Too bad LA Riv isnt up to par. Now that I know the same obtuse chef owns both I wont return here to support the disrespectful treatment we got at La Riv which is the only reason we ate here. The staff here is definitely less horrendous than La Riv consistency matters Chef culinary & service 101 & you failed, not every chef has a fine dining skill set no shame in being a fry cook if thats all youre decent at.

An underwhelming experience. We don t live near this side of Temple, so this isn t one of our usual spots. But, of all of the times I ve stopped in since they opened, I always order the bangers and mash. I guess it s no longer on the menu and the other options (fried food / salads / burgers) didn t really stand out. We had already ordered happy hour drinks, so opted for appetizers instead. BTW they are not half price during happy hour. The picnic tray (way overpriced) and jalapeño poppers, left us both disappointed (and my husband loves bacon & cheese ). We left hungry after paying $50 for 2 drinks and 2 appetizers with a tip. Vegetarian options: Sandwich and salad Parking: No parking lot, just street parking on a divided road that makes it very difficult for an SUV or truck to turn around.

Came for the fish n chips because of all the positive reviews but boy let me tell you it is not worth it. No flavor in the fish whatsoever or in the batter. My tartar sauce had a piece of left over fish in it . Even with all the lemon and salt the fish was still completely tasteless. Extremely disappointed in a $45 lunch that my daughter wouldn t touch and I couldn t enjoy. Kid-friendliness: No juice or milk but does have a few kid meal staples. My Mac n cheese obsessed child would not eat theirs after the first bite.

this establishment does not have changing tables for small children. Also, all of their high chairs were broken. How can you offer a children s menu if you do not have the basic needs in order for a child to eat at a restaurant? The food is OK but overpriced and there is an automatic 20% gratuity incorporated into every check.

Chose this place as I saw a review that they had the best fish n chips around. Well, not so much. The breading was good, the fish was so bland & flavorless, the fries a little rubbery, hush puppies had good flavor but were undercooked. Waiter was not very attentive and there was only one other table he was waiting on. We did like the atmosphere. May try it again but will try something else. Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of space

The food is absolutely fantastic with chef prepared originals that have fresh and flavorful ingredients. You can certainly taste the difference in quality that is infused in each if the dishes. The perfect blend of a sports bar and fine dining. Staff are equally impressive with energy to be customer centered with knowledge, courtesy, and enthusiasm to please. Need advise from the kitchen... ask for John the kitchen manager... need advise from the servers, ask for Lexi. They are the best! Also...when it comes to desert...the Cheesecake Factory needs to watch out because their cheesecake is one of a kind, homemade, and is simply unmatched. This place gets 5 stars and will be one of our go to restaurants in the Bell County area.

Came in at 4:45 pm on a Sunday, not very busy(mostly dead). Hostess sat us promptly and the usual A server will be over soon. She leaves and thats the last person we interacted with aside from a group who was sat at the booth behind us who noticed we hadnt been attended to because they were waiting so long for their drinks order. After 30 mins of no one we just left and again, no one noticed. Seriously? I noticed a woman across behind the bar just leaning and talking to an employee but seemed to not care that we were sat there. Your loss I guess.

From a dry atmosphere, to a dry server, with zero personality, to a bartender asking us how to make their specialty drink on their menu, to telling us, this is what we do have on the menu upon sitting down...yes, they ran out of stuff per a big event the day before. I say, post this on your door or close your doors and replenish, so you never say NO to a customer. #moveon Not returning again... every time is inconsistent.

Dear Future Guest and Possible Applicants, Please be Wary and Heed my words as I hope they add value to your Interpretation on 3 West I currently was recently hired here as a server and am using this review to say. . . I m quitting, effective immediately. The OG staff that are at 3 west( some but unfortunately most) hold very unwelcoming energy and do not hold a willingness to elude to proper respect, courtesy, and/or show they have the plain ability to verbally communicate with others on staff AND new colleagues. There is no way management should be okay with over staffing servers to the point many are only making 5-6 dollars an hour. There is also No Way the Shift Manager should have issues verbally explaining and communicating to NEW STAFF how she d expect/like the restaurant to be closed. She s also very unenthusiased and not knowledgeable of important manager stuff I also can t fathom a single reason as to why The Lead Host is able to leave shift ( without explaining Seating rotation to all Servers or the Lead Manager taking her position ) to put on an apron and chef it up in the kitchen the organization of 3 West lacks astronomically and hinders the FEW good employees they have. I also don t see how it s fair for a manager to ask ME to stop serving during the middle of A Rush to Begin Sidework while Not being Cut from the Floor while All Other Servers Continue to take tables AND when there s a WHOLE HOUR AFTER the kitchen closes where the bar remains open for servers to do loose side works and then for Her let a closing server leave Without doing Any Sidework to help anyone else on the Team. Thanks Koellie! Your management rocks The sense that makes is Zero. Also- I find it completely inappropriate that a Peer Server is allowed to hold disgruntled energy and give looks of Distain to fellow members who she isn t fond of. First Lesson of Human decency, if someone waves goodbye when you make eye contact you typically wave back not stare at them for 2 seconds then flick your head away. A lot of the staff are just rude to each other and don t respect people as individuals I find 3 West very inappropriately managed and that it lacks the backbones of Basic Human Communication which is important to Moral Integrity and Interaction between staff Also it s very easy to ask who is Still Drinking from A drink. I brought in a Mint Coconut Cream and Coconut Milk Latte to remain energized after working a full shift from my other job that was FULL - and came back to it trashed without anyone asking if I was finished with it. Rude, rude and inconsiderate, the lack of humility is insulting. Y all owe me 10 dollars I have served in High Volume Restaurants for over 2 years and I can Confidently say that 3 West tops the cake of the Worst Managed Restaurant in America. My oh my, I hope y all do better- Please start by CARING how much your servers are making. $5 an hour? Have a little compassion and understand that the most yall probably need in one shift is 3-4 people. And even saying 4 is reaching because y all are always BEYOND SLOW AND NEVER HAVE A WAIT Overall 3 West has very good food, a VERY VERY GOOD KITCHEN but terrible terrible management- the front of house needs some work. I love serving and appreciate making people at my table happy but I can t degrade myself by accepting such poor treatment from peers and staff when I ve tried my best to be malleable, perceptible, and friendly. And it would hurt my heart to not share my terrible 2 weeks here with the public. Genuinely, I hope this is helpful. Please reconsider applying if you thinking of doing so but go in for a lunch or dinner the food fr fr is bomb - Chow Chow Now

This place is where I now go to hit chill mode. Im still kinda new to Temple and I recently had to start going to a chiropractor... just so happens mine was located across from Ale House. I have a nack for sniffing out small bars and pubs, and I hit the jackpot. When I first came in it was a very relaxed atmosphere. So far all the staff has been awsome. The crowd here is kind and fun people generally, theyre really great. The selection of beers is broad, and theyre high quality brews too. The food so far has been very, very good! The prices seem right for what youre getting, and Ive never walked away dissatisfied. Theres always a special, theres trivia on Thursday, the music is diverse and likeable by most anyone, the bar and tables stay clean, the decor is relaxing, and the bathrooms stay clean. I never give 5 stars, but this one deserves it. Come in, sit down, grab a brew and some food. Talk to a stranger, watch football, play trivia! Just enjoy yourself.

This was my second time trying this place and the staff is sweet but the food both times was nothing to rave about. The first time by the time it got to me it was cold, the 2nd time it was barely luke warm. My appetizer was hot but the rest was barely warm. My friends had asked to have theirs warmed up and the waitress actually stuck her finger in the food to test the temperature at the table. Now granted it took about 20 mins to get the food the first time but then when it was requested to get remade after the finger incident it came back with the same tray of food microwaved and like peppers and onions added to the top as if remade. I m sorry but I have it 2 try s and now I m good.

Dont order any type of burger unless you want it completely well done. Side of fries were not worth the additional $6 for being underseasoned, except for a ton of salt. Service quality was ok, but would have been more understandable it they were actually busy. Everything was overpriced for the quality with perhaps exception to the nachos. Best thing about eating here was the dog agility competition on one of the TVs. Probably wouldnt come here again soon.

Another update! They wouldn t let a group of folks hang at the bar because they had a child with them. Bartender had no clue it s totally legal in Texas to have a child at the bar. This was 4:30 on a Monday and no one was in there. This would be a new (surprise!) bartender because they can t keep anyone. Went in 3 weeks ago, ordered a beer, beer was handed to me in a normal glass. Went in today, ordered the same beer and it was given to me in a small glass. I inquired and was told sorry honey I was told to serve them in the small glass now. Paid the same price for less beer. Great idea! Especially when no one goes there in the first place. Get it together. Update- it wasn t a double IPA it was a normal IPA. You have new staff every week and this bartender wasn t new at all.

3 West offers a nice patio area that we were able to bring our furry friend. The nice part is that theres a door close to the patio so that you wont be walking through the restaurant for more than a few feet to get to the patio. We enjoyed the meat and cheese tray. The tray offered two thick cut pieces of bread, buttered and toasted like an airy Italian bread should be. The mustard was a very course ground type that was not easily dippable or spreadable. It had a lovely flavor. 3 different meats and cheeses were offered along with oil brined olives (I believe). The candied bacon was lovely. The sliced salami was tasty. The sausages were cooked and ok. There was what I believe is cubed cheddar, dry and mildly flavorful. The white cube cheese seemed like maybe a dill havarti which was quite tasty. And the round wedge slices were creamy and smooth with a lovely mild flavor. We enjoyed them the best. The servers were lovely. We were greeted with warm smiles and kind voices. The bartender had to run out and pet the pooch and offer him treats. Big dog fan. Our server offered the right amount of attention, being there just as we needed, no more, no less. This feels like a little more upscale type of place, and we spent the same here for 4 cocktails and an appetizer as did that night for two Italian dinners, an appetizer and a tea. No complaints, just an observation. If we lived in Temple, this would be a hangout for the hubby and his furry buddy.

Grilled cheese and (supposedly) a new batch of soup was cold to the touch this place truly keeps getting worse and worse.

Small grill and bar, cozy and nice. I enjoyed the staff and atmosphere. The avacado blt was really good. I look forward to trying more things. Update, the magic mushroom burger is amazing! I had the Alehouse burger today and was not impressed. It was very small and the flavor did not impress. We were not able to substitute our side today, never had a problem until today. So the BLT came with a side salad that has no dressing and is very bitter. Usually I change it for the grilled Asparagus, which is very good, but not worth the $6 you have to pay for it. There are only 5 pieces of Asparagus. Had the Not Yo Mamas Grilled Cheese. Very good! Had Basil tomato soup with it. My daughter had the chicken fried steak, very small for the price but great taste.

Its been a while since Ive been to 3West, and its not what I remember. While I could complain about the service being slow (it was), the bathroom being out of paper towels (it was), our table not being stocked with basics like paper towels and water glasses (it wasnt) - the real bummer was that the food sucked. We got the pretzel w/cheese to start and both were barely room-temp. The cheese was thick still. Our food was similarly not-warm (the cheese on my burger hadnt even melted), and we joked that the fries were yesterdays. Its really rare for me to leave a terrible review (you can check my others - I usually review to praise someplace), but this was a real bummer and we probably wont be back.

Pretty bad experience. We ordered 2 beers and the server came back saying the beer my husband ordered was out but came back with a sample of another but couldn t tell him what it was as bartender just said to give it to him. He ordered a different beer. We placed our order for a pretzel, 2 sets of 6 wings, and a burger. I asked what the house sauce was but again server didn t know. She brought me a sample. It was fine. We also ordered 2 sides of fries as they were extra. From the time of ordering to just get the pretzel it was 35 minutes. Our server stopped by 2 times to ask how we were doing. On the second time, I mentioned we were ok but we re wondering where our food was. She then became super apologetic and said the kitchen was backed up. The resturant wasn t even half full. A few minutes later she came back and said actually what happened was their ticket machine had been jammed and they were working on it. So not a great look that she fed us a line. So pretzel came. Clearly frozen that they heated up but fine. Husband ordered another beer. It never came. 1 set of his 6 wings came out. It was another 10 minutes before my burger and fries came out. Still no sight of his other set of wings or fries. I specifically asked for no tomato on my burger but I came with one. Fine, I took it off. The bun was cold. The cheese wasn t fully melted and the burger meat itself was tiny. I ate half the burger because I was super hungry at this point because I didn t have lunch, we waited 44 minutes and it was already 8:20 pm. I realized the caramelized (aka cooked) onions were cold and that was it for me. We asked for our check. Our server got her manager. To her credit, the manager really did the right thing. She apologized and said she was only just told of the problems. She took a couple items off the bill and discounted the whole bill. That was the right thing to do. They offered to package up what we had or give us dessert. We declined. We had great exceptions from this place, but very disappointed. Only staff member who seemed to take her job seriously was the manager. Unfortunately, we will not be back.

Had family in the area so decided to male a trip to visit and thankful to have found such a treasure in the area. Not the most expansive menu, but the food is top-notch. What really sets this place apart was the outstanding service of the staff and the great atmosphere overall. This would definitely be my neighborhood go-to spot if I lived a bit closer. That, along with our delicious meal, has earned them my coveted Certified Mad Good rating. Give yourself a treat and order that mac and cheese, you can thank me later

The atmosphere in this place is good; the menu is a solid selection of pub food. They have a kids menu, which is tongue in cheek. The food doesn t stack up to the price point though, the wings are under seasoned to the point of being bland. We tried both Buffalo and Lemon Pepper; and if it wasn t for the lemon wedge in one tray I would have struggled to tell you which was which. We got an adult and a kids burger. Again bland and disappointing at the price point. The server asked what we wanted the adult burger cooked to and it was underdone. Wasn t asked about the kids and they defaulted to well done and it looked overdone. I probably wouldn t come here for food again given that right next door are two excellent places.

Stopped by with some friends and had a couple drinks and some menu items. All 6 of us were happy with our food and drinks. There was a bit of a wait time for our food and drinks due to being short staffed but our hard working waitress advised our party of this. I feel that the majority of restaurants are dealing with this same issue.

So the beer was good , TVs hard to see with lights hanging in the way . Wait staff would rather stand at bar and watch tv . Did not notice one bite taken from chicken fried steak . Charged for full amount . This place will not make it , at least add salt to anything you cook please . Hire smart employees that can tell when someone dose not like the food . I would not feed my dog what they put on the plates there . Save your money. Try another place . Could be a great place . Too bad employees can t cook or serve tables .

Went for our anniversary dinner but it was terrible. Our waitress was very slow and unorganized. It took 45 minutes to get our food and she brought mine out first and said it was just sitting back there. My husband dish came out about 4 minutes later. I bit into my burger and it was very rare. I ordered it well done. I was so hungry I ate half of it and my cold hard fries. My husband salmon was supposed to be blackened and it wasnt

Went after a UMHB football game and were pleasantly surprised with the food and service. Both were outstanding. We ate small plates-Shrimp Diabla, Artichoke Dip, and Picnic Plate. The shrimp were cooked just right, the candied bacon was good, and the dip was nicely seasoned. The portions were large enough for our dinner. We have went back a second time and it was just as good as the first.

Other guest were very loud, but when they left was pleasant. Will eat here again.

Atmosphere is great, which gets the star. Server desperately needs training. I ordered the half chicken off the menu, he came back and said we dont serve that. Ok...Ill get a burger (menu is very small). Get our food, I ask for a side of mayo....he brings me a side of tartar sauce. Honest mistake, I laugh about it and inform him. He comes back with a ramekin and says here this should be mayo. Nope...that is clearly ranch. I tell him, he apologizes and says they are supposed to be in order in the cooler. Finally after about 5 minutes, I get some mayo. Burger was ok, boyfriend didnt like his pork chops. Never came to check on us. Waited about 15 minutes for my boyfriends beer, finally just waived the guy down asked for the ticket. He went and sat our debit card on the counter and walked away to go talk to a table. Wasnt worth the $60. Probably wont be back.

First time here and the last. Service was super super slow. Server didn t know if they had all the ingredients for multiple things. Told me she couldn t make the drink I wanted. But then came back and said she did have all the ingredients. Which all this took about 20 mins, not to get my drink but just to place my drink order. Thought we were going to enjoy lunch at a relaxed draft house. Logo is green and friendly, walked in and everything was dark and black. No green inside whatsoever but the logo is green? Seemed like this place doesn t know their identity. Literally all the TVs were off. Seemed more like a upscale wing/burger/bar then a relaxed setting. Prices did not match the food. Spinach dip had sooo much garlic in it. Each bite was biting into a garlic clove. My blt club was not good. Bacon had a good flavor but was black and over cooked. So certain bites just tasted burnt. Will not be returning. For lunch it was over $70. Price doesn t matter as long as the service and food makes the price. Bad service, no up selling or recommendations by the server, food was a let down.

We had the Alehouse burger and Fish and chips. The kitchen was a little slow, but both meals were excellent. The fish was light and crispy and tasted great and was not greasy. The burger was a gourmet burger and was very good (better than most in town). The truffle fries were good but would be better with a truffle dip for them. The mixed drinks were pretty good. The paloma was perfect, and the margarita was good. The strawberry gimlet was a little sweet (the usual case for strawberry drinks anywhere). I will have to come back to try other menu items and check out the whiskey-based drinks. This place is unique and better than many restaurants in Temple. If they can focus on and maintain great quality, this restaurant can be successful for the long term.

Small food menu, but great food and beer. This was a new place for me. My first impression was boy do they have a lot of draft beer here when I saw the huge array of beer taps. My next impression was when I really perked up as I saw Coq Au Vin (Chicken in Wine) on the menu. I immediately ordered this along with a glass of Austin Pale Ale. Our waitress, Isa Hefner, brought me a very large bowl with a full 1/2 chicken swimming in the most delicious wine sauce/gravy that I have had in a long time. The chicken was moist and fork-tender, falling off the bones. It accompanied with pearl onions, mushrooms, stewed chunks of potato, as well as a bottom layer of mashed potatoes. I am a foodie and this was one of the best dishes I have had in a restaurant. Absolutely five stars for this dish! It was a bit pricey at $22, but worth every penny of it and I had enough left over for another meal at home. There are cheaper options like fish and chips, which my companions ordered. But, I would not have traded my Coq au Vin for anything.
