Lady at the desk was very courteous and remembered that I was pre-checked in. Only one luggage cart, and it was in someones room. They finally brought it down. Several patrons were hanging around the hotel lobby desk, flirting with the hotel clerk. A big plus is a Longhorn Steakhouse nextdoor. Food and drinks: Longhorn Steakhouse nextdoor. Several fastfood and other restaurants nearby. Next to the Victoria Mall.

Considering the location and price, this hotel is amazing. Clean rooms, quiet (yet powerful) AC, enough parking. A mall with diverse fastfoods and a restaurant or two close by.

I had come to Victoria for a grad school orientation and the stay was mid. I wish they had not put me in a room right next to the front desk, I think its because they saw me young. It was hard to sleep at night with the noise in the hallways and the bathroom ceiling extractor was loud. The iron had some kind of dirt in the holes and it made it hard to iron my clothes. I like that the hotel is walking distance to the mall, target and a few restaurants.

The room was clean but very old, outdated and smelled weird; bed was not comfortable! Had terrible service, went to the front desk a few times and no one would be there, I had to wait around and/or yell for someone before I got any help... literally every time I left the hotel or returned, there was no one at the desk. When I checked out, after waiting for the desk clerk for several minutes, he was unable to give me a receipt and I had to wait 5 days before I finally got it (after having to call the Marriott customer service line twice and they had to start a support ticket! I would NEVER stay here again!

The staff here has charged me twice for one room and one night. They have told me for 2 weeks now (since 1st noticing the double charge on June 12) the manager would call me to refund. The manager has never called me. I ve stopped believing anything f they say on the phone because none of it has happened or been resolved. It s been 2 weeks, please just refund the extra charge. I have reported you to your corporate office and was told you would be fined if you don t respond. Noteworthy details: Feels scammy

Pool is still closed (its been several months), walls are super then and you could hear and feel the nearby traffic very well. Room was clean, but smelled strong of Frebreeze, which concerned me. Bathroom door wouldnt latch, which wasnt a big deal, but worth mentioning. The hotel shows signs of aging and heavy use and needs to be refreshed from top to bottom. Next time I will stay at a Marriott hotel in the area, I will stay at Courtyard l, which is very close by. Rooms: Room was clean, but smelled strong of Frebreeze, which concerned me. Bathroom door wouldnt latch, which wasnt a big deal, but worth mentioning.

I stay in hotels about 90 nights per year, its rare for me to leave a negative review. However, this particular experience stands out as exceptionally below par. Despite the appealing exterior, the interior of the hotel seemed neglected, with evident lack of updates or repairs. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to find the pool out of order, without any prior notice. The room itself exhibited noticeable signs of wear, from the tired carpet to the worn linens, not to mention the TV did not work. Breakfast was practically inedible and the hotel staff were underwhelming. Considering similar feedback from other guests, its high time for corporate intervention. This is running the brand.

Everything was below par, we reserved a room with a king sized bed weeks in advance but when we get there we are told they have none and that we can take a room with two queens. They said the price would be the same or less but lo and behold when we check out it s more expensive. The breakfast bad even for hotel breakfast. Bathroom door didn t lock, and weird noises in the room all night.

On a business trip for work. My hotel stay here was DISGUSTING!! I stay in this hotel for only two nights. I was supposed to stay for a whole week, but I ended up getting bitten up by nasty bed bugs. I noticed several red marks all over my body and became very itchy. I immediately went downstairs to speak with the front desk clerk concerning this issue. I explained to him what was going on in room 206 and showed him the bite marks I had gotten. He looked at me like i was all crazy and asked if I needed some medicine. I asked to speak to the manager. Another guy comes out from the back office. I had to reexplain to him what was going on. After I explained to him what was going on, he asked for me to hold on and wait to the side so he could check in a new customer. As I was waiting, a lady approached me. Im not sure shes the manager/owner, but her hair was all over her head.So I explained everything to her what the situation was and showed her all of the red bite marks on my body. She had the audacity to ask me if I had a skin allergy. I told her yes!! From these nasty bugs!!! The only thing she said was sorry, and she just stood there quietly looking crazy. She wanted to give me another room, but I declined and checked out. So believe me, this is not their first time hearing about bed bugs. Also, the shower room had mold. The Tv Control did not work.so The room had a funny smell to it. The elevator didnt work. I had to drag all my luggage up two flights upstairs. The breakfast food was a joke. I have never experienced anything like this. I was very disturbed and disgusted with my stay here.I have always stayed at a Marriott and i have never had any issues like this. This establishment its an embarrassment to the Marriott, and they do not care about the safety and well-being of their customers. You would think by this hotel carrying the name Marriott. It would be up to standards, but I guess not!! These bed bug issues need to be addressed immediately, or this hotel needs to be shut down. Please dont waste your time.

I stayed in the 3rd floor. There are lights in the parking lot and the room I stayed in the light was super bright shining into the room all night. It made it hard to sleep since it looked like daylight outside. The lobby, hallways, and elevator are hot and muggy but the room was nice and cool. It feels like an old hotel but it has been decently taken care of so it doesnt look dilapidated. The pool has been closed for months seemingly from other reviews. I stayed the end of April 2024 and it was closed as of then. The room was clean, the shower dripped and the sink leaked onto the counter when you used it. Breakfast included eggs(sucked) sausage patties, yogurt, cereal, Oatmeal, and a toppings bar. Overall not terrible, but not great, there are better hotels in the area, choose one of them instead

Came to town for an emergency and didn t have time to analyze reviews etc. Our room stunk, brown poop like stuff on the wall, TV didn t work. At breakfast next morning found a carton of milk to be spoiled and eggs and such with no serving utensils. Not the experience we expected.

This facility is not deserving of the Marriott name. Breakfast was virtually nonexistent. The bathroom in my room is dirty, and there were hairs on the walls of the shower stall. I asked the front desk to have housekeeping address the dirty bathroom. When I came back to the room tonight, there were still someone s hairs In the shower. Trash had been emptied, towels have been changed, although I hung up my towels. The bed was not made. Never again. Food and drinks: Breakfast buffet was nonexistent. We have stayed at this motel in past without any negative incidents. We have stayed at Fairfield Inns in other cities without negative incidents. This time was a game changer. Room was cramped and very dimly lite. No way could a person read at night with the inadequate lighting. Front desk was poorly attended. It seemed to be more important for employees to go outside to smoke frequently. Saw no attendant in breakfast room when we entered at 8:05a on 11/10/23. Eggs were cold, other supposed hot items were not labeled so you didnt know what they were, noone to replenish items as they ran out. Bagel cut and tasted like it was a week old. Overall, not a good start to my day and then to have to drive a distance in more rain. I will say that when we encountered staff (infrequently) they were polite and courteous.

First time staying in Victoria, so Priceline suggested this place. The room is pretty nice and the front desk was really helpful in getting us settled in. It s pretty close to everything you might need including fast food, restaurants and even a target right across the street. My only real complaint about this hotel is the fact the parking lot was completely pitch black until maybe 11 o clock at night. A lot of us parked our vehicles as close as we could to the red lobster next door but eventually, the lights kicked in and I feel a lot better.

Hotel staff at first played it off as if they couldnt smell it and then they mentioned that they have been burning properly and it should not be noticed. A little bit later in the conversation they stated we cannot tell you what that order is. As in they knew what it was but could not tell their guests. The parking lot was empty and for a very good reason. Health department will be called in the morning. This is a real review written September 25th 2022

Probably the worst Marriott property I ve ever been to. If I had to describe it in one word, it would just be: dirty. The lobby has an interesting smell and the rooms were all filthy. I got checked in and went to my room. It was not only dirty but there were what I originally thought were roaches EVERYWHERE. After killing one I realized they were crickets. I went back to the front desk and asked to move rooms. I went up to the second floor and it was actually worse. I took a look around and I decided it was time to go. I didn t feel comfortable paying to stay there so I checked out about 45 minutes after I originally checked it. I told the lady at the front desk about my concerns and she was incredibly rude and couldn t care any less. I checked out and drove a half mile down the street to a different Marriott property. If you re passing through the area, do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Having a conversation with another person after talking to the police I called and politely asked for corporate number. Trying to get the correct name of the very rude clerk she laughed and said oh that was me. I asked why would you say the police had my brothers Rolex knowing they did not have it? She hung up in my face. Then proceeded to call the VPD and make a false report that I called cussing and yelling. The police called my brother phone and states this is what she called and reported. Now why would you call and lie on me like that? Especially after I told you I own 2 successful businesses of my own!! She must not be aware of calling and making false police reports can get yall SUED! Thank you maam I do have a attorney. Yall need to hire better people. We made the trip back to the hotel early in the morning to take a look ourselves and ended up empty handed so I went and talked with Joseph at the front desk as well as Yolanda a cleaning lady and they both were very kind and genuinely wantied to help me find our daughters two little stuffed animals.. I again left my name and number with the both of them and not 30 minutes later (before we had left Victoria to head home to DFW) we got a call back and Yolanda had found not only the two toys but a binky and phone charger as well! I am so grateful that Fairfield Marriott has such a caring and compassionate staff or I m sure her toys and all the memories attached to them would ve been gone forever and we d have a sad toddler on our hands! Candy on the floor, chicken bones in the night stand cabinet, dirty floors, taco wrappings in front and beside the refrigerator. Old food in the refrigerator, raspberries. The sheets looked filthy like they have been slept in , and bed was then remade without replacing sheets. Told the person working up front did not seem to care, so I don t mind posting this and never returning to that poorly ran establishment.

The staff is very friendly, and the room was comfortable. It s an older Fairfield, but they are very clean and comfortable rooms. It could use a renovation, but they do a good job keeping it up. We wanted to get out of Houston for a few nights, and Victoria has a lot to offer. We found a huge park by the river with great trails to walk. Downtown Victoria has a lot of Texas history and some amazing restaurants. This hotel gave us a nice relaxing escape.

I have stayed at a lot of Marriotts all over the United States. Most of them in Houston, Dallas and El Paso. But, this particular Marriott has surpassed customer service by far.. The only shocking down fall is they have no mats in the tubs to prevent you from falling.. Soo, be extra careful when you shower

This stay was a disaster. When I checked in, the desk person had their mask under their chin, even though it was a city law that everyone had to wear masks. The hotel was dated and musky, but I thought how bad could it be for a night or two? I quickly found out. When I got to my room I tried to turn on the TV and only got snow. After I. called downstairs to ask for help the front desk person came up and messed with the remote, but as soon as she was outside the door it went out again. When I waited on the bed for her to return, I saw movement, and saw that there were not only ants on the nightstand, headboard, and lamp, they were in the sheets of the bed! They literally were everywhere, and I was staying on the third floor. After that she moved me, said the manager would get in touch with me, and I made it through the stay. I agree what other people have said. We are paying the same price as I have always paid with drastically reduced services including what used to be a full hot breakfast. I understand the issues right now, but with no maid service available during your stay, the pool etc. closed up and minimal staff available, you would think that they would compensate with over the top customer service and a good healthy breakfast, even though it would have to be wrapped and cold. Instead, I was never contacted by the manager to apologize having an ant infestation in my room, and the breakfast consisted of Pop Tarts, sugar laden breakfast bars, and lemon bars. No fruit, yogurt, milk, juice, or anything that would have gotten my day off to a healthy start. I am a gold member with Marriott, and I expect a lot more. I wont be staying here again.

We stayed one night while we were evacuating from Houston and Sarah is just the kindest person. She was very helpful throughout our one night stay, she already had her hands full because of all the people who were there evacuating but she stayed being so polite and patient and still went out of her way to help us. We really very much appreciated her help. The rooms were very clean, as well as the lobby. No complaints about anything really, we had a great experience.

It was fair, theyre really bad at answering the phones wether you call from your cell or the room. They insert a note that housekeeping wont be servicing your room while youre there until your third day which I didnt like. Pool and gym are off limits because of covid. Their breakfast consists of muffins, granola bars and bottled water. They could do better than that considering theyre still charging full price. The room had visible dust on the lamp shades and alarm clock which is suprising considering theyre supposed to be deep cleaning the rooms. On a positive note, the hotel is nice and modern. The staff is polite and the beds are awesome.

Awesome stay, very nice front desk staff and although I visited during the pandemic, everything was pretty much in tact. The only reason for not rating 5stars is due to there being trash swept against the corner wall in the bedroom, hair on the bathroom floor and underneath the sink hadnt been mopped. Other than that, I would visit again

However, the staff are excellent, and the rooms smell fresh and bedding is clean. Dennys is across the street and its a good one. Great food and cheap eats.

It was nice. Not as luxurious as the Marriott Courtyard down the street. However the Courtyard does not have free breakfast. My favorite things to eat here were the cheese omelets and sausage patties and occasionally the waffles, but they only had skim milk -.- The elevators are rusty and the bathrooms need clean detailing work. This hotel gets 2 stars because their gym door does not work. I had to ask the manager to manually let me in and the treadmills don t work and are out of order. As well as the room is so small I literally felt like I was working out in a closet. Another bad thing was the staff was ghetto and of poor service. The corner market wasn t stocked well enough it looked very empty. The breakfast lady shared too much information about herself that should have been kept private. The hotel is missing an outdoor patio set to relax and hold an open conversation for loud talks or good chats.

Clean, comfortable, good breakfast, and good rates. Unless you are looking for posh and luxury, this hotel works just fine for ones needs. I did stay in the king executive suite which is a larger room than others I believe. But it is well set up and worth the price for a couple days work and stay. The staff is also very nice and friendly. The reason for the one star off is just in regard to the pool. While indoor pools are a great thing, the amount of chlorine used seems too much and the strong chlorine smell is suffocating and makes eyes burn, other than being not good for the skin. Would request all hotel managements having chlorine pools to consider switching to salt water pools.

Room was great but this location isnt very child/family friendly. Our big group was in town for a big tournament (so lots of children and fast paced morning for many families). First, there where big room reservation issues, but we moved past it. Next, upon arriving back from dinner in the freezing cold the kids really wanted hot chocolate. Thats actually what they kept asking for because they knew the hotel had. It was late but there where 2 packets left. I asked the front desk if by any chance they had more. He rudely responded thats all we have. I clarified are you sure theres no more, please, maybe underneath the counter.? ( where the set up was). He looked highly annoyed and said no thats it. Maybe there wasnt anymore but his leave me alone demeanor convinced me other wise. I get it, its not complimentary all night, but it was SO cold out. Maybe we had just interrupted a personal phone call. Comments by a kitchen staff in the morning didnt help either, oh what a mess, I was going to help that littlr girl with her drink so she didnt make a mess, but its already a mess. I thought to myself, seriously lady? It took 30 mins for eggs and sausage refill and no one made a big deal about that. The other 2 where sweet, but it seems not all staff are used to a busy family Saturday at work.

They need more variety in it. Instead of a small generic breakfast it should have a better selection. Thats why it wont be recieving a 5 star rating. Improve your breakfast and youll deserve 5 stars.

We got back from my grandmas funeral and find we couldnt open the door to our room. Management had disabled our key and gave the room to someone else. We still dont know if anyone had accessed our room while we were gone to the funeral. Then, the manager was rude to my husband and only offered 10% off the bill! I had a fussy toddler with a dirty diaper that stunk and had to wait quite a while outside the hotel room while they fixed their mistake. Unable to change my toddlers diaper because all of her supplies where in the room (we had run out of diapers in her diaper bag). The front desk staff were polite, but the manager was horrible. We will not be staying at this hotel ever again. I wouldnt trust them with any of my personal belongings if they were to accidentally assign the room to someone else again.
