We had visited a couple weeks ago and had a great experience so we decided to come back today for Brunch. The Texans Game was playing so it was busy. There was a father and son ahead of us that got seated in a 4 person booth table. We were given the option to sit outside and that was fine but I asked the manager if someone left could we please move inside. He said sure of course. Bro never sent a waitress outside for us, which would have pleased us at least to get drinks going. I saw 5 people leave and my husband went inside for a restroom and he saw there was a high top available. We went back inside to ask about if we could sit there and the Manager said he only seated large parties on those during Texans Games. I had already wanted to order a Mimosa Carafe and Charcuterie Board. But if you have two kids that are 16 and 17 with you, it looks like you aren t going to spend money. Not the case. We order apps and full meals, have cocktails and tip well. I m saddened the manager would make a stupid decision like that. I had high hopes and yeah I m sure he s like, whatever. But it was rude he never sent a waitress out to at least take our drink order and simply went back to his little computer. Rude and the game was already on, who was he saving the table for? I had expected more. Your loss of at least $300. Good luck. I hope your new location has better management.

Later in the evening they go to a reduced menu so if you want the entire selection go earier. The spinach/kale/mushroom/garlic pizza was remarkably good. Ive been run down and tired so wanted iron but didnt think it would actually be so tasty. It was way better than the margarita pizza. Vegetarian options: Spinach mushroom garlic pizza.

Got the shrimp tacos and two hibiscus margs. The drinks were so yummy and not too sweet and the food was delicious Also SUPER GREEN FLAG I went to restroom while my drink was being made and the bartender covered my drink while I was away. Definitely coming back, the atmosphere was so chill and I enjoyed being there by myself!

Great neighbourhood spot! Staff is friendly, and I love that they offer vegan/ plantbased options. I usually sit at the bar, and they have always been attentive whether I was alone or with friends and neighbours. If youre looking for a spot that has good drinks and food, this is a great option!

Back in the office after several years, and this place has gone way down. Lettuce and tomatoes in the salad were rotten and uneatable. Burger was ok, but no veggies!?! Thats almost a $20 burger and they cant add lettuce and tomatoes to it. French fries were just frozen low quality fries. Huge disappointment. Will not be back.

The giant pretzel lived up to its name, and makes a great appetizer for 2-4 people! I had the Caesar salad with steak, and it was just the right size not too small, not too large to eat in a sitting. I say that because I find it s usually too little or way too much to eat at many places. The wait staff was quite attentive and friendly, and I find the atmosphere conducive to having a business meeting in a booth for 2-4 people, or a lunch/dinner for the same number. A couple of mosquitoes and flies buzzed around, but that may be unavoidable since there is just one pair of doors opening from the dining area to the parking lot.

The last two times Ive come to this establishment Ive left without getting anything! The first time I asked the server about an app she said she would come back but instead started cleaning a large tabletop. NOW Im sitting at the bar. The bartender sees me sitting there and just had to greet me but instead she comes behind the bar and starts cashing people out. Just rude and dismissive.

The food and drinks are amazing! It was a great little place for a date night and our bartender, Isabel took good care of us when we came. I m still thinking about the pizza and nachos that we had 5 days later! The parking is a bit tight but people where coming and going so luckily we found a parking spot.

Nice restaurant/bar... Service was attentive. Enjoyed their sliders or mini burgers as an appetizer. The pizza was just okay and the Barry Bonds drink disappointed. Watery as opposed to the full bodied fruity picture on the menu and it tasted meh... wine would have been a better choice. Always happy to try something new.

This is a sports bar and restaurant with better food than a typical sports bar. Make a reservation for a table so you wont stand around waiting for a table and avoid sitting near the front door or be OK with waves of heat and humidity each time the door is opened. The food is pretty good. I had salmon with quinoa and kale. The salmon is grilled and comes with a side of garlic butter. The giant pretzel is GIANT. That can be an entire meal so share it with someone.

We love this place and we come very often, however it takes one person to make it not wanting to come back. 1-20% tip already included in the tip. ( i don t mind the tip, we were going to give 25) it is the gesture. 2- 4 dls for an olive oil dressing for my salad 3- 35 times they ask us if we were done so we could leave the table. 4- tip included for the amount of people, we were 3 adults and 2 kids. ( 5 years old) 5- Wrong billing in cards. To conclude, great place.but i had a TERRIBLE experience today. Btw, i am a regular, and I am disappointed

Any time I have someone from out of town visiting, I bring them by On The Kirb. The food is all organic, so there s no way to go wrong here. Management always makes it a point to check on you to ensure everything is going well, and if there s any issue they accommodate immediately. I ve even been able to bring my nephew here on late nights (as a 1 year old), and it s never been a rowdy/fussy crowd. They also have one of the best happy hours in the city, and if you have a chance, you need to take advantage. And last, but not least, they have amazing mocktails. If you re looking for a bar to go to with yummy non-alcoholic beverages, go check it out.

Husband and I decided on a random night out and chose this place, our server was Clare and she was amazing. Great knowledge of all the food and drinks, made great recommendations and was so attentive. I had a chicken pizza with some modifications and it was so fresh and yummy. I have just left On The Kirb Midtown and was thoroughly disappointed. And the manager was irritated that we were dissatisfied. 1. Food I sent my pizza back because the crust was wet and despite stating no artichokes replace with arugula. I got artichokes and was charged for arugula. The second pizza we ordered chicken (expecting to pay for extra), but no chicken. When we alerted the manager there was no chicken on our pizza, he said, Did you ask for chicken? What???? Why would we look for chicken if we hadn t asked. We left of second pizza because it was not good. 2. Service We had to ask for water when no one approached our table. The server apologized, but we had to ask someone else before we finally received water. Everything was slow; though she was apologetic. The manager felt he had comped us enough when he removed charges that were added to our bill through their error. Also returning a wet pizza and having it removed from the bill was apparently the extent of their largesse; despite my disappointment in food and service. I said we would not return despite having visited multiple times previously. The manager s approach to our disappointment indicated our business will not be missed.

Place was incredible, management was incredible, I highly recommend coming in!! Go ask for Tori the waitress! She s so sweet. Tim the manager there was so accommodating. Amazing staff! Very tentative! The food and everything was so fresh and delicious. Although the fish in my fish tacos wasn t cooked to my liking the additions made up for it. Tim was quick to make things right regardless of me saying it s ok. Just amazing!! Worth every cent! Can t wait to come back!!

My son and I came here to watch a boxing fight. I figured going somewhere a bit classy would be ideal. I had called before to ask about minors. They said everything was fine and that this place was family friendly. We could not get a table close enough to watch the tv so we sat at the bar. Bar service asks for I.D s and as I m presenting mine they state that it s against the law to have a minor sit at the bar. I request the manager as this is not the case and instead of watching the event I m having to prepare to debate law with the bar staff. The guy next to me who happens to be a regular they called him by his name says it s not true my son can sit there and can even have a sip as long as he s with an adult. All in good humor. Manager comes and recalls the law comment but states that it s the establishment s rule. We were still allowed to stay since we had ordered our food, but it wasn t a great selling point for our first time.

Absolutely marvelous food always! It is so refreshing to be able to go and watch your favorite team. Play on the big screen TV while eating deliciously well prepared healthy food that is organic and grass fed beef! I highly recommend this place. So this is the second bad experience. Today I placed an order I arrived 5 mins earlier than what was given to me so my food would not be sitting there. I wanted my food somewhat hot to warm. As I was driving off I was tempted to grab a slice of pizza. I reached into the box and the pizza was cold. I checked the wings and also cold. Their estimated times for pick up are definitely off. Also when I walked inside I asked the female behind the bar where to pick up my order only to be told someone would help me shortly. A waitress came up and asked how she could help me. I notified her that I had placed an order to go and that it should be ready. She said she would check on it. This gentleman asked if he could help I told him that a waitress was looking into my order. I kept waiting he finally came back and asked for my name and went to check on my order. I got my order finally. Also when I placed my order on the app I was forced to leave a tip. I did not find away around not leaving a tip for a to go order. A couple of weeks ago when we were there the waitress gave us the total. We thought the total was off . We asked for an itemized receipt. We noticed she was adding her tip with the grand total. It was a price difference of $30. Its not like we werent going to tip. Im not sure Ill return despite the food being great! Always ask for an itemized receipt dont let them give you a verbal total.

Met up with some friends for happy hour, and this was my first visit. Our food , pepperoni pizza and nachos on the HH menu were very tasty. The 1/2 off burgers seemed very popular and looked good as they kept coming out the kitchen. Three great drinks and 4 hours later on a Thursday night was time well spent. I will be back for dessert another trip.

Went with family today for lunch. It s been a while since I have had such poor service at what seems to be a higher end restaurant. I love the variety on the menu, but if you are going to offer soo many healthy and grass-fed options, please change the mashed potatoes to real potatoes instead of the instant mash. Also my knife would not even cut my steak. Other than that the restaurant is awesome, the atmosphere is very chill and fun. I enjoyed everything except the terrible mashed potatoes. The bartender could loosen up and smile more but she took care of my needs.

We love On The Kirb! The atmosphere is welcoming and beautiful. The food is incredible, especially the wood-fired pizza. Our server was wonderful; she was kind, friendly and very attentive to our dietary needs. The mimosa tower is a fun way to elevate our brunch experience. I probably need to come back for their pizza BUT, brunch? solid, no frills, exactly what you expect the brunch menu itself leaves a little for the imagination, but that doesnt mean it isnt satisfying. I could probably down a bowl of the breakfast potatoes with some of the salsa verde, only place ive seen do sunny side up corect--runny yolk, SOLID WHITES, youve got me sold to come back! Everything tasted great, Katzs coffee is a plus, only giving 4 stars because its Good. not AMAZING, but good. I dont think you could go wrong with anything here. service is attentive, and super courteous! shocking it was so empty when we came!

Stopped here running errands with the wife. We stopped in just to order a drink or two and an appetizer. We requested a booth but were told we couldn t sit there because of a game that was two hours from its start time. Even though there were other people sitting in other booths. I wandered in this place after passing it up many times in the past. Sat down, ordered a burger and a beer. The burger was good but exorbitant ($36 for a cowboy burger and a single cup of Guinness porter), The bartender that tended me clearly favors people they already know, resulting in bare minimum customer service. The atmosphere is unremarkable. $36 for a burger and a beer. I would have spent less at dedicated gourmet burger restaurant, The burger was good but failed to justify the price, the poor service definitely did not make up for it either. Additionally, after scrutinizing the drink menu, it was clear that the bar focused on liquors and wines and not beer as the only stout they offered was a watered down version of Guinness stout (Guinness porter). The rest of the beers offered where the same selections at every other run-of-the-mill so-called bar. It is setup as a sport-bar with televisions playing sports broadcasts mounted everywhere they could mount one.

everything was great! The cheese dip is to die for as well as the tacos and pizza. Great atmosphere and great prices. Less than $100 for two entrees, an appetizer, and 2 drinks each. Definitely a date night staple. The staff is exceptionally nice as well -Nicole was our server.

As a 2023 update, please note the Wednesday night steak night, for an 8oz Filet Mignon, with mashed potatoes and Asparagus is now $30. Still excellent in my opinion and worth the price. I highly recommend On The Kirb for their Happy Hour (4 to 7-pm as of June 2021) - especially the Wednesday steak night. A perfectly cooked 8-oz filet, with mashed potato and asparagus is the offering. Appetizers are 1/2 price, with $2 off draft beers, $2 off spirits, and $5 wine. Great organic food, great staff and a great atmosphere - a definite go.

We went to OTK to watch the TX vs OSU game at 11 am on Sat. The management would not put the volume of the TX game on, instead they blasted loud bad 80s pop music. The only people in the place were there to watch the game. Very disappointing that they dont care about their customers. We walked to Christians Tailgate and enjoyed the game with sound.

10/10 highly recommend this restaurant/bar!! The food is always incredible (especially the steak). They have plenty of TVs to watch your sports team. Saul makes some amazing drinks and is attentive and very sweet. The service is always quick and very friendly. The atmosphere is chill; definitely an unbeatable vibe!!

This is a perfect Happy hour spot, The ambience is great. If you don t want the loud club music then this is for you. Our server did amazing and I ordered the grilled chicken burger and fries. I love on the kirb. their food is consistently good, particularly their nachos (& when you get delivery, they send the nachos disassembled which is SO nice), but a little overpriced. my one complaint is that they used to have the BEST pickled jalapeños, which I assume were homemade. they were crunchy & perfectly spicy & just so good. I ordered extra every single time because they were my favorite part of anything they were on. when I opened my nachos today I literally gasped at the sight of clearly different, generic, store-bought pickled jalapeños. they re soggy & disappointing & im realizing how much the old jalapeños carried the nachos. i probably won t be ordering again until i know i will get the good jalapeños :/ bring the old jalapeños back!!

Our first time here - we decided to try for our weekly Happy Hour Date Nite. We try one new place each week &&& may or may not go to another one. We have added On The Kirb to our list of favorites! We usually like to sit at the bar, but they were packed, so we sat at a high top table by the bar. Nicole was awesome! She recommmeded drinks. We enjoyed their delicious Queso w/ homemade chips, outstanding Shrimp Tacos & Cobb Salad. Everything was fresh & made to perfection. We are so glad we discovered & intend to try their Saturday or Sunday Brunch.

So I gave this a 1 star the food is great but when I seen the vallet sign I was waiting on the vallet to help me and he is never there when I show up. Your vallet sucks and he keeps following and taking pictures of this woman that s always here on the weekends. That s creeping for real. Parking: Bagby your vallet isn t at his stand when I show up I feel like y all are stealing my money even then the parking lot on bagby is free. Y all should get rid of vallet to be honest. I have friends that come with me and they don t like it either.

I specifically asked my server if the food was spicy. He said it would not be spicy. He set the tip or it automatically defaults to 25 percent which I paid and I got home and my food is too spicy to eat. I really hate that - I pay 18.00 for an entree and I get treated like nothing more than a 25 percent tip.
