Love that they have different types of burgers and very different ones too. Love the vibe but the burgers themselves were under seasoned it would of been a 5 start if the burgers just had some salt and pepper on it. The fries had more seasoning than the burgers themselves. A smidgen pricy too.

Date night. We needed to find something nearby and we have always wondered about Bird Creek Brewing. The area is under construction around the building and will be really nice when finished. But, overall a very pleasant atmosphere. You are asked to place you order at a kiosk upon walking in. This does affect the service score as I prefer to hear recommendations from the server and ask questions. One of those questions was, When I order a drink, is there a place to get a cup? After sitting and pondering awhile, I just went and asked the hostess. We ordered a classic hamburger with truffle fries and a fried green tomato BLT with garlic fries. The garlic fries were soggy but outstanding while truffle fries were crispy and solid. I would have trouble turning down either one in the future. The burger looked beautiful but was cooked to requested temperature, underseasoned and not really noteworthy. Our expectations of the fried green tomato BLT may have been too high but it was a decent dish. If we come back, we will definitely try to grab a server or hostess to ask about the menu before ordering. But, from terrific presentation to an inviting atmosphere, I believe they are really trying to make a good product here. I hold out hope that our experience isnt a normal.

Delicious food that exceeds the price point generous portions were huge chunks of cod on fish and chips plate what general portions of deliciously seasoned fries! They turned the mushroom burger into a chicken burger for me at my request. I highly recommend this place for delicious Grub and delicious craft brews if youre in Temple! I seem to only review when a place is great or terrible. This place is great. Been here in winter and summer. Im in Temple twice a year and now always stop here. Food is outstanding. The servers are helpful and happy. Great beers brewed here! Wine available as well. The place has both indoor and outdoor seating. Ive been here with live music and trivia. I cant imagine youd be disappointed after visiting here.

Incredible food. We had the southwest burger. Cooked to perfection as requested, topped with yummy guacamole, tomato, lettuce, etc. The second best burger Ive ever eaten. The fries were good, but nothing special. Their fried green tomatoes are great. The only downside is that its pricy. Yet, Ill gladly visit again. Its definitely worth it. Its a lot of food, so go hungry. They offer a lot of other items, I havent tried any of them. However, if they are any near a good as the burger, theyll be great. Birdcreek is now a brewery, but I dont drink alcohol, so I cant comment on the brew. But others seem to think its great.

I hate to be that person but their chili doesn t taste like chili at all. It basically consists of just meat and a few diced tomatoes here and there with some little seasoning. I found the chili to be very underwhelming and to be perfectly honest, it was very bland. It didn t have the consistency of normal chili either, it had absolutely no broth, just fat from the cooked meat. The chili was practically just cooked ground beef. And the sourdough side that is advertised on the menu isn t actually sour dough, it s just plain regular white bread. Which I didn t have too much of a problem with since you can never go wrong with white bread. It was just really disappointing to be paying a really high price for the most bland and underwhelming chili ever. Other than that the customer service was great, the restaurant is very clean and modern. live music is performed which is great for a little dinner with friends. But from my own experiences and that of others, the food and some dishes on their menu could definitely use some improvements.

**Birds Creek Brewing is an absolute gem!** The beer they brew is nothing short of exceptional each sip is a testament to their craft. Whether youre a fan of IPAs, stouts, or anything in between, youll find something to love here. I was particularly impressed by their Gorilla Migration, which had the perfect balance of flavors. To top it all off, the service is outstanding. Cailyn, the bartender, made the experience even better. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about the beer. Her recommendations were spot on, and she made sure we were well taken care of throughout our visit. If youre looking for a place with fantastic brews and even better service, Birds Creek Brewing is the spot!

We were there Friday 23rd Aug for an 80s rock band. Very good music but there were 5 young children running around the band area room for over an hour wreaking havoc. Parents obviously didnt care and didnt control their children. I thought the establishment would have said something to them since they were running and climbing and disturbing all the other patrons but they did not so we left.

Found this gem while passing through Temple on our way back to Houston from Lubbock. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars overall is that they dont do flights. Limited myself to 2 half pours and got some to go. Cruise Control and DH Pilsner were spot on tasty. Food was also better than I anticipated. My hot dog was great and my wife loved her burger. We will be back. More enjoyable than fighting the crowds at the big beaver.

This restaurant is a homely hybrid indoor-outdoor self-service tavern with a craft bar. The experience is very casual with 3 kiosks in front where you place your order. The food is rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked! I recommend the cheese curds 5/5. Think crispy and buttery cheese bites, delicious! I recommend the western burger and southwestern burgers! The fries are served with cracked salt and pepper. The truffle fries are full of cheesy, earthy flavor goodness. I do NOT recommend the brussel sprouts 1/5 - they were undercooked with too much balsamic vinagrette. There are board games in the front to play. The bartender is super friendly and knowledgeable! A menu of custom drafts are organized by alcohol and bitterness (ibu) content. Dont be shy to ask for a small sample! The biggest downsides are self service and separate tabs. The bartender and food ordering results in two different checks. The food bill also asks you to tip before the food. Food is also a little pricey at about 15 dollars a plate but portions are generous! Other than that, a great place to put down some roots, rest your feet, drink, and chill! Food - 5/5 (except the brussel sprouts) Atmosphere - 5/5 board games and hybrid indoor outdoor Value - 3/5 Service - 3/5 Vegetarian options: They are able to customize your order to your liking and preference. Dietary restrictions: They are able to customize your order to your liking and preference. Kid-friendliness: Friendly for kids with board games! Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible but the road outside is gravel filled

Buffalo wild wings has better burgers. Beer is just ok and costs too much for the amount given. No waiters, you order through a kiosk and get your own drinks. Bar is separate from food ordering. No frozen drinks machines, like margaritas or daiquiris. Hip concept for hipsters looking to be seen, falls short of all hype Temple seems to give downtown space occupiers.

My wife and I went last Sunday. When coming in we were immediately impressed by the atmosphere. Clean, open, modern and Texas! Loved it! Things kind of went down hill from there.ot was our first time and we ordered on the self serve kiosk. Nobody explained the menu to us or helped us thru the order. The kiosk broke down and it took 10 minutes for anyone to ask if we were ok. Plenty of the staff working looked at us and went about their afternoon until finally we had to go find someone and they had to restart the kiosk. The young lady that did help graciously transfered our order & processed our payment. Food: I ordered the Bison Chilli burger w/ fries and my wife ordered Avocado Toast. The burger was spectacular. Definitely would eat that twice a week until I die. The fries were fry chips and they were cold and stiff when I got them. I asked for another serving and I got them after I had eaten my burger. As for the avocado toast, it was just pan toasted sourdough bread with avocado and tomatoes and cheese. Tasty but avocado toast is not my thing. Wife enjoyed it. Overall, I would give this place another shot. Seems like they were a bit off their game.

Got a new Temple favorite! As my normal readers know, I m not going to miss out on the chance to try out a burger and hand cut fries. I was not disappointed. The Wildcat burger was amazing! Split one with my wife. Wonderful, mouth-watering flavor, and the slaw was a different, but nice addition. The included hand-cut fries won me over at first bite. I would say that I could make a meal out of them, by themselves. But, in a way, I did, but smothered in chili and cheese. The chili-cheese fries were different than any I d ever had, and I d be hard-pressed to remember any I d enjoyed more. And, it s way bigger an order than the picture shows. Then there were the fried cheese curds(my wife s idea). I thought she d blew a gasket. When it was all said and done, we almost had a fist to cuff over the last one. As much as I hate to admit it, she s pretty good about picking out of the ordinary dishes. But hey! I m pretty good, too! I did pick the spot .

We stopped here while otw to Kirville. If you have never been here, you will order as soon as you walk in. The interesting thing about their order process is that you are asked to tip before getting sat down and knowing how your service will be. The overall impression on the food was a 6/10. The shrimp on the salad was not cooked and had no garlic (was requested). The spicy chicken sandwich was mid level at best. We did not have a server, We had a food runner. Not a single person visited the table after the food was delivered. And, its not busy, we dined here between 2:00 - 3:00. Hence the weird tipping option... If you are in the area, I would skip this one and dine somewhere else. Parking: Currently, there is construction in the area, and parking is a nightmare.

UPDATE 6.3.24 They relocated to a larger venue and Im really impressed with the upgrades. The metal, wood and cement design fit the improved atmosphere of this restaurant. As a brewery theyve expanded indoor seating, added an entire bar counter, lots of extra outdoor patio seating, and live music. I love how theres a roll up window in the bar area so customers can order drinks as well from the outdoor patio. An interesting feature in their patio area is they have these attached swivel seats with arms. Weve always enjoyed their food. Its what Id call a good fix. Take a look at some pictures for an appetizing feast with your eyes. Food is ordered through kiosks at the entrance. Good idea, and this method trending in many restaurants. I wish I had the opp to hangout once more to try their beers on tap. While I cant cease that moment, this place will surely be on my list if I ever return to TX. Great job guys on the comeback! Pros: some of the best current IPAs per the Texas Brewers Guild, among in-fashion styles, e.g., hazy IPAs. Food was generally solid, but the ordering strategy was weirdly unpleasant. Cons: above-average price point for Temple; the goal is obviously to minimize staff (self-service kiosks), but the staff then didnt know what they were doing. Parking: Free on the street, but not many spaces. Kid-friendliness: Loved it. And you can always grab more without much of a kiosk line.

It was about $50+tip for just my husband and I. Like I said, the burger was great, so I dont mind the price, but its ridiculous to ask for a tip when you charge those prices, and I have to do everything myself. Also there was only 1 drink station. I cant imagine how long the wait would be to get a drink on a busy night.

UPDATED REVIEW: This used to be our favorite brunch place in the area and we came almost every weekend for the Texas poutine. Since they moved they have completely scrapped the menu and replaced it with boring and meh food. Prices have increased, quality and service have decreased (everything is now essentially serve yourself). We loved that their old menu was unique and you couldnt go wrong. We are so sad that we lost our favorite brunch spot :( OLD REVIEW: This is one of our favorite brunch spots in the area! We have always been able to come and sit quickly, with prompt service and delicious food. Our favorites are the texas poutine and benedict cumberhash, but we have tried many menu items and never been disappointed. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area!

First time there and wanted to go list. I was not disappointed. A new item was put on the menu, chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and salad. Fantastic is the only way I can describe the meal. Service was great by all the staff. I was surprised when the chef brought me the meal himself and even checked on me during my meal. Very clean and nice atmosphere surroundings. I also ordered some fried green tomatoes along with, of course, beignets to take home. Thought I was home again. I will be going back again. s . Update: 16 March, 2024. All has changed. They moved from the old bldg to 4th Street close to the police dept. WOW!!! Its beautiful. All modernized and a beautiful covered patio. Screens all around to watch sports too. The staff is wonderful. The food is out of this world--Fantastic. s rating plus . I highly recommend this place to all. Parking: Due to the downtown construction, parking is spotty. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy entry but due to construction in area, you have to pick your spot to park

The newly opened Bird Creek Brewing Restaurant in downtown Temple, Texas, is quickly becoming a culinary hotspot, famed especially for its delicious shrimp and grits dish. Situated in the heart of the city, this establishment merges a vibrant atmosphere with exceptional dining, making it a must-visit for both locals and travelers. However, my recent visit during the bustling first Friday monthly event led to a two-hour wait, a testament to the restaurants popularity and the communitys enthusiasm for such gatherings. For those eager to indulge in the flavors of Bird Creek without the lengthy wait, I highly recommend arriving early to secure a seat. The experience is well worth the planning, as the restaurant offers not just mouth-watering dishes but also a unique blend of culture and camaraderie that defines downtown Temple.

The fish and chips were absolutely delicious, as were the garlic fries. Truffle fries, too! Fried green tomatoes and the dipping sauce were something to write home about. Equalling those items was their award-winning beer. I got the Lamborghini Truck and it was so good, like the best beer Ive ever had (said with a serious face). As soon as they serve it to you, you can smell the fruity citrus coming from the glass. Its made with grapefruit. That said if you dont like grapefruit, youll probably love this beer anyway because it smells so fresh, crisp, sweet(ish) and full. It doesnt necessarily taste like grapefruit or a head full of lemons or whatever, just great beer. I dont know all the beer words to use. I suggest trying it. I sampled my dining companions beer and it was very good, too. You likely cant go wrong if you order whats on the board or whats on tap.

Got a new place and let it go to your head smh. Its not homey/ intimate as it was at the original location. The girls working are inattentive. Nobody told us we had to scan the napkin dispenser for a menu and then use a computer in the front to place our orders. Nobody told us where to find drink cups. I walked up to the bar where an employee was leaned up drinking her drink. She looked right at me and ignored me. So I asked if anyone was working to which that girl told another girl that she could deal with me. I just wanted to know where to find my cup. My order was over $60 for 3 meals and 3 drinks and then the machine asked if I wanted to tip. Well heck yeah I want to tip but I sure didnt because I did all the work. Ill stay and eat tonight because its late and I was excited to try the new location. My favorite sandwiches have been removed from the menu and that just made it suck even more. Wont be back. Service sucked. Menu options not great and pretty basic. Should have never changed a good thing. I wrote this review while waiting for my meal. I have now eaten and Im adding to this because I could have gotten a much better burger with way more flavor off the dollar menu at McDonalds. Where is the salt and pepper..... Not on the burger.... Not on the table.... Where yall hiding the seasoning?? Spent way too much money for my medium well burger to still be bleeding all over my plate. If this is the quality Temple demands then I will be looking outside of temple for a new burger place. Smh thanks for making me love yall then tricking me. lots of 1 star reviews with alot of the same complaints. I sure hope yall do something about this. Beer wont save the day every time. Get some better employees that actually want to work while youre at it. Parking: There are like maybe 10 spaces. Had to park at the annex. Hopefully my car doesnt get towed

TLDR: The old location was much better quality and an overall much better experience. This new location feels sterile and unwelcoming unlike the old one. I hope it can return to a good place to go. Bird creek burger co. used to be my favorite place to eat when I was in town. I decided to go the other day and found out about the new location, I was excited for the bigger area and was hopeful. Unfortunately it is not even close to the same place. The menu is entirely different, with a lot of the burgers that I loved no longer being available. But that would have been okay if the food had been good, but the quality is much lower than the original restaurant. I got the cheese curds, a must a the old location, but something felt different, possibly a different recipe but just disappointing. However, the most frustrating aspect was the complete lack of servers, now you only order at a tablet and someone brings the food out to you. However it seems they don t know how to time anything as the appetizer came out at the same time as my main dish. Such a complete disappointment, I still have hope for improvement but I don t know if this place will ever match its predecessor.

My husband and I were very disappointed when walking into Birdcreek after the remodel. Our favorite dish was the Eggs Benedict and the new version was a big disappointment... drowned in hollandaise sauce with mashed avocado and a warm tomato slice was not what I was expecting, not to mention the bed of sweet potatoes and scallions was non existent. The option was some diced potatoes but they were drowned in salt as well. I guess their primary focus on being a local brewery over a restaurant?!?! Coffee is now self serve in a Styrofoam cup, as opposed to a coffee mug. So much for a brunch atmosphere..... Good Luck to you, Bird Creek, with the redesign... youve lost a long time client.

We decided to try out the new location of course, cause we love bird creek burgers. Honestly though, if you re coming from there expecting the same, just don t. Of course with brewing in the name instead of burger you d know it was more bar related, which is fine but you think considering what they were doing before would be taken into account. The menu was missing some of our favorites items, both burgers ordered were supposed to come with bacon & neither did. Trying to find someone to fix it besides the bartender had seemed impossible. We ended up just assuming they were out since they were out of chili too. Their garlic parm fries used to be my absolute favorite, but the recipe has changed and about half my fries were so hard and overcooked I couldn t even eat them. Besides someone bringing out our food and telling us they were out of the appetizer, there was no other service provided. Will maybe give it another chance just because Birdcreek used to have our favorite burgers, but just highly disappointed overall from this visit.

No sign, no pleasantries. Just you can t eat here. They stank like weed and were far from sober. This is the last straw. I am so disgusted by what our small town burger joint has become. It s turned charm into commercialism. It s turned from family friendly into a seedy bar. I ll go to Thai Cafe or this new place called Las Marias. Sorry Jacob, we tried twice.

The facilities at the new location are very nice, especially the covered outside area with standing and seated options, small stage for entertainment, heaters. Nice sit up bar and table areas inside. The draft options we sampled were excellent. The food at our table was variable; the cod in the fish n chips was excellent (fresh, flaky), the arugula salad was lacking with mostly arugula and shrimp (extra), and the chili was average. Several were disappointed that theres no longer a veggie burger on the menu. Vegetarian options: No veggie option on the featured burger menu; it would be great to see the in-house veggie burger return!

So disappointed in this new scene at Bird Creek. We used to drive all the time from Jarrell just to eat the burgers here. We loved the old environment. It was a great menu and great atmosphere. It was the only burger place I ever recommended in Temple. Its been a several months since weve gone and this a past weekend was really craving them so we drove 20 mins and went to the old location before we were told it moved. We was excited for the new place til we seen the setup. Its no longer the atmosphere of a great eating place and is now focused on being a bar/brewery before food. Some of our favorite burgers have been removed. In fact the menu changed to have the feel of it being more of bar food instead of a great burger restaurant. The weekend brunch had been changed to only on Sundays which was the deciding factor for us to walk out and leave. We drove specifically for the Breakfast burger just to be told its no longer served brunch on Saturday. I dont know if the business was sold out or what, but for us, the new bar focused environment, ordering at a self serve kiosk and set up is not our vibe. It doesnt have that family oriented feel we grew to love. In fact, if I recall, they no longer have the old pictures and decor on the walls the way the old place was. Sadly the environment is no longer for us and we have decided to eat elsewhere when in town. I dont want to feel like Im eating at bar and this is what Bird Creek has now turned into.

Theres not enough great things I could say about this place! Truly, the food was fantastic, the beer was nice, Im not big on beer, so I cant add much beyond I found a couple I really enjoyed! The service was great. However, its important to note that theres no servers per se; you order when you walk in at the kiosks ahead then pick your own seating. You also cant make any special requests on the kiosks, so you have to get an employee so you can tell them any requests for your food. The staff are incredibly personable, easy to talk to, helpful and just happy in their roles. I would 100% recommend giving this place a try, I drove 2 hours to eat here and wasnt disappointed at all! The fish and chips were delicious and the sweet potato fries were great even the next day when I reheated them (in the oven) at home. Bravo Bird Creek! Food was good, not great. Experience was awful. We waited over a hour and forty-five minutes for our dinner tonight. About a hour into our wait an employee came by and asked if we needed anything. I asked her if she knew how much longer our food would be. She said she would go check and come back to let us know. When she came back she said she didn t know how much longer it would be, but we could have a free beer. We weren t drinking. About 20 min later she returned and offered us a free carrot cake, we declined and she said she would go see how many more orders of front of ours. At this time we asked that our meal be packaged to go. She never returned and our food was out 15 min later. When we got into the car to head home we started eating our food. The chicken sandwich was good, but the hamburger we ordered was barely warm. We ate at the previous location a handful of times and always enjoyed it. This trip wasn t what we expected.
