The food is always good. I get the same thing Super Quesadilla loaded and a side of rice. My only pet peeve that I will bring to your attention is as I was waiting on order to go I was watching in the food prep area. No one should be eating around food prep area. I saw this. Use good judgement. Go out to dining room.

Solid Mexican food here in Tyler. A little on the greasier side, but the flavors are fantastic. Lunch rush can be a bit slow sometimes, but I always call ahead now and never have any issues. They have great food and fantastic salsa (if you like spicy). Ive been going here for over a year regularly and would definitely recommend it!

The food is awesome, has great flavor but the ingredients on my super quesadilla were just all placed in the center of it, spread it out a little bit. My biggest turn off about the restaurant is the order and pick up situation and theirs no order to which way the line goes when they are busy people just come in and pile up. I wont stop eating the food Ill just use another location

The food is amazing! I get the #7 with ham and its better than anything you could get at a fancy TexMex restaurant. If you like spicy foods, the Enchiladas are very good as well. The hot sauce is very fresh & spicy. Also, their green sauce is the best Ive ever eaten.

Had the super quesadilla which was very good, loaded with plenty of meat. The only thumbs down...the floor was dirty. No lights on, just plenty of daylight coming through..noonish. Oh, NO CHARRO beans! South Tx taquerias always had charro beans. Meat was a tad bit salty, but tasted good.

The super Taco Jr, super Taco, beef are mouth watering and 4 is ooooso good. Was given chicken due too being nosey about the way they season there meat. And found out they had chicken too. Lol...it was great. They treat me with Love everytime. chips fresh, salsa is un speakable, the Verde is great and just the way I prepare mine but my teacher for street tacos are in Marshall, Texas at the time Harris potteries when we worked together. American bakeware order online. Also make sure you tip the kiddos, at Taqueria El Lugar!!

Price has gone up but the quality has gone down. The food is almost always hot which is great. The negatives are that you might not get everything on your taco you were supposed to, the seats are almost always dirty, and the parking is terrible. There are spots up front that are always filled with the employees so you have to find a spot elsewhere. The area gets filled up fast and, because this is Tyler and parking was never learned by anyone in this town, you will most likely get blocked in or very close to it where you have to inch your way out of the spot. The line was out the door the other day and that shows you that the food is good but it WAS way better and I just no longer get the taste I did when I first started going there. Parking: Parking is awful.

Ive lived nearby to this location for 3 years. They have continued to update and upgrade the restaurant and have made it a very welcoming and family atmosphere. During the snowstorm of 2021 they remained open, cooking on their gas grill and taking payments of cash. What a great place!

Absolutely love this place. Ive lived in New Mexico, Arizona, Southern California and El Lugar really hits alot of my previous home towns flavor profiles. Its definitely not Tex Mex and more of an authentic Mexican comfort food heaven. Their red and green sauce is yummy and not for sissies but the salsa is more of a mild medium so even the sissies can enjoy. Vegetarian options: There are meatless options. Parking: Theres more parking in the dirt to the side if not directly in front. Kid-friendliness: Definitely fine to bring screaming toddlers. Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking directly in front and wide enought double doors upon entrance.

One of my all time favorite go tos! A simple menu. Most excellent service and family owned. I usually can eat a good sized portion of food, but three of their Tacos is a full meal! Just moved here from Tucson, AZ. I was looking for great Mexican food, and Taqueria El Lugar was recommended. I had the super quesadilla. It was loaded with beef, avocado, tomatoes, and jalapeños wrapped in a freshly made flour tortilla. Overall it was good but a little salty with too much grizzle and fat that made it hard to chew. The outside of the store looks pretty rough, but the inside very nice and clean. The servers were very helpful and kind. And the music was great!!! I ll definitely be coming back.
