This place is a hidden gem in Longview. Everytime I have gotten their Pork Tonkatsu it has been delicious. Today however, it was even more so. The chef that brought my ramen out was super friendly and the dish both looked and tasted amazing.

My husband loves anime and ramen , this was the best combination of both. Various anime posters and multiple TVs playing anime, made for what felt like an authentic experience. They have a lot of ramen options from beef/chicken/pork, whatever you want they probably have it. If youre into spicy they even have a devil challenge that you actually have to sign a waiver for. I wasnt quite brave enough to try but definitely interested. The flavors were rich and the broth had me going back for more and more, literally cleaned my bowl. #GoogleGal

broth was tasty noodles was nice and thin pork and brisket for 2 different orders was tasty and soft gyoza a tad small but tasty takoyaki couldve used a bit more mayo but its rare I find one, and they were pretty tasty You can order extra parts (veggie, noodles, meat) Overall this is a nice place to get great Ramen place. My spouse is not a soup person, but enjoyed the chicken boo dry noodles version They even have a nice plastic, helper thing for chopsticks for the kids.

Never been here before. Waiter was nice, forgot something but no big deal. Was apologetic about it. The store is cute but there was a sewage smell when we walked in that was strong. This looks like a old building and stuff happens, but it needs to be aired out badly. Very reasonable prices. Food was ok for the location. Noodles tasted like store bought, broth had no flavor. The fried rice was much better in our opinion.

I have had Ramen in Japan and enlarge urban areas, and I feel the quality of Ramen Saikou food is comparable to any of those. The Tonkatsu Ramen tastes excellent in its flavor and broth. I feel the noodles could use an upgrade, but other than that it is almost perfect.

The Ramen was good but lacked that rich unctuousness you get from a well prepared Ramen. Portions were about average with an overdose of salt in the broth. Not a big fan of the pickled yolk in the 1/2 egg (this is a personal taste item). I prefer the regular/original egg yolk. They had run out of Sake when we got there which was a little bit of a disappointment. Parking: In a large strip mall with plenty of free parking

Was excited to come here after seeing the reviews but I didn t have a nice time. The restaurant had a fowl smell and was extremely hot as soon as I arrived. There was 2 servers there when I arrived, the lady was very sweet serving but the guy was sort of messy and wasn t the best at serving. I ordered the bao buns which were okay but definitely didn t taste fresh, the bun itself was very thick and chewy but the egg rolls I ordered were very dark colored and tiny. This is the second ramen place I went to so I guess I just expected more. The ramen itself was great, very tasty and huge portions that I couldn t even finish. Wouldn t come back.

Ive been to ramen spots around Houston, and this place is just as good or better. The Tonkotsu is amazing. I recommend asking for a second helping of noodles to take home, unless youre the type that slurps the broth to the end. Theyre also very liberal with the hot peppers if you ask. The Death Ramen lives up to its name. Its the most spicy thing Ive ever been served at a restaurant!

tl;dr, the best of the East Texas ramen shops (1. Ramen Saikou in Longview; 2. Ichiban Ramen in Tyler; 3. Mikoto in Tyler). I tried chicken (aka tori chintan with shoyu [soy sauce] tare), pork (tonkotsu with shio [salt] tare) and brisket (also tonkotsu with shio tare but brisket instead of char siu meat...its not a beef-based broth). Chicken - The broth is very flavorful. You can taste a distinct chicken flavor with charred and fresh aromatics. The shoyu tare doesnt overpower the broth and its very well balanced and you can taste the different components. Wavy noodles were firm (the way I like it) with kikurage (wood ear fungus), bean sprouts, green onions, nori (seaweed sheet) and half a seasoned soft boiled egg. It comes with two slices of sous vide chicken breast. The chicken being cooked sous vide makes it super tender and moist. It absorbs the broth flavor well. Pork - Basically the same comment as above. Very flavorful and balanced because you can taste the different aromatics along with the pork. I typically prefer a stronger/richer pork flavor with thick milky broth. My favorite versions are either the super rich liquified pig kind with heavy garlic and a layer of fat on top (this is the kind I usually get when Im in Torrance, CA aka lil Japan, visiting family) or rich with strong katsuoboshi (smoked fish) flavor like the kind that you can get at Wabi House in Dallas. Ramen Saikous is a less rich variation but I really like it alot because there are more dimensions to the flavor. I couldnt stop drinking the broth, even though Im normally not a broth drinker since it takes up stomach space that could otherwise be occupied by more food. Their broth is actually better than some of the shops Ive had in Torrance, which says a lot since theres no shortage of authentic Japanese food there. The two slices of charsiu had the right amount of torch char, acceptable thickness, and good ratio of meat to fat. The brisket was tender but I definitely prefered the pork. The noodles were the straight kind and were also firm. Instead of driving two hours to Dallas from Tyler, I can just drive an hour to Longview for excellent ramen. Still worth it even though there are two shops within 15 minutes of me. Ill definitely be back more regularly. If youve never had real ramen and youre closer to Longview than Dallas, check this place out.

Meh. The broth is fine, but the noodles are a fail. Lived in Japan for a couple years and love me a good bowl of ramen. This wasnt quite it. I honestly think they use dried noodles like you get from the grocery store. Was looking for authentic ramen, and the noodles are a huge part of it. Definitely not fresh made noodles, and not even the bagged almost fresh noodles... really just the same ones you buy in the grocery store for a quarter.

We gave this place a try this past Friday evening for dinner. I tried the Tonkotsu Ramen and the wife also had a ramen dish. The ramen was unfortunately very bland and there was very little of ingredients in the bowl. The ramen was very disappointing. We also tried the octopus balls for an appetizer and they were seemingly a ball of deep fried mashed potatoes with a few small pieces of calamari inside. It definitely was not octopus or at least not any I have ever tried before. And the deep fried balls were drizzled with some kind of sauce that tasted like Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce? Im not sure but am sure I wouldnt try those again. The restaurant is in a drab storefront and the seats and tables are picnic style tables. Definitely nothing I have ever run across in a ramen restaurant. On the upside, the young ladies working the front were very polite and attentive. We would not recommend this place for ramen. There are numerous other options that are of higher quality.

My family and I enjoyed the casual atmosphere. We all enjoyed our ramen or yakisoba. My son enjoyed the Death Ramen (5). Next time, he will try 7! Vegetarian options: They had ample vegetarian options. Kid-friendliness: They had a high chair and were attentive to her needs.

Iam obsessed with this place! I ve never been a fan of ramen in general but the ramen bowls here are super flavorful, very filling and the portions are huge. The calamari and bao balls and tan tan noodles were all my favorite. 10/10 will be back again

I read the reviews and the ratings. I was excited to come here with one of my friends. We decided this was the slot for the day. Good reviews and good food, right. We ordered two ramen and the noodles were undercooked. Also the appetizers were as well. It almost seemed like the wait staff and the chef were both under staffed or we came at a busy time. It was less than memorable and we hate to write this but its the truth. Hopefully we have a better experience next time.

DON T GO UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE PAINFULLY SICK!!! It was my families first time going and initially we thought it was OK. My broth was tasteless and basically as good as a ramen packet that s 25 cents. It had hardly any vegetables and the noodles were tough. Skip to currently me and my entire family (including my 2 year old) are PAINFULLY sick! STOMACH CRAMPS, etc.

I came here for dinner last night with 2 friends. To start off, the waitress was very good and helpful. Also, it was uncomfortably hot in the restaurant. We started off with the pork gyoza, bao buns and spring rolls. The gyoza was decent, but needed to be pan fried more. It was basically just steamed. The bao buns prok belly was on the verge of being raw, was too flabby. The spring rolls werent bad, nothing really great about the apps. I ordered the gyudon fried rice which came out a lot different than normal gyudon. There also was a strange aroma and taste about the dish that was off-putting and almost made me sick. I was barely able to eat any of it. My friends got the tonkatsu ramen and the shoyu ramen. They said their dishes tasted really bad as well. Their noodles were over cooked a lot and were just all stuck together and the broth tasted bad. We should have known not to go there when on the door when you go inside it said they were hiring a cook. Food was extremely disappointing. Definitely wont be going back.

If youre in the mood for something savory, this would be the way to go. It is on the authentic side, so aside from ramen and fried rice, youll also find edamame, steamed buns, and takoyaki. I tried the tonkatsu ramen with hot chili oil. Savory, comforting, filling, and very well priced!
