I placed a pick-up order this evening and when I arrived at the restaurant there were a couple of tables with patrons eating and a young man was waiting at the counter to be helped. One of the staff employees was sweeping the floor in the small area to the left of the ordering bar. She saw me come in, there was no one else at the ordering bar. I asked the young man if he was waiting and he nodded yes. We both stood there for about 5 minutes until the girl sweeping the floor came to help us. He was also waiting to pick up his order as I was. First, there was no greeting from the employee whom we had to wait for until she felt like coming over to help. Second, as soon as your customer walks through the door, they should be greeted and asked how can I help you or what can I get for you? Third, patrons are eating, wait and do your sweeping after your patrons are gone or when you have no one in the restaurant. That causes dirt and dust to fly through the air and can be uncomfortable to those who have issues breathing. If you want people to come continue to come back and eat or order out, put the broom down and tend to your customers.

Ive been dining at McAllisters for the past four years since residing in San Marcos. Anytime I have a salad and sandwich craving I make a beeline to McAllisters. No complaints with the quality of food although Ive only had just a few items. Yesterday, I decided to switch things up from my usual -- Savannah Salad and the massive club sandwich always with cucumber tomato salad. Instead, I went with Southwest Chicken salad and Spicy Turkey melt with potato salad. I dont know if there was something in the air that afternoon, but I swear I was in salad and sandwich bliss!!! I could not get over all the wonderful flavours my palate was experiencing. The salad was incredible with the dressing that is recommended. And something about the bread the sandwich was made with had this incredible sweet aftertaste. As a massive potato person, I especially love potato salad. Kartoffelsalat being among my top favourite. I just finished off the McAllister potato salad and felt so inclined to write about it; it is that damn good!!! I am tempted to see if they can prepare a special order for me personally so that I can have it at home for a minute. I can no longer consume HEB potato salad. Anyhow, I am sitting here still happily gnoshing away at the salad and sandwich. How can something so simple make me so happy? I highly recommend these items. I hope there is a McAllisters in Houston as I am moving in a few weeks. That is all.

Got a sandwich the McAlisters Club and I let them know no tomatoes because Im Highly allergic, and they still put the tomatoes on it. When I got home and realized that there was a tomato on it. It was too late. I had to take 4 Benadryl and call my doctor to help. To help the swelling in my mouth and face. Your managers Brandon and Shelbi didnt care and just sent me on my way. I took a picture of the sandwiches and the tickets that showed no tomatoes, and a picture of my face. They still didnt care. I feel you guys need to do something about what just happened to me. So, to add to this I talk the area manager Gilbert about what happened to me, and he said that he would send my info to their legal team. I was never contacted by anyone after talking to him. So, now they are avoiding my phone calls and emails. This is not how you run a company or a business.

Ive been coming to this location since it opened years ago. Within the last year the quality has drastically declined and the prices have increased. They charge you an extra $1.00 for mac and cheese and they put about 8 noodles in the cup for you. I recently went to a different Texas McAlisters location and they didnt charge extra for their side of mac and cheese and their drinks were a lot cheaper. There is always something wrong or missing from my sandwich. They literally forget to put avocados and dressing on my garden fresh turkey, which is like half of the ingredients of the sandwich. Also my spud was not even cooked so had to reheat it at home. I really hope this location goes back to how things were before.

6/2/23 I came into Mcalisters today around 2pm and it was fairly busy, which is totally good and fine. The girl who checked me out (at the short counter) let me know I would most likely be waiting about 20 minutes for my order (again, no issues with this). I wanted to write this review because this employee was INCREDIBLY kind and patient, unfortunately I did not catch their name. They had short brown hair with bangs and round glasses. I really appreciate their friendliness even though the store was quite busy and a lot was going on. They greeted every guest and kept a smile the whole time. I understand how hard that can be sometimes in the food industry (in any capacity) Anyways THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I m going to say what probably most people are thinking. I don t want to be hassled by charities standing at the door. I see it in their faces as they walk out (your customers). I get it, there are good causes and such, but it s just super annoying. For that reason I can t say I ll be back here. As far as the food goes, it s ok. Not phenomenal, but ok. The drink I had tasted like they haven t cleaned the dispensers in a while. Or maybe it s the ice? Also paid $20 for a veggie sandwich, drink and slice of cake but I guess it s due to inflation. Someone needs to be on top of cleaning the tables. Lots of places are like this though. Restroom smelled bad, like it needs a good cleaning. Certainly not the worst.

Great food. Excellent burgers. The Brussels Spouts were remarkable. Way noisy. Deafening music... so not much of a place for chit-chat. My group had a sense we were under surveillance and, probably so, given we look like normal Texas people. We lingered more than a half an hour and could tell we overstayed our welcome. Small businesses are under a lot of pressure these days but thats not an excuse to be less than a gracious host. Attitude is everything.

Unless you go in person, youre guaranteed to have issues with your order. Ive even gone in to order and had issues. Delivery never has drinks even though they charge me for them. In person and delivery Ive never received a pickle even though they are requested. Food is made incorrectly. Mac and cheese was complete mush and had maybe 3 spoonfuls in the cup this past time. Cant seem to add a bread bowl no matter how you order delivery (on their site or door dash) Never had so many issues with a McAllisters before.

We have eaten at this place a few times and have always had a good experience. On this visit, the service has gone way downhill. I had ordered a salad and a kids meal pretzel bites. The pretzel bites was supposed to come with dipping sauce, which they never asked what kind I wanted. I asked for a Diet Lemonade with blackberries. They gave me a Diet Tea. When I inquired if the Lemonade was just mislabeled the girl who was working the register had the gall to tell me yes. It still was wrong. She then asked if I wanted it remade. I ordered a Diet Lemonade. If I wanted a Diet Tea, I would have said Tea. We go sit down. The store had at least 3 other tables already seated. It took over 30 minutes for a salad and a kids meal. I am really not sure what the hold up was. The Pretzel bites were ice cold. I did not dare go back up and let them know for fear it would take another 30 minutes just to correct it and after the Lemonade fiasco, you can tell customer service was not their top priority. We ate our meal and did not see a table being bussed at all. They left dirty dishes on the tables and never made an effort to come around to pick things up. Sorry McAlisters Deli, You used to be really good. I am not sure if the folks you have on staff just do not want to work, or it is just the quality of employees you have on staff.

McAlisters is very good. I love their food however, they used to give pickles with each sandwich you ordered but now you have to request a pickle. Its still free if charge but I often forget to request the pickle. Their chili is delicious. The tea is very good and they have peach and different flavors of tea. I like that they change their menu slightly from time to time. It keeps me interested in what may be available on any given day I feel like eating McAlisters.

I had high hopes for McAlisters. The pictures of their food made my mouth water!! So we ordered at the counter, found a seat and waited. And waited. And waited. They didnt seem busy and certainly didnt exhibit a sense of urgency. After an hour, they brought out our (cold) soup and chili. Half an hour after that, they brought out our sandwiches.... The Food is Amazing as Always! Customer Service is horrible. I was just here getting lunch and there are 2 young girls working. One is at the counter and the other one bringing the food to the table. Both of them seem like they dont want to be there. No emotion or smile. The one at the counter had no Customer service. I walked up and she rolled her eyes and had an attitude the whole time I was placing my order. Most adult meals are are around $10 give or take. Sometimes very busy with wait times at peak hours. But otherwise very nice and quick in thier service. We placed an order for delivery through the McAlister s app. After waiting 45-60 mins, we received a text message saying our order was canceled. We called McAlister s and was told that our food was picked up by the delivery driver and should be on its way. After receiving another text message saying our order was cancelled we called again and were then told that our order was cancelled no reason why. The store blamed the delivery service and took no action to replace our order. Take some ownership of your business don t just cancel the order and disregard your customer!

Absolutely love McAlisters Deli! I have never had a bad experience at any of the McAlisters Ive been to throughout Texas. Favorite premium sandwich shop to go to, with an awesome family oriented environment. The atmosphere and the staff if always top notch as well! Highly recommend!

The last McAlisters Deli I visited was in San Angelo. My friends and I went pretty regularly when we were attending ASU. It was a pleasant experience getting my old favorite meal and it being just as good as I hoped, in addition to the best tea. As a mom now, Im can also add that Im happy with the kids menu. It was a perfect portion and she was happy. Great service, clean location!

Great Healthy Food!! It was my first time actually dining in and two cashier or front counter people kinda ignored us. One was busy with a customer and the two girls, you can tell they tried to keep themselves busy so they didnt have to speak to us. They did help with the drinks and high chair tho which Im thankful for. When they brought the food out I loved their kindness and how they offered if anything else was needed. Overall a great place and great food. If I had a lot of money for this place I would be a regular haha.

We love our McAlisters San Marcos Texas! The pick 2 of Turkey Chipotle Sandwich and the Spud Olê is perfect with the chili con carne on the potato! All was hot and fresh! The Tea is thirst quencher!

Very disappointed, this is the SECOND time I ve tried this McAllisters in San Marcos and I am completely dissatisfied. The first time we ordered favor and they only made a little mistake so I figured I d give it another shot. Only this time I ordered for pickup, 2 different sandwiches which both should ve had avocado and only one had 1 single piece!! That s ridiculous, if I m going to pay for my food I expect it to be made correctly. If I wanted something without avocado I would ve taken my business elsewhere and that s what I m going to do and I also won t be returning. Getting food here was an absolute waste of my time.

Ive ordered very large and complex to-go orders with 5-6 items at this place 100s of times over the past couple years, amazingly theyve never once messed up my order or forget my napkins or forks. I realized this when onetime I thought they messed up my order but double checked and it wasnt actually wrong, thats when it hit me that ive been going to this place for 2 years without them ever getting it wrong. I dont even know how theyve managed this for so long but its true.
