About the Company

rating: 4.1

Caribbean Food at its best. They say that the way to a person’s heart is through their stomach, so based on this, traditional food from the Dominican Republic will make anyone fall madly in love with this Caribbean nation. A combination of recipes and ingredients of native Tainos, Spanish conquistadors and African slaves, seasoned with flavors from around the world, Dominican cuisine reflects the country’s rich history, culture, traditions and identity. We serve Dominican food, but we also highlight the importance of traditional recipes as an essential part of the nation’s culture. In other words, every dish has a bit of soul of this amazing culture

If I could give Carribbean Kitchen a no star I would. My wife and I were very disappointed with the rude owner and the subpar food. We were gussied up and were enjoying a wonderful date night, until.....We ordered the Jerk Chicken with Red Beans and Rice, and cheesecake for desert. The food was lukewarm and the cheesecake tasted like something you get out of the freezer from Wal-Mart. We have eaten at many Caribbean establishments and this is not authentic carribbean cuisine. We mentioned our dissatisfaction to the waitress only to be met with the angry chatter of the owner from the kitchen. The owner chose to send the waitress to convey her rudeness. We could literally see the interactions.of the waitress and the owner from the kitchen..lol..The parking lot is empty for a reason. Eat here at your own risk!!

Late post: Tried this place out for the first time Juneteenth weekend, so most people were probably barbecuing. So we had the place pretty much to ourselves. We tried the oxtails and rice, fried pies(chicken, beef, & pork), and their specialty lemonade. At first i didn t think it would be enough food but i was definitely wrong. And it was ALL delicious. The place was clean and the atmosphere was cool! The staff was all nice and cool, they actually had a family member feel to them. I m definitely going back to try out that chicken spaghetti.

Attended an R&B brunch here and had such a great time! The food was AMAZING... I went on and on about how light but crispy the chicken was and how yummy the maple butter for the pancakes was. The temperature of the food even after sitting while I sang and mingled with others around me was piping hot! The owner was in the kitchen, on the floor, AND in the bar at different times just making sure everyone was happy and things were running smoothly. I was very impressed with her. She never seemed overwhelmed and genuinely acted like she appreciated each individual patronizing her business. I will be back and will sing this restaurants praises over and over again just for that alone! It was SO refreshing to walk into a business and the service be that incredible AND the food, drinks, and entertainment just blow you away. This was a birthday celebration for my best friend and I and we both had so much fun and enjoyed the food and drinks so much.

Tried it for the first time. Weve scratched it from our list. My wife and I ordered a couple different chicken dishes. They each came with a bowl of stewed bone-in chicken pieces in seasoned broth. Neither really impressed us. My wife didnt end up eating most of hers. The rice sides were stuck together, not fluffy at all. The salad was simple iceberg lettuce with a few bits of tomato and onion slices. Dressing choice was limited to 3 varieties. One other table was occupied during what is normally peak dining time. We failed to heed that sign and were disappointed.

All the meat was tender and seasoned to perfection! The rice was on point! And the plantains are to die for! AND THE RUM CAKE MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH!!!! This restaurant is a 20/20! The food was super good! Flavor was spot on! My husband had the steak sandwich and loved it. I had the fried chicken chunks with red rice and beans, and sweet plantains. The chicken and plantains were amazing! The rice was cold like it had been sitting at room temp, but the flavor was great! Now for tye reason they are only getting 3 stars. The service. Our waitress was very slow in coming to our table to get orders, we never received refills on our waters, and she had to be reminded several times that we had asked for a to-go box. In the hour and a half that we were in the restaurant she only came to our table perhaps once to check on our food but did not check our drinks. If the service improves I will be more than happy to continue to patronize this business and update my review.

The red beans & rice was flavored with a house sofrito. The closest flavor that came to mind was not orange zest.. The res guisada had chunks of beef, like the Texas Chili Parlor in Austin Strips of red and yellow bell pepper and a touch of carrot rounded out the dish, and all was swimming in the drippings and juice from the meat. Then a house banana desert, whipped, creamy, and airy. A wonderful experience!

I came here with some optimism and was excited to try some of their tempting sounding food and friendly atmosphere, so imagine my disappointment when I entered to an empty restaurant, loud and obnoxious music, flat Pepsi (replaced with a flat coke in a can), and a stew filled to the brim with bones that had a side of undercooked rice. The food smelled putrid, the ingredients were dirt cheap(the chicken almost seemed like three day old rotisserie chicken), and the only redeemable part was the staff, that is until I tried to talk about the bones in the stew and was shut down and abandoned for the remainder of my stay. That isn t even talking about all of that costing 16$, which is more expensive than most of the restaurants on the same road, which is absolutely outrageous for such a horrid meal. One of the worst dinning experiences I ve had to date, and will never come back, and I would recommend people to stay away.

Hello, when I saw this restaurant advertising on the local news, I was excited. Finally, a restaurant with food from Puerto Rico and Santo Domingo. I went with the expectation of either its good or its not. Not my people who say its food from Mexico. But, it is not what I know as our Caribbean flavors. Friend, it was a pleasure to meet you, but, I am very honest. We didnt like the food, the prices of the drinks, friend, you went too far. A beer $7.00???, a drink $12.00???. With how much we like to eat well and drink. Our roots are full of flavors, colors, and joy. I ordered the chillo fried, not in sauce. It was tasteless, burned, the beans were tasteless, where is the cooking ham, potatoes, olives, pumpkin? Long grain rice? Mostly, we use medium granola. The stewed meat was soft, but nothing more. Give flavor to that food. The fish, that is not reheated, that has flavor, not burnt. Add flavor to your food. We want you to stay, and bring friends, and my family. Give life to the restaurant. Success!

Did you know they charge .50 for a teaspoon of ranch. And extra simple syrup in your alcoholic drink is considered a shot! Crazy! The chicken spaghetti was horrible and the salad was sad! And the music was so loud by the door you couldn t hear the hostess! My husband did like his chicken stew!

Authentic and delicious! We shared the pork guisado and an order of tostones and everything was delicious and we had plenty. The place is cute with classic island music (not too loud not too soft) and the staff was so friendly and inviting. you really should give them a try and be transported to the Caribbean!!

We also really love the family that owns the place ... they are so friendly and just sweet people. We took our family and friends for our after wedding dinner and I was not disappointed at all and everyone we brought loved it! My mom ordered the Dominican lasagna and holy moly was that thing bomb af! I wish I had ordered it! If youre wanting to try it out and dont know what to order you could start there but like I said earlier everything weve gotten so far was amazing so you really cant go wrong with anything!

I wish I cn give them no star. Worst fake a** restaurant ever m. They need to be shut down. I order food from them today and couple days ago on DoorDash. Instead of not accepting my payment. They made me think my order is getting made. Turns out the dam closed. DONT ACCEPT AN ORDER WHEN YOU CLOSED. That s stealing. Now I have to wait 3-5 business for my money back. And I wasted an DoorDash driver time. Like come on.

Placed a Doordash order for 4 people, an hour and half before they were supposed to have closed. Doordasher arrived to pickup the food, and waited for the order, just so the store could cancel the order. When i called to find out why the store had canceled my order, they rudely informed me they were closed. The time now is still 30 minutes before closing time. There was also a rude banshee sounding of a woman, screaming in the backgound, We are out of everything. Not only did they waste my time, but my poor Doordash guys time, and fuel. Being military & a firefighter, food is my hobby, love to eat. I was really looking forward to trying your place...... Sad........

My wife and I had been looking forward to trying out the Caribbean Kitchen with expectations of upbeat Caribbean music, friendly pleasant wait staff, and a tempting menu. We were disappointed that no music at all was playing, poor service without even a smile, and limited selections for cafeteria grade food. It was overpriced. I hope they can get things turned around soon and provide a good experience for people.

I think 3 stars is being generous. This was my first time in this restaurant. I got food to go for myself and my husband. It was pretty pricey and I really wouldnt have mind that if the food had been of better quality. The flavors were okay, but I dont believe the food was fresh. My rice and peas were cold and my meat (on both orders) was lukewarm. I just feel like I paid 50 dollars for some grandmothers leftovers from the day before. The only thing that was actually prepared while I waited was the fried plantains. Maybe I should have read the reviews before going, at least that way, I would have been a little more prepared for what to expect.

Never had carribean cuisine that was supposed to be authentic. It was okay, I didnt read any reviews before I got there, but wanted to try something new and support local. I cant say I would come back, the food came out medium warmish?warming?? Wifes beans were cold. Waitress was strange, very nice, but kept whispering that she understood we were having a bad experience and talking about her injuries. There were some deserts when we walked in and she didnt know what they were. Apologized for the poor service and cold food, but no remedy. Sounds like its hit or miss. Wife had curry chicken, said it was okay, I had the Carne guisado. Flavor was okay, just not a knock your socks off gotta come back sorta deal for 40 bucks at lunch. I make some dang good Carne guisada, and thought maybe I need to open my own restaurant . Give it a shot, maybe its better in the evenings.

To be honest I come from Florida and I was so excited about trying this place. When we walked in there was another family walking in, and we didnt know if we should sit or wait to be seated. The waitress was like find a seat. We took our own seat, then she brought the menu. We had questions being it was our first time there. The young lady did not know her menu, she could not answer any question, the other girl comes over and says for stewed meat you will pay almost $15 if you want rice and beans as sides after 3pm you will be charged an additional $6. The price was outrageous but I was willing to pay. All of a sudden I see the other American family get up leave $5 on the table and leave. I should have left but still wanted to try the dominican food. Well when we ordered turns out everything we asked they were out of. The waitress was so unprofessional she even sat down at our table because she was tired. When I asked her what the guy was able to cook she asked him because he was out in the lobby since there were no customers, he seemed to not understand her. Omg!! I was so disappointed and got so upset i decided to just pay for the drinks ordered and leave. They kept apologizing saying they had nothing to offer. Just like that. No food. Why are they even opened?? Customer service, out the door. I ended up paying $6 for 3 drinks. The family that left were 6 and that guy was so mad he dropped only $5. The worst money spent. Honestly I would not go back. I dont recommend. Its sad because I was excited to finally eat Caribbean food. Nope

Overall experience was decent. Wait staff could do with better knowledge of the plates. I had Pork guisado. Portion was good. Guisado wasnt exactly what I was expecting but wasnt bad. My husband had the shrimp and rice soup. Large portion plenty of shrimp and was very good. We also tried the fried plantains. 2 different kinds. They were good lacked a good sauce to dip. It wasnt bad, I guess just different culture. They seem to have a full bar and lounge area. Will come go back one day.
