The food was Mockery to Germany! I am from Germany this was just a waste of good ingredients mixed into disappointment! No seasoning and bland and the pudding had chunks. I was absolutely astounded the only thing that was good was the imported beer which thank god they can t make. I definitely would pass on this restaurant I drove 45 minutes for the food to make me sick. I definitely want my money back!

My Wife was born in Germany and she told our neighbor in Round Rock she was looking for authentic German food and she told her about Walburg German Restaurant. We took the 30 min drive today and it was well worth it. The building built in the late 1800s was transformed into a authentic beer hall. When you walk in the aroma of the food cooking lets you know you are in for a treat. Food was fabulous. More surprising was the large beer garden in back with a huge covered tent and band stage. All the Staff were excited to inform us on the history, dishes and events. We met the Owner/Chef/Mgr. in the beer garden and he was more than happy to expand on the food and history. Dont miss out on the Walburg Fest with bands, food & beer 8/30 - 9/1.

I love this place! It looks cool, service is wonderful, and food is delicious!! Warm, fresh bread at the table and a fantastic German beer selection.. the jaegerschnitzel is so yummy and savory! I always get dessert to go incredible Black Forest cake and bee sting pastries.. this place has also finally converted me into being a German chocolate cake fan! Usually it is way too sweet for me, but theirs is perfection.

Our visit was during a slow day when the prime steak was on special. The prime was delicious and tender. However the brown gravy on the schnitzel is quite salty and the veal was overcooked. Apple strudel and black forest cherry cake are nice deserts although Im not sure they were made in-house. The value for money just wasnt up to standard either.

The food was Pretty good. The German Chocolate from three family recipe was perfection. Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere is all about family. Wheelchair accessibility: There is a large ramp to easily access the front door, restaurant and rest rooms. The Biergarten out side is rocky and unlevel for walkers , wheel chairs and canes.

We went there to celebrate a birthday and because we were a large group (7 people), we could not order from the menu, we had to do the buffet, which is fine and is $23/ person. But we didnt know ahead of time. Also didnt know there was a charge for bringing in a birthday cake because that takes away from them making money from their bakery. Ok. So all is fine, but not great, hence the average rating. Even with an unsatisfactory rating on the door, the place was full. The beer garden is a good place to go when you want to eat in peace, listen to music and let the kids run around or play in the arcade. Sorry, no photos.

Met up with my German-born brother in law at one of his favorite restaurants in Central Texas. Its been well over 20 years since Ive been here, and it feels the same as it always did...lots of authentic German fare, genuine old world style furnishings and atmosphere and friendly staff willing to please. Im not typically a buffet kinda guy, but this one allows you to sample all the goodness of authentic German cuisine on one (or 3) plates for one reasonable price. Schnitzel, sausages, schweinbraten, sauerbraten, rouladen, spatzle, red cabbage, Sauer kraft, etc. along with salads and some American dishes are all there. Take your time and try everything. After eating, you can go enjoy the bier garden out back where they have loads of beers on tap and polka music playing most of the time.

I really enjoy this place. It is a bit of a drive but well worth it. 2 areas of concentration: beir garten and actual restaurant with sit down dining. It is easily said that i have encountered stellar, friendly and helpful service at both. Really, you cant go wrong with any of the staff i have encountered. Patrons have, by and large, been pleasant as well. Good mix of families and ages here. During the October fest season, the sitdown restaurant is buffet style. I think the food might be better off a menu, but it is still very enjoyable with a large variety. More limited, but still tasty choices in the beir garten. Music inside is on a small stage fir for more intimate performances. Decore of the large and i mean LARGE insode dining room is rustic with german heritage all over. Place was clean, well tended and filled with the kind of character you would expect. The garten outaide with a large double stage under cover with plenty of picnic table seating. This is in addition to the vast array of other tables spread amongst the trees. I count 3 or 4 beverage bars and place to order limited menu food. Music out here is spectacular and there is a place to dance on concrete. Limited out front parking, we usually park in the smooth grass field in the back. Really like this place.

They were literally all terrible. All of them. The sauerkraut was unedible too and smelled like the mens bathroom. Even the pretzel felt old and as if it was just thawed. Parking is limited and on gravel. I gave one star because there were literally no redeeming factors. Parking: Its on gravel (so beware when it rains) and limited.

There s only one bathroom inside the facility. They ran out of plates and it took awhile to get more cause they only brought out four so they ran out again. Did I mention we had to find the waitress.

The food is amazing, they have a large variety of beers to try, would recommend eating here, but maybe during a weekday, they appeared to be short staffed so even though it wasn t crowded it did take longer then usual to get the food, but definitely worth the wait! Kid-friendliness: They do have good options for the kids menu

Took to long to be seated and also to long to get our food, when people came in behind us and received their food before we did

I was so excited that I was able to introduce more of my friends to the Walburg German Restaurant. The authentic dishes are always fresh and delicious. And the atmosphere is quite charming.

The entertainment really made the experience for Oktoberfest! They knew how to engage the crowd and make it really fun! The buffet was expensive, but I really liked that the food is covered with plastic covers when people arent serving themselves. My favorite German food is schnitzel and red cabbage sauerkraut. Having a buffet was great because I could eat as much red cabbage as I wanted. I wish desserts were included and I wish food besides pretzels were served outside in the biergarten too because the entertainment was more lively outside. The servers of beer outside were very nice! Parking: Gravel parking lot was very full for Oktoberfest.

Wanted to eat here for long time. Food was mediocre at best. The jagersnitzel was not crispy enough and breading fell off, spatzl was very bland and needed salt. Honey cake was dry but loved the Bavarian cream. Strudel was not like any I have seen. And had raisins. My son had weinersnitzel and it was fried crispy. Tasted good. Potato salad was good. Would have been nice to have choice of fried German potatoes. However that said was Octoberfest weekend so maybe why menu was so limited. Not what they showed on line. Very disappointed. Parking: Extra parking

Sodium. LOTS of sodium. The potato salad was excellent! The pork was dry and bland. But, the potato salad had a bit too much salt and my fiances Red Cabbage....holy cow it is drowning.

First, the food was amazing! I had the farmers platter and it was a full plate. I ate every bit of it. Second, the waitress was kind, funny, and and very helpful with the menu. Third, the band was great! It was a unique experience that you dont get often in Texas. I wanna go back again soon!

Went with a large group, 20 people. Food was great except for the prime rib - which was pitiful. I sent it back and then sent it back again - cold, under cooked, unevenly cooked, just bad. Worst prime rib ever. All the German food was outstanding. Thats what I get - should get German food. Bet was really good. We will go back but NEVER prime rib.

I would much rather give good reviews but this place deserves the one star. This place is NOT what it used to be. The food is HORRENDOUS. Absolutely Horrible! Everything was hard. It either tastes bad/spoiled or has no taste at all and if you choose, or in our case, are FORCED to purchase from the buffet its $25 PER person. Ive eaten better food from the dollar tree. I cant stand McDonalds but I would rather have it than the garbage we were subjected to at this place. Everything on the buffet line was room temperature. The fish tasted like fish in a bad way. Everyone started experiencing upset stomachs an hour or less after eating here. Even the bread sucked. The only thing halfway decent was the prepackaged butter squares. After eating here I felt like I had been robbed and then punched in the gut. Cant believe we invited guests to join us. This place did NOT help us make a good first impression. Will NEVER go back.
