Kell House Museum

About the Company

rating: 4.6

The Kell House Museum tells the history of Wichita Falls through the eyes of the Kell family. Tours of this local, state, and national landmark include stories of the Kell family, the city that grew around them, and their contributions to the community and nation. The Neo-Classical exterior and Victorian-inspired interior of the House add to the tale and help bring history to life for our visitors.

The story of the family is very impressive and the interior of the house was a work of art being ahead of its time. Wish the area put more focus on it as it was so instrumental to the surrounding area.

Unfortunately we were not able to go in the Kell house this day because they are currently closed due to covid. No one was on the property, but we did manage to take a few photos outside(I would post photos, but they have family members I them ).

I love historical houses, especially when the docents are eager to impart wonderful information about the house and its owners. The Kell House is a beautiful place to visit. The ladies joked that I now more more about Wichita Falls than most of its townspeople. Worth the visit.
