I visited the restaurant after a year. It seems there has been a change in ownership. Although the food was decent and perhaps I was hungry, my reason to write a review is to bring attention to the lack of complimentary water. A 20z bottle is $2. No water jug is provided for the table. If I return, Ill bring my own water (BYOW).

I used to be an Uber eats customer of this restaurant for more than a year. They used to make delicious, tasty chicken quarters until recently. I received the previous order from them and the chicken was not cooked well at all. It was bloody from the inside. I thought that it was a fluke and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I ordered from this place again and I have received the same order as before- barely cooked chicken quarter with hints of blood in it. It was tasteless as well. The quality has gone down significantly .

The food appears ok, but the service is horrible. Prepare to wait 5 hours if your picking up , or eating in. Very small inside and can get busy. I have been a dedicated regular customer since 2018. I come at least 4+ times a week. Ever since the new owner came, he has completely ruined the experience. The new owner is money hungry and greedy. The new owner increased the prices ridiculously high, gave less food, took away a PERFECTLY GOOD fountain drinks machine, and proceeded to lie by saying it doesn t work, when the employee said that the owner shut it off. He did this to charge customers for bottled drinks to put more money in his pockets (which is fine, but DO NOT lie about it.) These past few times I have went, a friend of mine was pouring the white sauce and the entire cap came open and the entire bottle of sauce fell on her, and the owner laughed and did not even acknowledge it and kept walking and laughing about the incident. I gave them one last chance today, and ordered 2 chicken and rice bowls to-go. And asked for a little more white sauce, only to get argued with from the employee over a little more white sauce. These are just a few examples of many from myself and people that I personally know. I used to be a regular and was my favorite place to eat at. But unfortunately because of the poor customer service, after today I will not be returning.

The hubby wanted to try this place out after going to First Colony mall. Its close by and was looking for a place for dinner. This is a counter service restaurant.. you order and they give you a number so they can bring the food to you. Utensils, plates, and condiments are self serve. We had the 1/4 chicken (dark) medium spicy, 3 chicken wings medium spicy, port house salad, peri cassava fries, and perimayo corn. The 1/4 chicken was pretty tangy (I like tangy food but its more of a Buffalo sauce tangy, which is a bit too much for me) you would like it if youre a fan of Buffalo sauce. The medium spicy has a good kick to it.. but not too spicey, wing flavor was good.. but the wing was a little dry. The peri cassava fries and perimayo corn were good. I like those two sides.. the port house salad (romaine, corn, red onions, tomatoes and olives) is a basic salad with a package of dressing on the side (choice of italian and french dressing). The salad wasnt really cold. I thought it was nice trying it out and would recommend if you want to try it to go check it out. Its reasonable pricing to any other restaurant for dinner but I wouldnt personally come back.

I placed an order through Uber Eats for a gluten-free wrap when it arrived. It did not look right as both my husband and I are allergic to gluten and have celiac. I called twice to confirm that they had gotten my order right and that it was gluten-free. I spoke to a woman first who told me I could not speak to the manager because he was busy with prayers, but she confirmed that the order was gluten-free after I hung up I looked at it again. It just did not sit right with me. It didn t look right. I called back and this time I was able to talk to the manager, a man. When I told him that I was calling to confirm that my order was gluten-free that it was prepared properly so that we didn t get sick. He immediately flew off the handle yelling at me that they don t have anything gluten-free when I proceeded to try and tell him that Uber Eats has a gluten-free option on there for his restaurant. He got even more angry, almost as if he was taking it personal when I asked him was he even aware of this, and that he needed to contact Uber Eats and fix this because meanwhile, my husband had already started eating and ended up going to the hospital. He instead screams at me and I can hear customers and staff in the background so this is in front of everybody that they don t have gluten-free and I need to call Uber eats and it s not his responsibility!!!! I am leaving this review because this is actually the second time something very similar has happened except it wasn t a safety issue and we didn t end up in the hospital however, DoorDash and Uber eats have two different menus when I tried to tell him the manager that there was a discrepancy between the two apps he also yelled at me. He is very difficult to communicate with horrible manager and does not care about his business or he would ve taken this seriously. NO GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS HERE, MENU IS INCORRECT! No more from this restaurant for me anybody that can t even speak to customers properly does not deserve my money. Dietary restrictions: NO GLUTEN FREE. It all depends on the flavor you choose, i got the lemon and herb flavor that was the best flavor out of all the other ones it little sweet but taste really good and all the other flavors are spicy and it is up to you if you can handle the spice tolerance. New mgmt. food was good. Overall restaurant could get some attention on the cleanliness. Sauces were a bit running but still holds the good yummy taste. Our host in black scarf was very professional , helpful and caring. We found a bit less quantity of food as compare to last time. Enough parking. Ample seating space. You will get the most dirty look for asking for a water cup. Not to mention the owner will eye you every time you fill your cup up with water to make sure it is not a soda. Food was great. I ordered 1/2 chicken dark meat (lemon pepper and extra hot mixed), cassava fries, and a water. The chicken was perfect from the tenderness to how juicy it was. The sauce was a bit overpowering but that was probably my fault. The mix of two sauce was probably better as a dip. Extra hot was spicy but a good spicy. Enough to burn but not enough to stop eating. The fries had no complaints. The fries came out fresh so crispy and hot. Water was in a water bottle which I regret knowing I could have gotten tap water from the fountain drink. Over all 9/10 experience and I would recommend to anyone who is in the area.

It was our first time coming to this restaurant. We were a family of 9, we ordered the family platter 2 chickens and 4 sides. We ordered plain, lemon and herb, medium and Cajun with lemon and herb. All sauces were delicious! We ordered peri peri fries, it was spicy for the kids but they were kind enough to switch it to plain rice. Their rice, steamed vegetables and cornmayo was all great! The chicken itself was moist and not dry my favorite part was the skin. It was still nice and crispy even after putting the sauce on. I definitely recommend this restaurant! 2024 Update: I recently came back after a few months and found myself wondering what happened to this place. The portion sizes that been drastically cut, I ordered the burger and was disappointed that I received about 4oz of cooked chicken. It was mostly bread and lettuce which was about $13, completely unreasonable. The bathrooms were unclean and drenched in water. It is no longer what I remembered. ********************************************************************* I have been coming here once a week for the past few months, and all I can say that I love this place! The staff are friendly and make recommendations to first timers. The price is reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food, which is fantastic. The sauces you can buy are delicious as well. I have never received anything burnt, dirty, or wrong. I have been to Nandos, Peri Peri Factory, and other similar places, but Port of Peri Peri takes 1st prize.

We tried this place last night for the first time, and the experience was exceptional. From the nice ambiance to the attentive staff, every detail contributed to a delightful evening. The menu offered a diverse range of mouthwatering dishes, We tried the peri peri chicken and peri peri fries and were amazing. We ordered the chicken medium hot and the flavors were delicious. The ingredients were fresh, flavors well-balanced, and presentation impeccable.The service was prompt and courteous, creating an overall inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking good grilled chicken with an amazing sauce.

Every time we visit we receive great service, the food is always delicious and the portion sizes are good too! The staff are very friendly and welcoming, they will recommend dishes based on what you like and are always happy to help. We go as a family with our small children and there are plenty of other families as well as couples/friends eating together, it s a great atmosphere! Parking: Can always park right outside Kid-friendliness: Lots of families in there, menu is kid friendly. The children s meal is great value.

I eat here quite often and I have enjoyed everything I have had so far. My usual is either the falafel rice with pita or chicken strips with pita. I have also had the chicken burger and both the peri fries and casava fries. All are very good. I add the white sauce to everything and it mixes well with the peri sauce and cuts the spice a little.
