Still the best! I have eaten sushi in Hawaii, and Keepers in Sugar Land, Texas is still the best. Amazing selection, freshest fish, creative offerings! You can taste the love. Juan is my favorite chef, always greets me with a big smile. Lita is an incredible server. I miss her amazing service! Belle and Keeper hire great people with potential and shape them into veteran food & beverage ambassadors! Order the supreme appetizer, and the yellow tail belly sashimi! Cant wait for my next visit to Sugar Land.

We wanted to love this place after reading all the positive reviews. There was a weird sewer smell that made the entire meal unpleasant. The food was okay but nothing really special. Staff was nice but also nothing special. I felt it was overpriced for the experience.

Ordered a shrimp fried rice and shaggy dog roll. Smallest portion of shrimp fried rice ever. Shrimp were cut in pieces and for the price it was very exceptionally small portion. I can get same dish at another restaurant and its enough to share, this was not. Shaggy dog roll was good. Spent $27 and dont feel like I got my moneys worth.

I booked this restaurant on Resy with high hopes. Unfortunately we received very mediocre sushi. The rice tasted like a bland basic rice, no vinegar seasoning that sushi rice usually have. The rolls were loose and the presentation was messy. The nigri rolls were made with very dry seafood like rubber. This restaurant may be acceptable if you have never had sushi before. Atmosphere and decor inside is very open, not the best for a date night. Definitely not a keeper, throw it back.

This was my go to sushi spot but lately their service has been lacking. I placed an order online at 4:25 and it told me it would be ready by 4:50. I checked in early inside and it was not busy. Here I am waiting still 30 minutes past when they told me it would be ready. Very disappointed with the delay in preparation, it caused me to be late for my movie.

Nice place to meet or have dinner with the family. The sushi is fresh, but the rolls lack depth of flavor. The fried cream was very good. The decor of the place was really nice. It has an upscale feel to the place. This makes it a nice place for business meetings. It is also very nice for a night out with the family. Dont go expecting an elevated sushi experience. The strength of Keepers is the service and ambiance. Our server did an excellent job of taking care of us, allowing for a very pleasant experience. I would recommend this place for a simple evening out or for a business lunch.

Keeper s is my favorite Japanese restaurant for sushi. Why? Because it s high quality and fresh! I always try new sushi places, but they can never match up to Keeper s. Had my birthday dinner here so I ordered the specials. Drink: Tried the Tokyo Blossom cocktail which was good. For the specials, I ordered Uni, Toro, and Yellow Tail Belly in addition to the sashimi plate chef s choice. The Salmon, Toro, and Yellow Tail Belly were really good. The Uni was a little disappointing this time around, not peak freshness. I ve had good Uni here in the past, but it s difficult to get great Uni in general. Still, everything else still makes me want to come back. Celebrated with the Fried Oreo with Mango ice cream which was delicious. Also ordered the Hamachi Kami (Grilled Yellowtail Collar) and the Baked Udon (mmmmm cheesy). Good service and not understaffed. If you value high quality sushi, then Keeper s is the place to go! Or you can stay away and I can keep it all to myself.

Food was great. It is a value restaurant you can expect an average of $20 per person, but the food is fresh. They have live sushi counter where everything is prepared in front of you by the chef I ordered bunch of sushi and everything turned out to be great. They have example of parking and the best part is they have a happy hour and a lunch menu separate, which has small portions of almost everything. There s also combo options which you Can opt for. The best thing overall is clean seating area, and even though I went on a weekend and it was pretty busy there was ample of seats available and the service was excellent . Vegetarian options: Avocado cucumber roll is great. There is also a vegetarian platter which has bunch of vegetarian sushi options. The french fries is great and not to forget that dessert is just amazing.

We also enjoyed the flavorful Sansai Tofu, the savory Asari Sakamushi steamed clams, the tasty Crawfish Roll, the fresh Sashimi platter, and the perfectly cooked yellowtail collar with sea salt was a standout dish as well. The restaurants interior is inviting and clean, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. The service we received was excellent, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to savor delicious Japanese cuisine.

Came for Valentines Day had a reservation we ordered our food and the sushi rolls came out on time but we waited 45 minutes and our nigiri never came out then the waiter tells me they have to make 1000s nigiri takes time usually people get that before the rolls and eventually they said they were out of it .No manager came to talk to us and I ended up having to cancel the order because they said they were out of stuff. They shouldve at least offered something complementary or some sake while we waited I will not be coming back to this restaurant. This was the second time we had it here for Valentines Day. Very disappointed. it was one of our favorite. Poorly managed .

I love this place so much, but they can be so hit or miss. I almost always order to go and I ve gotten nearly bad/unfresh sushi on several occasions over the years. One time it actually made me sick and it was a very long time before I could bring myself to eat sushi again. It doesn t happen often, but when it does it s really disappointing considering their price point. I ve attempted to address with management on two occasions and they completely brushed it off and were honestly downright rude about. I just wish I could be confident in the quality that I receive every single time.

The food took forrrever to come (like by the time we all got our food, it was time to go back to the office to get back on time). Super expensive but the taste/flavor didnt meet the price. I had a gyudon/some kind of beef bowl, with an egg - believe the chef forgot to season it LOL Surprise, but not really - gratuity 18% was plastered on all of our bills. We werent even that extra....3 of us ordered the same thing!!! Wont be returning.

We ordered 2 party trays from Keepers Japanese Restaurant and Bar. The trays were packed well, and the lid was labeled, so we knew which sushi and sashimi were what. The sashimi was fresh, and Keeper was not stingy on the cut of each sashimi piece. Out of all the rolls, I really liked the Crazy Roll and Williams Treasure Roll. Both are very flavorful with a good balance of texture. As for the Nigiri and Sashimi, the Blacken Tuna was the absolute favorite of mine from that tray. The Blacken Tuna is a must order! I am very busy but I carve out time once a month to go out with my landlady and friend for dinner. Tonight we had yet another great experience at Keepers. Its probably been a year or more since wed been here. Unfortunately, I didnt get pictures. Yes, the food is amazing and fresh! We had the bluefin tuna sashimi, the Salmon sashimi special, seaweed salad, anago, Salmon roll and something T recommended called Angry Lion. All of it was delicious! I dont think Ive ever had something I didnt love here. We also had a dessert with fried bananas and ice cream that was the cherry on top for our evening. More on that below. The atmosphere is 5 star, until it gets busy and loud which is why I gave the ambiance a 4. It can be OVERWHELMINGLY loud. The real reason why Im taking the time to write a review though, is because of the amazing service my friend and I received tonight. We arrived just before 7pm and were seated immediately. Kudos to the hostess team! The 5 star of the night though, was our waiter T. The service to our table was above and beyond. He rushed our orders in to accommodate the happy hour drink prices and even offered to order a second bottle and hold it for us. He was patient with us as wed just sat down but he also didnt wait too long to check on us. In a world where people prefer to feed up bad news over good, I didnt want this young man to go unrecognized. At such a young age (I should know, Im a mom of 6 grown adults), I was very impressed with his poise and hospitality. On top of checking on us frequently but quietly (so not in an annoying way), he was also open and warm. I asked him about his family background out of curiosity, he didnt seem put off by the question. He took a few minutes to answer, and we had a brief conversation, then he recommended something he thought we would like on the menu when we needed help. I insisted on treating my friend and although I was anything but discreet, handing him the card with instructions, he was kind and handled the situation beautifully. When he realized that he was being tipped extra, he asked us not to leave yet and, he took some of that tip and bought us dessert! Im speechless. Im an older person who has had a lifetime of world traveled experience. Ive lived in Japan, England and NYC for example and Ive been to Jean Georges, Del Friscos and had service less than I received tonight from T at your restaurant. Keep your eye on this young man. I see great things ahead! And T? Thanks for making our once a month dinner out a special treat! Much appreciated! Robin Sitton

Very nice Japanese restaurant, with upscale, lush and comfortable interiors, a very polite and helpful young Thai waiter (did not get his name), who helped me (a strict vegetarian) navigate through the very extensive menu and provided an egg less rice noodles and fried tofu and vegetables dish, fried in vegetable oil. It was delicious. Full marks to this fabulous waiter and the Chef who created this dish specially for me. The portions were generous and prices very reasonable. Superb coffee post lunch was a fitting end to this very satisfying meal. I will definitely return. Vegetarian options: Would recommend Owners add more vegetarian options. Parking: Restaurant is located in a large shopping strip. There is plenty of free parking

I have been going to Keepers every other month for a year. The quality of food seems to be going downhill. We love the In Love rolls, but they changed the design of the roll. They no longer do the heart design with the mayo and Sriracha sauce. We used to love that presentation when they brought out the plate. Normally, we would sit on the patio so we could spend time chatting. We decided to sit inside on this visit because it wasnt as busy and it was hot outside. About 30 minutes after we sat down, more customers started coming in. Thats when our waitress started rushing us. Or at least that is how we felt. She bought our receipt to our table, even though we were thinking about ordering another appetizer. Wasnt a good experience.

The food is what I expected from a Japanese place but the atmosphere is fantastic. Unlike anything I have ever seen before.

Atmosphere is very nice and welcoming but if you come during a busy hour it gets loud and overwhelming. The noodles were probably the best part of the menu, as the sushi was a bit too much. Though the staff were very friendly and worked fast to get everybody seated.

Probably my favorite sushi place in Greater Houston in terms of value and consistency. Its not the best in terms of flavor and innovation, but good overall.

Their happy hour portions have gone down! Paid $11 for 4-5 pieces of sushi, so not worth it anymore. Also, the service was slow.

This place is close to altitude in sugarland. The food was great,, the servers were nice and friendly. I feel like the serving is a like a little small.. or I maybe just eat too much. I like their mochi too.. The restaurant has a good atmosphere.. restroom is clean too. There are days we re the parking lot is full because they get busy.

Delicious sushi in an upscale and very professional looking restaurant. The service was very friendly as the waiter came often to check on our group with a smile on her face. I got to try the Shaggy Dog roll, Golden Gate Bridge roll, and the Skydiver roll. Its hard to go wrong with a Shaggy Dog roll if youre unsure what to order. This is a refreshing roll with a nice combination of flavors that isnt overpowering. The Skydiver roll was decent and good to try once. The favorite roll within my group was by far the Golden Gate Bridge roll. This cooked roll had salmon tempura and cream cheese in it which made for great mouth-feel and was delicous!! Additionally, since it is a cooked roll, theres the added benefit that you dont need to worry about accidently eating anything raw. Highly recommend the Golden Gate roll!!

Definitely not a KEEPER.. I have been eating in restaurants for so long with our toddler and he does not eat anything from outside let alone Sushi. THE RESTAURANT MADE US LEAVE stating outside food was not allowed. We make sure we carry our own cutlery container and everything when we go to restaurants for our toddler and knly Give him homemade food .we left and went to Umami close by and they had no issues letting us get home food for our toddler. I dont care if the food here is good or not but this is not how you treat customers let alone a toddler! DISMAL AND WE WILL NEVER RETURN!

Always consistently good and quite popular! The only problem might be that everybody goes there, so sometimes you will have to wait for a table. They will get you in quickly. My wife and I love their bento boxes and Philly rolls. The combination house fried rice is especially good. You must try the pork belly skewers. Service is always prompt professional and friendly. We will continue to go here regularly.
