Me and my friend eats at Saltgrass every chance we get, so we walk in the restaurant, and we are told that we have 10 minutes to wait for a table. So we wait, in this wait no one leaves the restaurant. Then she says your table is ready, when we get to our table we notice only about three tables in use. So we look at each other and ask why we half to wait, since all these tables were available. So they seat us at the smallest two person table in the restaurant. And were 6.2 and 250 pounds each, so we ordered our steak, with a salad. The drink and salad took 15 minutes to reach the table, then our steak arrived, it was small,cold, and grisly. Not what you would expect from an upscale steak house.

Bread was like hockey pucks, wedge salad barly had dressing on it, baked potatoe was cold, butter on steak when ordered was told no steak butter and it was overcooked. Won t be back to this location!!!

Well you know its extremely overpriced for the quality of food and for just the food in general very dead very dark its not the saltgrass that I remember back in the day for sure service was not terrible wanting great like over the top but it wasnt terrible food on the other hand was extremely disappointing especially for the price sizing of portions and they dont have real butter it is a mixture butter which is definitely not cool Dietary restrictions: Definitely not good about dietary restrictions because like most places use lots of overly processed oils instead of real fats

I had a great experience. From the moment that we walked in, the staff was attentive and welcoming. Our server KJ was very kind. The meat was prepared correctly. Our sides were delicious. The restrooms are clean. Looking for a location to bring a group to enjoy a meal, this location succeeds.

I have to say, the BEST part of our experience was the waitress! Jasmine was outstanding!! She had such a great attitude and served us perfectly... I honestly cant think of how she could be better, she scored a 10 in my opinion. The food was good, served hot and cooked exactly as ordered. I believe Saltgrass has really improved over the last year. It was a very enjoyable experience!

This afternoon we enjoyed a doctoral celebration dinner at Saltgrass Steak House in Tyler, the food, service, and atmosphere was wonderful. We had a large party so I know you have to have patience. They took forever to take our order and then my steak was not cooked right. I ve been going to Saltgrass for years and they have never cooked my steak wrong. Of course, I haven t been going to Tyler. It took 20 minutes to get our check and pay so we could leave. It was really a bad experience and a lot of money was spent.

Dont order online. I ordered 30-40 mins ahead of time and proceed to wait another 30 mins inside could be longer. Then forced to leave a tip for service that I didnt receive. Seen 3-4 people come in after me same problem but they got their food. Then was told oh theyre boxing it up for you wait another 10 min. Finally got my food everything was hot except for the steak.

Chris service was great at the bar. Ordered a T-bone medium-rare and it came out medium on the filet side, but medium-well on the strip side. Also, the strip side had more gristle than a ribeye would have. Maybe rethink ordering the T-bone because the cooks (definitely not chefs back there) dont have it figured out just yet, which is disappointing being at a steakhouse. No complaints on the baked sweet potato and smoked mac and cheese though.

Took the wife for lunch was not expecting the fast service we got as we arrived just as they opened the quest dip with brisket and chips was very tasty to say the least the salads were basic but good the endless bread and butter my wife loved now Here is my only criticism or maybe just a warning make sure when ordering steaks you ask for exactly what you want because unlike other places they cook it exactly how it was asked its really not a dig more of unexpected, the atmosphere was amazing the menus have a origin story of salt grass and all the decorations are the same

Visiting Tyler for a Womens Conference and was in the mood for steak. This Saltgrass did not disappoint. Ordered a sirloin and shrimp combo. Asked for it to be medium and it was cooked to perfection. I was there during Happy Hour but did not want to sit in the bar. The manager accommodated my request for a Happy Hour drink at my table. What made this visit over the top outstanding was my server, Ian. He was wonderful. He was very attentive without hovering. When asked some questions relative to Happy Hour specials, he apologized for not knowing, explained that he had only been in his position for one month and immediately sent a manager to explain everything. I didnt have to wait more than 5 mins for anything I needed. My food arrived to the table hot from the kitchen. Nothing is better than that! Whenever Im in Tyler, Tx Im coming here for dinner and asking to sit in Ians section. Kudos Tyler Saltgrass. Thank you for a wonderful evening out. Parking: Open all around the building.

The only downside to our visit to this restaurant was that upon arrival we were not greeted very courteously. Real outstanding steakhouse here in Tyler, Texas . Walked in around 1:00, was promptly greeted by Tristan as we walked in and he even seated us in a cozy two person booth. Really nice Texas decor steakhouse, with classic Southern Rock playing in the background, Tristan promptly brought our drinks and we ordered some rattlers . Love the jalapeño pepper and shrimp combination. Will be back for them again with friends, lol! My wife had a perfect steak salad and their own version of honey mustard dressing that my wife loved . My brisket burger was delicious but unable to finish, lol! Their sweet potato fries are the best in my opinion, with some ranch, lol! We were both so stuffed and passed on desert this time. Although their cheesecake looked so very appealing, maybe next time we ll bring a slice home, Aye! We enjoyed our lunch so very much and look forward to returning again soon for dinner. we came here to give it another chance after multiple trips with bad service so i was disappointed once again. Worst meal i ve had in tyler in a while. We waited 30 minutes for our server no one said anything our food took forever yes they had a big party but all of there attention was to them we waited over an hour for our food for it to come out cooked wrong and flavorless and the salads were disgusting I wasn t expecting like a 5 star salad but this salad made me gag the lettuce was wilted there was too much dressing and it was just gross and when the service gave us the check he asked if we want boxes and everything but never asked if things tasted ok or if something was wrong when out plates were full of food the bread and the drinks were the best thing and it took 30 minutes to get those will not be coming back

This was the worst saltgrass I have ever been to. I ve been to multiple saltgrass all over and have never had a bad experience until now. The service was terrible, we had to wait for fresh bread that came to the table cold. We got our salads almost the same time as our food. When the food arrived we were still eating the salads and everyone throughout the whole dining experience tried to take the salads before done. Me and my mom order the pats 12 oz ribeye, and hers wasn t even comparable to a 10oz. My boyfriend ordered the 9oz filet medium rare and it came out extremely undercooked and very dry. My dad ordered the wagyu and it was also very dry. Our waitress was no where to be found so we had to ask someone to go get the manager. The manager did get my boyfriend a new steak and reduce my mom s steak to the price of a 10oz and agreed that it was very thin. When ready to leave the waitress was to go get the ticket, DIDN T and stood behind the fire place with other employees talking. She managed to make it back to the table to ask us again if we were ready for the check. By this time we had gotten the manager to get the check. Just all around a bad experience and will NOT be returning. NOT worth the money.

Worst Saltgrass Ive been to. 3 out of the 4 steaks at the table were dry and none of them were worth the money (texture or taste). One of the steaks was a wagyu steak for $50 and it tasted like $20. Shrimp, mashed potatoes, and brockley with cheese was good. Brussel sprouts were not good. Service was all over the place and the manager wasnt managing very well. Staff and manager seemed more like a buddy buddy system than a professional restaurant. This Saltgrass does not live up to its name.

My husband took us here for our 1st year anniversary. We went there about 4 pm, so it was slow. That was to our advantage though, because our waiter was able to take really good care of us. Our first disappointment was the dirty silverware. Next was the wine that was warm, that might be the way they serve it, but we prefer ours chilled. (Maybe we should have told the waiter that.) I am trying to make this short, but I asked for my steak medium well, and it was really red, but very tough. I should have maybe sent it back, but I gave it to my husband, who agreed that it was tough. I can say that the fried asparagus was delicious, and a generous portion. I was disappointed with the meal, especially when only bread, no salad, two items on the plates, and two glasses of wine cost $86.00. Were on a budget, so to me, it wasnt worth going there. I wish that I had taken pictures. Best wait-staff, very helpful and friendly! Parking: Great location, with only a small parking area. Wheelchair accessibility: Several handicap parking spaces, which might account for not a lot of regular parking. It also has a wheelchair ramp. I had plenty of space at the table for my Rollator.

Came for lunch on a Saturday, the restaurant was not very busy. We ordered drinks and food. The drinks took over 10 minutes for us to get. Our soup and salad was good, the steak was good but very fatty. The Mac and cheese was very dry and the sautéed onions and mushrooms we added to our steaks were the worst I ve ever had. It was burnt and the seasonings were terrible. Our waitress only had the one table and she was impossible to find. We ordered a Bloody Mary and a very long black hair was in the drink. Our waitress went to the back and didn t come back out for a full 20 minutes. After she finally came to check on us, we told her about the hair in the drink and she just took the drink away and did not offer any sort of an apology. She did get the manager involved to have the drink removed from our ticket. The receipt said the drink was removed due to customer did not like drink . We didn t even drink any of the bloody Mary due to the long hair in it. The manager never came to our table and our waitress never apologized or acknowledged the long hair in the drink. This was a very disappointing experience. Our waitress was not attentive and the drinks took a ridiculously long time to get. We only ordered one mixed drink, a Bloody Mary, beer in a bottle and water. After the hair in the bloody Mary, we decided not to order anything else from the bar and requested water. I was very surprised by how long it took just to get water. We would be without a drink for over 10 minutes at a time. We will not be visiting this location again. Very disappointed in Staff and management. I attempted to provide feedback through the saltgrass website and the website doesn t allow me to choose a location so I was unable to complete the form.

My husband and I dont get to go out by ourselves often as we have an adult child with special needs. As she is visiting family out of town, we treated ourselves to a day date. After our movie we chose Saltgrass for our late lunch/early supper meal. (we had gift cards) Our waiter, Chris, was exceptional! He was personable and professional. Absolutely the worst dining experience in Tyler. We were told that the tortilla soup is now seasonal, there were no baked potatoes, we settled for the potato soup which was cold but the worst of all was the steak. I ordered the 12 oz Pats Rib Eye and my wife ordered the 10 oz Pats Rib Eye both cooked Med . When the steaks arrived they were as thin as jerky and just as tough. However, on a positive note our server Roman was awesome and even offered us free desert which we declined. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone I like but would be perfect for the people I don t like.

SALTGRASS IS A FANTASTIC SPOT! I don t think I ve had a single meal there that I didn t like and I ve been there 7 or 8 times in the past month. The happy hour deals are amazing, the staff are incredibly kind and thoughtful, and the bar manager (cute girl with dark brown hair) is phenomenal. While we had a large party, i understand the wait time however, with that being said, we were sat down, the waiter we had was asked by another staff member if he needed help and he said no, i got it. We got our drinks 40 minutes later. Appetizers came out after drinks. Everyone got their salad after that. Then about an hour and a half of being there we finally got our food. 5 steaks were cooked wrong. Chicken fried steak was incorrectly cooked how we asked. I don t understand how a steak house gets that many steaks cooked wrong. They did take our appetizers off, but after being there for 2.5 hours- i was very annoyed and would never go back. Hopefully they do some additional training to correct this going forward.

Food was very mediocre, steak was not cooked to the way it was requested very bloody inside and as chewy as rawhide. A1 made it taste a little better... Also had the brisket queso and chips appetizer, the brisket was some what of a stringy gelatinous glob and had no resemblance of brisket what so ever. Queso flavor was awesome.... It was busy and service was lacking at times but given the crowd on a Friday evening it was too be expected. Overall experience: we would not be returning. When you pay good money for food, you expect that to be to notch, and that factor alone truly wasn t up to our standards by any means and missed the mark.

Been here once before today. This has be the worst resturants in Tyler. Overpriced, nasty food. I will never go in that place again. Its beyond horrible. Today it took forever to get seated, with the resturant farily empty. It took an hour to get our food, and mine was burnt, and the portion was extremely small. Im done with this resturant forever. Do yourself a favor and just go to Taco Bell and eat. At least you know how bad the food is at Taco Bell before you order.

We were seated promptly, and the server was as prompt as one can expect at any decent steakhouse The problems lie with the food. -Asparagus was not just crunchy but undercooked/the bottom 1/3rd was inedible and fibrous while simultaneously being overspiced -Steaks that were requested to be Medium Rare were Well Done -the Steak that was requested Bloody Rare was Medium Well and again all of them were overseasoned/had a crust of their house blend that gave a gritty texture to the already cardboard textured meat. -The Broccoli was obviously frozen before hand and was the strangest kind of warm-yet raw texture that I have ever tried And all for the low low price of $120 then tip.
