First time here, the patrons were friendly and easy-going, very chill vibes. The bar has a very generous selection, the atmosphere/ambiance was swanky and yet down-to-earth. Staff was on point, no wait for a drink. Thank you to the super hottie Alyssa behind the bar! (forgot to get the other guys name that was working with her, but thank you too!) Came here with my coworker during lunch and the food was delicious! We got a taco each and an appetizer which was the jalapeños. They can be a bit spicy for some! Drink was good. Restaurant itself was good and the food presentation was nice!! They have specials all week so make sure you check them out I ll come back with my husband

Im in town to visit my mom, my wife, and I stopped in and got the 2 meat plate to share 45 minutes ago. Can I say I wish I found this place the first night we were here cause good God, this place is amazing! The brisket was perfect, tender, juicy, and just the right rub on it, the pulled pork pibil was so tasty I cant even explain it you just have to try it. The Mac an cheese absolutely delicious. And then theres the bourbon lemon cake thingy Ill tell you what if I lived within an hour of this place Id weigh 400 pounds cause Id drive for that sweet lovin daily. Signed one very happy customer.

Tonight we had a blast. We came to enjoy the hockey game and they had it playing. Our server was knowledgeable and quick. Andy let us know about the game specials and gave the best service to me and my family. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the rain on the tin roof. There are so many wonderful things about Barrel and Bones. I visited to to watch the playoffs with my gal and we loved the awesome drink specials. Mine was an Uber Eats delivery. I ordered the 2 meat (wet brisket, pork rib) and pork-beans. Let me begin by saying the only reason this is 2 stars is because of the beans. The only thing wet about the brisket was fat on the outer edges of this brisket disaster. The slices (2) were otherwise crumbly, and fell apart. Ordered 5 meats and 3 sides. Cole slaw, smoked chicken and potatoes were hot and tasty. Other 4 meats were either cold or really dry. Informed the owner and the bartender of everything and we were charged full price. We only ate about 30% of our meals in total. I stopped here one evening after work because I was having a meat craving. I ordered a pound of brisket but I was immediately disappointed. The meat seemed old like from the day before or longer. It definitely seemed microwaved and very dry. I ate half of it in my car because I was so hungry and then threw the rest of it in the garbage where it belonged.

Great experience and this place is a hidden gem. Excellent brisket and sausage. Pulled pork was good too. Turkey was ok. The sides are difference makers. Surprise side dishes were the cauliflower and the fried green tomatoes. We went with a group and got to try a little bit of everything. Elote, okra and cauliflower were my favorite sides. There are better BBQ places nearby. I almost feel bad giving this place 2 stars but I feel like its necessary. I got the 2 meat 1 side option for $20. I chose the brisket, chicken, and mac & cheese. Both the brisket (flat and point) were dry and the chicken was even drier. Anytime BBQ requires sauce to be good is a bad sign. Cooked properly the smokiness and seasonings should shine through with the juiciness of the meat. This was not the case here. The mac & cheese was better but not fantastic. It was a little one note with not enough breadcrumbs to elevate it. Service left something to be desired as well. Requested the check and while one employee droned on and on about politics with some patrons the other employee made 5 drinks, took multiple orders to tables and then finally brought my check 10 minutes after requesting it. I dont necessarily blame the waiter, I blame his lazy or distracted counterpart. The drink menu was extensive but being on my lunch break from work I did not try any and it is a blind spot in my review

This is a hidden gem. Great food, service and great place just to hang out. Mikaela our server was the best server I had this year. Friendly, kind and truthful. Oh my goodness! This was our first and last time visiting this location. My family and I stopped by on Saturday the food was good, but not served hot. There were not that many people in the restaurant, so we thought it should been served hot. The atmosphere was fine and the service was good. My husband wanted a two meat meal to go, specifically for Sunday s meal or Monday s lunch. The picture below shows the chicken. It s not edible! I want to preface this by eating i know bbq isnt cheap. But this is texas. Throw a rock in almost any direction and youll hit a good bbq restaurant. Im afraid this is not one of them. Ok, yes. Fair, yes. Not good. The sandwich I had was doused in bbq sauce that ended up on all parts of me... Ok fine, my fault, but then I had to spit out several mouthfuls of gristle. My wife had the cobb salad and texas twinkies and her stomach was doing backflips before we left the parking lot. Barrel and Bones is a top lunch option in the Colony. Very friendly service and a solid affordable menu. Several good BBQ options - my group enjoyed everything we tried on several visits. I ordered tonight through Uber eats, and I must say, it was the most disappointing meal I have ever eaten. I 100% should have waited and gone to Hutchins BBQ, but against my better judgement, I tried to get my BBQ fix here. The ribs, were just overcooked, tough pieces of some type of meat. I didn t actually find a single rib bone until the end, and it was the length of my wife s pinky. The burnt ends, weren t burnt and mostly just fat, by far the worst I have ever eaten. The turkey was just dry and tasteless. The green beans were cooked well, just not seasoned and topped with days old bacon pieces. The one star represents the one thing that was done right, my sons meal, brisket and elote. But he s 15 and will anything, sooo? Also, for the price you charge, offer TWO sides. I mean seriously! And if we only get one side, make it a large one at least. Either way, this review is for everyone else, I will never eat here again.

The place has changed ownership and has screwed things up. Used to go in and pay $10-12 for an old fashion. $8 for the whiskey and a $2-3 set up fee. On whiskey Wednesday s it was great because I paid $5 for a shot, set up fee of $3 and get another shot on the side for $3. Now they charged me $12 for a Bullet Rye. Are you f ing kidding me? Plus $3 so $15 for a bullet. Ordered my second poor and I m looking at $27 for a drink I used to pay $13 for. Then I ordered food and told sandwiches had at least 8oz of meet. I was lucky to have 2-3 oz on a brisket sandwich for $12. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS PLACE AND IF YOU CONTINUE WITH MANAGEMET PRACTICES I FORSEE A CLOSING IN THE BOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE.

One of my all time top experiences! My buddy came into town from Oregon. I had seen this place in passing and saw the menu online but had never been. We were looking for a place to play pool and get some good food. This place popped up in my head and we gave it a shot. SUPER HAPPY WE ENDED UP HERE! We set up shop at the pool table, took a look at the beer menu and narrowed our drink order down to two different selections. Bartender quickly offered us a sample of both which was refreshing to know I would be making the right choice. We played one game of pool and our food was delivered to our high top. My friend ordered the burnt ends and I ordered the briscuits and gravy! Both of these entrees were absolutely amazing! I had dreamed about the place on a few occasions. Need to get back here asap. I would recommend this place to anyone!

The food here is amazing! We had the deviled eggs, fried pickles, texas twinkies, brisket grilled cheese with potato salad, tacos and stuffed French toast and everything was delicious. Service was a little slow, but there seemed to be only one waitress and some bartenders helping her. The food more than made up for it. I am looking forward to going back and trying some of the other dishes offered.

My first visit was fantadtic. The waitress was very friendly and explained to me about the menu and food. Was hesitating to try this on a Friday night at 9pm it had almost no customers! Glad I stopped by because the green tomatoes with burnt ends were great! But not really shareable only a 3pc. So note that. The brisket was dry and the ends are very much like tree bark! Was good but dry. Service was a bit awkward took a long time to get the check and we had to ask for to go boxes after waiting around 20 minutes for the check finnaly came after we packed up our leftovers. Its a great late night quiet spot but nothing fabulous.

On Sunday after a LONG day for both of us, my husband and I wanted BBQ for dinner. I came across Barrel and Bones and wanted to give them a try. After trying over an hour to get someone on the phone to ask what time the kitchen closed, no luck. My husband decided to place the order online. After all of that, we get a confirmation that our food wasnt going to ready until the next day. Now we are frustrated and angry cause we couldve used what they charged us somewhere else. Needless to say my husband wasnt having it. We drove there to get a refund. Upon entering the host/bartender didnt even greet us. The 1st thing out of his mouth was if youre here to eat, the kitchen is closed. 1st, I hope he doesnt lead with that all night to incoming guests. 2nd if we hadnt already paid for the food we ordered we would never step foot back in there. Just for the rude welcoming we received. My husband went to explain to Mr Rudeness the situation, just to be told.he needed to get management to help us out. The manager quickly came out, listened to our delima and eventhough the kitchen had JUST closed for the night, he made sure we got EVERYTHING we ordered (except the okra, fryers were already off). We sat and had a drink while we waited on our order and this young man made sure our visit wasnt a complete bust. He is the ONLY reason we will come back. As a native Texan, Ive been trying to understand the culture of whiskey here and why its LOVED and this place seems like a place I can find some whiskeys and bourbon I can enjoy. I didnt get the managers name, but we will definitely look for him on our next visit. He is a jewel and I hope he gets recognized for going above and beyond for your guests.

Pleasantly surprised with the new look. Been coming here for years, but lately it had declined - slow service, out of menu items, wobbly tables, loud atmosphere. Had been a few months since eating here, and was very surprised at the new look - a bit more classy, new high chairs, and no more wobbly tables. Service was great, food was great, new menu is great. Best green beans Ive ever had! Smothered in crisp bacon, parmesan & garlic. Burnt ends & brisket & pork were plain tasting & fatty. Onion rings were not flaky, more like frozen beer batter onion rings. Kids liked the Mac & cheese. Boy liked the sausage. PP liked the ribs, but would search for other BBQ before going back here. Berry bread pudding had no berries & was just like a chunk of moist bread with a sweet sauce & ice cream on top. Just left this place a few minutes ago. Had been coming here for about 3 years now and todays service was absolutely atrocious! Came a few weeks ago and I guess it was under new management and the service, food, and atmosphere were beyond excellent! Today, however was a complete 180! Our table was dirty for a good 15 minutes before anyone came and checked on us. They didnt even wipe the table down or anything. They just took the empty glasses and check away. After this, my wife and I ordered just 1 old fashion and 2 waters. Didnt get either for a good 10 minutes. After we got our drinks, we placed an appetizer order. After waiting an additional 20 minutes (45 minutes in total) I cancelled that order, paid for the drink and left. The restaurant was very unorganized and the people at the bar were the ones getting the service and taking up all the room in the restaurant. Couldnt even walk to the restroom bc the guys at the bar area were taking over and spreading into the hallway being extremely obnoxious. Today was absolute chaos and the worst service Ive received at this restaurant.

Out of all the choices of local restaurants to go to for my Birthday dinner. I chose this favorite of ours. This place was and still is one of the tip top Craft Brew and Whiskey bar in all of DFW. They also should be more famous as a Smoke House because thier Smoke and BBQ here are top notch. They have never disappointed me. Ribs I had where Succulent and tender jucy, just from the dry rub. Brisket street tacos where mouth watering good and the Black and Tan Beer battered Onion ring tower is a fantastic appetizer. Also of special note is their Baked potato Salad which is a unique house recipe, its a must try! But the show steeler tonight was the vanilla Ice Cream covered Bread pudding. I had for Birthday cake . Just Wow! Also our server Nicole was super friendly polite and gracious, our glasses were never in danger of running dry.. the Bartender Lisa crafted one of the top 3 best Old Fashioneds Ive ever had made from Basil Hayden High Rye! Bar tenders are not included in this review! If youre looking for a good beer this is your place! The bar tender who helped me nailed the taste of beer I was looking for and I will return for the drinks. The food needs LOTS of work I didnt taste anything close to barbq flavor and its definitely no for the sauce choice on the table (tart Ketchup) and the ribs were fatty (we ordered three meats) ribs, brisket, sausage and an extra side of chicken wings. NONE of the meat tasted like BarBQ??? brisket was more like a roast beef used for mashed potatoes and gravy and it wasnt hot in temperature as if we got there too early even though they were open during lunch. NOT the vibe I thought it would be. Customers were not staying in the designated drinking areas they were walking the parking lot are with wine glasses.. so odd! I love BBQ, being from Arkansa it s hard to find really good BBQ in Texas. It s a matter of smoked and juicy. Well anyway Barrel and bones is my go to. Its been hit or miss these last few months. I will say they give you a lot of food, but if it s try and or salty it s just a lot of food . My last experience was the loaded brisket fries( SALTY) and brisket queso(amazing). This time the ribs (a little dry but good) The brisket (first time it has ever been try that I have experienced) The Jalapeño sausage (always on point) The loaded mashed potatoes (SALTY BAD SALTY) for almost 10.00 for the small bowl of mashed potatoes please stop over salting these items they are to expensive to throw away. I gave 3 stars bc the manager was rude when I told him it was salty as if bc he didn t think it was salty it wasn t. Well sir some of us don t load a bunch of salt on our food. I have it a fair 2nd chance after years of coming I won t be back.

This was my 3rd time eating here over a 2 year period. Each time is worse than before. I only ate my jalapeño cheddar sausage and half of my potato salad. Everything I had here was great. We had the 3 meat plate, sausage, sliced brisket and turkey all 3 were amazing. I highly recommend the green beans which were seasoned perfectly. My only complaint was the $6.25 price of the sides...really $6.25 for a half cup of beans is a bit pricey. I cant recommend the desserts, we had banana pudding and the peach cobbler both were awful in fact they should offer dessert if this is the best they can do. Otherwise, great food and service.
