Was gonna get chicken next door. Saw Chicken Fried Steak on STAR GRILL sign. Pulled. Got the dinner. $17.00. Steak. Nice size. With white gravy on top. Big buttered Texas toast. French fries. Good size separate container fresh salad. Fresh sweet Tea. Real Sliced lemons. Atmosphere- old Texas Weatern memorabilia all over. Cool. Antique shotgun on the wall above. We dont have to call the law here. Booths with cushioned seats!!

I absolutely LOVE Tex s Star Grill. Their food is made with a ton of love and care. I usually get a Gyro. (highly recommend) The way they make their house-made tzatziki sauce that goes with the gyros is perfect. Today I decided to get something different and Tex s Star Grill never fails to amaze me. I had a golden burger with French fries and it was one of the best burgers I ve ever had. Thank you for the amazing food and service!!!

I drive past this place all the time and decided to give it a try last night. Burger was delicious with the bacon perfectly crisp. The fries were hot and fresh, and also nice and crisp on the outside. Mozzarella sticks were excellent. No complaints.

I love coming here! This is one of my main places for delicious burgers! I love that I dont have to get fries and can choose mashed potatoes. The sweet tea is so good! The owner is always present and the staff is always so nice and the atmosphere is always enjoyable!

This was a recommendation to me for a couple of Chicago dishes. Missing home, I tried the Italian beef, and it definitely fell short on flavor. The cheese did not even completely melt. My friend had the Ruben, she said the same. She tried to return to the counter to bet a to go box, but after yelling Hello several times, she gave up. We wont be back.

Texs Star Grill is absolutely amazing! I only found out about this restaurant a few months ago but have been going back and bringing others with me ever since. They have amazing burgers, and their other food Ive tried has been great as well. Everyone that I bring has been in love. This is my moms favorite burger spot, and it doesnt disappoint. I came here two times in a row, day after day, because the burgers were just great. The employees in the kitchen really make them with love. They are consistent, never overcooked, and just delicious. The spicy home sauce is great with the fries. The fries are well seasoned and crispy too. The burgers are definitely a 9/10, my only critique is a tiny bit more flavor, more seasoning, but honestly theyre delicious as they are. and the fries are 10/10. Customer service is average, but there is always a man going around asking everyone how their meal is. I think its the owner or general manager. My mom also really loves the baklava. She gets it every time. I live close to this place now, thats dangerous I fear

I am not really sure why this has the high rating that it does. We had four in our party, and everything but the hamburger was thrown away. I had the chicken fried steak, and it was tough without any flavor in the breading. It was probably frozen and wasnt worth the over $13 that was charged. The mashed potatoes were instant. The chicken sandwich was gross. The chicken fingers were made from frozen, as well and werent edible. The only bright spot was the hamburger was edible and the fries (probably frozen as well) were good. We will not be going back, especially when we can go to many other places you can get it for less. Or, you can go to Sweetie Pies and get chicken fried ribeye for only $5 more!

Going to be honest. Been going here since I was a small child. George the owner watched me grow up. In all of that time though the food has never changed. Super consistent and even though I m not close by anymore I stop by anytime I m within a 20 minute drive. Never had anything I didn t like but I recommend the Gyro or a burger. Ive eaten here for years. Good food, however there is a certain 20 something year old male behind the drive-thru who needs to quit if hes as miserable as he seems. Ive never had an issue with drive-thru attendant in my life, cant say thats something I aspire to have, but this guy is a combination of passive aggressive and yet arrogant when trying to order. He will cut you off midsentence. He will ask questions rudely. He is genuinely unpleasant. Months ago I pulled up after ordering and asked if he was alright/was having a bad day by the attitude he was talking to me with and he quickly deflected. He knows how he comes across. Today was final straw when mid-order I just pulled away and decided to eat in. I will not order drive-thru here aagain if I hear this persons voice over the intercom. Management, please go over customer service 101 with him as he is turning customers away.

This is my go-to if I actually want to get out of the house! Last time I was here I got the Gyro Dinner. That with fries was the perfect lunch! My sister got the chicken tenders, and they were HUGE! So you get your moneys worth for sure. Dont know why they arent available on Door Dash, but its worth the drive. Ive had the cheeseburger here, and that is better than the fast food places. Customer service was excellent until an older woman came to the window. Maybe it was just one of those days, but she came off as unfriendly. Ive never had a bad experience here and use to bake bread for the company. However, this does affect my overall review. The spicy fried pickles were horrible! The burger was decent. The onion rings were the best part of my meal. The establishment is still clean and looks the same from yrs ago. You can tell the owner takes pride in his business. Weve been dining here at Texs Star Grill for several years. My folks found this diner and its one of our must haves places to eat whenever were in town for a visit. The food is always delicious, and freshly made to order. The steak kabobs and onion rings are scrumptious! Ive had nearly everything on their menu and havent ever been disappointed. The staff are courteous and friendly. The dining room is clean and the selfservice drink station and condiments bar are well stocked and organized. Theres usually someone working the dining room cleaning tables and stocking the selfservice counters. The owner is visible, talking to customers and checking on the accuracy of meals ordered. Hes a friendly gentleman. Definitely a place to choose to eat a delicious meal. Plenty of seating in the dining room.

Also got some Baklava- very good flavor but getting a bit stale/dried out. All in all, we liked it a lot - staff was very friendly. A LOT of choices - burgers, hot dogs, fried foods, sandwiches - the list goes on. Pretty busy too for dinner for a place that seems like lunch would be their busy time.

George is a Greek man from Chicago that has lived in Texas a couple decades and the food reflects it all. The Gyro is some of the best meat we have had. That s right, great gyros from a place with Tex in the name. We took the owners suggestion and got the Golden Burger that is piled with fresh pastrami. Amazing blend of flavors. My mouth wanted more. I wish I could give this place a few dozen stars. Me and my wife come to Watauga once or twice a month and when we do we make sure to eat somewhere well before getting here since there arent many adequate restaurants. On this particular day we wanted to go to a big chain pizza restaurant but when we arrived, the place wasnt very appealing. So we left and drove towards 820 and saw Texs Star Grill. It should be noted we passed TSG on the way to the pizza joint but were dead set on Hizza Put. Well we were so glad to make it to TSG. We noticed upon entering, the dining room was pretty busy and people seemed to be enjoying themselves which was a great sign. We quickly found out why this place was busier than most restaurants on the road. Got greeted by the most welcoming individual ever in the history of dining out. Who comes out to greet patrons as they enter?!? He did and he was so kind, I thought I was at my favorite Uncles house. The food was superb. Got the pastrami burger and that was so juicy and hit the spot. My wife got the gyro and that was the most authentic Midwest Gyro Ive known and grown to love. There are quite a few Gyro places in DFW but this place gets it right! The tzaziki was delicious and thick, tasted like all the ingredients used were pulled right out of the garden as we arrived... Im sorry for the long review. But these words arent even enough to describe the heartfelt actions by the owner. Definitely will be coming back many times to try everything on that menu. This is why I rock the mom and pop joints! A1 service and rockin food! Absolutely worth the drive from Midlothian to come here and dine in the future!

This place is just fantastic! Ive been missing a good Italian beef sandwich since I left Chicago. The one here is top notch. The Chicago style hot dog is perfect as well as they use Vienna Beef dogs. Try the fringe, you wont be disappointed.

Really nice down home restaurant the owner was extremely nice and warm. He greeted our table and the other patrons. This was my first time but certainly not my last. Food was homemade, very tasty, huge portions I needed a doggy bag. I felt better to feed my kids chicken tenders from here at least I know its real chicken and made properly. The pricing was fair. I tipped the cashier because she was so warm and welcoming as well. Menu has a wide variety. Give them a try you wont be disappointed. Good food and spectacular customer service!

Great, diverse menu, friendly staff. Outdoor seating is comparably comfy because the stone benches have cushions. I usually get mushroom swiss burger, wife gets a gyro. I also like their Greek salad, fried chicken topped salad, lamb topped salad, patty melt, and sausages. The fries are fantastic but I wish they were consistently spiced. Fox News on all the time though. Exhausting politics at meals: I sit with my back to the TV. They have a nice new tV menu that shows them prepping the popular items: would love more of those.

I don t understand the hype. Food was bland. Chicken nuggets were so flat and dry- the rice pilaf was bland and mushy. Tea was terrible. Gyro meat was good , tstazki sauce was lacking. Bad to Mediocre food nothing to write home about.

Price was waaay high for the mediocre quality food they served. Stick to a sit down restaurant, I wouldnt go back here. We had chicken fried steak with really thin gravy, watery and thin mashed potatoes, a salad with brown edges. Over $30 for 2 , not at all good enough for the price.

Solid 4. Onion rings were so-so. Large but no flavor. Needs a dipping sauce. Fries were decent but needed ketchup. Greek salad was great with large strips of gyro meat. Golden burger with pastrami was spot on as was the chili burger. Have yet to try the rest. But will return when in the area.

If youre ever in North Richland Hills this is a little diamond on Rufe Snow Dr. The burgers are cooked on a flame and onion rings are so crispy delish. Its a walk-up order system like fast food but your order does not begin cooking until youre ready to find your own seating. You wait until your number is called and you run to pick up your awesome order! And dont forget your dessert! A bakery case full of pie, cakes or whatever is prepared for the day. They also have a drive thru. Dont get hangry if you have to wait a little longer than fast food but youll know the food is freshly prepared for you. Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking in front of entrance. Limited spaces but even if you dont get a handicap space, there are plenty to choose from that are still close enough to the door.

If I could give a higher score, I would. I went and placed a very large to-go order. The owner greeted me upon entry. Although I fumbled through ordering making multiple changes to every combo ordered. The cashier easily and patiently managed entering the order. Explained any extra charges for upgrade and was very gracious in her demeanor. She was very knowledgeable of the menu items and made great suggestion along the way. I was getting the drinks when the owner offered to get a box for the drinks and food so it was easier to transport home. As I then waited for my food, watching the grill team hammer through multiple orders. It was really quite impressive to watch. Great teamwork! Before I knew it my large to-go order was done quickly. Surely they missed something? Everything (even though complex) was as ordered, cooked perfectly and amazingly packaged separately by entree/sides/condiments and desserts.
