We ate dinner here twice during our week stay at Waikoloa Village. Obviously, we were so impressed with the food quality, service, and value, we came back a second night. We did have a meal at the Nui Italian at the Hilton Waikoloa, and we thought the Macaroni Grill was twice as good at half the price. Well done Romano s Macaroni Grill!

TLDR - Do yourself a favor & go anywhere else. We arrived to an empty parking lot. This should have been a clue that we were about to make a huge mistake. We walked into a completely empty restaurant. I m not kidding. There was not a single human soul visible. We yelled out Hello? Are you open? This was our second chance to turn around & go anywhere else. We stuck it out & we were seated as the only patrons in the entire restaurant right next to the bathrooms. Not a single employee wore a uniform. There were random people that would walk around the restaurant in street clothes who were clearly not diners. This was one of the most bizarre dining experiences of our lives. The very overpriced food was terrible all around. This entire visit had zero redeeming qualities. PSA, if you walk into an empty restaurant, there s usually a reason why. Turn around & run!

Below you will see a review written 5 years ago. I did love their meatball and spegetti. Our last visit revealed a big change. The meatballs were the kind sold at Kroger frozen. Actually, the Kroger ones were better. The red sauce was watery lacking flavor like a watered down off the shelf bottle. Even the bread was different. My wifes meal was also sub par. It had been around a year since our last visit. How things have changed to fight inflation and labor costs. This is a great place to go for a well prepared meal. The atmosphere is casual but not too much so. We have eaten there many times and never had an entre that wasnt fantastic. Their freshly made bread is super.

I used to come here pretty often. Its changed a lot over the years. Service has gone downhill and food no longer impresses me. Let week I ordered a simple Mac and cheese. Didnt get my bread and My Mac was so runny and disappointing. I know the box may have added some water but that wouldnt have accounted for the flavor. I ate a few bites and disposed of my lunch.

Was hoping to have a nice Christmas dinner with family. This place sucks!! Not one employee says happy holidays, merry Christmas, nothing. Waiter did not even want to be there and displayed that clearly. Took for ever to get food. My wives food came out cold. Manager took no accountability. Gave 25% off ticket but then charged for 3 wines each for two people when in fact we order only two each. Will not ever eat there again like ever never. Merry Christmas fellow community members.

We ate here last week, and DJ was our waiter. He was awesome! It would be a dream to have him wherever we go because we have had some bad experiences lately with customer service at other restaurants. They act like you are lucky to be there and treat you as such. DJ was attentive, respectful, and personable. It made us feel welcome, and he should tour the Houston restaurant scene and give classes. Thanks, DJ and Macaroni Grill, for noticing excellent talent.

Went to this place for my moms birthday despite seeing some controversial reviews because its what she wanted. One of the reviews I saw mention long service times and boy they were right. We get there get seated and 15 minutes went by before I had to ask where is our server? After that it took another 5 minutes for them to come. After ordering we waited over for an hour for our food to come. Multiple tables that were sitted after us were able to get their meals way before ours and theyre excuse that we came right after a party. Finally get the food and my chicken was very bland, they used too much Alfredo sauce on my pasta and overall it felt like it was reheated in microwave. Overall very bad experience we spent 2 hours at the restaurant because of poor customer service and they tried to apologize by giving my mom a free dessert and a $10 gift card that expires 12/2023. Would never go there again. And would not recommend it to other people looking at the reviews.

Only awarded 3 stars because food was good. Location in front of The Woodlands Mall. Looking very run down and rather seedy inside. No idea of server name. No name tag and didnt give us his name. Took a long time to get drinks. Had to ask for menus. When food came, server tried 3 times to give me wrong entree. Another 10 minutes and I finally got my dinner. All others had theirs first try. Bread is no longer delicious focacio. Dry, thick, loaf. No notation on menu that pepsi is served, not Coke. So, no Jack and Coke. Small selection of uninspired beer, so group member had water. Not crowded on a Saturday night so puzzled as to why things took so long to be delivered. Small portions for prices. Bottom line, used to eat here frequently, will not go back.

We were on vacation from Kansas and saw that there was a Macaroni Grill near the hotel. We were very excited since the ones in our area closed years ago. We made a reservation for 5 on a Friday night at 7:30. The restaurant was very large and classy. We were seated immediately and drink orders taken quickly. The drinks and fresh warm bread arrived a few minutes later. Our party ordered Fettucine Alfredo, Penne Pesto, and Spaghetti with Garlic and Olive Oil. We added on Lobster soup and Caeser salads with the meals. All the food was prepared as ordered and arrived the table steaming hot. It all tasted delicious. The restaurant was clean, including the bathrooms. The atmosphere was relaxed and cozy. Our server and service in generally was exceptional! He was friendly, informative, and very attentive. Drinks were filled without asking, plates taken away to make space, bread refilled when empty, and asked multiple times how things were and if we needed anything else. Sadly, we were too full to try any dessert. I wish this chain of restaurants would come back to our area to provide Kansans with quality fine dinning Italian.

This is a nice Italian restaurant on Woodlands Mall Ring Road. My friend and I stopped by for lunch. I havent visited it during the last two or three years, so I was surprised to see very few people eating at about 1:00 pm. It used to be packed with people, and we often had to wait. Nevertheless the food was excellent and the service was very friendly and prompt. As always, they served bread with olive oil, which was delicious. We ordered lasagna and chicken scallaopine. Both dishes were well prepared and tasty. The dishes tend to be rich. You can order low calorie meals also.

First time to Macaroni Grill. Had Shrimp Portofino, Moms Ricotta Meatballs and Spaghetti, side of Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Tiramisu for dessert. Main dishes were very good, including meat and the sauces. Brussels sprouts tasted good but seemed a little burned. Complimentary bread was soft and good but had a dust of salt on top; I think we wouldve liked it without salt better. Tiramisu was excellent. Service was great and atmosphere was good. Came here in part because my wife saw Macaroni Grill mentioned in a recent movie. It seems this is the only location in the Houston area; glad we came here.

Visited a week ago. The food was tasty as usual, but the service left a lot to be desired; our party of six had one member ignored during orders, his salad was forgotten (albeit quickly remedied), and a different members entrée came out after most of the table was already done eating. Other party members recalled service being much better in the past, so there was some disappointment at our table. Overall, not a terrible experience, but not exactly good, either.

This was a really sad experience. I felt like I was in the wrong place. Maybe 10 people in the building at 7PM, including employees and customers. Not sure if there was a host, so I sat myself. Only 2 or 3 employees working, not sure who my server was supposed to be - a young lady said the servers are all busy but she could get me started. The pace of the service was incredibly slow, she ended up taking my order and bringing my food, so I guess she was my waitress. No refills and the food was lackluster. My side salad looked delicious but came out after I was finished eating my entree and was ready to leave. It was very depressing overall, I remember when the restaurant first opened and the lines and crowds to get in. The fun servers who used crayons to write their names upside down on the table, the delicious fresh loaf of bread, etc. Its too bad this will likely be the last chance I had to eat at a Macaroni Grill and Im sad this was my last impression.

This place was classy and hoppin back in 2002 when I lived in The Woodlands. I didnt realize that it was even still open. That aside, it really is kinda like a trip back to the late 90s, early 00 inside. Looks just like it always has. Some of the booths and tables are pretty old and worn. Allot of the food, if I am being honest, tastes pre packaged. I had a Caesar salad with roasted chicken. The chicken was definitely not roasted or grilled. It almost has to be pre packaged. It was also probably either microwaved or while cold, they heated it in an oven/warmer without any covering. It was about 1/2 of a thin chicken breast sliced and offset to the side. Honestly, this tasted like a Dole Caesar salad kit with a piece of pre cooked Tyson roasted chicken breast on top. And lets talk $. The salad was $11.50 plus $4 for roasted chicken. So almost $16 for essentially a side salad with nuked chicken.? So sorry if it being so harsh. The server was pretty cool. Had a great sense of humor but not gonna be enough to bump up the score to anything higher than a 3.5... and I feel that is a bit generous considering.

This place used to be so good, many years ago. What happened? We had an early dinner, about 5pm. It was like they werent ready for us. It took almost an hour to get our simple food order. We picked an Italian restaurant because pasta should be simple and fairly fast. Instead, we spent most of our evening sitting around waiting to eat. Waitress was nice and attentive, so not really her fault, unless she forgot to turn our order in. When did finally arrived, it was pretty mediocre at best. Seemed about like a TV dinner that had been microwaved or day under a great lamp too long while other dishes were being finished. How does a big brand like this get so mismanaged? Cant recommend it. Too many other great options in Houston area for simple Italian food. Wont be back for another 10 years or more.

I remember this place was off the chain. The bruschetta and the Caesar salad was the high light of the whole meal. Thank you for your time.

We ordered online and picked up. I chose 3 PM and it wasnt busy at all, a perfect time to pick up. Order was ready about 10 minutes early. Hostess was nice and apologized for the wait, even though I got there early. Food was good. We ordered the Chicken Alfredo with the Caesar Salad, 3 loaves of bread (2 came with dinner package and they offer a complimentary 3rd) and cookies. Photo depicts shrimp, however, I added that myself. Shrimp doesnt come with it. Food was still warm when I made it home. They have a $30 meal for 5 deal and I thought that was a good special. It comes out to $6 pp.

I give two stars because my food wasnt bad and it was Valentines Day when I was there. So this experience was not a normal day. That being said, for it to be a special day and a very big important one and it be ruined... come on yall. My wife and Is first Valentines Day together and it was supposed to be her first good Valentines. So that is the setting. They take reservations on Valentines day. We found that out upon avail. Me and the Wife spoke about this on the drive there. if it is 30mins-1hr wait we will stay. After being told we would be sat in 30 mins we WAITED 1hr and 35mins!!! An hour in we thought it would be funny to reserve a table under a different name and see which came first, us being seated or the reservation. We luckily got seated before than. The Host could have mentioned itd would be best to reserve a table online. We may have been sat faster. To the 7 other tables that were waiting behind me and my wife I hope yalls nights went well. Not a single manager looked over the hosts on this night. No manager even thought to speak with us or the others waiting. One manager was just loudly yelling at the kitchen staff the whole night how We are almost done. We will be out of here soon. I worked the food industry for 7 years I know it is rough. But dude you have guest that are waiting 2 hrs to be seat right behind you. ON TOP of all that my Wifes food was burnt! It was her very first time there. Did not want to make a fuss. but I tried it at the end of dinner and I wouldnt have served that to a dog! I hope others read this so none of their special nights are ruined. Server was alright. Never asked how the food was. maybe she knew.

Went to this restaurant on 28 Jan 2023 at 11:30am with my wife, son, daughter-in-law, and 4 month old grandson. Place was empty and the attempted to seat us right behind the reception stand. We asked for new table and were given a small booth and I stood there with my grandson in car seat while the reception person and waiter just stood there. I asked for a child seat and waiter rudely said the reception person would get one when finished seating us. They finally brought the child seat, and we were seated and the waiter, Chris, introduced himself and asked for our drink order. He returned several minutes later with bread but no drinks. We started eating the bread expecting the drinks were on their way and my daughter-in-law began to choke on the dry bread. The drinks did not arrive until 15 minutes after we were seated. Chris then took our order. My wife ordered a salad with chicken and Chris rudely commented You know that is a salad, right? We waited an additional 35 minutes for the food (had been in restaurant for 50 minutes) and it finally arrived with lukewarm entrees and cold chicken on my wifes salad. Chris asked is we wanted parmesan cheese and I said yes; he came back with cheese and I turned to talk to my wife and he said Sir, you need to watch me apply the cheese. My wife asked if the chicken was supposed to be cold and Chris rudely said no, what do you want me to do about it? We said we did not want to wait another 30 minutes for a salad and Chris said he would make it right and left. Another individual came to the table (I assume it was the manager although he did not introduce himself) did not apologize but stated the waiter was slow to deliver our food and a new salad would be out in 10 minutes. Salad arrived in 10 minutes but we never saw waiter again - no checks on refilling our empty drinks or how food tasted. Received >$100 bill and left. There were no apologies for the late lukewarm food, no checks on how we were doing with drinks or anything else. There are many better Italian places in the Woodlands with friendly staff and better food at this price point. We will not be back!

As a long time customer since 1996, Ive always enjoyed this restaurant. Ive noticed the decline on quality over the past several years. Speaking of macaroni grill as a chain. The last time I ate at one in ocean side CA , I swore Id never go back. But i decided to try this facility and I enjoyed it. Even tho I sat at the bar, I felt neglected, however they were were understaffed. But since the bar tender was very friendly, it was easily forgivable. I will be back. Yall need to bake the bread like to used to.

Our server was rude. We were still eating our dinners when he came over and asked if we wanted to order dessert. I said no we are still eating dinner and he ignored me and went to bring the dessert tray over regardless. Again, I said we would like to finish our dinner before we look at desserts . Also the famous Romano meatballs were a real disappointment. Hard little meatballs balls with no real flavor, I have tasted better in frozen grocery store brands. I expected more here. This was in Texas.

The bill was $117 for 2 adults and 2 teens. We didnt order drinks. The price is a bit too expensive for the type of food and the very old dated restaurant. We could have spent $10 to $30 more and go to a much better restaurant.

Thank you, Jasmine, for a wonderful dining experience on New Years Eve. Your friendly, attentive approach made our dining experience special. And our meal was delicious. Vegetarian options: The mushroom ravioli had a great earthy taste of mushrooms and caramelized onions. Makes a great, filling plant based meal. But the sauce is dairy based.

I wish I could rate the experience as 0 stars. Used to come to this restaurant many times before COVID. Moved out of state, and decided to come back here to give my family a wow factor because how great the service, and food used to be here - total letdown. Waiter took the short staffing issue out on us when we were ordering, and rudely asked if we were ready to order entrees or not because she was the only waitress from 4-5 which was odd. No need to take that out on us, and make us feel rushed. Food was served cold, and there was an ant in my fettuccine. Told that there was ants on the window ledges that get on the food which doesn t make any sense. Very disappointed with our experience, and will not be returning. I miss when this restaurant was phenomenal.

Save your money and go literally anywhere else. Chilis makes a better pasta dish than anything on this menu. The bar smells like backed up sewage, our waiter was not competent, the fact that a defrosted pasta dish costs $20 is laughable. Fountain drinks were flat and cost $3.50 each, the same price for a kids cup and we had to hunt down the waiter in an empty restaurant for a refill. We spent $70 for two adult entrees and three kids meals and arguably the worst restaurant experience I ve had to date. I am baffled how this place is still operating.

Well I guess we can start with the menu ( its very minimal on 11 by 8 printed paper, very cheap.) We both had the chicken piccata , the chicken was over cooked and dry. The price was overpriced for the quality and quantity. I used to go there lots of times, but this one it was the last time. I dont recommend eating here.

This location was actually pretty good but we did suspect our chicken was recently precooked and reheated in our dish. It did not have that fresh made texture to the chicken, it was a little chewy but everything else tasted very fresh and tasty. They were short staffed caused a bit of a wait.

Wow have their prices increased. Paying $18 for just regular spaghetti then if you want a salad it s another $3.50. So, $21.50 for a spaghetti dinner?! No wonder it was empty when we arrived. For that price there are better atmospheres and restaurants. $60 for my mom and me to eat there with just basic meals. Way too expensive for a casual place.
