Me and my son visited on 9/13/24. I got I think half a rack of ribs with 2 strips and macaroni and cheese. My son got the chicken sandwich with fries. The place was clean and cahier was nice. I had not eaten since 1 p.m. at this point, it was late evening, and we were both hungry. Almost everything lacked flavor and seasoning except for the fries. They were pretty decent. This was our first and last visit as I did not feel good about what I ate versus what I paid. Parking: There are 2 areas to park. One small area on the side facing Bay Area Blvd and another in the front diagonal of the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: There was wheelchair access at the front of the restaurant.

The worst food ever. The ribs were so dry I thought I would choke on them. They gave me the wrong chicken tenders and they were so greasy I spit it out. Other thing is that you don t tip at the register because you don t know if the food is good and service.

Stopped by for lunch with the fam for our first time experience, Isaac the cashier was great! He went above and beyond to explain the menu and the fan favorites! Ordered shack sauce on my Uber order and when I called the restaurant they didnt seem to care very much and claimed that they put it in the bag. When I said they didnt they wanted to argue. I would recommend making sure you do not eat at this location.

A coworker suggested this place, and I would go every day if I could. The chicken is nice and juicy, with a perfect flavor. We have ordered a 4 piece with a side of mac and cheese and we share it. Its plenty of food. I am glad I found out about this place. I have never had a bad experience. I ordered through Uber eats once, and the food arrived early, steaming hot. (Im about 2 miles away). I have gone inside to eat once and picked up a few times...the workers are super friendly...always.

The Cookshack is my new favorite place for chicken. It is a great spot to watch the Astros. We ordered the Ribs and Chicken Combo (1/2 rack of ribs 2 Tenders) Texas Hot. The ribs were good but a little dry on the small end. However, the chicken was amazing! We also ordered the Shack Salad (grilled chicken, avocado, dates, almonds, goat cheese, cherry tomatoes, corn with champagne vinaigrette). We look forward to going back.

I used to love this place and would come a few times a month. But the last three times that Ive gone the food has just been obscenely greasy like they didnt take the time to let it dry after taking it out of the fryer. And the spice level has just not been regulated, I get the medium every time and sometimes it tastes like Im getting a mild and sometimes it tastes like Im getting a Texas hot. If it happened once or twice I would think that it was just a busy day or something but its happened three times in a row now so I dont really know whats happening but I dont want to come back.

The Cookshack is mainly chicken but you can get other things there. I had the combo plate of ribs and chicken fingers with fries. The only complaint I had was too much salt on the fries. The ribs were tender and delicious and the chicken fingers huge. I couldn t eat both of them. I ate all the ribs but had room for one finger. The other I shared. Our food came out hot. We ordered at a counter when we came in and were given a number to hang on the table. Our order was brought to us. The place was clean and very plainly decorated. You could order your food mild to very hot (spicy). Great for families. They overcooked the sweet potato fries. Parking: In a strip mall at corner of Hwy 3 and Bay Area Blvd Kid-friendliness: Kids love chicken fingers and fries and they would love these.

This is a nice place for people who love both bland and spicy. The ribs are good and prepared how you want it. The dragon fries live up to their name as your mouth will be burning. The atmosphere pendulum swings far in a few specific directions <assumedly due to the of the neighborhood feel of this area>. Lots of families at dinner on a Saturday night. Very casual attire. The crowd here is too inconsistent for my preference but the staff is always great and the food quality consistent. If you re wanting a great pickup food spot or a spot to have a beer and watch a game, this is a solid choice. Alyssa (if my memory serves me) is usually working bar and she s great. Sprinkle: Don t come if you re single looking to meet other singles unless you re under 22 Parking: It s in a shopping center and never very busy. DRY & OVERCOOKED!! Very disappointed with my meal 2 days ago. The chicken was overcooked and very dry and stringy:-( I hope this is not indicative of how it will be from now on because it is always been excellent in the past. Went in with my family around 1 pm on a Friday. We really didnt know what to do with the bar being right up front. Sit down or order first.?. We had to ask the bar what to do. We were not welcomed or directed what to do . The place was not busy. It still took a while to get the food. We had the chicken and waffles. Chicken batter was super greasy. My best friend told me about this, and lord bless this place. The food is absolutely amazing and hits different when its night! What you see here is the chicken and waffles, and the chicken I got is medium spice which is only two steps below the hottest spice and MAN OH MAN was it good!!! If you love spicy food, I recommend the medium because its not too hot and not too mild. The Mac and cheese??? Oh let me tell you about that. Its thick, cheesy, and so dang good!!! It has hints of bacon too. The waffles???? Not overly sweet, and the butter has hints of cinnamon. The syrup also is delicious though its more liquid-y than thick. My friend also ordered the dragon fries for the table and those are sooooo good too! Also all the drink you can drink! (Soda and tea) though there is a bar also.

Love the food, I get the chicken and waffles every time I go, my boyfriend gets the chicken sandwich which he loves. He normally loves spicy food, the Texas hot was enjoyable but he went back to medium due to how spicy it was and he can take some heat. Mild is perfect for someone who wants a bit of spice. The dragon fries though, man, those will get ya! Theyre soooo good, but look deceiving. We were confused because the regular fries look spicy with all the seasoning and the dragon fries look plain with nothing on it - but oh man they sneak up on you. So good! My husband got the Texas Heat tenders and loved them but was dying by the end lol. And I had the mild sandwich, not spicy at all but so delicious. The macaroni was very very good! Good food, but a little misleading on the spice level. I was told that Texas Heat would make me cry, so I let the cashier talk me down to medium, which was barely approaching Chick Fil A spicy chicken spiciness, if you know what I mean. Ive been to Thailand and eaten a handful of bird peppers in my Pad Thai and normally eat El Diablo up the road at Hopdoddy without batting an eye. Next time, Ill go harder!

Staff was Very Nice, that being stated, the food was mediocre at best. Ribs were nicely sauced but even for fall-off-the-bone they were still dry (I got the end of the rib rack, so pieces were like Jerky). We got Chicken Tacos / Tenders / Snack bits. MEDIUM HEAT was Mild and No Heat was bland. All pieces of chicken were chewy and dry as well. If you love Raising Canes, then this maybe good enough for you. Mac N Cheese was good, the kids at least ate that, and I thought the Sweet Potato Waffle fries was the best thing there.

The food was good but the service was the worse ever. We waited 25 mins for our two meals, three strips plus a side for each of us (my husband and I). Not sure why it took forever for the meals to come out. The cooks in the back instead of working they were checking out female guests. The three girls at the front counter seem distracted and not attentive either. We did not see management team. Jonathan, the young lead shift or manager must have been off at the time. We are regular guests at this location and surprised to see the service deteriorated. To top it off, we understand if the restaurant was busy and theyre running behind but there were only a few guests (these guests were there eating already upon our arrival). Everyone loves this place. They rave that the food is fresh. I cant eat the chicken bc theres so much batter but thats ok, I order the salad. Twice now the $12+ salad is always over dressed and just looks forgotten. For 12 it should be a mass8ve garden of amazingness. Hi Cookshack, I tried a lot of hot chicken and this doesn t really impress me as much. This kind of tastes similar to what I currently make at home from a recipe I found on Google except Cookshack adds more spice to it. The Texas Hot isn t all too hot as I thought it would be. Dragons fries are decent.. wish it has more flavor. I had amazing customer service and everything came out quickly! Overall, I would likely give it another try.

We came in on a Saturday and the line was almost out the door- but even so, it moved quickly. Mckenna was at the register and she was so sweet and helpful. I asked questions and she had no problems answering and providing extra information. Justin was sure to check up on us at our table and that really made the experience top notch! The young woman at the counter taking our order was wonderful! The staff who went around asking if we needed anything and who brought out the food were also great. Service was 5 stars. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is where it fell short. The food itself was all cooked perfectly. The quality of the chicken was not good at all. I expected much better coming from a place that has a chicken as its logo. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The quality of the meat is where it totally fell short. It was stringy and chewy. Nobody likes stringy chewy chicken. Especially when you re paying a lot for it. The ribs although tasted great, the meat itself was chewy as well. I really wanted to like the food and leave a good review, but after spending close to $100 and leaving not very satisfied with what I just spent my money on I hate to say it, but Raising Canes chicken tenders (although have experienced serious shrinkflation over the last year) are WAY better in quality. It s obvious the ribs are not cooked in a smoker, but I would ve been ok with that if they weren t so darn chewy. The fries were cooked perfectly and the waffles were good too, but please for the love of God use REAL quality maple syrup if you re going to sell chicken and waffles. Even my kids remarked at the weird fake taste of the syrup. Disappointed in the quality of the food. The staff, presentation and portions deserve 5 stars. Just not the food itself.

If you like chicken, especially chicken fingers, this is the place for you. The food is a little pricey, but worth it. We got the family meal for four which easily fed us and was VERY reasonably priced. Lots of good sauces to go with the chicken and friendly staff. The fries are good, but be forewarned, the sweet potato fries have added sugar, so theyre almost a dessert.

Friendly service, great food I had the Texas hot strips and a AMF the Texas hot was already burning hell in my mouth the AMF was one hundred times hotter but I loved every piece of if. Not only was the food good (I had ribs and tenders), but the atmosphere and service was great! Employees greeted me at the door, was patient while I placed my order, caned and checked to make sure my food was ok, and even took my plate when I was done. Some would say this is what they are supposed to do, and you may be right, but they had an awesome attitude that have surpassed many high-end restaurants I ve been to in the past. I do a lot of five-star reviews, but I wish I could do more! The second we walked in, we were greeted, and, looking a little lost, the cashier guided us to the register where we ordered our food. Then she took the initiative and asked to explain the menu! Small thing but made a huge difference! After suggestions and explaining the heat levels, we ordered and sat down outside. The food was out in less than 5 minutes. Piping hot and delicious! As you can see in the photo, the ribs fell out of the meat. They were so tender. My wife says the chicken and waffles were amazing as well, and the seasoning was incredi le! Great service as they came out and checked on us and great atmosphere! Will definitely recommend!!

I had the 2 tenders combo texas hot with french fries and ranch. It had the perfect amount of spice for me. Hot but not too hot. The tenders and fries both had nice crispness to them. I enjoy this more than Daves chicken. I plan on being back in the future to try the chicken and waffles as well as the Mac and cheese.

This place is awesome. I love my hot sauces and peppers. I can eat ghost peppers at the dozen, ate the one chip challenge and the world s hottest gummy bear. Their amf sauce is no joke. It may not be as hot as the one chip but man it is hot! The chicken is cooked perfectly and couldn t have had better chicken. Thank you for having paper towels to wipe the sweat off. First time going to The Cookshack, and we will definitely be coming back! We were greeted with a warm welcome, and when I said it was my first time eating there, I was given several recommendations and was told about all their different sauces. We got the chicken sandwich, which comes with cole slaw and their shack sauce on it. I ordered mine without cole slaw and the sauce on the side, and it comes with one side so I got fries. And we got the kids meal shack bites with fries and a drink. I only paid about $20 for everything, and it was all cooked perfectly!

We had chicken strips and ribs with sweet potato fries. The ribs were perfectly seasoned and tender -some of the best Ive had in the area. The strips were big and spicy and cooked perfectly. All the sauces we tried were good. The sweet potato fries were seasoned with cinnamon, nice touch. The only negative was that the chairs were uncomfortable. I had the Chicken and Waffles. They were amazing. They have 5 different levels of heat for the chicken. I chose Medium and Texas Hot. The Texas Hot had me crying! Ill stick with Medium in the future.
