out the bird blind with all the native bird species posted. The new additions of a kids play area is great along with the upcoming splash pad. This will be a great area for the families in the Waco area to enjoy nature. Parking is a little confusing at the moment, with parking around the pavilion but in time I think this is a better spot in general to park. The kids area has a toy box. Hopefully that will stay around because it was nice to have some frisbees and soccer balls to play with. Again, this is a great area for families in and around Waco.

My husband and I entered the arboretum from an unlocked gate entrance. We are new to this area and assumed this portion of the arboretum was open, due to the fact that once we entered the area, there were signs indicating that other areas of the arboretum were closed but there was nothing to indicate the area we were in was closed. After we exited the area, a woman stopped her car in front of us and very condescendingly asked, Can I help you? She then proceeded to explain to us in an extremely sassy and unkind manner that the arboretum was closed for construction. I have no idea who this lady was or what her affiliation with the arboretum is, but she was condescending, rude, and treated my husband and me as if we knew we were doing something wrong. She treated us like raucous teenagers. If this is an employee of the arboretum, I would suggest she be taught how to treat the public kindly. It really made my blood boil, and I am not impressed. My suggestion would be that if an employee or worker happens to find someone accidentally doing the wrong thing, please give them the benefit of the doubt. Something along the lines of, Hey, guys. I work for the arboretum, and I m so sorry to let you know this, but that area is closed. No worries for now! Just letting you know for next time! Treating us like fellow dignified human beings would suffice.

Oh my goodness.. this was the perfect setting for a Sunday morning champagne brunch wedding.. the huge windows and help from my florist truly made the perfect background.. the weather could not have been better and the grounds were beautiful. I wish I would give this place a -5 star review. From the beginning, one staff member (who I believe is gone now) was incredibly rude and not at all pleasant and had an attitude about rescheduling our wedding due to COVID. The City of Woodway knew about a sewer project for OVER A YEAR but waited until 60 days before my wedding to tell me I would not have access to the gardens or gazebo. In wedding timelines, this is absolutely nothing. And their apology was absolutely pathetic. Find another venue at the same price in 60 days or take $500 your fee. The day of, the attendant was rude to my family and coordinator. She made my coordinator and family sweep the ENTIRE building at the end of our reception which was not in our contract, and then tried to rush my family out the door at 11:00pm when we paid for the building until 1:00am. When asked why my family was treated so poorly I got an I m sorry, I have no idea, answer with no follow up. I wish I NEVER had my wedding here. Brides beware that this place may be pretty but the City of Woodway and the staff will make it miserable.
