My first time at this location. For starters the whole experience took 40 minutes. From the time we got in line at the drive thru from the time we were handed food 40 minutes. I ordered a #1 and #3. Worker was confused on if we had paid or not showing me that there was no organization inside revealing why it is taking so long. When we received the food, it just didn t hit like Dave s usually does. Didnt get pickles, got my spice level wrong, chicken seemed over fried and not juicy. I d drive out of my way to avoid this location.

Second time I ve tried to come here. Place is chaotic. 15min wait for fast food?!? Hire more people. Daves hot chicken is opening all over this nation. If you can t keep staff, then slow down. Nobody wants to wait for FAST FOOD! Get it together stop hiring children. Hire leaders who know how to run a business. Very sad.

Walked into restaurant with two employees smoking by entrance door. One walked into the bathroom after I walked into restaurant and stayed in the bathroom for over 15 minutes. The other person outside stayed outside smoking. I could have robbed the place and no one was there to stop me.

Saw a billboard outside of Waco, checked out the menu and placed an online pickup order. We shared the two slider meal and I added some kale slaw. Chicken was tender and juicy. I ordered the lightly mild and the hubs mild. We will up it the next two levels on a future trip. I would have liked a bit more kale with the slaw but it was crisp and fresh and tasty. Pickles were great. My husband had the fries and his sandwich with just ckn and sauce. He really enjoyed them. Definitely will go back to try more spice, tenders and top loaded shakes!

Decided to check out this location after trying Daves in Denver. We were on our way home from Dallas and decided to use the drive-thru. Home was about 45 minutes away, so I asked that all condiments be placed on the side so the food would not get soggy. Everything was done as requested, and the person who took our order was patient and extremely helpful. When I asked for sauce, he gave me a recommendation to mix the Daves sauce with honey, and it was a hit. Big props to him for being a great person to order from. The chicken was well-seasoned and spicy, the fries and condiments were all good, which made for an awesome lunch at home. Next time Im in Waco, I will definitely visit this location again.

This was me and my husbands first time trying Daves hot chicken. We are both pleasantly surprised. 9/10! We did wait a little while at the drive-through for our food, but all that told us was that the food was cook to order. Everything came out fresh, neat, and put together with care in the togo boxed with extra extra extra sauces!! Napkins, utensils, and all included. Fries were extra crispy with the perfect amount of seasoning. Delicious. Chicken was also very crispy hot and fresh. My husband had hot and I had mild. His had a perfect hot kick which pair perfectly with the honey packets. Cole saw was INSIDE the sandwich which helped manage the heat and tasted delicious with the mild. Extra pickles included on the side and the Mac and cheese was very fresh and hot. We dont really do reviews but this food deserves it. Staff was outstanding and hospitable! Highly recommend!!

Juan Reyna served us upon entering Dave s Hot chicken and my wife and both were taken back on Mr. Reyna s exceptional service and attitude. He had a smile that was contagious and made us smile. While we ate our amazing food my wife and I discussed how sweet and genuine Mr. Reyna was and after finishing our 5/5 meal we went to go thank him and let him know about his exceptional attitude. In my opinion I think this is the best fast food chicken in Texas, compared to Zaxbys, Canes, Golden Chick, Bushs, Churchs, Chik fil a, Popeyes, KFC. The one thing I dont recommend from here is the Reaper, the heat is there and is no issue, but thats all youre going to taste. The extra hot just under reapers is absolute money, plus the crinkle cut fried are actually CRISPY AND SEASONED. Vegetarian options: None Parking: If youre coming up 35 north have fun navigating around the hotel to get there, if youre southbound its zero issue. Kid-friendliness: Easily inviting

Went to Dave s hot chicken in Waco 8/3/2024. It s about 45 minutes from my house in Temple. I order two #2. One order extra hot and the other is reaper. On both orders I order no slaw, no pickles, no slop sauce (Apparently no pickles means no pickles on the slider per the receipt, crazy I meant NO pickles at all). The extra hot order I ate at the store, and it was fine. Later on when I get home, I am ready to try the reaper sandwiches, open the box, pickles on the fries, slop sauce on the sandwich. Mistakes happen, but I ve had enough of it. It is everywhere I go, and I am just tired of it. Call the restaurant and the message is basically pushing you to the website. Asks you if you still want to talk to someone, nope can t do hangs up. I guess I have to go to the website. I filled out a survey and the next day they give me a Sorry, hers a code for a free meal order online message. I don t order food online, and I am not driving another 90 minutes round trip to pick it up. I would accept a refund. The food is still sitting on my counter, I did not eat it because the order isn t a suggestion, it s how I eat. I don t want that stuff on my food. I will never go here again if I am in town. Hope that 15 bucks gets you where you need to be, Dave.

It was first time ever trying Dave s. I always saw videos of it on social media and it really interested me but what was upsetting was that there s no Dave s in my main city, so my parents and I were just passing through here and I decided to go here to get some of the chicken tenders. They were juicy and overall delicious, but the only problem was that the spice level I chose, Hot, just wasn t for me. It was good but I don t think that I could handle the spice well just yet. Visited this place twice, about a week in between visits. They are unreasonably slow, taking up to 20-30 minutes just to get an order from the drive thru. Food was okay the first time, certainly not worth the wait (which was longer) or up-charge (why was it more expensive that week?), but to their credit, the second was probably the best Ive ever had at a Daves. Between that and how generally nice the staff has been, I think the issue here is more theyre understaffed. Youll likely enjoy the food, just consider going in or camping out in your car for a while.

This was the first Daves Hot Chicken Ive had where the reaper is actually reaping! And Ive been to every one in Dallas. I had to run back inside to cool my mouth down with water. Walking inside the building and feeling the vibes of the cool art was alright. But the food on the other hand? Those influencers promoting this food are crazy. Too many spice levels to choose between when they all taste like a mouthful of chili powder with each bite. It s a red 40 attack, I could feel my insides bubbling as I ate. The workers stared, but service was quick and the menu was simple, easy to navigate. The chicken tenders are HUGE. $37 for 4 chicken tenders was insane, but I guess you get your moneys worth. Even if it doesn t taste good. Shoulda just went to Wendy s and ordered spicy nuggets instead. Do not recommend.

Walked in, and it has a very clean and spacious atmosphere. I order the sliders and strips, very hot, and I m not disappointed. Food looks, smells and tastes great. The Cole slaw and pickles help to soften the heat, but great nonetheless. I also ordered the Mac n cheese. It s tasty but wouldn t be disappointed to miss it next time. I did try the Dave s sauce and honey on the strips, and while it s a great addition, don t be fooled. Dave s Hot chicken can stand on its own. I m happy to see the honey as all honey, (not a honey sauce) Milk shake was delicious. I ll be stopping again when I pass through Waco. Don t miss out. Also, I ordered 2 sliders and t strips, I climb broadcast towers and burn a lot of calories and carbs, and I m very full with these portions. Parking: Around 40 parking spots, not great for truck and trailers, but swing in and you might get a spot anyway!

Their menus in the drive through are not reflective of the true price. I ordered a #4, which is supposed to be $9.99 and was charged $12.49 (before tax) for the meal. Employees including the manager were incredibly disrespectful telling me they were not able to do anything, and that the indoor menus were changed. When issuing me a refund. The manager simply printed our a receipt for $0.00 and told me it was refund.

My sister-in-law didnt realize she had to order drinks separate from the combo order. When I was ordering my meal, they gave me an extra cup for her and apologized for the miscommunication. I love this as it wasnt their fault, but they still took care of it and gave customer service as well as good recommendations on the food and how to customize it with different sauces. Above average fried chicken and other ingredients make for a delicious fried chicken sandwich. Medium sauce is not very spicy at all so next time will try hot or hotter. Great, well seasoned crinkle cut fries. Amazing service!! Really all of the employees were so delightfully kind and genuinely caring. Vegetarian options: Not-chicken which is fried cauliflower

this place is actually HORRIBLE !! NOTHING compared to the DFW locations. it said they close at 11pm and i m coming from dallas this night wanting to get some on my drive to family, and when i get there it s 10:30pm and i go to the door to go inside, two girls are at the door telling me they are closed. like what? y all still had 30 more minutes to be open back in dallas, they totally let me in and let me order, but here. extremely terrible service.

Food was so hot and flavorful. The staff wasnt great at all. The gal taking our order was strange. No smiles, not helpful and treated us like we were dumb. She ran out a few times. Main issue was our food took over 20+minutes to come out and we were on a road trip. Slowest service ever. We saw a few people leave. So strange. Due to the wait time we wouldnt stop again or recommend.

The food was good but not great. It wouldnt be a place I would go back to. They have different levels of hot. The chicken was a little on the dry side. They are very expensive. You will pay anywhere between $12.49-15.47 for a sandwich, and that does not include fries or a drink.

Great chicken! Love the cheese fries! Only thing negative, the girl got upset when we didnt tip. She thought, leaning on the counter with no customer service, deserved a tip. All she did was put the order in. They definitely need to remove that option when ordering. Its stupid. Food

Y all Dave s Hot Chicken is not only mind-blowing, but addictive. Nothing compares to their menu and other chicken eateries take a long backseat to Dave s. Truly, nothing even comes close to Dave s Hot Chicken. When you have that first bite, you will wonder WHY you ve been missing Dave s all your life. The establishment in Waco always offers exceptional customer service. The staff there is great, and the atmosphere makes it for an enjoyable place to enjoy your meal. The place is spotless, and the lively décor is so fun. We stop by every time we are in Waco or passing through, and we never miss an opportunity for a meal from Dave s. We have dined in and gone through the drive-thru multiple times, and every experience has always been spectacular. I always order a slider or two, which has kale slaw, pickles, and Dave s sauce, along with their fabulously seasoned cheese fries. I highly recommend the mac & cheese as well. It s full of creamy, cheesy goodness. You can choose the spice level of your chicken, from no spice to the Reaper, and they always prepare everything to perfection, perfectly crispy and seasoned. Nothing compares to the crunchiness and burst of flavor of their sliders, and Dave s Sauce is absolutely divine. If you want mind-blowing comfort food, stop in, and visit Dave s. You will be glad you did! The food is addictively DELICIOUS! Trust me, they destroy all other chicken eateries and chains. Dave s Hot Chicken is an absolute must!
