Stopped by on the way to Colorado and the timing was right for a lunchtime stop. Great food, service and a breeze to keep us cool as we sat on the patio. Sliced beef sandwich was moist and filling. Be sure to drive around back. You ll be glad you did.

The Hunicutts are all Veterans and they terrific people. The BBQ is behind the bar and is only open from Thursday to Sunday. Im not sure about the hours but the Pit master is just that, a Master indeed. I always visit when driving from Abilene to Temple TX! Food

I had the opportunity to try Texas Smokehaus BBQ on Airport Rd in Temple after an appointment before heading back to Killeen to go back to work at Amplify Hive. They were both so kind and helpful. I ordered a brisket plate with potato salad and beans. I loved the tangy bbq sauce on the really tender meat. The potato salad was just right and the beans with the meat in it were a smokey flavor too. Was priced really well and I thought the umbrella covered picnic table seating was great. It was daytime so I didnt go into Honeycutts Bar next door but I learned its been around for almost 70 years. Pretty cool! Parking: Regular gravel lot.

GREAT! Another one I cant really give a good review on based on food or service. Theyve failed before I even get in the door. ONLY open 3 days a week. The food business is a 7 day a week business because thats the number of days every week that people eat. If you dont want to work except when it suits you, then the food business is not for you. Perhaps a job renting out boats on the lake would be more appropriate for a person who only wants to work weekends. When a restaurant owner doesnt even know this much about the business hes chosen, how can I trust you know anything about good customer service or even cooking food? If you only get one chance to make a FIRST impression, youre seriously not making a good one with this attitude about your work schedule.

Got a chopped brisket sandwich which I couldn t even eat because it was all fat. Seemed like the brisket hadn t even been trimmed and there was no smoke ring just grey meat. Had to throw the sandwich away. May have been an off day but I ve never thrown away a brisket sandwich before in my life.

Really good bbq! Today was my third visit. I got a 1/2 chicken with sides and a drink. The chicken is moist, tender and flavorful with a light smokiness and not too much salt. Sides are on point too. Service is excellent, plumb neighborly. Will definitely continue my patronage here. Kid-friendliness: Laid back outdoor dining. Id take my grandkids there

Absolutely the best BBQ I have ever had. The brisket was as tender as they come, the ribs were sooo good, and the regular sausage was amazing. This place will always be my go to for BBQ.

The BBQ ribs were fantastic! Drove in from Missouri today and it was the first restaurant we went to. The potato salad was delicious! Im not sure how they make them but if you are not a mayonnaise or mustard fan, this is the one for you. Corn was the bomb! We plan on going back before leaving town.

We had brisket, sausage, beans, and corn. The brisket was okay it had more fat than I lile and less smoke than many, the sausage was good, the beans were okay nothing special, and the corn was the bomb. Spicy green chilies in the corn. They were out of ribs, Ill try those if I return. The service was good and prices were fair.....oh I dont recommend their sauce. Very vinegary. I used my own.

Came up from North Carolina for a graduation and looking for a local BBQ place came across the best BBQ Brisket. Potato salad was delicious, as I am very picky as I will only eat my mamas. They were very friendly people. Some of the best Customer service!

First time here. Sorta hidden off the highway but use the yellow signs for guidance. Most of the gems are hard to find anyways, right? Great service, gentleman that helped me was extremely welcoming and nice. Ordered the I35 pileup. Very good, nice flavors and I could taste the freshness. The pico had nice color and freshness in each bite. If I had to compare this to the trash can plate from somewhere I won t mention . I would pick this every time no doubt. Both are priced about the same, but here there is a lot of flavor in each bite.
