The parking is in the back. The inside is more outdoor seating with screened windows, doors, and fans. We were received with piping hot samples! Everything is homemade and top quality, hence the price. The meat is weighed. The only thing I would complain about is the bread that was served with my sandwich was extremely thick then once it soaked in with the meat juices, it crumpled apart. But other than that, can t wait to go back and try other menu items.

We received the warmest welcome at Lavaca BBQ as soon as we walked in. As first time customers, they offered us a sample platter of all their meats and mains super helpful in choosing what to get. Everything was delectable, scratch-made in house, and the folks here are so passionate about what they do. Exceeded expectations and can t wait to return.

Stopped in looking for good local BBQ and was not disappointed! Extremely friendly and helpful staff who helped explain the menu and brought samples of their staples. I ordered the brisket, pork belly and Serrano and cheese sausage, all of it is top notch and the sausage is amazing probably the best I have tried! I was also super surprised that I was offered a discount for attending church. I was taken back by the question but only because I didnt know if he meant locally. I am from Fort Worth and am in Victoria for work, I serve at my local church in downtown FW so I was proud to accept my discount . Thank you Lavaca BBQ!

We popped in on the way in from the coast and were treated like family. They obviously care a lot about good food AND good service. Everything was yummy- including the desserts. They have a delicious brisket, pulled pork, and sloppy joes. Tons of sides and meat options. We were really impressed! Kid-friendliness: Food is kid-friendly, not too spicy. Laid back atmosphere and extremely kind staff.

Stopped here for lunch on a hot June Sunday. K explained the menu and served us some yummy samples. I ve never had salmon at a Texas BBQ joint. Everything was really good. Next time I may get a Frito pie or a sloppy joe sandwich. Or brisket tamales . There s no a/c in the dining room, but the fans make it comfortable.

Drove to Victoria from Austin so my SO can walk down memory lane in his hometown. It s our anniversary so our anniversary tradition is going out for BBQ. LaVaca did not disappoint. When we walked in this lovely young man greeted us and asked if we ve ever been there before. It was our first time. He explained how they operate and the menu board. He brought out some samples of meats and other items like sloppy Joe and chili. That alone earned a tip. We usually don t tip for places where we order at a window and self serve our own drinks. LaVaca was amazing. The food was amazing. If I could give more than 5 stars for each category, I would. Thank you so much for our wonderful experience. I will always recommend LaVaca to anyone passing through or asking about BBQ. And that Dino rib, that s only served on Saturdays is tooooooo die for. Most definitely worth $30/lb!! Hang on .the BBQ gumbo. I would have never thought to put bbq in gumbo, but this really works. There s a party in my belly and I appreciate it. Parking: Not sure about the other side of the building but ample front of building parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Most definitely accessible.

Great food, great service, perfect atmosphere! Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon, not busy (2pm), ordered a chopped brisket sandwich. Brisket was cooked to perfection. They didn t skimp on the size either, it was full! It didn t have any barbecue sauce, but it wasn t needed. It had a wonderful taste. Returned today, Sunday, to pick up an order to bring home - brisket, ribs, green beans & potato salad, also included a couple sauces, regular & Texas gold, enhancing the wonderful flavor of the meats. Delicioso! Best part is that I ordered plenty, 1/2 lb of each meat & pint size sides, so leftovers for tomorrow & maybe even next

First off, everyone here were so friendly. They pampered me with samples, it was fantastic. I got The Duke brisket sandwich and although the brisket was great the bread was cut too thick which made it difficult to appreciate the brisket. Also got a side of jalapeno cream corn and it was great, not as jalapeno a I expected. Definitely coming back here next time Im in town.

Best BBQ in South Texas. I love the chopped BBQ beef sandwich. High quality and lots of meat. All the BBQ is first class and extremely well prepared. Dyno beef ribs are excellent. The ribs are above and beyond. This BBQ will spoil you and make all other BBQs seem not up to their standard. Parking: Enough parking for the restaurant Kid-friendliness: Receptive to kids Wheelchair accessibility: Not very good. The parking lot is probably not accessible for a traveling wheelchair.

The pork ribs were awesome, the brisket was spot on, the pollo Verde tamale was worth EVERY penny. None of the meats were dry and everything i had was very flavorful. The creamed corn tasted like it had a Verde sauce in it and it was a great pairing. The food here is well worth the price and can compete with any bbq restaurant in Houston or Austin. The restaurant its self is clean and well kept. The customer service was the best Ive ever recieved from any restaurant Ive been to. Like every quality bbq restaurant Ive been to it is not a cheap meal but in my opinion it is absolutely worth it and compared to places in Houston and Austin it is cheaper.

My experience at La Vaca was like no other. The hospitality above all was world class. The brisket was cooked and rendered to perfection, big red ribs were glazed just right, with a perfect bite. Pork belly was not fatty and simply seasoned to allow you to enjoy the pork. Pulled pork was moist, shredded perfectly, there was no nasty fatty connective tissue mixed with it, which tells me it s carefully shredded or trimmed. All the proteins are served sauceless, naked with nothing to hide. The Serrano cheddar sausage is crisp and lean, not greasy at all. I loved it. The bbq gumbo is a must try, the tamale was Smokey and filled with moist chicken guisado. Jalepeno cream corn, house sliced bread, and macaroni were all made from scratch and deserve a seat at the table with the perfect proteins. Lastly our deserts Cookie Monster , banana pudding, and smoked cheese cake are also made from scratch and could easily pass as a desert from a world class bakery. Overall my family and I felt at home and I d recommend La Vaca to any enthusiast of bbq. We will be back !!

Our first time here was awesome. Got a full rundown of the menu from one of the owners who was very friendly and welcoming. They were out of a few things but we did show up late on Sunday so thats to be expected. Wife had a Cuban pork sandwich and bbq gumbo which she loved. I had a two meat plate, brisket and sausage with potato salad and brisket beans. I was also very happy with my food. All that with a drink for just over 40 dollars. I dont really understand how people think that the prices are out of line for what youre getting. The brisket is definitely prime, probably creekstone, and is awesome. Great smoke flavor lets you taste the meat as the star. A lunch like that a few hours north would run easily 50% higher. Overall we were very happy and will be back for sure to try the things we missed out on this time.

I go specifically for the spare ribs. Im a meat guy so I dont really eat sides, maybe a can of peaches I keep at home, like in the old smoke houses. The spare ribs are excellent. You can tell that the pit master knows what they are doing. I cannot comment on the other meats/side but must assume, based on the ribs, that they are good. For those complaining about prices, have you priced a rack of dressed ST Louis style ribs lately at the supermarket? Factor in the wood, coal, sauce, etc. and these are a deal. I frequent LaVaca BBQ at least twice a month for the ribs, and I am absolutely satisfied with this well-crafted product. Thanks LaVaca BBQ for bringing some good ribs to Victoria! From the potato salad, to the mac n cheese, and the cornbread, everything was exceptional. Next time we will have to save room for the awesome looking desserts. SUPER DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PLACE. Wanted to give a Hispanic owned business a try. This is what $15 will get you. 2 slices of brisket. I paid $25 all together for this and 2 sides. Mind you it looks wonderful, and I thought to myself the prices were a little steep when ordering online especially compared to mumphords prices, but I told myself I m sure they are big portions. NOPE. 1/2 pound of brisket apparently. I will stick to Mumphords where you can get a 2 meat plate PLUS sides for $12, and the quality is great. Never again Lavaca BBQ

Update: On my visit today, the cashier recognized who I was and let me know that they are making changes to ensure that the burgers are better (read my previous review)! Awesome! Im glad that they try to do better and strive for perfection. Thanks Lavaca BBQ! 3.3.23: Ive been to Lavaca BBQ a few times now and I have already been greeted right away. Nice family that runs this business. Very good BBQ, and definitely different from other local joints. Ive had a smattering of items off their menu and they are all good. Moist brisket and turkey, delicious ribs, the sides are excellent. Today I tried their Big Cheese burger and it was good. Nice smoke on it the bacon and cheese topper was nice. Unfortunately their burger wasnt hot enough to melt the cheese and I think thats because they dont put some heat on the burger right before they serve it. Fries came with the burger and they were crunchy, but again not fried to order; so they werent hot. Another thing, is that rather take your order and have a separate pickup window or bring it to your table they have you wait in line, and that backs up the line. I think this is just a sign of not having been in the food business for all that long. But, that being said, they are very nice and the food is good. A few missteps, but nothing that cant be fixed.
