Super friendly service! There s better Thai food in Chinatown, Korea town, and westheimer, but taking into consideration the demographics Thai American Bistro caters to, the food was good. I was expecting very Americanized (maybe even mildly seasoned) Thai cuisine and that s exactly what I got. If I m in the area again and craving Thai I ll definitely stop by again. Don t forget to ask for utensils with your to go order otherwise youll be eating with your fingers.

The place is small and they have weird hours, but their Pad Thai and Larb gai are my favorite. Only complaint, a few too many onions in the Larb gai and I wish it came with more lettuce or cabbage. But the flavors great! My favorite Thai place in this area!

I ve tried the pineapple fried rice (extra spicy), basil fried rice (spicy), pad kee mao (spicy) , red and green curry ( spicy), chicken satay, siam wings ( fried chicken), pork and vegetable dumplings, Thia tea, home made peanut brittle, and home made coconut puff pastry. Everything that I have eaten here tastes great. The food is always fresh and authentic. The basil fried rice , (is a must try) , pad kee mao, chicken satay, siam wings, pork and vegetable dumplings, peanut brittle, coconut pastry, and Thai tea are amazing, truly amazing. I have never tasted Thai tea until I tried it here. It s the best tea that I ve ever tasted. I am in love with it. I suggest that you try it out. I m also in love with their basil fried rice and Saim wings. You should try the peanut brittle as well if it is available . Their home made peanut brittle is so good that it s hard not to eat every piece in the container at once. It tastes much better than store bought peanut brittle. I just found out about this restaurant about 3 1/2 weeks ago. I have been coming here every week to get enough food to last me a couple of days. I love Thai food, but couldn t find a restaurant that served food that I actually liked until now.

I don t do many reviews and I hate that I have to leave this one after all the good comments from the Riverstone community about this place. Unfortunately, as I was commenting how good my pad Thai was to my friends, I noticed something weird on my chicken. As I looked closer I noticed there was hair, not only a strand of hair but what looked to look like a BALL of hairs. Looked like what the bottom of a broom looks like. I notified the server about it and she immediately took it to the back to notify the cooks. She came back immediately and said that I would not be paying for my meal. Which I appreciate, HOWEVER I did not like the fact that my friends had to pay for their meal when we ordered the same thing and they all had chicken. The server brought the owner to speak to us, which she apologized and we took her apology but like I told her I did not find it fair for them to pay. Her excuse being that it was cooked separately. Which I don t understand because how could you cook four plates separately that are exactly the same yet they all came out at the same time. Again, I would understand if it was just ONE hair but this seems to be a ball of hairs. The owner mentioned that the cooks wear hair nets but the server was not wearing one and neither was she and they were both constantly walking to the back and to the front with an apron. My advice watch for hair balls!

This was our first time eating here and went based off of the great Reviews. The Reviews were definitely on point because the food here was fantastic! Our order came out just as we ordered and was very tasty with good sized portions. Even my daughter who is a very picky eater finished her plate, Chicken Fried Rice. The Owner even brought us out some complimentary Green Thai Tea which was so good. My wife and I liked it better than the normal Thai Tea. The restaurants dining area wasnt busy because we went kind of late, roughly an hour before closing. Their To-gos however were non-stop the entire time we were there. Thats always a great sign Also since it wasnt too busy the Owner came out and spoke with us for a good 15 minutes, very friendly lady. This is their first restaurant she told us and from the way things are going its going to be around for a while. The spot itself was small, cozy and very clean. That along with the scratch made dishes in a good location and you have the perfect recipe for success! Would we go back? Were already planning our next visit

This is the most unprofessional establishment I ve ever dealt with. We ordered food through DoorDash and paid extra to have the order expedited. When our drive got to the restaurant, he was told the order has already been picked up however, on the app it clearly said our driver is waiting at restaurant. Long story, these idiot ladies gave my order to some random person and are arguing with me over who is right and who is wrong and telling me to place another order! poor driver is caught in the middle of it just waiting. It would help if these idiots knew how to speak proper English and handle customer issues. Arguing is not the way to resolve issues. Another establishment ran by morons. Steer clear folks. This place is a waste of time.

I was able to meet Kate, the owner (based in Northern Thailand), of this amazing authentic establishment. Despite her busy schedule filling the take out orders, she was kind enough to have a conversation with us. (People like myself may be thrown off by the store name) but this place truly reminds me of Thai home cooking! I personally had the green papaya salad + sticky rice and fried chicken - my family and I were blown away by the portion size, sauces, and presentation. We also had the Thai iced tea (authentic), pineapple fried rice, and pad see ew. I hope that more people frequent this establishment because this place is truly one of a kind when the food is freshly made. Looking forward to more visits Highly recommend!

My goodness. It s tough out here in Fort Bend county for lovers of Thai food. After we moved to Mo City from North Houston, we found ourselves without a reliable Thai spot for several years. Enter Thai American. I came for the pad kee mow. And it was phenomenal. But we return - again and again and again - for the green curry. I find myself daydreaming about it. The service is great. They re sweet to our toddler and the kids menu is a big hit with her, especially the stir fried chicken with broccoli. I can t recommend this place enough. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu is great. Staff is kind, patient, accommodating. Love taking the kiddo here.

Though the food is good, I will never go back to this restaurant because of the server. The first couple times I went, my waitress, who is the only waitress they have, tried to select the tip option for me and told me to tip her 18%. I tipped less because of her trying to tell me what to tip her. Tonight I gave the restaurant the last of my business after the same lady brought me the credit card machine and publicly shamed me out loud in front of everyone saying how much Ive tipped in the past and how much I should tip her. Absolutely unreal and unacceptable. This isnt Thailand, learn some American decency.

This opened up near my house and it s become one of my favorite Thai restaurants in all of Houston. First off, I only order to go here, have never dined in. And a quick tip, order about 30 minutes before you want to eat it, they are good but are short staffed and very busy. I usually start off with the green papaya salad, here it comes with fried chicken and sticky rice so you basically get two appetizers for the price of one. The Tom yum here is solid, they pack it with a decent amount of shrimp. As far as the curries go they are all good, but my favorite is red curry with roasted duck, not many Thai places offer duck as a protein option. Crab fried rice is my go to here as well. Super flavorful. As far as noodles, pad Thai and pad kee Mao are delicious. Finally, they are one of only a few places in town that offers Khoa soi. This was a dish I fell in love with in Las Vegas at Lotus of Siam and have been searching for it in Houston. So very happy to see it here. Overall, even if I wasn t near by I d drive to eat here!

This is a small restaurant good for small groups. Service was good. Food came out fairly fast. Ordered the Pad Thai with shrimps, a cup of Tom yum soup, green curry with tofu, and mango with sweet sticky rice for dessert. The Pad Thai was ok. The shrimps were fresh, and the portion was good. However it was missing the lime commonly seen in Pad Thai dishes. Not a big deal. The Tom Yum soup lacked flavors. No sourness but spice level was there. The green curry lacked some flavors too. The mango sticky rice was good. The sticky rice was just a small portion but the flavor was there. The mango was a little tang but it complemented the sweet sticky rice. Overall not very impressed with the quality.

First, the food has been amazing. My husband and I stumbled across this gem a couple weeks ago and decided we wanted to order again, and they did not disappoint. I was really impressed though with the owner, John. They were really busy this evening so my husband had to call a few times to place our to go order. My favorite dessert has been mango sticky rice ever since visiting Thailand, and this order came out a-lot different than my first in color and size. Well, i called a few times and couldn t get anyone so I left a long message about it. To my surprise , within a few minutes i got a call back from the owner, JOHN, who took the time to call and explain the difference in color ( blue vs white) which has to do with a type or flour(flower?) used in the rice and soaker in coconut milk and we discussed the size. He took down my name and told me to ask for him whenever I ordered next. I myself am a business owner and recognize and truly appreciate such great customer service. Even outside of that though, ALL the food we have tried has been REALLY good! this is our new favorite Thai spot. Great job to the owner and team, i give it . Looking forward to our next order!

Ive had food from Thai American Bistro dine in, pick up, and delivered. Its consistently amazing each time. I even tried the papaya salad since its so highly recommended even though its not something I would typically order, it was fantastic. Pad Kee Mao with beef makes me sing with joy, usually get a 3 out of 4 spicy and its quite an enjoyable flavor and heat.

Food was great. Service was superior. This neat little restaurant is doing a great job of looking like they are a hole in the wall, but they definitely arent. I expected pre-fab food (frozen, not freshly prepared), but that is not what they serve. On our visits, their business appeared to mostly be take-out (moderate people coming and going traffic) with only two other tables occupied. Small place: six two-person tables, and two 6-person tables. The star of the show is the food. As usual for most Thai restaurants you can dial the dish heat when you order. Our orders arrived perfectly prepared. Definitely worth the 20+ minute trip from the Richmond area.

Just tried this place. Amazing Thai food, very authentic. Good spice level options. Lady working (saidv she was the owners sister) was extremely nice and friendly. My new go to Thai place, especially being so close (in Riverstone) compared to Thai Cottage. Wife had the Pad Thai, amazing with thin noodles. I had the beef Pad Ka Prao (simple, common thai dish, but surprisingly a lot of restaurants dont carry it), it was on point. Baby girl had fried rice from the kids menu (hefty serving for a toddler). Definitely recommend!!!

Meh, the basil tofu had 4 measly pieces of tofu and lots and lots of eggplant. Had I wanted eggplant - I would ve ordered the basil eggplant. The pad Thai was tasteless, and I did ask for spicy. The reason it s getting a 3 star and not a 1 star is because the pineapple fried rice saved the day! I will stick to Naha Thai! Second review because I decided to give them another try. I ordered tofu pad Thai, and added shrimp for $3, and I asked for it to be spicy. The pad Thai was SWEET and there were exactly 2 pieces of shrimp. Come on!! Tried the pineapple chicken fried rice again. It was amazing the first time and today it was just tasteless and mushy. Not going back EVER.

I never make time to write reviews but am so disappointed i have made time. My kids and I love pad thai and went to this place due to the rating online. I drove 45 mins to get to this place. The taste was nothing to write home about, the chicken smelled bad and tasted wierd, one of my kids hated it so much he threw up. What pisssed me off was i paid $3 for shrimp and got exactly 3 small shrimps not exaggerating. So 1 shrimp is $1? I guess the ratings here are not for the pad thai. I will never eat here again.

The food is delicious. However, pack your patience. My 2 star rating is primarily a reflection of their customer service and not the flavor of the food which, at least for me, is delicious. We have ordered multiple times from the restaurant and if you catch them on a busy day, you will wait for at least 40 minutes to get your food. Unfortunately for us, the last two times we have PRE-ORDERED food via their website for more than one hour ahead of time, our food was still late. The first time 40 minutes, the second time (last night) 47 minutes. We happened to order dinner from grab & go tacos (also busy but had our food on time) for the kids, and while we waited for Thai food, our food was cold and ritas melted. The owner did apologize but his only excuse is that they were busy. I reminded him that he has phone numbers and emails and could minimally CALL people to warn them of the delays. Time is also valuable. waiting for 45 minutes for food ordered HOURS earlier is not ideal customer service. Since its happened twice, I find myself unconvinced that the owner truly strives to make changes to address this. So, hopefully you find them on a not-so-busy night or you have a long, open window of time to wait. Its yummy, but if your time is valuable or tight, you might want to look elsewhere.

Their food was soooo good, even the kids food was amazing and full of flavor. This is not your Thai restaurant where a bunch of stuff is sitting in big hot bowls in the back ready to serve. Everything is made fresh from scratch. The Thai fried rice was the best flavored fried rice I ve tasted. The kids noodles was something I d eat, amazing flavor. I had the Khoa Soi which was amazing, the coconut milk as the base w just enough spice and chicken that falls off the bone! So good! And this is the kind of place where they re always adding new things and special appetizers or dishes.
