Im not a rib person, but something about these ribs and the Jorge Marg is . My go to meal is the marinated chicken fajita! Thank you to EVERYONE involved in Jorges. Its def our fave date spot

Im really just making this review so I can let management or the owners know how terrible our service was. Our server was named Michaela and the entire time she served our table 3 of the dishes came out wrong but told us that s what we asked for. She repeatedly would walk away from our table and would not come back for long periods of time, including after we asked for our checks. There also was a 20% gratuity added to each of our checks even though there was only 9 of us. I gave her extra money from the price of my ticket and wanted change back but never got it so I ended up leaving. She was repeatedly rude to our table, I m sure because she knew she was going to put 20% gratuity on a table of 9. We asked other servers for help twice with our table because our server was nowhere to be found. Overall the food was good and the atmosphere was nice but management definitely needs to have a conversation with this lady.

The Margaritas are awesome! Try the El Jardin you will not be disappointed! The Jorge nachos are a great choice along with the trio dip if you re looking for shareable items! The variety of foods they offer is unmatched! The patio seating is comfortable during time of the day! I suggest making a reservation if you don t want to wait because they are often busy but it s worth the wait!

Service started off slow, but got better. The glasses are very small and required constant refills. We ordered the dip trio with the ranch, corn, and queso. We loved the ranch and corn but the queso was not enjoyable. We ordered the chicken fajitas and carne asada. The fajitas were good, not a fan of the beans. The carne asada was inedible, I think the meat might have been bad it had a very funny taste. They did comp that meal. But I have been sick for hours after. Don t think I ll be returning.

Wife had Agave Mahi Mahi, The Best Mahi Mahi cooked in Waco Tx. With a side of street corn and al pastor brussels(very good!) I had jalapeño rub Carna Asada (medium) it was closer to rare but it was still very delicious.( it made a MAD steak ans egg brunch. We tried a flight of tequila, all written in the picture with our personal ratings. The manager was very nice and noticed our flight and gave us a complimentary drink of His personal favorite. (Its now a favorite of ours, La pugla) Jorges is a great place to enjoy different kinds of tequilas. Highly recommend and have nothing negative to say about it. We will be back.

I told them party of 3 and continued to stare at us and I had to repeat myself. We decided to go in a try this new place. Waiter was great he was in training but the food! Let s just say we will not be returning. We couldn t even finish our food because this is not Mexican at all. The rice was very disappointing. Not sure what that was. The only thing we liked was my son s cheese quesadilla.

She was kind, engaging and really cared about serving me in the best possible way. Beautiful atmosphere and has great service. Was not a fan of the salsa and queso as it was thin texture and almost sweet tasting. I ordered fajitas for my entree and had to send the beef back because it was very under cooked. After they brought it back to me fully cooked, I really didnt enjoy it because it was cut in a way that made the meat strips wide and was difficult to prep and eat. It was also about $40 per person with no alcoholic beverages. This wont be my first choice place to eat but I may return for special occasions.

This was our first visit to Jorge s and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. It s so inviting and I loved the different dining areas. We started our meal off with the Tres Amigo Dip Board and our selections were the guacamole, street corn and queso. All three were very good but our favorite was the street corn. Very yummy! Next we had our entrees. Our friend had the Carnitas Spiced Pork Chop and he said it was delicious, and I must say it did look it. His wife and I both got the Fiesta Taco Salad with Spicy Picadillo beef and it was terrific! Then my husband had the Street Tacos which he said were very tasty. They came with Chimchirri-Roasted Corn Basmati Rice and I must say .WOW! I could have eaten a bowl of it. Very delicious! And finally we ended the meal with the Dulce De Chocolate Bundt Cake and Churros Quattro Leches. Both were delicious but my favorite was the Churros Quattro Leches. I must say we were very pleased with our selections and the portions were a good size. The menu had a variety of choices. Go check it out. You won t be disappointed.

My husband and I went to try it out for our first and maybe last time, still debating. My husband met me up at the restaurant and said they wanted to seat us at the high tops and he told them it was a no go and that we would wait for seating for a booth. (My feet swell, cannot sit up high) They put him down for a booth, so when I arrived I was surprised when they tried to sit us in a high top again. All they had was a table which is fine I guess, but all the booths seemed for big parties which is kind of strange, but ok then moving on. I ordered water with lemon, but they didn t bring me any lemon or straws. Husband ordered sweet tea, but it was lacking. Our server was nice but no real connection, I don t even think I caught her name. She did refill our drinks more than once so kudos to her, But as mentioned before YOUR CUP CHOICE IS TOO TOO SMALL!! The chips were hard and the salsa was OK but all the food was lacking salt, although There was salt on the table. For some odd reason, I feel like the hole in the salt shaker was too small for the salt granules because nothing was coming out. The rice is interesting, but I wouldn t call it anything Spanish or Mexican. I think it s more of middle Eastern or Indian spin on Mexican food. It needed just a couple more minutes to soften up, but the flavors were not bad. I just wouldn t call it anything Mexican or Spanish. My shrimp and elote tacos were good, but if you re going to serve tacos, you should have appropriate condiments, which is definitely onions, cilantro and lime always. I understand that you want to do something different And add a flare and twist, It should be more of an international fusion and not considered Mexican. It s not terrible, but it s not great. It s kind of just meh.

The drinks are very good and the staff is nice. Ive come 2 times so far. I will say if the drinks were not so good, I would not consider coming back. I feel the food fell flat for me. I had the street corn and to me it was very one note and bland it I definitely have made better at my house and when I go somewhere to pay for food I am expecting for the food to be something I can not replicate. I also had the enchiladas the Vegitables kind and I asked for the server to bring something different as it was not very good and opted for the quesidillas which the cheese wasnt very melted in there and just mid. Over all I think that the restaurant is beautiful. For the price I would like for the food to be a little better but would def enjoy a drink there. They were refreshing and unique. I hope the best for Jorges I just think menu or cooks need to revist some of the menu items and tweek them. With a new restaurant I know there are humps in the road as a matter of fact from the first time to the second I will say I had a better tasting experience regardung the drinks. I liked the ice and the water glasses. I feel they really put alot of thought into the aesthetic and I can appreciate that. I may come back after a bit and give it a try again.

This week we ve branched out from Dallas and into Waco, Texas Waco Texas seems to be a quiet college town with large Baylor college presence. A Server from Chuhy s actually told us we should check out Jorges while we were in for lunch a few days ago and we did. It was packed too, and enjoyed some ranch water, beers, chips, and salsa. The restaurant was Humming say the least. Double-sided bar with sports on every television. It must ve been back to school week because it was filled with families and college students. The atmosphere was fun and lively! I had the Carne Asada for 30 bucks and my acquaintance had the street tacos. We also tried the Al pastor brussels sprouts which were amazing and I had the Mexican street corn side dish with my steak, which was also delicious. I thought the experience was really great. The bar was slammed and drinks did take a little bit longer than I had hoped for, but it s probably best that I only had a few drinks vs a ton of drinks We later found out that the restaurant was brand new to the area and has only been open for about two months. I was impressed and I would for sure venture back for the brussels sprouts and the corn. I d probably try the tacos. Next time I come in and maybe one of the frozen margaritas. there s really not a lot of restaurants to choose from and Waco compared to big cities, but there are a lot of Mexican restaurants to choose from and I think this one was outstanding! There was also a lot of parking available around, in front, and behind the restaurant .

Despite making a reservation and specifically asking if they accommodated birthday celebrations (which they confirmed), we were told upon arrival that they don t offer anything special for birthdays. Food was good, but the service was terrible. We waited for a table almost 45 minutes past our reservation time. After we were finally seated it took the server 15 minutes to come greet us at our table and had a bit of a smug attitude as if we were inconviencing him. Also got the run around at the bar trying yo order drinks - we stood in line for 20 minutes when a server told us we could move over to another bar order spot that had no one waiting only to be told by the staff over there that you can t order drinks there thus losing our spot in the other line. Menu was a bit of a mess - seemed just jumbled together and unorganized. You can get just as good of food at Georges on Hewitt Dr. or Speight and have much better service. This place doesn t live up to the hype on social media. Being busy isn t an excuse either - the hostess told us this several times. Management needs to staff accordingly and train their team. Safe to say we won t be back.

I would like to begin this review by saying this is the best Mexican food I ve tasted at a restaurant. The quality of the food was outstanding and the service was amazing although a bit rushed but it s understandable since the place is always full. I am amazed at some of the other reviews that state the food is too fancy or not normal Mexican food. It s crazy that high Mexican cuisine is frowned upon? The best part of our experience is truly the high praise the food received from my grandmother. She is a very skilled cook and she is visiting from Mexico City. She s known for her harsh reviews of Mexican American food and for her to say that she truly enjoyed her mole enchiladas with barbacoa is truly the highest compliment from her. The staff and management are doing an absolute amazing job, the food is authentic and the atmosphere is beautiful.

As far as I am concerned, this is the best Tex-Mex place in town. You don t get your standard enchiladas, refried beans and Spanish rice here. Oh, you can get enchiladas and rice and all that, but I got red snapper, cilantro lemon rice, and verduras Mexicanas, a mixture of colorful vegetables seldom scene here in Waco in a Mexican restaurant. The service was great, we didn t have to wait to be seated, and we all had a great time. This is my new go-to spot. FYI, it also has a great setup to watch sports in the bar.

Exceeded expectations, especially if you have been to the original Georges. Posh, upscale, and affordable. Very surprised and excited for the Waco community. Honestly, this is the most upscale Mexican restaurant in the county. Chichuri shrimp was good, if you like herby, it is your dish. The Brussel sprouts were surprisingly delightful, the added added orange made the perfect blend. They have carajillo on the drink menu - mind blown! If you are feeling adventurous, try the Oaxacan old-fashioned - it leaves a tobacco dominated leather flavor that covers the palate. The best part was the service, which was excellent. Jay was the best. Shout out to Natalie, the bar tender!

I dont quite understand the negatively of some of these reviews. Ive experienced dining from all across the country and EVERY restaurant has some hiccups... especially new ones. We had none on our first visit to Jorges. I especially appreciate the menu that varied their dishes... not the bland normal fare of a lot of other Tex-Mex restaurants. To be sure, it is not your typical Mexican food. I had the Brisket Enchiladas, and was extremely pleased with the fact that not only was Mole on their menu, but was very good. (I have not found any other restaurant in town that offered Mole!) The staff was very attentive, always topping off our drinks and chips. We had reservations and were seated immediately. It might have helped that we didnt go during peak hours. Kudos to George for stepping out of the average, and trying something unique!

Had a reservation for 6, but for some reason, but didnt get seated until after 6:30. When we were sat there werent enough chairs at the table for our group (we had 7 people) and when I told the hostess she acted like that was a ridiculous thing to ask and I had to get my own chair from a nearby table. The location of our table was also not very appealing. The restaurant was incredibly loud (we were directly under the speaker), and a few members of my group had a hard time hearing our waiter. The waiter wasnt very helpful in answering questions we had about the menu or in making sure he heard us right. I was given something I didnt order but chose to just eat it anyway due to the hassle and lost time we had already experienced. Overall, Im not sure this is worth coming back for.

Another Citrano joint that is all hype. I can get the same quality food at On The Border for much less. The staff seem nice but the managers are really full of themselves for no reason, kind of like old man Citrano. This place is the epitome of pretentious and boujee, trying to be something they arent. This is Waco, not Dallas. Stick with the other local spots like El Con, Casa De Castillo, or La Fiesta.

Everything too sweet. Especially fajitas. Too much sauce on everything. They don t let the natural flavors of the food shine. What s the point of having prime meats and seafood and covering it with sweet or sauce? Everything tastes the same! Enchiladas way too much sauce, they were drowning in chili or the sour cream sauce.

I have heard mixed reviews so far, so I went to try it myself. Seating at the bar was lovely, ambiance was upscale but not suffocatingly formal, and the bartender was pleasant + did a good job. The El Tropico margarita was well done and my Brisket Barbacoa enchiladas were also executed well. The rice in particular was quite interesting and flavorful, while the mole sauce was very rich and earthy. I am torn because while the food and service was excellent, the prices feel just a tad lofty. If I could wave a magic wand, Id drop mixed drinks ~$2 and a lot of the entrees say ~$3. Trust me, I get that running a restaurant has a ton of costs the average person doesnt comprehend at first. Im not suggesting anything crazy like half off or that the staff dont deserve to get paid well. But some small price cuts here and there may build a larger base of regulars in the future. Just my gut feeling. Overall a solid 4 stars. No complaints on food quality or service. Pricing is not ridiculous, but high enough that it could be a bit hard to recommend as a once a week trip or anything frequent. Definitely worth a try though!

First off, my son reserved reservations for 8pm for my birthday. We were not seated until 8:30 because the customers won t get up . I don t do reservations where the shorts are so tight n short that it looks like a yeast infection is well on the way. This is a family atmosphere not Hooters. Our waitress looked overworked and under paid. She was sloppy n running around like a chicken with her head cut off. I order chicken flautist .not good, and seafood dip which I don t think it was done .i had a bad stomach attack on Sunday and I m still recovering. We were seated at enclosed patio. They were supposed to sing happy birthday to me but that never happened. The place is beautiful but I would ONLY go to the bar for future reference. It is too big for what they are trying to do. Reservations needs to be canceled. The waitress also wasted my drink on me, didn t apologize, and kept going. My son did speak with management n we received free dessert.

My husband and I went at 145pm on a Sunday. We each ordered a set of tacos. My husband beef fajitas tacos were not even remotely warm. My red fish tacos were fresh and hot. Our waitress was amazing. She was taking care of roughly 45 people all by herself. She did go to a manager asking for help. He told her hey we just sat you another table she kept a smile the whole time. After my husband and I waited over 45 minutes to pay I started to get up to walk over to the 6 shirts I saw just standing at the front where the hostess greets the customers... I guess they saw me hit my breaking point and FINALLY started helping that waitress. All in all, food was alright, staff was good, but they could definitely use better management.

Still asks for reservations, but we were seated early when we got there about 1130 this morning. Attentive staff, but minor scatterbrained (just like the Baylor Georges). Mom loved her chicken fajitas, not the rice or beans. I likes the beans and the green rice was neutral. I got the enchiladas Del Mar and they had no problem deleting the pico de gallo. They were good, shrimp and crab mainly. Well go back, think of the restaurant as a fancy chain mexican restaurant, with prices in that range. Not a suit and tie place though.

They nailed the atmosphere, it looks and feels great inside and out. The service and the food both looked great but completely failed to deliver. Basic serving skills become necessary when youre asking $20-$50 per plate. Place a coaster for that $20 margarita. Serve the great looking but ice cold entrees before they die in the window. Simple stuff. Georges works because its cheap and loud and not trying to be something its not. The same staff may not work down the street at your upscale eatery that is not cheap, not loud, and at this point struggling to be something that it just simply isnt.

Getting right to the point, service was awful. This was my first time at the restaurant, and i was very surprised to walk in and have the two hostesses staring at me like i was suppose to know what to do. No greeting was given from them at all. they looked and acted like they hated being there. no smile, no welcoming hello! . being totally honest, they looked miserable. these hostesses made the place feel unwelcoming. i personally didn t like the food much, but no one should take my word on the food, only the service. i really have never seen such ruckus in a restaurant as i did here. our waitress even walked away from us in the middle of taking our order, not saying a single reason why. we were sitting there so confused. my dad tried to get her attention but she walked straight past us, until a higher up alerted her that he was calling for her. she then said how her system was messing up, and she was trying to get it fixed. there s no issue with that, we understood that things like that can mess up. that was not the problem. the problem was she didn t say a single thing. she walked away, without telling us why, orders unfinished. this place needs some better training or something, cause my experience was not enjoyable.

Also don t ask for anything on the side, because servers input info on tablet in front of you and my particular one did not seem to want to click a button to put a sauce on the side. The cups for drinks are way too small my family of four had 14 EMPTY cups left on the table (they didn t pick them up either). Fajitas were good, but it was only 5 pieces of meat for $35! After reading the reviews, I was suprised to get right in and be seated. Then, I found out real quick, this is not traditional Mexican food. Had a taste for enchiladas. However, there was not one dish on the menu that even resembled normal. Everything was an upscale version. Not that they did not sound good, but normal is nice, too. The chips and salsa checked in perfect, with the salsa served warm, just the way I like it. We got the Street Corn as an appetizer. It was wonderful. The only problem pre-meal was that the drinking glasses are so small that I felt like Gulliver from Gulliver s Travels. Probably had to have it refilled 10 times. Thank goodness that we had an excellent waitress. For the main coarse, I got the Barbacoa Street Tacos and my wife got the shrimp cocktail. We both started off worried because we had to add salt, which we normally do not do. However, once salted, they were both really good. Didn t like the beans from the start, but they grew on me. But, the rice they serve is green, was like none I ve been served in a Mexican food place, and I m not sold on it. It was a nice dining experience, but expected more for the price. Maybe I ll try it again, but try some of the fancier offerings.

The inside of the building looked really, really nice. The people were really, really friendly. Uh, the food tasted okay. And my wife had cheese enchiladas, which $14 for cheese enchiladas to me, was a little expensive, but overall the atmosphere was good. The service was great and like I said, the food was okay, it was just a little expensive. I cant believe all they have is black beans. I was lucky enough to dine at Jorge s Tex-Mex Cantina on the second day they were open, and they did not disappoint! Before I go any further, I should say that any new restaurant should be reviewed with grace within its first few weeks of opening, as not everything is going to be perfect. However, my review doesn t include any adjustment for them being new because it was such a great experience. I was prepared for quite a long wait but did not experience that! From the moment I walked into the restaurant, I was wowed by the layout and interior design. If you ve ever eaten at Mexican Sugar, you may notice some similarities. The restaurant is upscale without being stuffy and downright beautiful with lots of seating options. We were greeted with a smile from the hosts, and throughout the entire time, the waitstaff was friendly. We were checked in on and greeted by management and the owners. I absolutely love the flavorful and unique menu, which was much needed for Waco. I ordered the Al Carbon steak fajitas, which were out of this world and came with cilantro butter to pour on top that was absolutely amazing. We also ordered the shrimp cocktail that came with pork chicharrones, which was a cool twist. Almost everything on the menu has a bit of a twist to it, including the lima crema (sour cream) and the chimichurri roasted corn basmati rice which is flavorful and has a unique texture. Being a spin-off of the George s Bar and Grill restaurants, I, of course, had to get a Big O (beer), and just like their other restaurants, it comes served in a thick frozen glass. Since my first visit, I ve been several more times, but unfortunately, I can t pry myself away from the fajitas to tell you about anything else on the menu. They are that good! Each time I ve been, the vibe has been amazing, and it s easy to tell that this is already a Waco favorite!

Then I had the brisket mole enchiladas and they are packed with brisket. Frozen Big O margaritas are solid and the draft margaritas are good too. I was a bit surprised the draft ones came in a small glass but they are STRONG so you are getting your monies worth on those! Disappointed in the food. My meal was barely warm when it came to the table. Does your chef know of any other herb than cilantro. It is in everything and is used with a very heavy hand. I have eaten in a lot of Mexican restaurants upscale and Tex Mex and have never been served refried black beans that were so runny that they ozzed over the side of the plate making a terrible mess. And why do you put cilantro in the refried beans. Also what is with the small glasses of tea water and coke. I couldn t believe how small the glass was when the waitress brought it too me. I started laughing and told her that I felt sorry that she would have to keep refilling my drink for me. What a waste of her time. I will say that she kept watch and kept my small little glass filled. The two things I did enjoy w we the crab dip and the street corn. After that everything went down hill. The sauce on my enchiladas was runny and tasteless and had a gritty texture to it. I scraped it off but the corn tortillas had already become soggy from the runny sauce. My biggest suggestion is to get rid of some of the cilantro or at lease make it optional in your dishes so we can choose To have it or not.

Had dinner reservations at 6:45 but didn t get seated until 7:10. When I checked back in with the hostess (around 7) on the status of our table she says, we re getting to you. So does that mean I m next or? Kind of a rude way to respond when I m asking the status of the table. We get seated with Alexis who was fantastic. She was attentive, friendly, & knowledgeable of the menu. We got the trio dip, snapper, & fajitas, all were great except my Brussels were cold. The food runner did bring me a fresh hot side of them though so easy fix. However things got funky when we were getting ready to head out. I ordered a Paloma when we first sat down and I didn t drink much of it. Alexis said they could seal it up & let me take it to go so I didn t have to waste it - perfect, love the option. She takes it back to the service well & sets it down. Another server then comes over and puts a Dos Equis bottle & my drink on a tray and walks my direction. A few tables behind me ordered the Dos Equis and I thought she was bringing my drink back to me until she passes my table entirely. Mind you, this was just a few minutes after Alexis sets it down and it s also completely watered down with a clear straw, not a black straw so it s pretty obvious it s not a fresh drink. She then takes it to a table of three guys that she was serving who also all had full beers in Big Os. I m freaked out at this point because the drink I have been sipping on is now being drank by some random person at another table. That s disgusting.

We ordered the Roasted Poblano & Lump Crab Dip which was delicious with a generous amount of crab, the Gulf Snapper and Shrimp Ceviche which was fresh and perfectly proportioned for 4 of us to enjoy. Next we ordered the street tacos, marinated grilled chicken fajitas and last but not least the Carnitas Spiced Pork Chop! Yes, I capitalized the pork chop so you would remember to order it when you visit as I will not soon forget it. It started with a flavor bomb in my mouth and followed with the most juicy and tender bite of perfection. The best pork chop I have ever had in Waco! As a side I ordered the Chimichurri Orzo which was a complete complement to the dish. Margaritas were enjoyed by all however the mentionable stand out for me was the Tequila Board! There are many different options at different levels ranging from Nuevo to Maestro. Kyle Citrano not only delivered the board, he brought a card with my selections written out and proceeded to give an in depth description of each one that I chose. Our table was impressed with his knowledge and clarity. He let us know they have over 100 tequilas. I will return for other tequila boards and the experience. Did I mention how you should order the Pork Chop!! Every member of the staff at every level offers top notch kindness and hospitality!

So I m giving a 4 not 3 because they are still getting in the groove and kitchen is getting caught up. But one point I want to make a pointer if you are offering picadillo please make it actual picadillo not just ground beef. Drinks were amazing. Husbands food was cold but I know kitchen is getting caught up and getting used to things. *picture note actual picadillo*

No clue on food or atmosphere. Had reservations set and now they said nothing showed. Why is it reservation only in the biggest city in Texas? No clue. Welcome to Chuy s, how many?

I enjoyed it overall. Service was top-notch. The food was decent but not my taste. However, the food did have great appeal on the plate. I will return eventually once the hype dies down to give it another try.

I must admit, the decor was very nice. Something that irritated me was how food was delivered to the bar. Dishes were held at waist level, the food runner had to find a bartender that wasn t busy, and the plates were left sitting on the bar in front of other customer until they figured out who s it was. Other than that, the service was pretty good. I d go back, but be sure you get a reservation. Oh yes, George s is closed on Sunday for his staff to enjoy family and worship. Jorge s is open on Sunday (same owner s) how come?

Nothing is more Waco than Georges. As a Waco native, I grew up eating at Georges. So, I was super-hyped and so rooting for this place. Unfortunately, the hype is inflated and our first visit was a huge let down. We arrived shortly after 6pm on a Saturday, and this place was already PACKED. We were told that table service required a reservation. Like many others I had no idea that reservations were required. In the cultural wasteland that is Waco, it is not at all surprising that this would be the case. A new restaurant that with such local hype...yeah, cant be mad about that. That one is on me. That being said, we had NO problem immediately finding two seats at the bar. We sat down and over the next ten minutes, we were told by 4 different bar staff members that they would be right with us. Finally, someone asked if we were waiting for a table or eating at the bar. We told him we were eating there. The bartender gave us our menus. From that point it took another twenty minutes to get chips, water, queso, and finally the opportunity to order. I ordered the cheese and chili con carne enchiladas. My wife ordered chicken quesadillas. It took about another 20 minutes to get our food...not too bad, considering how busy it was. When the food arrived, the presentation was horrible. My plate was so overloaded with black beans and chili that it had spilled over the sides and was running down the bottom of the plate. The temperature of the food was warm, not hot. As a chili connoisseur and winner of multiple chili competitions, I have to say the chili was...atrocious. It was so oversaturated with (what tasted to me as Ancho) chili powder that you literally could taste nothing else. There was so much of it, that I couldnt even find (or taste) the cheese stuffed enchiladas underneath. The borracha black beans were equally unappealing. The chimichurri corn basmati rice was decent. By contrast, my wifes plate was a wasteland with three quesadillas, a small side of the same borracha black beans, and a massive scoop of the rice. I didnt try her quesadillas, but she said they were decent. She found my chili con carne equally unappetizing. The one thing that was good...the queso blanco. That was about it. I do have to say, the restaurant itself is beautiful. The décor and atmosphere is amazing. As a dutiful local guide, our first visit will not be our last. I feel any restaurant deserves at least two visits to prove itself. But the next visit will have to be top notch to overcome the first impression it left me with.

Delicious food! Great service! Beautiful restaurant! We started out with the Tres amigos dip board. We had guacamole, queso Blanco and the avocado dip or Jorge s dip. All three were delicious. Best chicken fajitas we ve ever tasted. The cheese enchiladas were delicious. The Smashburger was out of this world. The Barbacoa brisket tacos were very good. Jorge s nachos were delicious for the sides the rice, the Mexican Street corn tortillas and refried beans were excellent. And then we ended the meal with sopapillas and churros Yum!!! What a great dining experience. We will be back next time we are in Waco.

We were happy to see Jorge s is not Tex Mex like all the other Mexican restaurants in Waco. The prices were spot on for the quality of the food and drinks. Waco needed this!

Everything about this place is first class and they were extremely smart to make it reservation only for the first few weeks of operation. I do not understand why other patrons are giving 1 star reviews when it clearly states on their website and facebook page that it is reservation only. We did make a reservation a few days in advance and it was extremely easy. When we got there we just had to wait approximately 10 minutes before we were seated. They served fresh chips along with red and green salsa, both were some of the best i have had in waco. The entres looked and tasted fantastic (sorry i didn t take a pic) and the entire time we were there i never once had an empty glass. We had 6 in our party and the bill was a little over $100 which is very competitively priced with other high end Mexican restaurants in the area. We definitely will be back to try some more of their massive menu. Parking: There is parking all around the restaurant. Parking will not be an issue here

The El Jorge Nitro Margarita on the rocks was excellent. The owner stopped by to chit chat at our table and the waitstaff was very attentive. We had the Del Mar enchiladas and the Cilantro Lime Snapper. Both were delicious and well prepared. The salsas were good and spicy. I have only one small complaint and that is there was a bit too much cumin (comino) in the beans.

What can I say, its Texmex... Nothing really good or to write home about, beans had waaaay too much cumin and reminded me of bad body odor. Tacos were disappointing and flavorless, I got the slow cooked brisket. Queso for appetizer, very thick and tastes like crafts singles white cheddar. Chips and tortillas are great The meats and the overall presentations of the food is mediocre, just another disappointment white washed texmex joint here in TX. First and last time coming, sorry.
