I went in and immediately realized that this was not an authentic Japanese steak house restaurant. It is your typical fast food in a restaurant environment. I felt a bit rushed and it was obviously not busy.

This place deserves a 5 star rating!! I love Edo Japan, they have delicious teas with boba options. Everything I order is fresh and made to order. When I try something new from this establishment it is absolutely delicious the sushi, appetizers, salads and soups. And when I order from DoorDash my food comes very quick. Definitely give this place a try it is my go to when I eat out.

Let me start with what was good. The crab rangoon were great. Service was good as well. However, this sushi place is not for me. I struggled to find a special roll that wasnt tempura or cooked. I prefer raw sushi. And even after I asked if the fuqua roll was cooked and was informed it was raw, I was served a deep fried roll with cooked fish inside. They took it off my ticket. The samurai roll was my other pick and it was just too much cream cheese and tempura. The shu mai were also only ok.

The fried rice and miso soup was the best fried rice and miso soup we have ever had. The flavor of the sushi was amazing. The atmosphere was also very pleasant. 10/10

When we sat at the table and it was extremely sticky, we should have taken that as a hint...then we waited far too long to get drink orders...should have left then but stayed...again, wrong move...we then waited an hour for everyone to get their food. Then waited another 30 minutes to get our ticket as well as the other to go order that was put in when we first gave our orders. The lady served everyone but us. We felt targeted. They were not that busy and she knew we were on a time crunch. Then the sushi rolls came out wrong and the tickets were wrong. It was just one thing after another...Quite disappointing.

This was our first time going here. I was surprised to find out they had more locations around Houston. There is a lot to choose from even the drink menu is long and varied. The appetizer selection is full of great options of fried and sushi options. We decided to get the appetizer sampler that had the fried options with shrimp tempura crab Rangoons, fried spring rolls, and fried tofu. It came with two sauces, one sweet and one savory. Everything on the plate was delicious, especially after finding that right combination of sweet or savory. I got the lunch special sushi that came with three different sushi options and a soup or salad. I went with the soup, and for sushi, I got the spicy tuna roll, eel and avocado , and the salmon roll. Sherry Ann went with the Philly roll. It was a lot of food, maybe too much food. I enjoyed the eel and the salmon. The tuna was ok, but the others were far better. Our server Bagus was great checking on us answering all our questions and making sure we had a great experience. This was great service, great food, and the restaurant itself was nicely decorated and clean, and they even have a bar if thats your style. I would definitely recommend this place, and Im already looking forward to coming back.

My nephew suggested we try Edo but didnt feel like driving to Fuqua and altho this wasnt all you can eat it was sufficient. He said the service here was better but the sushi rolls were bland. I have to agree with him about that - they were bland. Will I go back? Yes! Yes, cause Dickinson does NOT have a good place to eat japanese/Chinese food (apart from Kabuki Grill)

They do have hibachi, but make it in the back and bring it to you. However, for as much as they charge, its not worth it. The food wasnt great either. However, the waitress was very nice and brought us what we needed.

The sushi rolls were really big! Usually me and my husband can each eat 2 and share a 3rd but after one roll we were both stuffed. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was just because I felt the sushi was a little heavy on the rice which definitely filled us up faster. Everything was very good, and fairly priced.

I had lunch here a couple times and their prices are pretty good. I took my food to go. I got both salmon and shrimp hibachi with a side salad, 4 rolls total: spicy salmon, spicy tuna and yellowtail. I enjoyed the large cut veggies in the rice that were cooed enough for a nice crunch, the salmon was pretty good(my fave fish!), so I had to see if they would deliever. It was pretty good to my surprise. There was eel sauce in the dish which went well with it. The shrimp was good but the rice didnt come with sauce, so it was drier. I added soy sauce and it was fine. The sushi was ok, I dont like how the spicy looks like minced fish w/red crunchies in it though, the spicy tuna isnt red like salmon so Im confused whats in the 2 that make each spicy. The salad was as usual but their soy sauce salad dressing is terrible. Its chunky and it separates and not meant to go on salad. Gross. Id go again and get soup and reg. rolls.

I love this place and dine in or order online at least every other week. Ive never had poor service and the food has always been excellent until now. I placed an order over the phone on March 17th for food before I went to work night shift. My boyfriend picked up my order and I realized they had forgotten my soup with my hibachi meal. I called and asked if I could pick it up on my way to work and they happily gave me a larger size soup when I got there. Later on, while I was eating I bit into a piece of my tempura vegetable appetizer and almost cracked a tooth on something very hard. I carefully spit it out to see what it was and there were several pieces of some kind of metal in my food. This was not only unappetizing but dangerous. Thankfully I did not crack a tooth or swallow any of the pieces, but it makes me hesitant about ordering anything to go from now on. I did take pictures of the pieces of metal to document what occurred. I also did not want to post anything without first bringing it to their attention and I got no response at all. Update to the owner: No, I sent a message via Messenger. Ive been working night shift and have no time to call, wait for a manager and repeat my problem to several different people. Im quite sure this was not burnt food. It was hard as a rock and somewhat crystalline in structure. All I need is that meal replaced because I didnt want to eat any of my meal after that. I dont like giving negative reviews, especially because I love eating here. I was disappointed that I received no response to my message so I came here to hopefully get a response.

Wow! Fresh sushi and hibachi, though the hibachi s are in the kitchen. Not elegant or glamorous interior but large portions for the price, which is reasonable. Lots of edamame for $4! The rolls are huge and quite a selection, from baked mussels to fresh and saltwater eel to the standards. The big attraction is the presentation of the sushi boat! Wine is a bit overpriced at $9 a glass for Cupcake Pinot Grigio. They do have happy hour prices and house wine. I d definitely go again. Fried rice platter is humongous!

I love, love, love this place! A dear friend first treated me to this place and Ive been going 1-2 times a week ever since. The dragon balls and the seafood teriyaki are my favorites!
