If I could put no stars I would. Terrible service. Terrible people. The male bartender followed my boyfriend to the bathroom and creeped us out. The drinks suck. The environment sucks. The entire place is a terrible mess and should be condemned. There were roaches everywhere and the floors were filthy. Dont let the five star reviews fool you, its the owners friends, the service was horrible, the beer tap was absolutely disgusting, and the smell of sewage is overwhelming when I asked for service the bartender with bright hair rolled her eyes and gave us the worst attitude possible, Ive had maybe 2 bad experiences going out but this tops the rest, cant wait for McIntyres to open

First time being there and bar staff is very attentive and friendly, as soon as I sat down I was asked what I wanted, I got a beer and their burger. The beer tasted very clean from draft, I can tell they clean their taps on a regular basis. Their burger while greasy tasted very good, allowed me to enjoy the rest of my night, 10/10 would recommend Parking: It seemed a bit packed when I showed, but all the parking was free and I had a spot to easily park

The daytime male bartender Shawn, is borderline rude & cocky. I guess thats the way he deals w female who are alone only. The female daytime bartender is really awesome. She made me feel welcomed at my first visit. She showed me the food menu & gave recommendations. She rocks. Wings were less par. Over cooked hard & dry. Burbon sauce was barely covered & could have been coated better. The grilled cheese was off the chain tho.

Kanakas is a place to get a nice meal, drink and relax. Thursdays if you play an instrument or like live music come to Kanakas Tiki Bar. They have an open mic that is inside and the host Kevin Fenton has nice equipment to make everyone sound as good as they can. So if you want a snack or meal stop by and check it out. Dont forget Thursday live music. Oh, I almost forgot they also have karaoke on Sunday nights. Hope to see yall soon!!

It is a nice place to hang out, music sélection was great and the bartender was so nice and knows how to make his customers have a good time. The only reason I gave a 3 stars, because they need to improve on their cocktails list. They only 3 cocktails to choose from. Besides that it is really a cool place!

Great times. Very interesting place. Gives you that feel your in the Bahamas. Very great staff. Stephanie was a wonderful bartender. Kept me laughing the whole night. Crayfish on Tuesday nights. Live music with a small stage. Great out door area for smoking over looking the water. Very close to Kemah. Very cool place. Highly recommended!

What a joke. There are several good tiki bars in the Houston area, but this is not one of then. We popped in to their location that replaced the Cockeyed Seagull because we were in the area and were immediately disappointed. We sat down and asked for a drink menu and the bartender was completely perplexed. He finally gives us this tiny little card with 3-4 drinks on it and walks away. If you want a canned frozen daiquiri with bacardi in it like they make in the trailer park, maybe this place is your jam. If you want actual tiki drinks, look elsewhere.

We wandered into this spot to get out of the heat. It was unusually slow in there but I was happy to see that. The most awesome thing about the laid back atmosphere was the rockstar bartender CHRIS SMITH. Basic name but above and beyond personality, intuition and hospitality! If youre into music thats a major plus because hes a great conversationalist on the matter plus a pretty talented guy. He makes great drinks too! He made our day even though he looks like machine gun tommy lee Kelly haha! Thanks again!!

I came to this town during the off season and honestly thought it would be a ghost town with the bars all boarded up. Found this gem and ended up having an AMAZING weekend!! From the moment i walked in the door i was greeted and treated just like a regular and just like family. My bartender anita , on top of serving fast cold drinks,introduced me to the locals and recommended local places to eat and see. The group i was with on Friday had such a great time we came back on Saturday. I saw a dumb review on here from Karen ( why is it always a Karen?!) but she leaves alot of dumb reviews... try this place out. You wont regret it. Im going to make a road trip in may or june down there, if i see you i will buy you a shot!!

We stopped in Friday night to have a few drinks. When we sat down the bartender kind of aggressively snatch the beer ,we walked in with, out of my husbands hand and poured it out outside. We were unaware we could not bring it in and would have gladly handed it over to him had he simply asked. He was very rude and Im not gonna lie I probably said some rude stuff back to him. So we left on our own. Then I guess he radioed his buddies at the other bars on that strip. They told us it was thier policy to not let us in their bar if there was a problem at another bar by. Oh well we went elsewhere. He did not have to be so rude!

If you like proper tiki bars with original cocktails utilizing high quality ingredients, get ready for disappointment. Its just a regular no frills bar that make daquris with cruzan. You want that really nice tiki drink you saw on YouTube? Dont bother. They wont have that navy strength rum that makes it great. If you are more than okay with a pina colada with captain Morgan, Malibu, and canned pineapple juice, here you go.
