To military members with TriCARE, just go somewhere else. Unless you want to play the chances that the person at the front desk actually knows how to process TriCARE. We were turned away because according to the lady at the front Members that have triCARE have to get an authorization number. Never had that issue before and I even explained to her that Ive been there before and it was just like every other medical place I go to.. Just showed my military ID, provided my SSN and then I was seen, unless I had a referral to a PCM/specialty doctor, of course. They even have a triCARE/military sign posted on their wall and everything.. She was clearly confusing the fact that we have to get referrals to specialty doctors or primary care physicians. This was a huge inconvenience considering we needed to be seen asap for a medical concern. Going somewhere else from now on. Side note: We ended up going to Premier Urgent Care/ER off of W. Adams and they were great. In and out, no problem at all.

I walked in to the clinic for an ear cleaning. I was offered the choice to check in by paper or online and I chose online. The process was easy and took less than 10 minutes. I was using insurance that was new to me which included a payment card. That went through without a hitch. I was taken in shortly thereafter, got my vitals taken and was placed in a treatment room. Dr Mills checked in on me and was very pleasant. Jasmine did the lavage of my ear. She was kind and thoughtful and did not rush. It took some time and coaxing, but the blockage finally came out, to my great relief! Dr Mills came back in and declared all clear, and I was done. I will definitely recommend this AFC Urgent Care facility.

Have taken my elderly disabled mother here twice now and she really likes them and the entire experience. Everyone is so incredibly nice and patient with her. Only suggestion is higher toilets or bars for disabled persons to use easier. She had a hard time with them and trying to provide a urine sample.

Doctor prescribed a cough medicine to my 2 year old and he immediately passed out and went to sleep after taking it. I took him to another ER and they said he should have never been prescribed that medication, as its for youth 6/8 years old and up. The first doctor also prescribed an antibiotic without performing an chest x-ray nor recommending one. Even if their office doesnt offer it for toddlers, they can still recommend it. The second ER doc did an X-ray and discovered my child had pneumonia. When I called to address it, the first doctor simply said that now I know what they offer and can choose to take him elsewhere if I believe an x-ray is needed. She and the clinic supervisor also defended prescribing the cough medicine, saying toddlers can take it in rare cases at the doctors discretion. Again, the second ER doctor at a different facility said my child should not have received the medication at all. The first doctor did not appear compassionate over the phone and tried to rush me off, as well, as I tried to address the matter.

Upon first walking in the staff was friendly, they knew what I was there for (based upon my arrival time Im assuming) they confirmed it and I didnt have to wait long at all to be seen. The nurse who saw me was nice knowledgeable and eased all of my little concerns right away without making me feel dismissed. I was in and out in under 10 minutes it felt like! I will come again if I need urgent care!!

Visited AFC and saw FNP Lura, and I cant expressive enough how grateful we were that she not only heard us out completely on our theories and concerns, but brainstormed with us about every scenario concerning our health questions. Made an appointment for coughing and congestion in chest for my brother and when we got there they said because he had a history of high blood pressure they would not see him. We had to go to the ER and wait 8 hrs for an antibiotic prescription. They are the only urgent care in temple that takes vets so we couldn t really go anywhere else. Unbelievable

I went in for a DOT Physical (self pay) and upon arriving I found out I made my appointment for the following day. Valerie at the front desk was nice enough to still allow me to see the doctor. I did my DOT Test, passed and received my DOT Card. The office also sent a copy to the Texas Department of Public Safety. I was in and out in less than 30 mins. Great staff!

There was an office front lady there that was extremely loud and obnoxious. She was saying her personal business out loud and the whole clinic could hear. I don t think it s professional and had she been one of the caregivers in the room, I definitely would not have trusted her to be quiet about my care or quiet to where the next room couldn t hear. She needs to keep her personal matters to her self. Also, why would an urgent care clinic not have equipment to check issues such as an ultrasound?

I had the worst night n when I woke up just couldnt even get up.. I had the worst headache ever n felt my head was going to pop off!! I called off work and thought IM NEW IN THIS TOWN!! I DIDNT EVEN HAVE A PLACE TO GO TO GET SEEN!! I ended up going in to work and asking the nurse on my job site WHERE DO I GO.. I am SOOO GREATFUL for her suggestion. She said URGENT CARE IN TEMPLE.. right by the crackle barrel place .. so I googled it and THANK YOU!! So without an appointment and no insurance I was able to be seen.. The receptionists where great and helpful. Dr Mills was amazing!! He made me feel sooooo good by actually hearing me out helping me figure out the best approach to handling my situation... Very compassionate and caring! I will definitely go back because I know he will definitely point me in the right direction.. Cant leave out the nurses, also very nice - matter of fact I had to get a shot and let me say this - I didnt even feel it!! THANK GOD! Im not too fond of needles.. good hand good hand!! Yup I said it twice!! I ended up getting some prescriptions and I even inquired about something totally different than why I decided to go to the Doctor but since I was there I of course had to take advantage of the fact that I was with a Doctor that I felt SOOO comfortable and just asked so I could get something for that too.. They charged me $225. for the whole thing. I definitely would recommend this URGENT CARE FOR EVERYONE !! (I even got a purple balloon .. )

My son has had a cough for quite some time, he is too young to test for asthma, but we feel strongly based on symptoms and our research that this is the root cause. We went to AFC due to his cough becoming worse, we explained everything we have been too and were quickly greeted with answers. The staff was incredibly friendly and did so well caring for our 2 year old son. I wish there were more doctors staff like this! We will definitely use AFC for any of our future urgent needs.

We waited well over an hour past our schedule appointment time just even to be brought into a room. In total we were there for 2 hours even though we had an app. When we did get seen, the provider would only test for strep. When that was negative, she just diagnosed upper respiratory virus and wouldn t test to see if it was flu or Covid. Don t go here if you actually ant to know what illness you have.

Only criticism (and not the staffs fault) was I had religious worship songs played at me while in the lobby, on an AFC branded channel with AFC ads. Not a huge deal if its regular TV, but AFC is clearly carefully controlling the content and to play religious stuff to patients assuming everyone is Christian is pretty insulting.

Made the appointment online for 30 minutes from when I scheduled. Arrived there and got in right away. Office staff are courteous and helpful. Saw the Dr. for bad rash from poison ivy. Got treated quickly and prescription sent right away. Dr. Is a nice guy. Very comfortable to talk with. Will definitely go back if ever need to. By the way, they take Medicare.

I ve given this place reviews before and will gladly do it again!!! They are quick to take care of the problem and get you to feeling better!!! For the last 10 years this has been my number one go to spot when dealing with minor illnesses. For myself and my family!!! I had illness suddenly sneak up on me at work today and they were so quick to get me in and take care of the issue. I will always come here before Scott and White!!! Love Dr. Mills and Dr. Summers!!! Also some nurses have stayed working there from when I had started coming to them 10 years ago!!! Love this place!!!!

Awesome visit. Staff were cordial, check in was super easy. The doctor was amazing! He listened to what I was saying and was thorough in his evaluation. I am now on the mend thanks to the folks at AFC Temple and my VA who made the visit happen!

Terrible experience. I waited 1 hr and 15 mins before I was invited to the back. Their waitlist is inaccurate because it stated I was the next patient and several others were called back before me. The nurses who check your vitals are not very friendly or welcoming. Once I got to the back, I waited another hour before I was seen by the doctor. A nurse even walked in during my wait to grab something, and didn t even acknowledge me or apologize for the wait. The only reason I m giving them 2 stars is because the doctor was much better than his assistants and the prescription he prescribed worked. Overall, would not recommend unless you want to wait all day.

Every time Ive been to AFC, I have had an overall good experience. Both the nurses & Drs are all friendly, helpful & informative. There was one time I requested a Drs note for being out sick and when I got it from the girl at the front desk, she had printed someone elses. I only found out when I handed it to my supervisor and she noticed. So now I always look at it before I leave if I get a Drs note. Other than that, I think AFC is great.

I have used this place before with no major issues, but my recent experience is one I hope no one else has to experience. I went in for testing and when the results came, I was told I was positive on one of the results. I was in literal shambles for 2 weeks before I decided to get a confirmation test from another facility. That result was negative. I called to get clarification on the type of testing thinking the lab (a third party facility) made an error. The person I spoke to on the phone read my result and the testing range used to determine said result and told me I should come get a copy and have my pcp take a look. I did just that and got a copy of my results. And here is where major concern kicks in. Everything she told me on the phone was the exact opposite of what the lab report actually read. The lab report was also set up to show results in 2 columns: the positives and the negatives. All my results were listed under non-reactive so even if there was difficulty reading a range the report was set up to be an easy read. While relieved I was negative, I was very upset that at least 3 pairs of eyes looked at my results and all came to the wrong conclusion. The staff either did not care to take the time to read my results to give me an accurate diagnoses or they did not understand how to determine a result from a given value and test range. Either way is very concerning. I gave the extra star because I was able to get ahold of a supervisor and voice my concerns and she seemed to be very apologetic and receptive. If you choose to use this place please get your own copy of results especially if what you are told does not make sense.

Went there for the first time not feeling well receptionist was not helpful at all. After filling out their questionnaires the Dr consultation went well and I was satisfied with their services. Upon checking out they had a shift change and the replacement receptionist was friendly and helpful.

Travelling through the area and tried to get my son tested for strep. Called to check on wait time at 3:42 and was told that there is no wait and they stop taking patients at 4:15pm. We walked in at 4:11 after driving just under a half hour to get there and were told that they couldn t see him.

Went to get a simple physical. Made an appointment, which didn t do any good, it was still a 2 hour wait. Advertised rate was $35 when I made the appointment and when I checked in for the appointment the next day, it changed to $65. Rude personnel. Waiting room and bathroom were dirty. I will never come back here.
