This is by far the worst rink that we have ever skated at. The rink itself is so unlevel that I cant believe kids are able to learn to skate on it. The barricades are all leaning and the ice is SO thick and rounded where the door is that I watched kids fall out of it over and over again. I wish that they would just take the time to melt it down and start over but from what I have heard in the skating community, the owner is just using this place as a tax break and has no interest in keeping up with it. Sad. I wont even comment on the state of the rest of the building. Guess we will continue to drive the extra 20 minutes to Memorial City or the Galleria.

It is an ice rink in Houston. Is it perfect? No. Is it decent ice? Yes. I ve played hockey all over the USA and Canada. I ve played in much worse conditions. At least there are no pools of water blocked off with cones. Haha. No complaints. If you can t play here, then that s on you. Support your local rink before they disappear!

Possibly the oldest ice rink in Houston area, the rink has been in decline for years and was hit hard by the 2021 freeze. Far from the best ice Ive skated on, the ice in some of the corners is dangerous. The lobby bathrooms have toilet water leaking across the floor and out-of-order toilets. Locker room bathrooms/showers are in a similar condition. Scoreboards are in need of bulb replacement. This could be a great facility but needs some TLC to be on par with Bellerive and Aerodrome. Despite the condition, the Sugarland location is convenient for many and the rink is busy. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful.

I ice skated here for 7/12 years between the ages of 11-16 and I enjoyed it. I left due to me getting a job at 16 and not able to come to classes. I was going to return in the fall of 2018 but I suffered a severe car accident and the doctor said that if I was to ice skate then I would most likely end up paralyzed from the waste down. If there is one thing I could do, not having a fractured spine and pelvis is go ice skating. I enjoyed ice skating here the time I had and it was fun. I had a wonderful time and I do wish I could return but I can t take any chances due to my fractured bones. I give this place 5 stars

Went to the rink for the first time and I had a good experience. The facility and building are older but I was able to navigate it just fine. There wasnt much staff but it was a late publice skate session on a Friday night. There are a lot of negative reviews but for me the rink is good. If I were taking my kids and had them in hockey or figure skating Id gratitque this place but honestly, I just wanted a late public ice skate session and it was perfect. It was not packed, there was so much room and was relatively quiet. The ice was alright but if you have good and sharp blades I dont think itll be a issue. The bleachers are pretty old but I didnt smell any mold or see any fog on the rink glass when I was there, but like I said, Im not going to sitting in them long or looking for rusted items and puddles. In closing, if you want a place to public skate late I think you should give it a try.

I was passing through town and wanted to get a quick skate in. From my brief experience, I can clearly see why this place has so many bad reviews. Prayers for Sugar Land skaters, because this place is more like Mold Land -- gross environment, toxic staff, and requires extermination. It was around 9 am when I came in. Not super early, but no one was working at the ticket window or anywhere else. The only ones there were a sad little girl (I don t blame her because she has to skate at this dump) and a nice janitor who couldn t help me because she doesnt speak English. I went to the restroom, assuming that when I came out, someone would be working. So disgusting! Most stalls had unflushed feces/urine, did not have toilet paper, or working locks. The water fountain had semi dried up vomit on it. The floor was bumpy from leakage. Still, no one was working. When the session was about to start, a coach reassured me that it was fine to skate now and pay later. So I proceeded to put my earbuds in and enjoy my ice time as I always did at any other rink. The roof was leaking as I put on my skates and the surrounding smelled like mold. Near the end of my session, an angry woman came to tell me that I wasn t allowed on the ice without paying first, and that the coaches didnt like my earbuds. Well, I tried to pay but I didn t see you or anyone working at the ticket booth did I? I thought she had a card reader attached to her phone to take my payment, but nope. Her excuse was because the rink doesn t pay her. LOL Why are you even here? And to the music-hating coaches, y all know that there are sport specific earbuds that have in-ear grip and hear-through mode right? All sounds are AMPLIFIED when I have them on. I can hear my blades ripping and everything. For years, I ve worn earbuds every single session and never had an accident, not even on a crowded public session. I see your students running into each other and NONE of them have earbuds in. How about you teach them to watch where they re going instead of me enjoying my practice. Finally, another lady who looked like she just woke up made it to the window and took forever to process my payment. I was charged $24 for an hour of skating. Every other rink charges $12-$15 for 1+hrs. Why are their freestyle sessions only 30 minutes?! And NO discounts even if you bring your own skates?! PURE GREED! I am so glad that I don t train here. I wouldn t even come here for a public because the ice quality is below average. Whoever is running this place should be ashamed of themselves, what a disgrace to a beautiful sport.

My family had a blast getting on the rink! I hadn t skated in like 15-20 years, but it was easy to rent skates and get out there. I only give the building a 4 out of 5 stars because the restroom smelled to high Heaven. It needed a staff to clean it. Since this is a family friendly establishment, it needs to attempt to be clean.

Great staff, very nice. Terrible rink for public skating. They clearly do not resurface the ice before public sessions. This is my second time here, and I ve tripped twice just in 20 minutes due to cracks in the ice. Also, I ve seen blood on the ice on my first visit here and now on my second. If they could maintain the ice rink better and make it a safe and quality standard, they would improve so much.

My kids played here for hockey and it was like attending homeless shelter dinner. The place is falling apart and you can smell the mold in the air. The sport is already expensive now imagine paying about $21 per game at this decrepit rink. Shouldve just let it fall apart after the freeze. This is ridiculous. They didnt even stop the game when a kid was hurt. Just an awful experience. Heed my warning and save your money and keep your kid safe. They wont.

It s very obvious the people that own it do not care for the rink and are not willing to make it a better place for skaters and hockey players, it needs to be taken over by someone with an actual passion for the industry. SLICE has been a staple of sugar Land for years, it s sad to see what it s reduced to because of greed.

The public entrance fee differs not according to days of the week but on the no of hours per session. If its public session is for 2 hours it is $12 if 3 or more than the entry/person is $14. They do have ice seals for practicing kids available for rent at $10/piece.

So first of all I ll start off by saying I haven t been ice skating in 11 years . I was super excited to go finally! and also it was my 9 year old daughters first time Ever ice skating . Pros: Smooth ice , Lots of space to sit , Vending machines, Good skates, a pro shop for merchandise and lots of parking Cons : There was no supervision on the ice what so ever . So lots of (out of control teenagers) grouping up standing on ice . Blocking natural flow , Cursing using lots of Foul language , unnecessary use of the push around sled (the seal for kids) . inappropriate clothing , Dirty bathrooms and I mean dirty dirty, and there was a few puddles on the ice . So as a first time experience it was 3 stars . It could be better with supervision and a good set of rules. That are announced at least every 30 mins for the teenagers that need to be reminded to act right in public around children. Even as a adult I came there to enjoy my self not have too listen or deal with out of control teenagers.

This place isnt a shiny as in its heyday when I was a teenager. The ice isnt as good/kept up, the proshop isnt much other than some jerseys and little things. That being said it still has memories and we are making more with our teenagers playing hockey there now. I would rather go here than say to the Galleria for skating any day. This place is great to take your kiddos to skate, not too packed and plenty of parking.

Theres great lessons (group and/or private individual) to get you or your kids from first step on the ice to confidant on the ice, on up to competitive figure skating if you so choose. The coaches are great and theres clearly some that are at a very high level, and clearly some students that have been very successful at a high competitive level. If youre looking for a break from the heat or to learn new skills on the ice, SLICE is great!

We had our daughter with this facility for few months. It has been almost waste of time and money. The basic class coaches are merely high school kids, who just spend time chatting with other coaches. Little time is spent with kids to find out what the kids are lacking and how could they improve skating skills. My daughter had been for nearly 3 months and we see zero improvement. I do not even get chance to talk to the coaches, as they are always busy with their next session. The management is awful. Mark does not even care on my request for improving the quality of coaches. He thinks the coaches are the best in the world and he sees that he does not need to guide the coaches properly. Infact in one his email he stated that he serves for wide audience as possible, but inevitably it doesn t serve everybody. So that means he does not care for everyone. He does not see any room for improving the things from his side. What can I say further. The coaches spend hardly 20-25 min in the given 30 min short session. In this 20-25 min, warm up activities are given just to kill the time. And all they ask is to skate from one side to other. No special attention is given to each candidate. The ratio is almost 8 kids to 2 coaches. This ratio does not work in the given 30 mins short session. Moreover they need a 2 month notice to discontinue them, when asked why this situation, they simply say it is the management decision. I strongly suggest please do not go to Sugarland Ice Skating Center. It is a complete rip off, waste of time and money. Not worth it at all!!!

The ice is terrible in both rinks but rink b is the worst. Rink A: Like an inch gap between the boards and the ice. Behind the net the ice dips down then in 3ft it goes up again. No place for the girls to change so the bathroom is always full and over crowded. The boys dressing room is very small. They do not make it cold enough to keep the solid so the ice is always slush. There is no glass around the penalty box, so if a puck flew in there, the attendant would likely be injured. Rink A: Ice is better, but still quite mushy. The girls dressing room is legitimately an old janitours closet painted pink. Boys dressing rooms are very small as well. The ceiling over the stands drips, so spectators are constantly having to shift seats to avoid getting wet. The bathrooms are hideous. I dont think they ever clean in there. The trash bins are always full, there are crumpled paper towels all over the floor, the toilets are dirty, the walls are grimey, and basicly maybe one or two stall doors lock. Lobby/skate rental area: Theres always trash all over the floor, the walls are dirty, and the trash bins are overflowing. I know the building is old, but it would look at least 10x better if they just kept it clean and maintained the place! Just recently, my brothers game was canceled due to high carbon monoxide levels because of the zamboni. They already knew about the monoxide levels because earlier that day someone had to be taken to the hospital because they passed out! Yet instead of canceling everything for that rink they still kept it open and risked the health of other patrons! Poorly run. They clearly do not know how to run a business.

I had my skates sharpened here and payed ahead of time so I could pick them up another day, however when I returned I was told that I had not payed. The ticket I had was marked payed but the one on my skates was not. I was told I would have to pay again if I wanted my skates. I asked them to look for the transaction in their system and I was told that they would not find anything because I had not payed. After 1 hour they found out that I had payed and told me I could leave. When I was handed my skates I had to point out that they werent even the same color or size.

My 3 year old daughter is learning to skate here. She is currently in the Snow Plow 1 class and she loves every minute of the 30 minutes she has on the ice. I have never seen her have as much fun as she does on the ice. The instructors do a great job of balancing instruction and fun.

We had our daughter with this facility for almost 4 years. It seems we wasted our time and money here. The tods class coaches are high school kidos, who are just there to get paid. They spend 20-25 min. In warm up activities (essentially to kill time). There are no regular evaluations. They do it only when parents complain to the front desk to see where their kids stand. They are not at all accommodating when it comes to our schedule. Moreover they need a 2 month notice to discontinue them, when asked why 2 months, they talked about running a business and all. We noticed all these things when because of heavy traffic in that area, we moved to westwood gymnastics in katy. Not only they are more economical, they have incentives like pay less if you have autopay and all. They spend more time with kids, heavily involved with them, bigger facility, more coaches, professional office people and very frequent evaluations. Please do not go to sugarland gymnastics if you want to get value for your time and money.

Very fun ice skating rink and its popular during the weekends for public skating. It has seen better days though as things are starting to get run down and stuff isnt being repaired or cleaned up. The local restaurant and bar has been closed though since the rink came back from the temporary closure.

Apparently the staff are rude and cheap, not tipping delivery drivers, instead giving them a handshake. What can you expect from such people? Do you think they would take care in providing a safe environment for your kids when they stiff drivers trying to earn money for their families?

We send our daughter of 5 years old to their summer camp. First two weeks, there were not much complaints or anything. Starting from 2nd day of 3rd week, my daughter complained the calf of her legs were much painful even with very gentle touch, and her wrists were also painful. She had to stop going to the camp. When my husband went and asked whether it was possible to get some refund/credit for the days we had paid. He was told no, that was OK, because we knew that was the policy and we just wanted to check. Then when my husband said our daughter suffered pain, the people at the front desk said our daughter didnt really participate most of the activities during the camp. Oh, really? We would have appreciated it if you told us after her 1st week and before we registered for another 2 weeks!

My 5 year old was extremely disappointed. No mention of the place closing on either groupon, the centers website or on the recorded phone message. Very poor management to take continue to take peoples money when they know they are closed!

Today is the test day(end of session). The ladies in the lobby would not check in my daughter because they said I did not pay for it. I paid two times a week in the shop at the beginning of the session. Now it is end of session and they said I did not pay. I asked why not letting my daughter go to the class while we figure out this mess. However they rejected me. They are not flexible and they dont care. It turned out it is their mistake. I asked for the director Julie and she went to the shop and found out I paid two times per week, but the shop people only entered one time per week in the system. The workers just dont care. They said they dont believe what parents say because most of the time parents are wrong and they are very dishonest. They said parents pay for one time a week but send kids two times a week. They use this to generalize all parents. They implemented a scan card process to check in. Parents hand them a card, they will scan it and it takes time for them to search, and click the screen. Parents and kids have to wait in the line for several minutes each time. The lines are very long sometimes because the workers have trouble finding kids classes in the system. One time a little girl was late and her mom told her to go to the class while she was waiting in the line to check her in. She was yelled by the worker and cried. I dont know her name. She is an old lady often yells at parents that dont stand close to the glass. They said they used punch holes before but parents just skipped that. Yes, that was because they were sitting in the lobby which is far away from the ice rink entrance, and parents could just bypass them. If they move to the entrance of ice rink, nobody could bypass them. It saves a lot of time to check in. These people have zero intelligence and dont care. I want to give them zero star, but that is not an option here.

Once the rink was under new management by the Feltus family, I saw a LOT of improvement. Sure, as with most rinks in Houston.. the ice can be brutalized by our summers, but the hockey is fun, locker rooms maintained, and pro shop stocked with the important stuff. The Aeros may be gone, but the spirit of hockey lives on!

I have had very bad experience with the management of Sugar Land Gymnastics lately. I registered both of my 3 yrs old and 6 yrs old daughters at their summer classes. While my younger daughter enjoys it fully, my 6 yrs old doesnt. Since the class that my old daughter goes to is girls I which is a little advanced for her(she is not very athletic, my mistake, shouldnt have registered her in the first place), I asked the front desk if i can let her try a level down, which is for mixed of 4 and 5 yr olds. They seemed not very willing, but agreed. When we went to the class the next time my 6 yr old didnt want to go in and try no matter how we tried to encourage her. I didnt want to push her to do things she didnt like, so I asked the front desk if I could use the rest of the money i paid for my 6 yr old as credits towards fall classes for my 3 yr old. The answer is no. I was told that I could only use the money for my younger daughter for this summer. I paid 10 classes for each of them and so far my younger daughter took 2 classes and old daughter just tried one. I couldnt possibly let my younger daughter take 17 classes during the rest of the summer. We have other schedules and classes as well. I asked to talk to the owner. When the owner called me he just repeated what I was told by the front desk. I told him that I think they are being very inflexible and unreasonable and I was going to report them to Better Business Bureau. I still cant believe what he said following. He said that he would refund for my younger daughter who is happy with the class now so he wouldnt have to deal with me again, but NOT refund for my older daughter. He said he was kicking us out and said that we were not allowed to go to the gym otherwise he would call the police. I was shocked by what I heard. I cant believe the owner of this place where little kids go and have fun can say something so rude and hurtful. So parents out there, if you want to register classes at this place, make sure you ask clearly about their cancellation policy, otherwise you would probably have similar experience with us.
