I cant speak to how the food tastes here, that s why I m giving it a three star , but I felt quite insulted by the experience. This restaurant is highly judgmental, so if youre not dressed up, you might want to avoid it to save yourself some embarrassment. We were traveling from out of town and, after reading some reviews, decided to try this place. There were four of us, including two kids, and we requested a seat near the area with a lake view. However, we were consistently directed to a corner on the other side of the restaurant. Despite our repeated requests for a brighter spot, the manager informed us that they usually place families with children in that corner. At that point, I decided to leave and we went to a nearby restaurant where the food and service were both excellent. After we finished our meal, we walked by the original restaurant and noticed a family with a baby and a stroller seated exactly where we had requested to sit. Clearly, there was no policy about seating families in the corner. Unfortunately, this is how they choose to manage their business.

Service and atmosphere was good but food is just ok (muscles were very good though). 18-25% suggested tip calculations on the receipt are based on the after tax price and they are incorrect numbers (all higher than the actual %). For example our bill was $195 before tax and $211 after tax. The suggested tip of 25% (printed on the receipt) is $54.38 which is $2 higher than 25% of the AFTER TAX total!! A 25% tip should be $48.75. Very scammy

A year ago, I made a reservation to take my wife out to dinner to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. Upon arrival, we were delighted to find a beautifully decorated table adorned with rose petals. To start the evening, they graciously offered us complimentary glasses of champagne to toast our anniversary. The restaurant staff were exceptionally friendly, the food was fantastic, and they truly went above and beyond to make our celebration unforgettable. Its definitely a place we look forward to visiting again.

Happy hour drinks should not be $15-17. Very misleading info on what was included in happy hour. The ONLY redeeming factor in this visit was our server Teiler. She was service the way it should be. We had 9 guests and the auto 20% tip was calculated on tax included. Ugh. Salads looked like they had been left out of fridge from yesterday. Rude argumentative cocky manager. Will not go back. Parking: No close in parking, be prepared for half block walk from parking. Not fun in summer.

My recent experience Saturday night at Azzurro in The Woodlands was a mixed bag of highs and lows. We had reservations and arrived on time, only to be informed by the hostess that our table was being cleaned they have several tables empty but she guided us to half booth no too comfortable She then seated us without much warmth or a greeting. The lack of a simple Good evening or How are you? set a rather cold tone for the evening. Once seated, our server approached us promptly and asked for our drink preferences. We requested sparkling water, and she brought a large bottle to the table. We also ordered wine, appetizers(mussels ) and risotto. The food itself was delightful well-prepared and tasty. However, the service left much to be desired. The server did not introduce herself, nor did she make any suggestions from the menu. One peculiar thing was how she poured our sparkling water to the rim without asking, something we usually prefer to do ourselves to keep the bottle fresh. Throughout the dinner, the service continued to disappoint. When we requested bread, the server assured us it was coming, but it never arrived. The appetizers were delivered by someone else without a word, and another staff member began grinding pepper over our meal without asking if we wanted any. Thankfully, the pepper grinder didn t work, as we did not want pepper. To make matters worse, the server brought a second bottle of sparkling water without us ordering it and seemed visibly upset when we declined it. Her demeanor made it apparent that she was trying to increase our bill, which felt dishonest and off-putting. The only bright spot in the service was the busboy. He was friendly and took the time to ask how we were doing while cleaning the table. His warm demeanor stood out and made him the only staff member who truly seemed suited for the restaurant business. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, and the food quality is commendable, but the service was far from satisfactory. The lack of smiles, basic courtesies, and the pushy attitude regarding orders we did not make significantly marred our dining experience. I hope management addresses these issues, as a restaurant of this caliber should deliver a seamless and enjoyable dining experience, not one where guests feel pressured and unwelcome.

Liam was a great server, he attended to all of my families needs on Mothers Day. On the other hand, the Managers Mark and another fellow, as well as the hostess were displaying many micro-aggressions towards myself and my family. For the entirety of our dinner they stared at us, and followed us when we were looking at the patio. On top of this, the hostess had the audacity to ask her colleague as we were leaving if they were sure we paid for our over $300 meal. This was the first restaurant I came to that displayed such racist actions, and Ive been to much more established restaurants to experience this while celebrating my Mother. Im extremely disappointed in the actions taken by this restaurant and if you are a person of color DO NOT eat here.

If I could give this restaurant less than 1 star I would. I made Mother s Day reservations a week in advance for 12 people to celebrate not only Mother s Day, but the baptism of my granddaughters. We had guests in from out of town for the celebration. The day before the reservation the restaurant called me to confirm the reservation. I asked them if there was a contingency plan because we were booked on the patio and it looked like it would rain. They assured me they had room for our party inside and even described in detail where they would seat us inside in the event of rain. One hour before we were due at the restaurant, Matthew, Director of Operations, called me to cancel the reservation because they didn t have room for us. I told him I had spoken with the restaurant the day before to confirm we could be seated inside and was told we could. Matthew was nothing short of dismissive and rude. He shifted blame, didn t apologize and his only response was we don t have room and you shouldn t have been told that, we gave the space to someone else . He made no effort to make it right. As a result we were left with no options to go out to eat with such a large party and a last minute cancellation. I have never heard of a restaurant doing this and find it to be completely unacceptable. There is nothing professional about this place at all. They lost an opportunity to try and make this right but chose not to.

I wish I was writing this review based on my actual dining experience, but as our Mothers Day reservation was cancelled last minute this review is solely based on our customer service interaction. We had Mothers Day reservations for a party or 12 made for several weeks. We also were getting our two young daughters baptized the same day and had multiple family members coming from out of town the celebrate. The day prior, someone at the restaurant called to confirm our booking on the patio. Rain was expected in the forecast. If the patio became unavailable, the employee shared that they would be able to accommodate our party inside. They went as far to detail the specific area that we would be seated inside. An hour and a half before we were due there, someone from the restaurant called to cancel our reservation. We expressed our confusion, as we were specifically told the rain plan they came up with. We were told that the inside had been booked for several weeks and that they were unsure why were told a rain plan when they would have never been able to accommodate that. I understand that mistakes happen, but it was a very painful day for that to have happened considering it was both Mothers Day and a baptism celebration. No concessions were made by the restaurant to make up for their error other than sorry. No other restaurants were able to accommodate us since it was last minute on Mothers Day.

Parking: At the time we went, the paid parking garage was free. There was a little bit of a walk but, we wanted that. Wheelchair accessibility: Because the restaurant is at ground level and the parking garage is wheelchair accessible, I feel it is all workable with a wheelchair. There was space inside the restaurant to manure a wheelchair. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

OmG I grew up with Italian grandparents from Naples and I have to tell you the dressing on the seafood salad transported me back to my childhood! Mussels were so tender and flavorful. The bread couldnt have been more delicious. The braised beef cheeks were so tender they melted in my mouth and they were served with homemade Mafalde pasta!!! I havent had Mafalde in over 50 years; it is my absolute favorite pasta and did not disappoint. I woke up this morning wishing I would have brought some home! I cant wait to go back!! :)

Great location, delicious food. My husband and I were there last Saturday to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary , but we were very disappointed from the service. We felt we were in a fast food restaurant. Our waiter was rushing us through the entire evening. We didn t even had a chance to open the menu and we needed to be ready with our choice. Then he kept picking up our plates with food still inside and the silverware on the side ( clearly saying I am still not done). The manager had to step in twice because drinks were missing ( meanwhile the waiter was fixing the lights outside ). We will think twice before we decide to go back there.

Im sorry but Id have to give it 2 stars: both to food and service. I was there with a group of girlfriends. Ive ordered caprese salad (tomatoes were so underripe, there were green and hard, whole salad lacked any flavor). My mushroom ravioli were ok, Id probably give it 7/10. Tiramisu was somehow off, not traditional recipe and cappuccino was cold. Was it worth $68 plus tip? It wasnt. One of my girlfriends had to send her oyster soup back because it was very oversalted. Another girlfriend had Branzino where fish was overcooked and rice was undercooked. Plus, it started off with we are out of lobster bisque (at 1PM on a Sunday???), we cant bring a teapot of hot water for you as we only have 2 of those (when it eventually comes, it has no lid to keep that water hot???), well serve your tea with small cups as our dishwasher broke and cant keep up with dishes, etc. Sounds like an excuse after excuse after a very expensive meal that wasnt worth it. Sadly, none of us will be returning.

Our server Grayson was phenomenal! He was funny, charismatic, and very knowledgeable about the menu items. The food was absolutely delicious!! We tried the lobster soup, rigatoni and sausage, braised short ribs with polenta, half chicken and pasta, and the filet mignon. Everything was delicious and flavorful! The ambiance of the restaurant was so nice, and the service was impeccable. I am looking forward to going back!!

Italian experience in The Woodlands. Appetizers were excellent - calamari, smoked salmon and mussels in wine sauce. Scallops, NY strip and spaghetti with clams. We enjoyed the calamari and mussels most. The smoked salmon missed the mark for us, Houstons restaurant has an excellent smoked salmon appetizer. The scallops were cooked well, but the cauliflower risotto was not a good pairing for me. Other dishes were good, not excellent. Atmosphere was very nice overlooking water. Lastly, have to get the 12 layer chocolate cake.

We went here for lunch on saturday. Had no problem getting a table. I made my apologies for not being in better attire but i couldnt help as it was a last minute decisionto go out to eat. It was amazing. The decor is so cool and modern. They have very nicely set tables and there is plenty of natural lighting. Very picturesque by the lake. Our waiter came and took our drink order and gave us a nice rundown of the menu. We settled on calamari for appetizers. We are going to try the octopus next time we go. The garlic bread the waiter brought us was amazing. For our entrees, I got the salmon, which was amazing. The sauce that topped it was so incredible. It seemed like it was a marinara basil garlic blend but very creamy. Totally unique. Mi amor had the seared cod with veggies paired with a glass of pilot grigio. She said she really liked it. Our son had the pork chop and mashed potatoes. We got the tirimasu for dessert. Was very good. I really had a great time. The manager stopped by and chatted with us a bit. Very nice of him to do so. He brought us our appetizers. Everything about this resturant was great. We will definitely come back. Because I want to try out the pasta next time. See you soon.

They keep saying they re going to get shades for the sunset-facing windows but haven t even put up temporaries. It is brutal to sit facing the window, which a lot of seats do. The sun is worse between 5:30 and 7:30 and you must wear sunglasses to even eat if your chair faces west. The food is good, but I feel sorry for those who can t enjoy their time until around 8:00 when sun goes behind trees.

This was our first visit to Azzurro. Overall, we enjoyed and had a nice meal however there wasn t anything that blew us away. There were multiple options for parking including valet and self-park in a nearby garage. We parked in the garage and had an easy walk down restaurant row to Azzurro, which is located on the end. We were greeted by the staff and shown to our table on time with our reservation time. There was plenty of variety for cocktails and wines by the glass or bottle. Menu seemed to offer a nice spread of some classic Italian dishes and coastal/seafood inspired options. The burrata was a good appetizer to share. The lobster soup was flavorful but the actual lobster may have been a bit over cooked. Scallops and cauliflower risotto was flavorful and the scallops were cooked nicely with a proper sear on both sides. The rigatoni and sausage was another good option; lighter than I expected (I was pleasantly surprised) but packed with flavor and the portion was just right. Can t go wrong with cannolis or tiramisu for dessert. Service overall was ok- again, nothing wrong and nothing over the top. Food was all served timely and we never waited longer than usual for any of the courses.

Definitely one of the best places in The Woodlands. Perfectly authentic Italian cuisine with excellent pairings. We had oysters, Pistachio Crusted Salmon, Scallops with Cauliflower risotto, for entrée and their 12 layered chocolate cake for dessert was good enough for 4 people. The restuarant has a great sunset view and the music and the service are definitely above par. Tends to be on the costlier side even when compared to the other places in The Woodlands but worthy of the experience.

I will preface the review with a reminder that my wife and I were waiters for several years in nice restaurants as well as catering staff for a fine-dining catering company. We realize some things are out of a waiters or even restaurants control. However, some things are well within their control. Azzurro Italian Coastal Cuisine presents itself as fine dining cuisine with a sort of casual expectation for its guests. My wife and I visited Azzurros for a special occasion dinner. There were guests there wearing shorts and flip flops to more formal dress and everything in between. Overall, it was a typical Woodlands mix of upper-middle class diners. The restaurant was busy, but we were (relatively) promptly seated with our reservation. The woman at the hostess stand had an argument with a waiter, and talked more about the issue with another staff member all before greeting us. Its not professional to complain and/or argue in front of guests. Never let them see you sweat. It didnt bother me too much, aside from being ignored for a few awkward minutes while standing right in front of her. Everything about the location looks professional, and clean, and modern from the layout of the tables to the staff. As some other reviewers have mentioned, the seating is tight. It is especially tight if you get a shared booth table. Being seated was fine, but getting up and out without hitting your neighbor or their table took some time and effort. The food was good. We had the Calamari (cooked in duck fat). I would give it a solid 8 out of 10. The calamari was tender and the breading was light and crispy. The aioli dipping sauce was a little salty, especially near the end. Adding a marina option wouldve made my wife happier. For an entrée, I had the spaghetti with clams. Another solid 8 out of 10. The very first clam I had wasnt the best (not terrible), but then every clam I had after it was good. The pasta was cooked properly and the sauce had a good flavor. My wife had the seafood risotto. If you like variety, this might be the dish for you. It was served with a bed of risotto topped with two large prawns, mussels, clams, calamari, and salmon. I did get to taste it, and would probably go with an 8.5 to 9 out of 10 for that dish. My wife had a limoncello drink and I had what was basically a banana Old Fashioned. Both were good (yes, even the banana Old Fashioned). For us, the décor, environment, and the food were the stars of the meal. The only negative, which was minimal, was the staff. There was some confusion regarding seating, which caused waiters to have tables spread all over the restaurant, which in turn caused some delays in checking in and prompt service. (That was what the issue at hostess stand at the beginning was about). The other thing I noticed was that most of the wait staff seemed like they were trained by Texas Road House. Theres nothing wrong with Texas Road House. We like it. However, it isnt the environment that Azzurros is trying to create. They were a little too informal and shared more information than they should have (the kitchen is behind, the bar is behind, the seating it messed up). Waiters should never, but especially at a place like Azzurros, complain about other parts of the restaurant to guests. Also, some negative comments plant seeds in guests minds. For instance, our waiter apologized for the wait for our entrees. Except, that our entrees hadnt really taken that long at all. If a guest asks about the time, you address it. But, you dont bring it up or you bring it up in a positive way, like I just checked and your entrees should be out shortly. I chalked it up to the restaurant being relatively new and hasnt yet created a culture for their wait staff. But, they really should consider a follow-up training for staff etiquette. I could see this becoming an issue in the future unless they take steps to correct it now. Parking: The valet is very reasonable ($5) with ticket validation from the restaurant. Just ask the Valet before leaving your car if they work with the restaurant you are visiting.

Azzurro Italian Coastal Cuisine is not a regular Italian restaurant . The focus is on seafood, so don t expect Carnonara, Bolignese, Napolitan, peperonata and other typical italian dishes However, there is plenty of other options in the menu for people who do not want to have seafood. Meat, Chicken, and several vegetarian options. While in the menu there is no Vegan option, they offered several options they could cook for the vegans under us. The place is excellent and the service is very friendly! It is not cheap, but it is completely worth! The only two minor points to improve: - desserts were not bad, but not good either. - cafe (expresso) was prepared incorrectly. Taste was good, but there were no expresso foam .

Appetizers and entrees are great (from salads to pasta, from seafood to beef). They also were able to accommodate dietary restrictions for food allergies and my vegan brother. The atmosphere is great, if you go later towards the day when the Texas heat is dying down, seating out in the balcony area offers a great view. Having said all that, 4 stars because the desserts are meh and the coffee (espresso) for an Italian place was embarrassing (maybe a poor barista that day). Def recommend, skip the deserts and the coffee. Vegetarian options: They accommodated an off the menu item for my vegan brother that was quite tasty.

Food was good along with nice view of the lake and location. Would have liked to sit near the lake rather than corner booth. I would turn the music up a lot louder, was nice when I could hear it rather than the table talking next to us. It was my birthday and the hostess stand knew it; as I made the reservation and wanted a special table when on the phone. Specifically saying while making the reservation that it was my birthday and please put us at a good table. Maybe 10 minutes in they brought another table right next to us in the booth area when the restaurant wasn t busy. We could hear every word of their conversation as if we were at the same table. Do not sit in the booth area. It was the worse possible type of table to sit next to us on my birthday. It was young kids on a first date probably in their 20s. My mother thought the guy was on a job interview..haha. I told her no, that was just a horrible first date. It got to the point where I would have just left but it was my birthday with family so I had to finish out. (Booths too close or turn up the music) The food was good. Nice to see something unique/authentic in this area as there is a lot of restaurant competition. The mussels were excellent. The clams were very small as seen in the photo. It was a disappointing entree, as it was mostly pasta with tiny clams, with some missing. The flavor profile was good but expected more/bigger clams. The server didn t explain anything. Had no speech or greeting about who they are and what they do. We drank multiple glasses of wine, would have been better if he recommended some bottles rather than paying by the glass. Also I would have liked some question like is this your first time? Or any question or comment for that matter. For a previous birthday we went to Via Emila and they gave us the private room, that was memorable. Was expecting same level of service, since it has the same owner. Management should be aware of special occasion reservations. Put them with their best servers at their best tables. I d probably go back for the white wine mussels at the bar and a glass of wine
