Bad service and disappointing food. We reserved a table and called in beforehand to purchase a peking duck. When we came in and said we wanted the peking duck they said they did not have any. When we cleared up that we reserved it beforehand they said okay, but after we had ordered our food they claimed the duck had been burnt . They gave us coconut jelly as some sort of pardon for their subpar service. Not only that but the service was bottom tier from our waitress throwing straws down on our table without a word.

SLOW! They have no respect for your time and will take their sweet time. The restaurant was pretty empty too so its not like they had too many tables to serve. Ive been here a couple times in the past and it was always ridiculously slow so its not due to the hurricane or anything. I always refrained from leaving a bad review in the past but this was the last straw. Service has never gotten better. Ended up telling us last minute that they dont have some of the items we ordered either. Food was decent, nothing special. Will not return.

They tried to overcharge us and denied that their menus were not accurate. The lobster was written to be 48.99, but they tried to charge us 58.99. The Peking Duck was 34.99, but they charged us 39.99. The Japanese Tofu was written to be 17.99, but it was charged as 22.99. They are stealing your money!!! They would not have changed this if we did not catch them. They are dishonest and they do not deserve even one star.

It was the best Chinese restaurant in town. But now it is the worst. Customer service is a joke. No greeting when you arrived. No conversations with the customers when serving. No one help when you packaged the leftovers (a lot of leftovers). Most of the food are not prepared in the same day. I feel so sorry for the owner but will not come again.

Called in an order of 5 chef specialty dishes at 5:40 pm on 4/16/24. The restaurant employee who took the order said it would be ready for pick up in 30 minutes. I arrive at the restaurant at 6 pm, a little bit early but I can wait a few minutes for the food. When I arrive, the employee/manager at the door dressed in all black with a mask then prints out my order and takes the ticket into the kitchen to start cooking. Mean while I m waiting another 30 minutes for them to prepare the order. The restaurant was not busy, two tables occupied only. After 20 minutes of waiting, a young lady from door dash arrives to pick up an order and again, the manager/employee prints the order ticket and takes to the kitchen to start. What is the purpose of this bad customer service? Why are you waiting for the customers to arrive before starting their called in order? Ridiculous! Your business is serving your customers, if you can t do that, why are you in business? It s no wonder your restaurant gets bad reviews cause y all do it yourselves with these bad business practices. Never again will I come back to this restaurant because of the way your business treats your customers. Don t let me get started on the amount of flying bugs at this restaurant, flys, mosquitoes and nats everywhere.

I ordered dim sum to pick up on the Super Bowl Sunday. Frankly, I never had dim sum this mediocre. The soup dumplings was below average; the skin is so thick and the big chunk of meat just doesnt do it. The shrimp dumpling, Ha Cao, skin were separated when i got home, the Xiu mai is so below average, etc. Every dishes were below average or just bad. There are time i spent over a thousands dollars for a dinner here and I just couldnt believe the dim sum was so underwhelm.

Horrible! The food was okay, but the restaurant was unclean, unprofessional, and unfriendly. The turntable was sticky, and the floor was poorly cleaned and sticky too. It took a long time to get our order in because the staff were too busy talking to their friend customers and nobody came over to us even after raising our hands for a long time. Every time somebody bought a roasted duck dish, the staff would turn off the lights, surprising us and made us stop and pause because we could not see what we were in front of us, which was quite unpleasant because we had to do something right after dinner. The staff had us help them clean up the table, and afterwards, tried to scam us by putting a dish we didn t order on the receipt. They made it very obvious that this wasn t an accident, and when we were leaving, a staff member asked us did you pay yet? 1 star, never coming back again!

I didnt have a good impression of this restaurant at first, so I took my cousin to try it because he had never been there. Unexpectedly, I was still disappointed as always. The food is average (the scallion chicken is good), the price is a bit expensive, and the environment is even worse. As soon as you enter, the room is filled with the smell of oil smoke (last time I went there, there was a water leak). The waiter will bang the bell on the wall from time to time before serving the food. So I got scared a few times. This is a restaurant I will never go to again, and I don t recommend it to everyone.

Food was AMAZING. Japanese salted egg pumpkins were a bit undercooked but good otherwise the food was stellar!! The owner is the nicest man. That being said I wish I could give them ten stars, but the service is absolutely awful. When I came in I was ignored. When I finally waved down an employee to help me be seated because we had a reservation they cut me off mid sentence when an elderly Asian lady walked in. They went right over to her ignored me and promptly sat her walk in party of 12. When I waved the employee down once more once he went back to doing nothing he just said oh see you have a table now go sit go sit. Once he realized that I was not in fact with the lady that walked in after me he got angry and frustrated and started arguing that he had already helped me despite me CLEARLY not being seated I finally walked out. When my older uncle finally showed up he tripped over himself to seat us. Im not sure if there is an age limit to eat here but Id think being 30 would hit it. It was either that or the fact that everyone else that came in could speak Chinese and I could not. Also they do this thing where everytime someone ordered the house special duck a bell is rang and they shut off all the lights in the restaurant to be punch black so you can see the duck being lit on fire. Im not sure why they wouldnt just dim the lights because s the most popular item the lights went pitch black while people were eating every five minutes, and that was horribly annoying. Its delicious but the smokey smell and the fire are gimmicky at best. The fire is still clearly visible please stop this. When your entire restaurant groans everytime a bell is rang its because we all hate it.

DO NOT GIVE ANY BUSINESS TO THIS DISHONEST RESTAURANT!! Few weeks ago, about 3:05pm, called and tried to order their lunch specials. But be told the specials ends at 3:00pm. Today, been there at 2:50pm, then the boss said the specials end at 2:30pm. I have already heard bad reviews about them within Asian community, but I was told about the food sometimes okay, sometimes bad. So I decided to try on their lunch specials first. There are some other Chinese restaurants around the area, so go to others, avoid Regal!!!

Above and beyond, the only way to describe Regal Seafood! The service is spectacular. We happened to go at a time that was a bit slower, and all of the staff were attentive to our needs. Funny story, my mom opened the cap to the teapot to let the tea cool faster, and four staff came up to us one after the other thinking we needed a refill. Thats how good the service was! The food was delectable. From the plating to the taste, nothing can be nitpicked. I specifically went during dim sum, but their dishes in general, you cant go wrong with anything you order. The owner was super personable and came to chat at our table about his approach to food, and I gained so much more respect for the business after the conversation. Each dish is hard work, especially to do it the right way! Noting 30+ years of experience, the owner truly cares about quality and preserving that traditional taste! I was bummed to see them downsize to this new location, which is a bit farther from me than their old location, but I am willing to make the drive just to try everything on their menu and will happily bring my friends/family here for gatherings because I know that the quality is a guarantee.

We came here for dim sum on a Sunday morning around 11:30am. At first the host told us we would have to wait (he didn t know how long) because we were a party of only 3 adults and the 4 tables he had available seated 7+ people. I decided to look at other nearby options (Jade Garden and Kim Son), and as we were discussing the other options the host decided to seat us. The service was generally fine - we were able to order, receive our food, and pay the bill without too long of a wait. When we asked for tea, water, and a knife to cut the larger items, everything was brought to us promptly. The food was a disappointment compared to when this restaurant was at its former location. The soup dumplings looked as if they had been sitting out for a while after having been cooked, their wrappers were hard, and they contained no soup. When I asked a server whether those were actually the soup dumplings, she said they were. Then I mentioned that there was no soup in them, and she nodded, looked a little embarrassed, and said that s the way they are here at the restaurant. The shrimp har gow and shrimp rice noodle rolls were both overcooked, resulting in mushy wrappers that disintegrated when we were trying to serve them. The steamed char siu bao buns did not taste fresh, so we each tried a bite but left the rest. When we mentioned this to the host (who seemed to also be the head server), he took them back to the kitchen and removed them from our bill. The baos also didn t have much filling, so overall they were a big disappointment. The food that did meet our expectations were the Chinese broccoli, turnip cakes, and bean curd pork rolls. The Chinese broccoli was topped with fresh garlic in white sauce rather than the usual oyster sauce - I really enjoyed it! It was also a very large serving - we only finished about half of it at the restaurant. The turnip cakes were solid, and nice and crispy on the outside (just like I like them), although they forgot to bring them out until the end so we were pretty full by the time they arrived. The bean curd pork rolls were also delicious, but they were also forgotten until we mentioned it so they came out at the end of the meal and we were already full. The restaurant ambience is functional. The chairs are grand - fancy fabric and tall backs. However, the tables are covered in plastic tablecloths (for dim sum at least), and the lazy Susan turntables look like a fake jade. The tables and chairs are crammed into a fairly small space, and the majority of the tables seat at least 8 people. There are tons of boxes and other detritus in the hallway leading to the restroom, which can be seen from half of the restaurant. The bar is overflowing with takeout containers and a register, which makes it unusable as a bar. There is also a huge machine that looks like an air purifier sitting under part of the bar - it would be helpful if they removed it when it s not in use. The restrooms are terrible - the large roll of toilet paper is placed haphazardly on the handicap handrail, and the roll of paper towels sits on the wet counter of the sink. The hand soap is in a dispenser that was originally for hand sanitizer (so you re not really sure if it s soap or sanitizer until it actually suds). I used to love Regal when it was on Hwy 59 - the food and ambience were so much better. I was so sad to not enjoy our dim sum this morning.

My first impression was very nice: plush chairs, big tables, stone floor and walls, beautiful lighting, impressive murals. Then, I noticed things that definitely belonged in a more casual restaurant: neon beer sign, drinks case by the entrance, aluminum takeout pans tied to ceiling vents. (They could have at least spray painted or covered the shiny tins to blend in!) We ordered Japanese Tofu fried in salted egg yolk batter and Soft Shelled Crab Fried Rice, and asked the server his suggestion for another dish. His pick of the Garlic Maggi Beef was a very good complement to the other dishes and I enjoyed all three! Soft tofu was a nice contrast to the salty, crispy batter. I do love salted egg yolks! Dont go by the menu picture of a whole soft shelled crab on top of the fried rice. I didnt mind that it was in crunchy batter-fried pieces as the crab inside was tender and went very well with the nicely flavored rice. There was a good amount of steak and it was tender, with a light maggi sauce. The broccoli was cooked to the right firmness. My husband thought there could have been more flavor overall, but I preferred the just enough seasonings to enhance the dishes. Servers must work as a team (which is great!) as both came by to check on us and were polite and professional. Yes, I will return if just to try dishes Ive never had before!

Their food is really Really GOOD, we tried the salty shredded chicken and it s the best we ve had. We also had tofu with snow pea leaf, another exceptional dish. We have been coming here for the last year and the food and service has always been extraordinary. This will be our permanent GoTo place !!!

Dim sum Hong Kong style. No more need to go to Chinatown. Stay in the sweet sweet land of the sugar.

I never been a place such rude in every way. Slow food, rude service, dirty place. In the end, they do not have a fish that we ordered, they only want to replace it instead of remove it from our bill! So rude! Never come anymore!

This is my dad s favorite Chinese restaurant in Houston. However, the experience is either hit or miss. The food can be amazing, but the owner doesnt really know how to run things efficiently. The service earlier this year was flat out awful. I vowed never to return to this place after the last time. My dad tells me they got more staff since then, so maybe the service is better. They have a bad habit of having 3 or 4 waiters serving each table. All restaurants assign one waiter per table. They used to have a huge menu, so it was harder to get food out of the kitchen in a timely manner. They paired down their menu a lot since they first opened, so theres a chance you will get you food somewhat quickly now. The chefs do a good job ONLY when the owner is present. If the boss isnt there, the cooks slack off and do a noticeably worse job preparing the food. Honestly, if Mr. Mo isnt there, just leave. Culturally, the owner and waiters grew up in poor villages in China. They re basically a bunch of country bumpkins trying to run a fancy Chinese restaurant. I can t blame them too much. The food is good and authentic but they cant run a restaurant efficiently at all half the time.

This is my first time here at the Highway 6 location and 2nd time eating here since I first visited it at the Fountain Lakes location. I was excited to visit because of the Dim Sum being in Sugar Land. So here are all the dishes I like: Pork & 1000yr old Egg Congee, Radish cake with XO sauce, Steamed shrimp in rice roll, Fried salt & pepper shrimp roll. Here are all the dishes that lacked seasoning and flavor: Chicken feet, shrimp and chive dumpling, Siu Mai, Tofu skin wrapped roll. The beef tripe had seasonings but it was a taste I didnt enjoy. Im used to the ginger sauce and I didnt taste it here. The lobster sauce was lacking in flavor as well. For me I wouldnt come back again for dim sum. I was hoping to have a decent dim sum restaurant close to home but most of my favorites dishes was lacking in flavor. Looks like Ill be sticking to China Town.

Do not waste your money here! The food is not fresh and it tastes very bad. Low quality food and chef. The service is very bad and slow. It is not the same restaurant we had several years ago. If you went there once, you would never go back. This is the first time I review the restaurant since I feel very disappointed.

Authentic Cantonese cuisine. Unlike Americanized Chinese food (e.g., fast food or buffet in general), the chef would not hide the freshness of the seafood by over-seasoning or adding unnecessary ingredients. The dishes showcase the best flavor of lobsters, crabs, shrimps, fish, etc. Highly recommend.

This one star is for good quality of the servers. If I have 0 star as I choice I would give them 0. This place out of order for dessert. And takes them 30 mins to make the food and not even get everything. Those chefs just come out and eat and no one make the food. Just telling customers food is out. This is ridiculous. Also. There is no AC. If you can survive the hotness in houston. Please feel free to come back

The sliced duck was delicious. I ordered half a stick and the three of us finished it off. I didn t know it was served with lettuce wraps, but I didn t eat them. The stir-fried hawthorn bones were recommended by the service. They are not very popular. They are probably customized for Americans, a bit like orange chicken. The fried stuffed three treasures are good and quite delicious. The sizzling seafood, my son really likes it, the dishes and seafood are authentic, I finished this plate, and the two tables next to me ordered it.

They were shortstaffed but the one waiter and owner kept things moving at a timely clip. The noodles with soy sauce have a lovely texture and the honey walnut shrimp is the best thing Ive eaten in recent memory. We were shocked at how low our bill was when it was time to pay - we definitely felt like we had recieved a fancy, indulgent meal. Next time well come early for dim sum!
