I just got home with my most recent patients of Dr. Cochran. 4 kittens. 2 boys-2 girls. 4 months old. Now neutered and fully vaccinated. They seem fully recovered, hungry, sleepy and actively playing together. Dr. Sandra Cochran has neutered approximately 22 cats for my family. We love her and admire her work with cats and dogs. Thank you, Dr. Cochran. Edit1: we drive 3 hours to get to Acres of Animals. We have even rented a hotel room for the night while we wait for our pets to be fixed. Lots to see around Victoria. Start with the beautiful missions from another time. Edit2: I have read about people losing a pet after it received its surgery. Make sure you are not having them double dosed on topical flea protection. I almost lost my 8 year old male recently. Pay attention to the food you are buying in a bag or can to feed your precious pets. This stuff could be slowly killing them, too. I recommend watching Dr. Marty Goldstein regarding food for pets. It is worth your while. 9/5/24: we just picked up the orange guys. Neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and deflead. 13 weeks old male gingers. They are riding quietly, sleeping mostly, as we drive home. These beautiful boys are going to their forever home together, next week. My sincere gratitude to Dr. Sandra Cochran for all she does.

I really thought this place was a blessing when I brought my cat there to get spayed, but after I brought her home she had worms. After which I had friends tell me they had brought their dogs there before and the dogs got sick. The kennel had known about the sickness going around the dogs, but said nothing to my friend. This is in no way a review on the vet that does the surgeries there, but I will never take another animal there.

We didn t mind the hour drive to get to this volunteer animal hospital. We got Trini (Citrine) neutered, rabies injection and ear tipped for $15. Trini was up and tearing around the house that day (We ve decided to make him an indoor cat). And it s so important to help keep the feral cat population down. We always get the females spayed and had been going to a vet in Beeville but that can get a bit expensive. We have quite a herd of outdoor cats. Necessary as we live out in the country and they keep the rodent population down. I would definitely recommend Acres of Animals.

Took 3 cats that were perfectly healthy to this location for spay services last week. All three came home with infections and were extremely sick. A mixture of poor environment / dirty tools. The urgent care facility charged $1600 per cat to clean up the butchered surgery given to our cats including cutting out all infected tissue. $30 sounds cheap but youll end up paying nearly $2000 in the end per cat if you want your pets to live afterwards. I do not recommend supporting poorly ran facilities like this.

Dr. Cochran is great and knows her stuff, shes very down to earth and matter of fact. When Ive needed medications for my current pup, and my wallet has been thin, shes worked with me. Taking an already stressful situation, a miserable dog with allergies, coupled with my worries about her and lack of funds, Dr. Cochran melted those troubles away. My pup gets excited to see her, thats how great Dr. Cochran is!!!

My sister took her family s support kitten to get fixed here and within 2 days she passed away! I cannot believe it! What a horrible tragedy! From the reviews, it seems this happens often. I do not recommend this establishment to anyone. Absolutely disgusted. God bless you people.

Ive been taking my cats and my 3 dogs here for 12 years. For me its been a comfort knowing that the people are not going to charge me an arm and a leg. Theyre reasonable, there are no add ons or surprises. Its a flat fee. This last time I went there I asked if they could give them flee meds and much to my relief she happily yes maam we give them flee, rabies, kitty parvo, and if youd like we can clip their ears so you know that theyve been taken care of. I asked her how much that would be she responded back with a reasonable rate. In times of emergency Ive had to take my pets to other vets and I walk out feeling like someone just robbed me. Like theyve taken their skill to line their pockets meanwhile I have no money left over for even a snack. Not to mention the red tape just to get to see the vet. Its just not convenient. This is just one persons opinion. Take it for what its worth I hope its helps someone make a good decision for themselves.

This places has hundreds of cats roaming around. When called about a kitten found on the side of the road they would not help @adopt a pet would not help either. Was told to take to animal control where a 4 week old kitten will probably be put to sleep.

Had res for Thanksgiving for my 2 big dogs. Well, a little Doxie showed up in my yard and no one claimed him. So asked it he could kennel up with us as we also had a Guinea Pig. Lol. No problem they said. So all turned out excellent. One of Dr Cochran s staff took in the little doxie and made him hers. Happy ending for all

I took my kittens here to be fixed. I have taken a lot of cats and kittens to be fixed here. Unfortunately when I took my kittens last month 2 of them got sick and died. They still are not sure what happened. They do 20 -50 cats on Wednesday and Saturday and it rarely happens, but it does happen. These are the 2 that died. I take care of 9 cats and the rest had no problems

The veterinarian informed me of everything I needed to know about the 11 feral cats we took in and I picked up after the spaying/neutering of each one. There were sweet cats lying around the place and they all looked very content and healthy with thier lives. The vet and the staff were friendly, polite, and caring. I CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!! I ve taken my cats here to get spayed and within days they were gravely ill, I spent $1000 on their vet bills because of the screw ups this place caused. My friend recently took her cats here to get spayed and now they are dead. Within days they got sick because of infection from this surgery and died. They are dead because of this place. Please, I m begging you to please not take your pets here. We always went because it was cheap but now I know there s a reason why. The cats outside look sickly themselves and the area is just dirty in general. There are many non profits that spay and there s also vets that have payment plans. If you take your cats here to get spayed/neutered you re giving them a death sentence. I wish someone had warned us, the most I can do now is warn you guys.

I took a healthy momma cat and 5 healthy playful kittens. I was trying to do the right thing by getting them spayed/neutered. As others have stated in reviews here within 2 weeks, 2 kittens have died. 2 more and the momma cat are very sick and after a $400.00 vet bill today to try and save them it appears inevitable they will Die a grueling death also, had I known and read the reviews I would have had them euthanized today because the deaths are painful and not something I want to see over and over. They are suffering and I can t do anything to help them. Please do your research. Statements regarding the facility cleanliness and the overall process was not pleasant at all. I am broken hearted, All of the animals deserve better.

Do not take your cats here!! Took my cats here for a spay and neuter and they ended up getting sick. Within the week the sickness spread to my indoor cats. I have brought 6 cats to be seen by Dr. Cochran. Shes one of the best vets in the area. All of our cats returned to us in excellent condition and recovered from post-spay/neutering procedures rapidly. All except one, but Dr. Cochran gave our momma kitty (who also needed to be spayed) an antibiotic to clear up a minor infection that she got after the procedure and it was gone in 3 days.

DO NOT take your pets here to get spayed or neutered. We took two females and a male and all three died within two weeks. We took the last surviving one to see if Dr Cochran could save her and she passed away the night after. When we went to go back to get her body so we could bury her, we were given the wrong cat. How could someone be so careless? Upon return to get the right cat, the owner of the cat we were accidentally given was also there. Her cat had also died after getting neutered at Animals of Acres. If you want to never see your pets again, than by all means, bring them to Dr. Crochan. Otherwise, stay away from this place. We made the mistake of trusting them and have now buried our three cats in the last week and a half. These people were careless and have killed our pets.

I want to get this information out there to save animals from this place. We took our perfect happy healthy cat to get neutered and a week later he was fighting for his life. There is over 100 cats that roam around at the office and its filthy. Needless to say. Our cat declined quickly. The doctor called us that he passed. And when we went to pick him up so we can have a proper burial at home they told us they gave our cat to another family. Their cat had passed away also. When they arrived home they realized the cat in the pillow case was not their cat. And they said they would bring our cat back and get the correct cat. This whole ordeal was emotionally painful on both parties and they need to be held responsible. They need to take accountability. Doctor Cochran didnt apologize she just put the blame on Joy. She runs the place and should be held responsible too! She didnt show sympathy she just kept going on as if nothing happened. A lot of cats have lost their life due to animal acres. And no one is being held responsible. We need to get this out to people to SAVE these animals life. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE! Please Share this with anyone who has pets.

The main vet there is sweet and caring. Would recommend her to friends. I just have one small problem..... Two of my cats have died since going there. One was a 3 week old kitten named Maui Scar and the second one was a 2 year old cat named Loki Tony Stark. At the time each cat was brought in she had said they were fine then a few plus hours later I found them dead..... I dont understand this at all. I recently took two male cats here for a neuter. They were dropped off happy, healthy, friendly boys. Upon pick up I immediately noticed they were behaving odd. Two days later both boys were wheezing, hacking, and pouring snot from their nostrils. Their mysterious illness then transferred to my other two female cats. A total of 4 cats were now suffering from this illness. Thankfully I acted quickly and was able to save 3 of the 4. This place is filthy, and filled with atleast 100 free roaming cats, lord knows what they carry. Be aware the price may be great but, is it worth your pets life?

Highly recommend acers to everyone. Ive been in rescue for years in 3 cities. Never have a met a vet as caring as her. Not only is she caring she actually cares about your pet. Not just money. Her staff is so friendly and answer any questions. I think the best part is all the cats that live there that welcome you. I enjoyed most waiting for my turn and playing with the cats. my dog didnt seem to mind them either. So over all 10 stars if I could.

The ladies there are always helpful, caring & knowledgeable. Cheapest place in town to neuter/spay your cat. You can tell how much they love animals, doing all they can to help. The prices are so cheap they have to do this at cost. I go once a month for the flea meds.

The staff was friendly. Its a cat haven, theyre literally every where. However, the 4 that we took picked up some kind of bug, one kitten died and the other 3 are on the mend. They were dehydrated when we picked them up. Took to a different Vet so they were not reintroduced to whatever they picked up. Ive seen nothing but good things on this vet but I still feel like I took my cats to mexico for treatment..
