If I could give them negative stars I DEFINITELY would!!!! It is ridiculous that my uncle has not been able to see his own mother or his partner he has been with for over 15 years all because his EX wife who REFUSES to sign divorce papers has put restrictions on his file.. my uncle has REPEATEDLY told nurses he DOES NOT want her there and EVERY TIME she is in the room his health is in jeopardy and it shows! My uncle is in ICU and is in the hospital for a stroke he had recently! He is alert and knows exactly what s going on and what he wants and the nurses continue to ignore his wishes!! This is so sad they are putting a piece of paper before the patients wishes and his health!!

If I could I would give them zero star rating. They are allowing a person who has not lived with my brother in law for over 15 years. Who refused to sign divorce papers to make decisions for him. All while his current partner who has lived with him for YEARS and have a child together not to see him. Including his mother. All because she has the same last name. His cognition is intact and he is able to and has told the staff he does not want that person there. Yet she is blocking everyone from visiting. At this point the hospital is holding him hostage with a person who he has not lived with for years. Even going as far as not allowing him to receive any calls from his current partner practically wife with their young son. You all should be ashamed for allowing this. Not to mention he went in for a stroke and his blood pressure gets out of control when that EX partner is there.

We didn t have a good experience at this hospital. The nurses were very sweet but unfortunately the doctors seem extremely lost about the issue that we were facing. Communication and assessment was terrible. My grandmother had extremely high blood pressure and we never got to speak or see a cardiologist. The food they brought her was absolutely terrible and unhealthy, not even a healthy person should eat like that, much less someone with high blood pressure. I don t recommend this place.

I think their business plan is to disgust you to the point you wont come back and then sell your employer BSW only insurance and double charge you for every other visit. Ive paid my copay at every single visit yet I get billed every single time through the BSW billing after the visit. They schedule a procedure and bill their own insurance 40,000. The Dr. decided not to do it but the charge is still there, my 10x larger copay did not get refunded either. It should be illegal to sell insurance that ties you to one provider.

Rating two stars until parking and valet become accessible and available to patients at all times. Visitors are wrongfully given priority over patients and I always, always, always struggle to find parking for my appointments to where I need to use valet parking. But even then, valet parking can get full, too. It was nice when visitor policy was strict in 2020. Now? I think patients should be able to come first when it comes to parking anywhere on the campus. Patients should have a sticker on their cars that recognizes that they are the patient to prioritize patients when they arrive. SOMETHING needs to change. There needs to be a seperate parkingnfor visitors or limit visitors again.

While my brother was in ICU (221) care his nurse Josh was amazing! Any questions we had, he explained in great detail. He was incredibly patient with my brother. If we needed something he was quick to respond and I always felt like he was happy to help us! He did an extraordinary job! I appreciate the care Josh provided. Keep up the great work Josh! Nurse Liz was also another one of his nurses that was fantastic! I was confused with a lot of the medical talk and she sat down with me and explained in a way I could understand! She was patient with me while I asked so many questions! She also was good to my brother! Deborah came in to do his swallow test. I got to see her in action twice! Let me tell you my brother kept asking for water and she would not budge! She had to make sure he could handle it first. He was very persistent but she continued to explain the process with a smile on her face. She handled it all so well! Kudos to anyone that interacted with my brother. The surgeons were informative. The several nurses in and out were all friendly. Never did I have any negative feelings in his care. Although, this is not a situation I want for my brother to be in, I am thankful the staff were all caring and attentive! Great job to all of you for providing great service!!!!!

This hospital is the worst in night nursing care! I have a relative who just had major surgery and is subjected to sitting in their own filth for hours at a time and is ignored. There have been numerous complaints and welfare checks for our family member due to us not living in the same city as them. Nothing has been done to stop this inhumane care of the night staff. They are risking serious infections or possibly body sores due to them not being able to care for themselves. I highly do not recommend using this hospital or it being a consideration for any health care. 9/12/24

If I could give this place negative stars I would. My daughter was born here and they never did the newborn screening on her for any diseases. She was born with cystic fibrosis and no one ever told us or tested her for her. She was hospitalized here again a year from birth due to not eating and being severely malnourished and missing milestones, yet they still did not test at that time either. It wasn t until we moved to California and got proper medical care at the age of 4 that she was finally diagnosed with cystic fibrosis. Shame on this hospital and even their prenatal doctors who did not screen me for any diseases while pregnant with her.

Was waiting on a very important phone visit, and it didnt go through. I was right next to my phone, and it automatically popped up as voicemail. I called back as it was kind of important for a scheduled surgery. I spent an hour on the phone getting transferred around many times. Example, I cant access schedules, so let me transfer you. The next number after waiting on hold, Oh, this is bill pay. Call this number. From that number, we only help with virtual visits. Let ne transfer you. The next number, were currently closed due to holiday... After almost an hour and I dont know how many transfers and calls, I finally found a human that could help, but it was only to put a note to supervisors and ask them to call again. The doctors here tend to be great in my experience, but the administration and set up is the opposite.

They were horrible. I rushed to arrive on time to wait 30 minutes. Then they proceeded to rush me out of the door in what felt like 10seconds because the injury was not surgery related. The nurse that did the initial intake was hostile and blunt and the ortho specialist Robert wiggled my hand labeled some ligament injuries and gave me not a single piece of advise outside of buddy tape. It was and more often has been a horrible experience going to this place and dealing with the feeling of being a number rather than a patient. This is a big problem Baylor Scott&White will never be able to fix as far as they have let it go.

We cannot thank Baylor Scott and White Temple Emergency room staff, Neurology Team, ICU Nurses, Oncologists and all the many Doctors from these departments and the Surgical team in particular that diagnosed and removed the brain tumor from our daughters head. The week went from that phone call you never ever want to get from your child to the Scott and White Temple trauma ER, to ICU, to the brain Surgery, to recovery in ICU, to a short 19 hours in a regular hospital room, back to her house in Waco -a 7 day trip. She walked out of the hospital late today and got into her own car with her sister driving and came back to Waco. Holy Moly. Incredible. The outcome could not have been better and the prognosis to treat and never let this happen again looks to be the best we could ask for. From a Grateful Family- Thank you Thank you Thank you!

I always leave positive reviews so this is a big departure from the norm. Terrible experience today with Temple BS&W. Had an Alzheimer s assessment appointment scheduled for months with the neuropsychology center for my husband. We use MyBSWHealth portal faithfully to keep up with appointments, co-pays, lab results, etc. First negative: driving in from out of town (over an hour), we were a bit lost. I called the number listed in the appointment section and received the voice message, Please leave a message. We will return your call within the next 24 hours. A definite patient support/relations failure. Second negative: upon arriving at Desk We were told we needed to pay the $3,000 co-pay. The front desk receptionist checked with the business office. They confirmed the $3,000 co-pay. I have always received a note in MyBSWHealth ahead of any appointment about what my co-pay would be. But NOT for this one. At Patient Relations, the representative read a note stating a call had been made 7/5 and that the voice message stated the $3,000 co-pay. When I checked the phone messages, there was a reminder call for the appointment but NO mention of the co-pay. Seems his transcript included info that was NOT stated in the actual voice message on my phone. Accurate documentation is crucial in the medical field. It would appear someone entered text that was not stated in the actual voice message. The neuropsych center offered to reschedule for later that day. That would mean asking an Alzheimer s patient to wait another 3 hours (and we live too far to just go home during that time) and then go through a 4-6 hour assessment and drive 1+ hour home. Again, not very patient oriented service. A wasted day, a day of work lost, plus expenses of traveling. No faith now in the care this facility can provide. Will not reschedule the appointment or use Temple BS&W again!

worst place ever. if I could give this place a negative-5 five star I would. on Sunday July 14,2024, I walking in to check out, wasnt feeling well, fainted a early and my blood sugar medication was working. I waited up to 8hrs in the emergency waiting room. They drew blood and send me back out to wait. they said 30 minutes which became 7hrs. They never got to see me. A lot of people where trying to get looked at sunday. Some families told us they had been there 10 hours and still waiting. We watch a woman collapsed and the nurse in the emergency room office did nothing. They could see through the glass into the waiting room. They didnt even bother to come out and check on her. It took about 15 minutes be before they bothered to check on her. luckily lots of people in the waiting tried to help. What is going on here. It is disgusting and they should fire those nurses. They didnt even brother to help they were watching the whole thing. OMG!!! They got another nurse to come out and check only after they noticed how many people were telling them what had happened. I hope she is doing better. I couldnt believe my eyes. Scott and White, Do better. This is Not your best. DO BETTER!

None interested in doing their job. 2 were outright rude. Quite a terrible patient/family experience. Desk staff would not allow my wife accompany her sister in despite posted hospital policy only excluding due to overload of patients. No one else in waiting area. Most Healthcare advocates recommend for a family member to accompany in order to process information. This is outrageous. Never heard of such a thing. 0 stars. My father broke his leg at work got ambulanced here on June 18th in the morning so he stayed in the ER department the entire day, had to wait over an hour to get a nurse to come and assist him. Had surgery the next day and had an external fixater on his entire leg, then gets sent to a room in the stc department specifically rooms for KIDNEY problem patients(later told by multiple nurses that they dont even know why hes in this room because of that reason). Second day in this room therapy comes in makes him get up and try to walk! His leg immediately starts to bleed and they tell him its normal when in fact its not. Then a day later someone comes in to apologize because that therapist was NOT supposed to make him stand up! Was a miscommunication. He had a planned surgery yesterday morning only to be told at 3am yesterday that they were booked (which I understand if there are other people who need emergency surgery) so he is still waiting to get surgery done to his leg. And this morning they tell him that theyre going to be moving him to the Orthopedic department where he is supposed to be only to be told hes on a waiting list. Doctors and Nurses do not communicate. Doctors will tell you one thing and nurses will tell you another its insane how my father is being cared for.

The hospital itself may be amazing but their emergency room was shameful. There were several droplets of dried blood on the floor where they take your vitals, the lobby was full of trash and people sleeping on the floors, they had a lady in the waiting room hooked up to an IV and fluids/meds, the room my sister eventually was put into had paper and small hair rubber bands on the floor. As for her treatment, we had to correct the reason she was there MULTIPLE times, she had an allergic reaction from meds being pushed through the IV too fast and her discharge papers STILL had the WRONG reason for her visit. She had severe ABDOMINAL pain, blood and mucus in her stool, yall sent her home after fluids, nausea meds and benadryl. Yall show no compassion, just an overworked staff who didnt bother to listen.

I recently participated in the All of Us Research Program administered by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), wherein I underwent a series of measurements and blood work assessments. These measurements included height, weight, blood pressure, and waist size, alongside the collection of blood samples for research purposes. One aspect of the experience that stood out to me was the convenience of valet parking, which facilitated easy access to the facility. This amenity greatly contributed to the overall positive experience. Due to a history of nearly fainting during blood donation procedures, I encountered a moment of near fainting following the blood draw. However, I must commend the exemplary care and professionalism demonstrated by the program staff during this episode. They promptly provided assistance, offering me snacks and applying a cool cloth to my head and neck while attentively monitoring my condition. Their continuous support and presence ensured my comfort and safety until I fully recovered. I would particularly like to acknowledge Melina, the individual who performed the blood draw, for her professionalism and kindness throughout the procedure. Additionally, the other staff member who assisted, though their name eludes me, exhibited a similar level of warmth and professionalism. Overall, my experience with the All of Us Research Program was marked by efficient organization, compassionate care, and professionalism from the staff, which I greatly appreciate.

Honestly I usually don t have issues with my nurses and are fairly nice even though I know I can t be a pain in the behind, but this time it s made me wry for my upcoming labor. For context, I m a first time mother to that s probably going to go into labor anytime now. My baby is fairly a non mover and in/out of the L&D emergency room a lot for baby lack of moving. Usually she s fine, but I still worry and my OB tells to go the L&D ER if baby doesn t move or loss of liquid. This time I went not sure if my water broke. I waited all day and into the afternoon to get baby to move and baby didnt. So we decided to go in. On top of that I m about 40min from the hospital, so if something goes wrong we have to go asap. The receptionist is always nice, but the nurse staff this time was cold and not the usual crew I deal with. Granted i understand the urgency when it comes to one s water breaking. not only was the nurse cold, but also the first doctor on duty. She came off as very condescending and rude as if my presence being there was inconvenient to her. Im used to normal checking, but this time it was rushed, painful and very uncomfortable. Her whole demeanor was just cold and made it seem like I was an inconvenience to her. I give people benefit of the doubt when you work long shifts, but the interaction with doctor was just cold and rushed. To be honest, it just sounded like she didn t care once she heard I wasn t in labor. To quote what she prior to my discharge was we don t want to see you until your water breaks then started listing off symptoms when I wasn t sure it did. The attending doctor was much nicer besides the painful check, but way more pleasant than the other doctor. They just seemed they wanted to kick me out quickly out of the room. I m glad my OB will be birthing me because if it was the doctor I had today I would be concerned for how my birth would go. I m aware it can be annoying with how often I go in due to how often my baby doesn t move, but again todays visit was just uncalled for when I had go on not sure if my water broke. Update: I went back in recently. And the same staff being on duty. Just a fair warning if you see Pricilla (L&D RN) is working that shift. She won t assist you with moving or shifting positions, and honestly doesn t deserve to be in L&D if she just going to have any attitude or lack of bed side manner. It s already stressful time for first time moms and her attitude doesn t help the situation. When they did the cervical check again, it felt like the PA on duty wanted you cause pain for the hell out it even when I asked her to be gentle. Update on delivery: Without a doubt I have no regrets coming here for my delivery. I came in for an induction and the whole team from start to finish was amazing. The nursing team was amazing and listened to my concerns on what I had wanted to do on my birth plan. Even though my birth plan wasn t what I had planned or hoped for the doctors were kind, patient, and understanding. Even in the after care the nurses were beyond amazing and so helpful with myself and my baby. So if you give delivery here know you re in great hands.

You make an appointment with a doctor and I only ever got to see a nurse. They were short staff not many rooms had to wait the nurses wouldn t listen when I told them where to put my IVY and bruised up my hand. Some nurses helped but other nurses wouldn t come when I call they would show up hours later after I call for the second or third. Also to make matters worst I was sent home with expired formula. My wife came in by ambulance at around 3:30 this afternoon. Here it is 8:30 and we were finally called back. We were told the long wait was due to waiting for a room. Well when they brought us back, we are not in a room at all, but in chairs in the hall. How is this not a HIPPA violation? We can hear doctors and nurses talking to other patients who are also in the hall. Some of these conversations do not need to happen in a hallway, but rather in the privacy of an actual room. Their excuse Ive heard 3 times back here is there is a really sick guy in trauma. Not trying to take away from anyone elses suffering, but one guy should not shut down an entire emergency department. If this is how this ER department is run then it is time for some new staff, a bigger ER department, or something. Never in my life have I been sat in the hall of an emergency department.

September 2023- Emergency Room Review! If you value your time and your health, youll go somewhere else. As an Ex- Navy Corpsman and EMT. I have to say this was the worst E.R. Ive visited. I witnessed a BSW Hospital police officer yank an Elderly homeless man off a waiting room bench and tell him to leave. The man appeared to have been assaulted, had no shoes or socks and it was raining outside. He was asked by a staff member to wait there until his ride arrived. Several of us witnessed this convo. My wife and several others recorded this officer until they were informed they could not, by the offensive officer. Who was by the way wearing a body cam, not to mention all the cameras on the ceiling I pointed too. We still have the video. But due to Hippa regulations and other patients in video view Ill not be posting it. He also threatened another patient who tried to explain hed been asked to wait there. I was there because Id been diagnosed with bladder cancer the week before. I was urinating pure blood. I was registered and had an IV port (Not IV) placed rather quickly. Then came the 4 hour wait full of excuses and calamities. A Heroin addict deficating and urinating herself. Almost falling head first from the wheelchair staff left her sitting in alone. We had to alert the nurses to what was going on, as they were to busy distracting themselves to notice. A man we had been talking too earlier was in such pain he was yelling in agony for help. They refused to help for nearly 2 hours, Im guessing gallbladder issues based on area of pain. All the while staff claiming there were no rooms to see patients. Because there were no rooms in the hospital to move patients too. A patient in the ER suggested if I had insurance I should go to Premier ER. I would be in and out in two hours. So I called patient services and asked if Id be billed my $500 copay if I left before seeing a doctor. They assured me I would not! So i continued to the ER desk and asked them to remove my port, I told them I was done waiting and heading to Premier ER. I was not the first by the way. Thats when a miracle happened, they told me I was next and it would only be a few minutes. 20 minutes later theyre taking me to a room in the back hallway. Past a half dozen empty rooms they could be using to see patients whove been waiting hours. My wife even commented on it to me. Needless to say it didnt improve much after that either. What a sad and pathetically inept ER. JUST SAY NO TO BEING TREATED LIKE DIRT!!!!

I have been with Scott and White for over twenty years. Theyve changed since the virus, they have now the attitude that anything goes! Went to Santa Fe clinical and they sent me to ER 3:15-9:30pm Thur. Like a fool I optied to stay in the hospital to get meds and rest. I got two-three hours of Friday morning. That was the last. The ER was like a tomb compared to the observation room temporary stay for a room but no control over noise TVS at max sound, visitors acting like being in a barn. The staff was just as and they knew noise was too high so they did their meeting at the far station, they sounding like an old get together. I been in pain for 2 day was tried and very tried. So I walk around found a dark quiet room and got found and told to go to my room. I was aggravated and ask about quieting the noise and head nurse said they cant do anything about it. Hospital are supposed to be quiet, tvs , visitors out of control. Theres no excuse for rudness, self-absorbed when a in a hospital. People remember we are supposed to be better, but since the pandemic they act like in the 1930s.

Posting on behalf of my mother in law: I would like to acknowledge Ms. Carmen Long, STC 4, for her honesty and hard work. Recently, I visited Baylor Scott & White hospital and Ms. Long was working the 4th floor which I was visiting when I lost my diamond heart pendant that was given to me by my husband. I checked in with lost and found to inquire about my lost pendant, the young man looked and checked with the nurses station but stated nothing was turned in. Upon my return to the patient I was visiting room, I noticed Ms. Long diligently at work on the 4th floor and asked her if she happened to find my lost diamond heart pendant. She quickly stated yes with no hesitation. Ms. Long stated yes she found the pendant and held on to it unknowingly of its worth. She still had the pendant on her and was happy to return it to me especially seeing how emotional I was to have lost such a valuable item. Overcome with emotion, I gave her a big hug and thanked her for being so honest. I wanted to take the time to inform you of her degree of professionalism and integrity. I greatly appreciate her being honest and genuine in our short conversation and would love to celebrate such a model employee. Thank you again Ms Long for being the person you are and I wish you all the best.

We spent 8 days and 7 nights in this hospital. And thats all Im addressing right now. During 12 hours of my husbands surgery, I was so pleased with the communication with the surgery team, and their updates! The Waiting room Lady, made sure I had a connection to the operating team, so Id know where to go upon his release from recovery and where he would go next. The staff were amazing, my husbands teams were exceptional! And I have my gripes! So many of their equipments either didnt function, or they were scrounging to share! Really?!?! A premier, cutting if the edge hospital...my husbands O2 band did not work for 3 flipping days, till a nurse finally took it upon herself to the guru that could fix it. You know what he found? A small tape that said O2 cant read! And thats just a small example of the kind of sub-par equipment we dealt with. My husband went in for major surgery (Pancreatic Cancer, 11 hours), and he has many underlying issues, Ive, Heart, Diabetes, Crohns, Asthma, just to name a few, and we were forbidden to bring his Meds in! In fact, we were told theyd be confiscated! So, for 8 days, and 7 nights, he didnt have his daily regimen. His blood sugar was thru the roof (300+), his BP Started registering up to the 200+... He was having horrific pain, not from his surgery or those areas...It wasnt till I asked the nurse for a printout of his medications, that I found out one of the ones being given....his Dr has discontinued for him 3 years prior! He wasnt necessarily allergic, but the combinations nearly killed him! (Or at least he wanted to die)! This I blame on Doctors, hospital Drs whom choose to ignore the tried and true if a 5+year regimen that works. Literally, 1 day at home? His vitals and stats are back to normal. Now, having said all of that.....the nursing staff 8th FLOOR NORTH! were all incredible! And yes, Nurse Erica! You were the one who helped me weed out the script that was detrimental to my husbands health/recovery/release! You were the one to stayed on top of getting us discharged, and we probably saw you the most! Thanks, ever so much from all that I am! And Id really be remiss, if I didnt acknowledge Nurse Laura... what painstaking ways she went to, to get us set up that first night (or should I say 2:30am)! And we got the pleasure of you again. But really, there were so many on that floor that were so gracious; they had an awful job to do, but still made us feel better! I could go on about all of Carls teams; Pain Management, Surgical, PT, OT, Care Management, Respiratory (although, if just one of them had told me they were giving him more than Albuterol; might have made Carls a hell of a lot easier)! Other than complimenting the dining staff; from the food to, requested (in person). Gosh, I hope I havent left any one out! Thanks be to God for each and every one of you!

My wife recently experienced a stroke event and was airlifted from Baylor Scott & White in Lakeway near Austin to Temple because of the available neurological expertise and technology. Thanks first for the rapid response from Doctor Travis Harris in Lakeway, and your ER nursing staff, and the two helicopter flight nurses whose names we did not get. The team at Baylor Scott & White in Temple Exemplified what true Health Care is meant to be. The doctors and the nurses were outstanding, not enough accolades available for describing how they made my wife feel and how well they treated her, as well as including me in all facets of treatment and planning. Regretful that we don t recall the name of each and every person, I am going to call out the ones that I know to make sure I give credit where credit is due. Dr. Richmond Hunt was exemplary in his concern and care, and most professional with his bedside manners. Shout out to you, Dr. Hunt! Nurses Courtney, Sydney, Hannah, Macy, Amy, Vida, Mary, Robert, CJ, and Raj all deserve mention. Hopefully I got all your names right? The kitchen staff that we recall bringing us meals such as Miss Lauren and Miss Kadira cared enough to inquire about what she typically ate and asked her what she would like to eat. The care managers of Miss Elisha and Miss Alma cared enough to make sure we were established in post hospital treatment plans and handled insurance and scheduling related issues. This team of professionals made an unpleasant situation more than bearable, especially over the holidays. From initially arriving at the Lakeway Hospital near Austin to the point of release in Temple, we knew that we were in good hands. Thank you all, you re the best, and we appreciate you! Sincere apologies to the members of the team, whose names we failed to mention. Don and Kimberley Flick

I did not go here in the beginning but a very kind doctor had me transferred here by ambulance and it s the best thing that s happened for my health in many many years. The people here are so kind. Nurses and doctors alike. I m not used to such good care. As a matter of fact I ve been a victim of hospital isolation, gaslighting, I ve been yelled at and cussed out for seeking treatment. I ve been ignored (so much so that even when the nurses did come in they wouldn t look or speak to me) here every single concern I have has been noted and addressed. I ve seen doctor after doctor and no one, and I mean NO ONE has done anything meaningful to increase my quality of life. Here they re coming up with a discharge plan so hopefully I don t have to go back in a few days when I can t get enough fluids in. I ve seen 8 wonderful doctors since I ve been here, and I m actually hopeful for a solution, or at least something better than what I m doing now. I ve been surviving my life. Not living it. From the bottom of my heart thank you for the kindness of your staff, and the attention to the real problem. I ll never go anywhere else.

You will wait half a day if not longer just to be triaged and even longer after that to see an actual doctor. The surgical team will lie about post op care and when they cause a problem they will just send you to the overcrowded ER to wait for hours with no care or after thought for their patients. Do not go here unless you want to feel like you don t matter and want to wait HOURS AND HOURS for inadequate care.

I can never thank them enough for the end of life care they gave my partner during her final month of her life in their hospital and saving my life several times from rural hospitals that dismissed my ER visits, literaly pushing me to their curb. Leaving me no choice but to cautiously drive quite a ways here, and receive the treatment I needed instantly and the rural ones ignored.

I had to continuously ask for updates on my care and they always seemed unsure of what they were saying. Once I was discharged I didn t receive proper aftercare instructions or felt like my issues were addressed. I will not be using BSW and will be sure to not recommended to anyone.

My son was brought in by ambulance for severe chest and abdominal pain, and vomiting blood. He came from the ambulance bay, had his vitals taken and then wheeled out into the waiting room and just left there. They did not call to see if had family or anyone there. After sitting there for at least an hour and him screaming in pain, he finally got down on the floor curled up in a ball, they moved us to another waiting area and we sat there for another hour. We were then taken back to ER and put in the hall in a chair. We stayed there for another hour and a half. I had no way to call nurse, and when he was still screaming in pain I had to walk the halls looking for a nurse to see about getting him something for pain. 5 nurses and all said they would let his nurse know, but no one ever came over. After yelling in the halls that he was vomiting blood, finally someone came over. This was the first assessment he had since he had been there. They started an IV, and then because I was demanding a doctor to come over they got one and it was determined my son needed emergency surgery for a perferated stomach. 5 and half hours later the nursing supervisor came over and said he should have never been put in the hall and should have been in a room on monitors and had an assessment right away. He was in surgery 2 hours, this is unexcusable!!! Avoid this hospital at all costs, it could cost you your life.

My family have been patients at Scott and White for over 20 years. Their doctors and nurses have always been wonderful and they still are, but the administration has gotten rotten. Nearly impossible to get a sick visit with your own doctor and since the portal is useless in this case, one must call to make an appointment!! No way to get an itemized receipt using the portal for pre-paid visits!! No way to get in contact with the doctor you have seen to get a sick note for school. Again, the portal is useless: two days and three phone calls later, still no note. What a horrible, horrible customer experience this has become! Now, I am anticipating some automated message that this feedback is being taken seriously. Shame.

I have had family stay there on more than one occasion and I would like to see more whole foods and less processed foods. It is a huge hospital, and it does get challenging to get fast help or quick answers by medical professionals. Overall, it is a good hospital. I hope my readers never have to be sick though. I really wish I could give this hospital 0 stars. Where do I even began, Since my mother moved here years ago I learned that this was a bad move for her and her condition since the doctors/ hospitals are the worst Ive ever seen. coming from Houston with amazing doctors , Im disgusted. she initially came a week and half ago because she felt terrible after Covid (she also has severe multiple sclerosis) and she was sent home. She cam bak two days later and they admitted her because she happened to be running a 103 fever at the moment they checked it after sitting in the waiting room for 7 hours. as soon as she got into the ER room I let the nurses know that she needs to be lifted into the bed , out of the wheelchair because she cant do it on her own, and she just stood there looking around like she didnt know how that was going to happen. Of course I help my mom into the bed. After being in the ER room until 5 am the next day she was transferred to an actual room. The first experience we had with the nurses was great, I believe her name was Jenna , She was very attentive and check on my mom like she was supposed to. the next was becky, She was absolutely the rudest hospital person Ive ever, experienced. She walked in with a very passive aggressive attitude with both my mom and I. With my mom feeling so bad this immediately upset me. I spoke with the manager Norma about the whole experience but as days went by I quickly learned that there is no use in this. I havent been able to trust them with my mother alone and have had to take off of work for a week so far. The nurses are supposed to go into the rooms once an hour on their own , we do not see nurses unless we call for them, and when we call they take FOREVER. today she has not been given any lunch , (no explanation for it) and she didnt receive her dinner until I called at 6:25 asking where it was at. I could go on and on, but do I really need to ? This is just the inpatient experience, dont get me started on the outpatient. WORST BUSINESS EVER. Since then, she has had a follow up appointment and learned that while she was in the hospital, she had coronary artery disease and pneumonia. They never told her we were shocked after she got out of the hospital.

Unfortunately he was like that with some other patients too. We asked to call a doctor and Izzy decided that he was going to attend my father. When we left the clinic we had to go to another hospital because my father needed real medical attention. Never go there if you appreciate your health. Unfortunately there are employees like the nurse we had to deal with.

The people running the pharmacy window need an education and how to be polite and truthful the line was very long we waited and brought them are prescription they told us it would be ready in 20 minutes and that I would need to either go to the back of the line or come to the front of the window on foot again I literally said Im not sure if thats a good idea because people may think Im cutting them but the lady said it was okay no words were exchanged no attitude no agitation from me nothing. But then as were waiting those 20 minutes out a public security truck shows up and a security officer cames into their huilding goes inside to the window and it became clear that they called her up there for me because when I came back to the window I was spoken to like a child and told I could not cut even though I was told I can come back up and pay for the medication and get it which would have taken all of 30 seconds after it was prepared. I do not appreciate being lied to, I will be calling someone supervisor tomorrow guaranteed you have wasted my entire evening while we sit in the car for yet another hour just to come through and paper something that we already went up and gave the prescription for thats ridiculous the medications already thats what we were told no one should have to sit here for over an hour to pick up something and were already in line to get thats ridiculous

White woman comes in sprained ankle basically because shes overweight and the lady in the back that was administering the medications Was like oh let me give you some Tylenol-3 NO QUESTIONS ASKED REALLY!!! My wife gave birth to our first born son here on 11/4/22. The entire experience from admission to release was perfect. Every question and concern we had was answered very promptly and thoroughly. We had to stay an extra day because our son was jaundiced and they had placed him under a blue lamp. We were informed that this is incredibly common, that at least 50% of newborns have to go through this. We had been visited by multiple professionals from lactation consultants to psychiatrists to gauge my wife s mental state postpartum. We never felt rushed our bombarded with information despite everything being brand new to us. The memorable part of the experience was my wife s OB, Dr Delukie, and one of the residents, Abby Cook. Both of them are incredibly kind and professional to the fullest extent of their abilities. We would recommend anybody to give birth here.

Many of the doctors are ignorant drones, hired to fill a seat in an overwhelmed medical facility. Most visits will end the same, without a diagnosis of your illness, without a referral to a competent doctor who has the ability to diagnose your illness. Patient safety is disregarded, and you may be denied proper medical treatment, which is a criminal offense.

My oldest daughter recently had a scheduled c-section delivery. She was sent home 24 hrs after delivery. Her surgeon called 48 hrs after delivery to ask where she was - he had not been informed that she was discharged. My daughter struggled at home for several days with back pain, swelling, fluid retention, and finally, upon awakening one morning and being unable to breathe, she was taken back to the ER. My daughter was diagnosed with post-partum Pre-eclampsia. Horrible diagnosis! Maybe, if the staff had not discharged her so hastily, she might not have had this huge set back. She was kept in the hospital for several days with this diagnosis while her newborn was cared for at home by family. As a healthcare worker, for a large medical system in a different state, I picked up on several warning signs but I wanted to allow my daughter, and her care team, to make their own choices. I would not advise her, or others, to rely on this facility for any future L/D care without having a structured admit/discharge plan clearly laid out.

Baylor Scott and White Emergency Room in Temple does not listen nor comply with their Speakup policy. I told Dr. Marianne Meyers two times I am not comfortable in this pain going home as the Speak up policy states I can speak up, she sent me home anyway after still having a hemorrhagic cyst rupture. Also I stated I didnt want to go home on narcotics ( basically was about to give it before I drove myself home she was, not safe) nor did I want pain meds to be my main plan of care. I wanted to know what I could do during the week because taking narcotic while working wasnt an option. She ran and told the attending physician that I refused the prescription because I didnt want to be an addict. I told her that is not what I said and may I speak to the attending physician (as she kept referring to him as he decided no, even though I never spoke to him), she walked away and said I actually have real REAL sick patients to care for (as if I just didnt test positive for Covid and have Hemorrhagic cyst excruciating pain), and that she was going to get security for my attitude. I asked her, so am I not allowed to speak up as there is a speak up policy and she said she didnt care. Also she said all my medical information out in the open, in the small waiting area across from triage room 4, which has no privacy. Then security Mr. Chicon came over and asked whats going. I advised him that I was asking questions about the discharge plan that was discussed with me and that I was asking who her attending physician was that she kept referring to. She lied and told the attending that I refused the pain medicine due to not wanting to become an addict and that is not what I said, so I wanted to clarify to the attending. Mr. Chicon told me I can look it up on mychart and if I received my discharge papers. I told him they were discussed with me but I havent signed anything because I am trying to speak up as policy states I have that right and he said take it up with patient relations. Meanwhile, the prior physician/OBGYN stated they were looking in getting a room ready and procedure to remove cyst. If you speakup basically you get escorted out as being disruptive and having COVID/hemorrhagic Cyst doesnt consider you a sick patient per M.D Marianne Meyers at the emergency room.

Not only that, but if you do a video visit, they will charge you clinic fees (which is more than the visit itself despite the fact that you didnt actually go to the clinic and use any services there). Greedy, money hungry corporation that doesnt seem to care at all for the well being of their patients as long as they can get money out of them. The people in the hospital are very nice, and willing to help with directions. Each building is a set of rings with an elevator that connects them. Cross halls connect the buildings. There are the hospital buildings, and then the clinic has the specialists offices. There is a cafeteria and a gift shop, along with coffee carts in some lobbies. The signage isnt as good as in some hospitals, but you can get around fairly well.
