KBs was a favorite of mine, but this visit left a lot to be desired. It took an hour to get 2 sandwiches, the brisket was very salty and very burnt, the sausage was not the same as before and salty and the sweet tea ran out at 12:20. Lunch had not even started perse. I remember when they would park under the loop bridge on 236. No one could beat their brisket and sausage sandwiches. What happened? Maybe it was just a bad day.

The most disappointing BBQ experience Ive had in Victoria, TX. I want to preface this review with a compliment to the working staff; they were very kind and enthusiastic about their fare, and it made me excited to sample their foods. Thats a really good thing. The atmosphere is also interesting, its an open-ended country-style eatery with plenty of outdoor seating in an intriguing horseshoe formation. Looking in from the outside (and on a rainy day) I was a little concerned about my well-being but once I walked in, I felt the places charm and loosened up. This is a rather unique looking restaurant, a tourist attraction in its own right and Im sure its fun to take your family here. Lets get down business. The food. I ordered a two meat plate with two sides; brisket, spareribs, macaroni & cheese, and pinto beans. I didnt understand the steep price point of $22 until I saw how packed with meat my to-go box was. You can easily feed two adults with that much meat! Another really good thing. So how was it? The Macaroni & Cheese was okay. It barely had any real flavor, I just found myself thinking about how boring and uninspired it was. If youre not giving me a burst of cheesy flavor, then please season it with something or give it a panko crust or... Make it do a handstand, I dont know. I feel like this is what they serve inmates. Yes, this macaroni and cheese made me feel incarcerated. The Spareribs, please spare yourself the pain, and Im not ribbing you when I say that they were dull and flavorless. You get that smoky charred taste, but theres nothing else going for it. Its a shame cause they look absolutely delicious. You can tell from the pictures Ive shared, they look like theyre begging for you to eat them. What a shame. The Brisket, thick and chewy, it was just a chore to eat. Equally flavorless. Swimming in a pool of barbecue sauce that somehow manages to insult the briskets feelings instead of working in harmony with it. It just wasnt very good, I didnt even want to finish it. The under-side was so slick and burnt, it looked like a brisket sushi. The Pinto Beans were actually quite good! My favorite part of the meal. Lovely flavors! Its not every day you go to a barbecue place and blatantly dislike every type of meat on your plate, but that was my experience here. Im not even picky, I like everything, and I usually eat everything. But when your mac & cheese is bland, and your star proteins are dull, flavorless, and chewy . . . when three out of the four items on your plate are unremarkable, what else is there to enjoy? What else can form the foundation of your star rating? What value is there? $22 is a steep price for a plate of food you dont like, but it becomes a bargain when the food is overwhelmingly delicious. I think this place still needs to figure out barbecue.

For the overall BBQ experience in the Victoria area, this place is the best due to the addition of atmosphere and live music option. The BBQ is great, the sides are homemade and amazing. Ok this is a really traditional Texas BBQ joint. Place your order at the counter and then take it back when its ready. Its got oodles of atmosphere, especially if you go on a night they have music. It is a more than a little loud though (if the owners are reading this spring for a sound board and someone who knows how to use it). Anyway, the pork and the ribs were awesome! Tender, flavorful and a joy to eat. The brand were too. I had some of my wifes marinated mushrooms and those were delicious too. I will go back next time Im in Victoria. Vegetarian options: Dont expect much its a BBQ place.

Gave me a broken buzzer to pickup up my food and when I came to check on it the girl working the pickup window gave me a massive attitude telling me its been sitting there forever and they tried to have the band call out for it and started berating me for not coming up to get the food. She could have easily just been nicer about the broken buzzer and miscommunication, instead of belittling me and treating me like it was my fault Customer service would get a 0 if I could give it. Dont even want the food now. Dont care if its good or not. Avoid this place.

It was ok, and I would return, but the brisket wasnt that great. I give the brisket 1 star as it had the consistency and flavor of mushy roast beef, my friends was very hard fatty and tough. The sausage was 4 stars, great flavor. The country ribs were 4 stars and some of the best I had. The jalapeño mashed potatoes were unique and the best 5 stars. The marinated mushrooms were amazing, great tang, 4 stars. The ambiance was great, the music was great, and I give this 5 stars. I will return, but I will not be getting brisket when I make it better at home.

There was a large group of us with a lot of kids running wild. It didn t take too long to get our food. If this review was based just on my order it would have been lower because the beef ribs were terrible! They were way too salty and tough. The new potatoes and Mexican hominy were great sides. I simply ordered poorly. My friends and family all liked their choices. Everyone loved the pulled pork and the stuffed avocado. My friend liked her smoked meatloaf. My son loves his baby back ribs. We shared a bacon wrapped boudin that was good as well. We enjoyed lice music and space for her kids to run wild and play. It s BYOB so remember to bring your favorite adult beverage if your so inclined. All in all it was a success.

If you like watered down vinegar base BBQ sauce and want to pay $50 for two to eat you ll probably enjoy the atmosphere. We went this past Saturday their sign and website say they own at 5pm. We arrived at 4:50 because every time we drove by the place was packed. The lady in the food truck took our order then came to our table and informed us the owner who cooks the steak won t arrive until 5:30 and asked if we still wanted the steak. My husband did. We didn t get our food until 6:15. If you open at 5 the cook should be there before opening. They have awards up saying they are America s best BBQ and everyone keeps saying you have to go. It does have a great set up and atmosphere. It s all outdoor seating so if there s not a breeze it s going to be HOT. They had live music setting up around 6, but we left before they started playing. They are pet friendly which is nice but the neighborhood stray dogs were walking under our table begging. My husband got a steak that was $26 and said I make better steak. It was tender but had little flavor and not a sear mark on it. I got the four meat plate and got dark meat chicken, brisket, sausage and something else? We both had jalapeño potatoes which I thought were too hot and didn t eat more than 2 bites. I had the pineapple broccoli which would have been better if the broccoli was cooked then chilled, just too crunchy. There BBQ sauce is a vinegar base, thin mop style sauce. I prefer a molasses or brown sugar base that s thick. Maybe I just don t like their style of BBQ but it felt as though they d gotten lazy since their award years? The sauce was too thin, vinegar flavor was strong and had no spice. I can say that the meat was cooked well though, very tender. Our total was $48 for 2 plates a canned soda and a sweet tea. I seriously could have made better on my backyard grill with some lawry s on the steak. Based on the flavor of the BBQ I will never go back. I did like that they are BYOB. They didn t sell any alcohol probably because it s a food truck and they don t have a dealers license. God bless y all!
