Fantastic place for kids and excellent attention to detail. I love the Kidtown area especially. My daughter has visited at 15 months and 18 months and has had a great time both times. Plenty of parking. The place is smaller than the main museum, but we still easily spend 2 hours here. The only thing to add is that the place is very chilly. Dress appropriately.

Its fine to take kids up there it gives them something to do its basically small little stores and stuff to play in not really a museum what I would consider a museum of any kind however the charge to get into this place is definitely not worth it and unaffordable for a family of four to come to.

I been before like 2 times. This last time was not good at all. My 2 kids (6 and 3 year old) were trying to make slime but the helper was just sitting down and would interact with them. I asked if we were making slime and she said they can take this one pointing to a premade slime. I put it in a ziplock but told her my daughter (6 year old) wants to make her own and she process to help my daughter but not friendly at all. Super basic instructions put 1 scoop of this and 3 drops of this and that s it. My daughter was confuse thinking her slime wasn t coming out. We got out. I made a complain to the person at the exit.

Wonderful experience for children and adults! I found myself more immersed in some of the arts and crafts than my little one, lol! Every single area was so neat and clean despite there being so many children and adults around. There really is something for everyone here that will invoke thinking, feeling, problem solving and more. We didnt even get a chance to visit the toddler area, so we will definitely be back for that. And Kidtropolis is so one of a kind and unique. What a blast! This place is definitely worth checking out.

This place is so fun! We visited with a 4 and 8 year old and they both had a great time. Loved all the attention to detail to make the spaces realistic. The staff were really amazing and patient with the children (especially the ones helping with the science experiments). They also do a really great job of keeping the spaces clean, because the kids sure love taking animals from the vet all the way to the grocery store and the foods from the diner to the police station. The painting station was stocked up, had smocks, all the paints - they really thought of everything!

This place is the most unfriendliest place that Ive ever been to.They have zero personality. I am mainly referring to the Supervisor or manager or whoever it was at the front desk when I was checking in. We came with a total of 8 people. We forgot one of our free tickets that my little one got we still had one however. So upon checking it I spoke with the cashier who spoke to her supervisor or whomever that was and she said no you have to pay. Im like duh! what Im telling you is we forgot the pass. I came here maybe two weeks ago with the free ticket and i have a ton but today i forgot it. This is my point if someone comes in explains to you and your stern face is no you have to pay no customer service no Empathy no more service. Thank you to all the other personnel who work in other areas you need a supervisor who is customer service oriented and cares for people and not just no cash no play. On top of that they tried to overcharge us. Your job is simple dont make it harder than it should be. See photos of tickets!

A Perfect Birthday Celebration at the Museum! Update: My daughters 5th birthday party at the Fort Bend Children s Discovery Center exceeded all expectations! The staff was incredibly attentive and helpful, from the setup to wrapping up the event. The museums layout was ideal, featuring benches in the middle of Kid City where parents could easily keep an eye on their children without hovering. The kids played harmoniously, with my daughters 7-year-old cousin taking on the role of manager at the vet clinic and even using the Wells Fargo ATM to give her employees their first paycheck. The interactive activities, like playing behind the counter at the diner and taking turns at the HEB grocery store checkout, engaged both kids and adults. The imaginative play extended to cramming into a car, pretending to drive, and operating the ambulance while others tended to the patient in the back. Kid City was so captivating that the kids didnt even think to explore the rest of the museum until it was time to leave, stopping at each activity center along the way. The birthday party was scheduled from 4-6 pm, the only timeframe allowed for private events, and it turned out to be a brilliant choice. As one parent wisely pointed out, the kids were having so much fun that they didnt want to leave, making the limited time frame a smart decision. Another parent humorously mentioned blaming the museum for leaving, using closing time as the perfect excuse. In summary, it was the best party, and Im thrilled I chose Fort Bend Children s Discovery Center. Unlike traditional trampoline and bouncy places that can be overwhelming for little kids, this venue offered a unique and enjoyable experience. I received numerous compliments from parents who were unaware that such a place hosted private birthday parties. My daughters cousin from Spring, TX, is already planning to bring their kids back because they had such a fantastic time. As the party concluded, all the kids left with full tummies, giggles, and happiness, and the parents were equally content. Original review: I recently had the pleasure of organizing my daughters birthday party at the Fort Bend Childrens Discovery Center, and I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the outstanding service provided by Ms. Iliana Jones, Ms. Yadira Juarez, and Ms. Natalia Regan. From the beginning, Ms. Joness leadership set a positive tone for our experience. Her guidance and support were evident throughout the process, contributing to the overall success of the celebration. Despite unforeseen challenges, the collaborative efforts of Ms. Regan, Ms. Yadira, and the dedicated Gallery Management Team were commendable. Their commitment to finding solutions and ensuring a positive outcome was truly remarkable. I want to extend special kudos to Ms. Yadira for her exceptional customer service. She went above and beyond by honoring a member price for the reservation, showcasing creativity and commitment that exceeded my expectations. Her dedication to creating a memorable experience for my daughters birthday celebration played a significant role in making the event truly special. Under the exemplary leadership of Ms. Jones and with the outstanding support of Ms. Regan, the Fort Bend Childrens Discovery Center team not only provided a solution to a challenging situation but also ensured that my daughters birthday celebration will be a resounding success. I wholeheartedly recommend the Fort Bend Childrens Discovery Center and Houston Childrens Museum for its exceptional service, commitment to customer satisfaction, and the remarkable efforts of its dedicated staff. Its an outstanding destination for families seeking a memorable and joyful experience. Thank you once again to Ms. Jones, Ms. Regan, Ms. Yadira, and the entire team at the Childrens Museum for making this celebration truly special.

Amazing place to take your kid for a nice day out. Great location next to the old Sugar silos. The exhibits are similar to the children s museum in Houston, but without the sketchy big city vibes and collateral filth that comes along with pretty much anything located in Harris County. It is simple, small and very entertaining for my 3 year old. I was rather impressed with how clean the restrooms are. All around awesome place and not overly crowded. Only complaint is there is no court food here, but there are a lot of food options in the area that make up for it.

We visited the museum on December 30th. The view of the museum by the big sugar silos makes your arrival magical. Once inside, keep in mind that this place is for kids entertainment, not for filing your expectations as an adult. My kids spent a lot of time in the immature room taking pictures in front of the mirrors and trying the challenges. The small city was nice. I sat down for about 25 min and saw all the kids interacting and playing with each other, even though they didnt know each other. Small but entertaining, simple but enough. Well return soon.

We are members which is a great way to enjoy this museum- we typically go on a later afternoon when the museum is not too busy and bring a friend (membership offers up to four to enter and also discounts additional tickets). Our 5 year old enjoys all the museum has to offer- history, science and play. She especially enjoys the Kidtropolis exhibit. With our baby, she typically stays in the stroller but on the occasions where it is just me and the baby, we invite another baby friend and go to the tot room. I was impressed with how clean it is kept- surface are constantly being cleaned and toys and books are rotated every few minutes for cleaning. Keep in mind that if you have other children, the tot room is strictly up to a certain age and the older children are not allowed to enter. There is a nice bathroom with changing table and the facility is stroller accessible

We loved it!! There is so much for the kiddos to do, all interactive/hands on. Even my 14 year old and her friend were entertained! The Kidtropolis (a city for kids, run by kids) area was awesome. There is a bank, school, art center, HEB, city center, and much more. There are tons of stations that help kids explore all kinds of careers. The other exhibits were great as well. Definitely recommend!!

This place is always good to visit with kids, especially in the summer months when it is hot outside. Kids can play and learn things over there. The staffs are nice during the time of our visit.

Smaller place compare to the Houston Children Museum but the kids still have a lot of activities they enjoyed. Definitely will coming back.

The post COVID wrinkles have been ironed out. The exhibits have been refreshed, repaired, and replaced as needed. I highly recommend going back.

Such a cool place to bring little ones! Fun, educational, artsy, cute- and it has a Tot Spot for teeny ones (up to age 2.5)& it is amazing (game chamging!) to have something like this to bring my toddler!!

First time visit. It s a cute miniature version of downtown one. I do like that is more empty and the kidtropolis is circular. Meaning a parent can sit in the middle and keep track of their kid running around. The staff is friendly and kids can easily spend 2-3 hours discovering and playing.

We went on a Friday, it was Perfect, not too busy, kids got a chance to experience everything that they could. Very well maintained and clean! There s a sanitizing station on almost every wall! A lil expensive but worth it since it s all well maintained! Restrooms were very clean also. Have some snacks or water for the kids in your vehicle, there are water fountains (if I recall) but no restaurants or snack bar s inside or close by (like next door)

If youve got really young kids, theyll find this enjoyable...as an adult, however, just hang in there and role-play like you mean it. All in all, its a fun place for kids. The staff werent very engaging, which wasnt great, but the lady in the science section was exceptional and took the time to do fun exercises with the kids.

Very nice and cozy although I felt it was a little small compared to the one in Houston, but they still had fun and we met another one, and I also liked seeing the sugar factory next to it.

Very disappointed today, our kids were waiting the whole week to take a picture with SpiderMan. They advertised they would be there from 10am to 4pm, never mentioned they would have a 1h break. We arrived there 1pm and the kinds were not able to see them. They wanted us to wait for 1h, kids were bored already and we had another place to go. We are nor saying they shouldn t have a break, but the museum should mention the break so we would not waste out time. We were planning renew our membership, but I guess we will not because this is not fair to the kids.
