The food was worse than concession stand food. The service was mediocre at best, and the atmosphere was plain and dull. I definitely DO NOT recommend the quesadilla or the chips and salsa!

Boards and Bites is a great place to get a cup of latte or grab lunch. The staff is welcoming and hospitable. It is becoming a place to see your neighbor and where someone knows you. Keep up the good work. Parking: No problem in finding a place to park close to the cafe. Also if you live in the neighborhood you could walk. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy in and out with a wheelchair.

Last night our family went to Boards and Bites for the first time. First, game prices are so reasonable with kids. Second, the food is excellent! We had the Cuban, Turkey and Brie, and two smoothies. Third, the man working the counter was so kind and patient with us. He had wonderful customer service. I m not sure if he was the owner, but he treated the cafe like it was his personal business. Dietary restrictions: I m gluten/dairy free and they had gluten free bread and oat milk.

This place is dope! We take all of our out-of-town friends here, & it s always a blast. Every time we go, we end up staying for hours longer than we expected bc we re so tuned into the games & so tuned out from screens/the never-ending matrix that is our phones. The staff is super friendly & helpful. The coffee is smooth & delicious, & the food slaps (especially the Parcheesey). 10/10 - we ll be back.

Updating this review! Their menu has improved! Food wise it isnt my favorite but its okay and the coffee is great! The best thing about Boards and Bites is the atmosphere. Its a great place to work or hang out with friends and having board games available if you want to access them is always nice! I also appreciate that they are very accepting of people in the queer community. I am not part of that community myself but have many friends/family who are and I see how hard it often is for them in the South to find acceptance. Having such a place in Tyler is nice. One of my favorite hangout places in Tyler!

The variety of games was impressive, catering to all ages. The atmosphere was fantastic quiet and clean. It was my first visit, and the experience was truly awesome. The barista offered excellent recommendations, and overall, I highly recommend the experience. Parking was easily accessible as its located in a plaza.

Just a hang out for the kids that work there. Very unprofessional staff. They we re making free coffee s for their friends while carrying on a conversation across the restaurant. Very disrespectful to paying patrons. We hoped it would be a cozy place to enjoy a coffee and let my daughter get some studying done but no luck. Stay away unless you re invited by the kids working there.

The barista in the afternoon was absolutely delightful, but the little girl in the evening was extremely unprofessional and told us at 8:45 after we tried to order a couple of lattes verbatim, Ive already turned off the espresso machine and honestly, I dont get paid to be here past nine, so Im sorry. Possibly the worst work ethic Ive ever had to witness. We left great reviews, but have had to change them, if the owners think that this is acceptable, we wont be back. Sounds like some if the staff might need some training. 8:45 is not 8:55 or even 9pm. Kid-friendliness: Over 800 board games!!!

Delicious menu with plenty of options (Vegetarian-friendly as well)! Ive visited a few times, and this soup and sandwich combo rocked my world. I love the concept and I think its just what Tyler needs. My only major complaint is that the atmosphere isnt as cosy or eclectic as a game-cafe probably should be, the music is also very rigid (think hotel-music) so its not an atmosphere Id want to be in for a long time, but it does the trick. B&B, please start some public game nights-- BYOB, maybe, or consider selling some local beers? I would come every week if you did!

The Southwestern sandwich was very flavorful. It looks like a regular sandwich at first glance, but it is full of flavor; we recommend this sandwich. It was served with a side of hummas. Overall, the plate was filling for lunch. We also ordered the Santorini as an appetizer. The fresh sun dried tomatoes on the Santorini were refreshing. The cafe atmosphere reminds me of a place Catfish would record an episode while they do their research or have a sit down.

My husband and I s favorite date joint! It s so relaxing, the food is fairly priced and very delicious, and the workers are friendly and don t interrupt the atmosphere. It really reminds me of a textbook coffee shop that you go to relax and listen to some good music while you unwind. You don t have to pay the 5$ game fee if you want to bring your own games but they do offer a large variety of games from hungry hungry hippo to D&D campaigns. I definitely recommend, favorite place in Tyler!

We had our first visit to Boards and Bites on a Sunday afternoon. Someone needs to expand this place! There were no tables available, so more than one customer left without service, which was unfortunate. This is a place to linger and play board games with friends, so table turnover is not fast. Its a great concept, and every customer seemed to be having an enjoyable time. Thats the Boards. The Bites are delicious! Fresh and inspired sandwiches with better cheese choices than the average sandwich shop. The hummus was perfect with plentiful garlic. A range of coffee and tea choices, too. Boards and Bites is a simple concept done delightfully well. Seriously, this place needs more tables!

It was just me and my girlfriend there for three hours and we found plenty of 2 player games to entertain us. The place was fairly busy right up to close with groups of all sizes enjoying some games. The food was quite delicious and my staff experience had zero complaints. Definitely a hot spot for Tyler!

My husband and I have been camping and before we head back to Houston one of the things I wanted to do in Tyler was stop in at a coffee shop. Im a coffee shop lover and as one I can say this is one to visit. It instantly gave me a cozy, comfortable, vibe the moment I stepped in and that didnt change. Genuinely nice people greeted and spoke with us. The seating is comfortable, the drinks and cheesecake my husband and I got were tasty, the wifi works great, and if you feel up to gaming you can do that too. Plus theres a fairly large selection of food to choose from.

Awesome concept here pay five dollars to play boardgames which is from when you pay till closing, great drinks and delicious sandwiches. They also serve gluten free and vegetarian options as well as great salsa and hummus. Sometimes Ill go there just to pick up lunch its so good. Thursday evening is open game night where you get a discount for being open to having new people join your game. They also have a room for group activities.

This place is fantastic. Im in town for a few days and my daughter and I stopped in last night for some coffee and played three games. The staff were all very welcoming. Told us if we needed any game recommendations or rules explanations to let them know. We played 2 games we already knew pretty well. My daughter then picked out a game that I had never played and a staff member came over and gave us a super quick breakdown of how to play. We liked it so much that we went back tonight and will probably be back the next few nights as well! Highly recommend for an affordable way to spend a few quality hours.
