This place is 5-star if you are interested in the classic all-American diner. Four of us made the long drive from Arlington, seeking such a place. We were greeted by the lovely Kay. The decor is tasteful Texan as well as neat an clean throughout. Many happy customers were enjoying good food. From the extensive menu, our wives ordered the cat fish an the men went for the Texas standard chicken fried steak. We were all delighted with the food prepared in their open and spotless kitchen. My wife left her jacket on our departure. I called an the nice people promptly mailed the item. Thank you Kay, Tony, and the CampFire owner. I highly recommend experiencing this place. I know we well be back.

Just like grandma made it! The nostalgia of a home cooked country meal from scratch, service with a smile and flavor that ll make your tongue wanna slap the back of your head, Good! We could cut our chicken fried steak breakfast with a fork (chicken fried chicken too) and the most beautiful over medium eggs I ve ever seen! Y all deserve 5 stars and then some. I ve been a customer for many years since the good ol days down the road. I absolutely love the Chicken Fried Steak! Owners have been serving up all my favorites to perfection I am only grateful. Do try the blackened chicken, dirty rice, sides plate, catfish and shrimp plate. Really any of them! Support your local business! It is nice for home cooked traditional Texas meals and they have sandwiches and a burger choice. The star of the show is the warm salsa and chips. My only complaint is they dont give you enough chips. I thought they used to be bottomless. I was advised it would be about $3 for extra chips. The cup of salsa is really big and it is so delicious. Everyone brags about the best chicken fried steak in town. Perfect place to bring your family or out of town guests that want to experience serious Texas what is not barbecue

Let me start off by saying this place as far as food could use improvements. So the okra and hashbrown casserole are both amazing! The casserole was super cheesy. Okra batter was crispy. The chicken fried steak needs seasoning. The gravy was a weird creamy mush. Def get it on the side or use a more traditional white gravy. The grilled bone in chop was a great piece of meat but needed more seasoning. I also suggest letting it rest off the plate to have less juice on the plate. My son loved the corn dog bites. They were really good! The spicy beans are a ranch style with heat. Salad with the avacado lime dressing was decent. The texas twisters were good, but the bbq sauce with it is weird. I recommend just a ranch with it. My absolute favorite thing was the grape koolade on tap! It was super sweet. Overall, this place is a mediocre standard small town southern food, but needs more seasoning with everything. Also, fix the weird gravy.

This place is fantastic. I have been here twice once for lunch and once for breakfast both times the food was great. I got the catfish the first time and the chicken fried chicken the second visit and both were some of the best Ive ever had. The people who own it seem very kind and the service was great both times. The first time I went to this place, I wanted a burger I havent eaten beef in about a year and for some reason I was craving a burger so I went here to this place thinking I would get that, but the owner manager, Im not sure talked me into the smoked chicken wings with the greens and a mac and cheese so I wouldnt feel guilty and I was very pleased Ive gotten it again probably twice since that day! Ive also tried the fried fish and it was really good and of course I got the mac and cheese and the greens! Interested in trying the breakfast next... Although Ill be BK to try other menu items... I had the catfish basket and it was good. The fries were perfect, the coleslaw was delicious too (I seldom like the coleslaw, but this was perfect for my taste) and the catfish too was exactly how I like it (crispy with just the right amount of cornmeal). The atmosphere was nice except it was so hot inside, which is the ONLY reason it didn t get 5 stars. But that s a building owner issue and not the eateries fault. However the heat was a factor for enjoying the meal. They did their best to cool the place down with several fans. We grabbed a banana pudding on the way out and it too was delicious. We had contact with four people and all four were extremely pleasant. I definitely look forward to going back-when it s cooler of course!

I ate breakfast a little late so I was the only one there. There was only dregs in the coffee pot. The biscuits are not good but better than the white gravy, which wasnt white. The bacon seemed cheap. Everything seemed made with cheap ingredients. They did make me a fresh pot of coffee that tasted burnt. I wanted to like it. It kind of felt like showing up at a family members house when they werent expecting you but they threw together a meal...and theyre on a paupers budget.

We had a wonderful breakfast for our first visit here. The menu is clear and checkout is easy. Did not have to wait long for our food. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the hashbrowns had the perfect ratio of crispy and tenderness. My husband had the chicken fried steak and it had the perfect amount of seasoning. I did this place for a catered work lunch and the way they served us was unbeatably great. As for the food, the blackened catfish and Mac&cheese were so very good but the pork chops were heavenly! I purchased the shrimp and catfish combo extra crispy with mashed potatoes and fries everything LOOKED great. The fish was extra crispy but had no taste so when i opened a peice of it to look at it, it was white like catfish it was like a greyish color and looked artificial . Came back again and it was just as good as the first time we checked the place out which prior to the pandemic. The food still had great flavor. I had a kids meal with Mac & cheese and mash potatoes with cream gravy. The Mac & cheese had really good flavor and was creamy. The potatos had some skin left on and the gravy had real bacon in it. The kids meal comes with a drink. My fiancé got the daily special which is $3 cheaper than regular price. He got the chicken fried chicken with mash potatoes and gravy and corn. The chicken was cooked just right not dry at all the breading was crispy and had a good flavor. We split the banana pudding and it had chucks of banana in it and was so yummy! I hope we make it back sooner and not wait so long.

Just a little hole in the wall at Rufe Snow and Mid Cities Blvd (Watauga rd). But the food is awesome. Loved their fried pickles. Also enjoyed the chicken fried steak. My husband said the hamburger and fries were great too. Try it out.

The people who cook here and the people giving great reviews are crazy and have no taste buds. This was the absolute worst comfort food I ve ever had! I got the chicken fried steak plate and I m appalled how tasteless and the huge lack of love put into this food! The toasted bread was the best part of the meal!! Tried this place once before and was less than impressed with the patty melt but decided to give it another shot because they were the closest place to us that offered the chicken fried steak my husband was craving. He said it was tasty, and he got full but it was a little on the small side. I tried the BLT on this visit. The bacon was plentiful but a little flavorless and somewhat difficult to bite all the way thru. Overall this was a much better visit than our previous one but its not a place I would seek out or crave... Ill try something other than a sandwich next time to see if my opinion changes.

Ive hesitated writing a review, but today I had to. My husband and I frequent this restaurant. One thing I can say is, they are very consistent. The food always tastes amazing, but I get sad when I raise the lid to my Mac n cheese and it isnt full (every single time). I want to be able to see the macs hitting that to go lid. I just paid about $6.22 for a large Mac n Cheese and felt like one more spoonful could have been added to feel as though I got my moneys worth. The large, already doesnt give off large vibes, so when I get home to only a good few bites, I tell myself never again...BUT, I always go back because they are good people and the food tastes great. That Mac n cheese is on point, and I only eat my own Mac n cheese. My other go to is the blackened chicken dinner with greens and dirty rice....and of course, I always add a side of MACS!!!

Hate giving negative reviews but I want to aid others to improve their dining experience. We ordered the smothered pork chop diners and the gravy was VERY nauseating and chops were fatty and terrible breading. We threw everything out after about 4 bites. Collards weren t too bad but the potatoes were definitely instant potatoes!!! We ve had the pecan salads here before and they were great. Don t think we ll return.

They have the best stand alone, onion rings I ve ever eaten I ve joyfully eaten an entire order hot, more than once, and taken home my chicken tenders or chicken fried chicken in a togo box Their version of brown and cream gravies miss the mark imo. While Grilled Texas Toast using Mrs Baird s bread has been a go for, for numerous decades, the amount and type of fat they use on theirs is awful, again, ime. I d love to try their BLT or breakfast menu, but that singular offering of bread has been a deal killer, pity.

Campfire Grill offers real sugar soda and ice tea. The inside features several booths and small tables. A few 6-8 people tables are available. Lunch starts at 11am. Staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. I recommend the BBQ Meatloaf. Apple Pay is accepted.
