Carded and braceleted as soon as we walked into an empty bar at Friday 8pm. 6 chairs already filled at the bar, had to ask if we could take a chair from a table. Told we might have to give up the chair when they got busy. Ordered a ln espresso martini and draft beer. If you like the unwashed anime matsuri vibe you might like this place.

Karaoke night, games, anime cosplays, anime figures, and a lot of fun! Big place. Very entertaining! Safe location. The parking area is well lit and very spacious. Great place to have fun and to relieve stress! Parking: Very accommodating, accessible and well lit. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp is accessible.

My husband and I came here for the first time last night for our anniversary and had a BLAST! The atmosphere was amazing. The staff and other customers were so fun and welcoming. The decor is so cool. Definitely a place that we plan on spending more time in. The food in my opinion was just ok. I do think that they could improve the food options a bit, but other than that, so far we loved it! We will definitely be back soon

Ive visited this place about five times, and while my experiences have been generally positive, I have some suggestions that could enhance the experience for other patrons as well as my future visits. The staff is friendly and welcoming, but they need help, and these suggestions would also benefit them: 1. **Add more bartenders** - The wait for a drink can sometimes exceed 10 minutes. Quick service is essential in a bar setting to ensure customer satisfaction. 2. **Hire full-time servers** - Dedicated servers for the tables would enhance the experience by allowing patrons to remain seated and enjoy their time without having to get up for drinks. 3. **Add stools at the bar** - The long bar could be more inviting with additional stools, encouraging guests to use the space and reducing overcrowding in other areas. 4. **Ensure all tap beers are stocked and food items dont run out** - Consistently running out of popular items can be frustrating for customers. Keeping all tap beers stocked is crucial. 5. **Hire someone to plan and rearrange the space** - The current layout hinders the flow of the bar. Proper space planning can create a more welcoming environment, improve traffic flow, and enhance the overall experience for patrons. 6. **All my suggestions are well-intended** - I hope these ideas help improve the bar, leading to greater success and better experiences for everyone. A well-designed and efficiently run bar encourages repeat visits and fosters a positive reputation.

Came last night for the first time with a friend for one of her friends birthday. Place has a nice set up and nice atmosphere. All the bartenders seemed chill and the bouncer as well. Didnt try any food and only had a couple sips of a drink, so cant talk to much about that.

My husband and I drove a hour away just for the manager to be rude at us since the minute we walked in .We came to celebrate our friends birthday. The minute we walk in he said , no drinks allowed , not even a hi or nothing lol????. It was a matcha tea not a big deal . He rather loose customers than letting people in with a matcha tea or a soft drink .. I am the driver and I am not supposed to be drinking . This is ridiculous!!! No wonder why it was only a few people in there .

I was so excited to go. I had this saved for a few months. This place was great the drinks were named after anime quotes. They were good & the bartenders were kind and helpful in explaining some of the drinks there. KARAOKE was so much fun! I had a blast and will go back. My husband had been wanting to come out here so we decided to give it a try, the atmosphere is cool and fun but the service is terribly slow. I saw 3 employees working (two bartenders and one serving the tables) we went up to the bar as soon as we got there to ask for drinks, not one bartender greeted us or let us know that they d be with us..we stood there watching them take everyone else s orders, we probably stood there for 20mins until I finally decided to say something after seeing a bartender take someone else s order who got there wayyyy after us. Bartender ignored us and waved at the server to help us instead.. (not sure why if we were at the bar) server apologized and took our drink order. We waited another 20mins and no drinks yet.. I saw our drinks behind the bartenders just sitting there waiting to be grabbed and given to us but nothing until server came back and saw our drinks and gave them to us.. at this point I was annoyed. This bar isn t even packed for them to be so slow at the bar. I ve been to crowded pack bars and even then I only wait about 5mins for our drinks. Anyways we went to find a table to watch people do karaoke, server came and asked if we needed another drink, which my husband did so he placed another order of the same drink.. took another 20mins to get yet again.. my husband decided to get up and just go buy a couple white claws at the bar to prevent waiting so long just to be given our drinks. Once again it s a cool interesting bar but with how slow the service was I wouldn t want to come back again.

This place is amazing. If you like anime and have anywhere from a little to a lot of nerd in you, this is the place to be. The food is top notch. Comes with sauces you dont find anywhere else. The Chicken strips and Tempura shrimp are HUGE. Every dish comes with an orchid blossom, which I think is classy as _____. Everyone working there always seems to be in a good mood and happy to help get you what you want. The atmosphere is the best, though. Not just everyone working there. EVERYONE there always seems happy and quick to start up a conversation if they hear you talking about an anime theyve seen. Anime figurines and life-size uhh statues(?) and original cels. Limited edition items and really cool posters and banners. Lots of customers and workers come in cosplay, too. Very cool. The Karaoke is... well... karaoke, and some singers are hit or miss, but everyone has fun with it. At the opposite side of the bar from the karaoke is where you can play different fighting games like Mortal Kombat on a MASSIVE screen on the wall of the bar. I never asked the dimensions, but your 70 inch TV could fit in the bottom left quadrant of this screen with room to spare. Very fun place. Good people. Good times. 10/10.

I think this bar has a lot of potential but it s lacking in certain important places. And I ve worked in the bar/nightlife industry for 10+ years so I m not blowing hot air. But I truly think you all should take time to train bartenders better to learn the menu and better at faster execution and maybe rework the drink menu. The drinks look nice but aren t tasty and seem to have just whatever mixed together. I feel like yall should really play into the anime theme with drinks and seasonal cocktails based on the events you have. And also think about having a dance night every week or so. But definitely has potential!

The management in this place needs work! We arrived at 7pm 1 hour after they opened. There were no servers at work. The bar staff were making drinks atva sloths pace. Our bartender was new, which was fine. He was looking at a recipe for a basic margarita that took him so long to make and tasted like trash. We put the drinks back on the bar and left to go to the signature bar in Richmond. The food and service were perfect. Will probably never return to this bar!!

This has been my go to spot after a long week of work. I enjoy the atmosphere since Im part of the target audience. Travis, who manages the open video game area in the back, is an awesome host. The place looks really nice but I would not come here again. Our glass of wine was $15 each. Way over priced. Bartenders didn t know what they were doing, poorly trained. When we got there they were taking down their Christmas tree. They could have done before they opened the store or done that earlier in the day but they decided to do in their prime time. It just needs to be better managed and train their staff better too.

Im going to disclose this very bluntly. I am not pleased at all with this establishment. I am not happy with the quality of atmosphere I was given this weekend. I came to this particular place to enjoy my Saturday night. I was here in our typical First Saturday of every month to hang out with fellow Fursuiting Fans and I am not pleased with the owners wife pulling me aside as the leader of the group to state to me that I am making excuses for not patronizing the bar when not even listening to me that I was there to assist the other Fursuiters, and had already ordered and eaten here prior. All of this when I noticed we had numerous Fursuiters with health risks of overheating and dehydration, so I approached the staff to get a pitcher of water for the fellow individuals in their suits. I wanted to prevent anyone from overheating and potentially other threatening life-threatening situations. I additionally cannot drink alcohol due to a health condition so it was unfair to pressure me into doing so. Our group had obviously been contributing to the bar and other commodities, and it angers me the owners wife would be so belligerent towards me for trying to make sure our guests were hydrated and safe, all because she valued us patronizing the bar over listening to a genuine plea for assistance in making sure these guests were safe. It displeased me at the disrespect I received for being blunt that I had to explain that her perception of the situation was inaccurate. If the store owner himself had the decency and respect to approach me, maybe then I would have a bit more credibility to give this establishment. For now I remain unfazed and unrequited in this matter. I was kind and polite and even did my best to be respectful to the other guest and pedestrians. This place has a lot of potential, they just havent gotten it all there yet. I had to wait for my first drink for 30 minutes, waited for my food for 50 minutes, got my second drink faster, but it didnt taste as good as my first one (I ordered the same drink twice). Karaoke was super to start at 9:45p that night, they didnt start getting set up for that until after 10:15p. The decor and the vibe is nice. I love the feel inside and thats what made me give a 3 star instead of a lower one. Im a huge anime fan, so I would like to see this place do better and thrive! I might try again later and see if it gets any better.

The bartenders are slower than molasses and unless youre from a certain culture with a certain set of assets, you better hope there isnt a line. The drinks are way over priced. Went here for my boyfriends birthday it was super cool and chill. I personally felt like the drinks were a little expensive mostly $10 and up but then again everything is going in price. They did karaoke at 10pm and it was a vibe mixed music of course but it was fun and funny and totally an enjoyable relaxing place. Loved to see it get pretty full towards the end of the night. Definitely give this place a try. Only downside for me was I think they may have freshly painted and that smell was Definitely there.

So, i have wanted to come here since they opened but Im not really a bar fly and while i LOVE Karioke I havent come.. We were invited by friends for the One Piece premiere episode. My only complaint is the way they ran the open bar. Having an open bar until 7:30 when the premiere started was wonderful except they let people sit at the bar so people sitting there kept getting served, I was in line 39 min and people at the bar were served multiple times while I waited. That being said, they do not stintch on the alcohol. I NEVER get tipsy, even if Im trying and I got tipsy here. I will definitely be back, my only complaint is they need to do the open bar better and not allow bar seating during open bar so that everyone gets to get a drink

Friendly atmosphere and welcoming crowd, karaoke on the weekend is great since theres no judgment. Trivia on weekdays with the newest episodes of the anime season is a fun way to stay caught up on each show. Great drinks, they can make just about everything, and the staff are all really cool! First time at Amine Bar, and I did not realize it was a karaoke bar! Everyone is so supportive of people up there singing and customers before and or after singing to TIP YOUR BARTENDER!! The atmosphere is so friendly, I really enjoyed myself. The food is good only 3 options and for the life of me I only know what I ordered which was popcorn chicken. I asked for a fruity drink, and the bartender made me some anime drink that was cute and tasted good. I look forward to another visit. Awesome place. VERY cool atmosphere. Friday Saturday and Sundays have karaoke with Nate as KJ. They also have watch parties for new animes. The popcorn chicken and fries were really good. The drinks are very unique but even if you arent ordering off the specialty menu they can make pretty much anything you would like. Mickey is excellent at crafting drinks and very personable as well he makes you feel at ease. No matter if its the first time or 15th time being here you always feel welcomed. The gentlemen who works the door Batman always makes it feel like a safe atmosphere as well. Everyone who works here makes you experience unique!

Despite the lack of atmosphere and oddly empty vibe on a Saturday night, Sierra is a great bartender and had fun chatting with her. The bar is filled with anime themed decoras well and features a large LED wall panel playing anime, something anime fans are sure to enjoy. There is karaoke in the back of the bar as well. Not sure how I feel about spending $15 on cocktails, even though I bought a bottle of soju for $23, which is also quite steep.

Ok honestly all of the low reviews y all are some terrible people and probably never worked food service/or at a bar before. You try making brand new drinks RIGHT after a place opens and you JUST got hired. Anyways this place is so cool the staff is extremely friendly and does its best to provide a good service. Maybe if y all had more patience you wouldn t have had a bad time lol. ONE criticism I have is perhaps have more than My Hero Academia as the main anime they play. Maybe show cowboy bebop, mob psycho, Serial Experiments Lain or Berserk (1997). And also play the anime amvs at a lower level so ppl can hear the bartenders better! I came for Halloween as Misato for the costume contest and it was the most fun Halloween I had in awhile. But yeah this place is awesome and if it s not for you idk go to pop fancy or something LMAO

This place will not survive. The stunning aesthetics and atmosphere is the only reason why I would give an additional star. I came here multiple times, and received the same subpar service each time. Not only were the drinks overly sweet and overpriced, but the food experience was not good as well. I ordered both the fries and the popcorn chicken and it took approx. 40 minutes for my order to be fulfilled. Same with drinks - there should be no reason why drinks should take 15 minutes to make when there are no customers. I also ordered a soda, which costed $5 on draft and they do not do refills without charging... Please provide proper training to these bartenders on how to be more attentive and engaging to patrons. If I wanted Ore-Ida fries and frozen chicken nuggets, I would have bought some next door at Kroger instead of paying $18 for the snacks. If they need to charge these prices to stay in business, they are probably better off shutting down. Not trying to inflict any harm to the business, but this is just my experience and honest opinion.

The bar needs a whole lot of work. While the decor and overall theme of the bar was excellent, the identity of what kind of bar this is meant to be is very skewed. The music was basically the same 5 AMVs on loop, playing way too loud like it was a nightclub, but with the lounge area, it just didnt allow for much conversations with other patrons. The bartenders were nice and in lovely cosplay, but their drink service was very slow, almost as if they hired cosplayers to bartend instead of hiring bartenders who cosplay. The drinks tasted nice, but seemed a little weak and not near worth the $15 price. The food wasnt worth it either. The anime fries were just frozen grocery store fries with minimal seasoning, and ketchup and mayo, not worth $6. There was a host there doing MHA trivia, but he seemed very abrasive and bashing of others anime choices. If you want to make a bar to draw in anime fans, having a host who mocks you for your anime choices is the very last thing you want. I was very excited to spend my birthday here, but I was there for only an hour and didnt want to stay longer. Things need to change or yall wont last very long

The atmosphere was great here! Loved the decor and the crowd! Hearing people belt it out for karaoke was great. However, that s where it stops. For drinks and food, it s definitely in the steep end of things. $15 for their signature drinks, $9-$11 for basic mixed drinks (margaritas), and $7-9 for beers. Margarita was okay and beer came in a chilled glass (a bonus). Food was $7-$11 roughly. Food is just gyoza (which were good and came with 5), fries (basic crinkle cut in a bowl with ketchup and mayo), and popcorn chicken that I didn t try. Now the speed of getting your drink is another story. I ordered a margarita and waited 20 minutes for it. Take what you want from that. Another thing was the AMVs. The same 4 AMVs played over and over again. It drives you insane. In all, if you are willing to spend extra money for okay drinks and okay food and wait for a good amount of time while listening to the same songs on repeat just for a vibe, then good for you.

I came in on a Wednesday night and I had an amazing time! The bartender Sierra was so interesting & so cute. I give this place a rating of 5 stars specifically because of her customer service! First off, I want to say that the atmosphere is absolutely amazing! The decor is everything I hoped it would be, and you can watch whatever they have showing on the big screens as you enjoy yourself. My recommendations would be that drinks and food come out a lot faster than it did. We waited over 20 minutes at least and we were the only ones there. I also would recommend that staff interact more with their customers or at least ask them if there s anything they need. We were there for two hours and nobody came to check on us or offer anything additional. I think with these recommendations, this would have been a five-star experience and I see a lot of potential!

I was here late yesterday and I couldn t believe the wondrous atmosphere this bar has. It s certainly one of a kind. When you couple this fact with them having karaoke and the things they are planning to do, based on my conversation with the manager (really cool guy by the way), this bar will be untouchable. I mean they serve amazing specialty craft cocktails and serve traditional ones correctly for crying out loud. I could literally sleep here peacefully. Pretty cool concept in the burbs of Sugarland. Johnathan, our bartender was a pretty cool cat and gave pretty good service. I usually give 5 star reviews because I ve been in industry myself and I know how reviews matter. Given all the facts, I give exception to this very specific bar(I have traversed over 60 countries and all 7 continents and visited literally thousands of bars). Everything was going fine until the manger (Mickey, in a condescending and hostile way) told us to put the lid back onto a candy jar at the bar. He then told us to respect the rules of the bar by putting the lid back. Bruh, I m patronizing this place and you are serving me; why would I need to put a lid back on a jar. (There were no written rules!!!). On top of that, why would you even put a lid on the jar if it s for the patrons!!! All on all, I hope John and Denise are reading this. This place has so much potential, but you lost a potential regular by a super rude manager. You can run your daily sales report and run my name with whatever sales that you had today from my tab, you could easily multiply this twice a week.

Having only 3 bartenders for the grand opening is ignorant. It took over 30 minutes to get a bartenders attention. I overheard a bartender saying they are running low on ingredients for drinks. As one bartender poured half a shot in my drink and charged me $14 for it. She was also very rude. No menus, so that was annoying. QR codes could easily solve that. Anime music playing on one side of the room and karaoke on the other. That was very annoying. I suggest having a karaoke night. Instead of having different things playing at the same time. The location is also an inconvenience. People tend to bar hop and The Anime Bar is in Sugar Land. So driving all the way out there to be disappointed was a major let down. My friends and I left after one hour to drive 30 minutes downtown to another bar. At least downtown you have the option to jump to different bars. I love anime and it s cool being surrounded by others who also enjoy that. So I can understand why The Anime Bar picked another location instead of downtown. But maybe Bellaire would of been a nice choice instead. Because it s either The Anime Bar is so great people plan to stay the whole night there or there s other things close by so people can hop. I love the concept though. And the establishment has nice decor. I liked all the statues. The bar was very nicely done. The Gundam theme was cool. I enjoyed the environment. I would not recommend coming here. It s way to out of your way. You can not bar hop. The drinks are over priced. They run out of food fast. They have a small staff so orders are completed slow. I want to go back and change my review but The anime bar left a very poor taste in my mouth. I don t want to risk the disappointment again. The drive is just not worth.

I really love the idea behind this bar. A little overpriced (but I mean it s to be expected) the decor was amazing. I do agree with other reviewers that there could be improvements. 1.) Even if it s just printed regular menus until they work on getting better ones, it would help a ton. Looking at a menu from one of the bartenders phone is noooot that great to be honest. 2.) Karaoke I love how they included this but to continuously push people to sing is off putting. I really do feel it could have been it s own room and have people go in there if they wanted to. While the other half just has music to listen to and chill without being pressured to go up and sing or even just to play music if no one wants to go up instead of just keeping it quiet. 3.) Hopefully in the future they have nights dedicated for certain events and maybe a small area for merch? I know they just opened but I m hoping they listen to the feedback they are receiving and make some changes as I do want to see them succeed.

First of all I d like to say the ambiance and decor they chose was amazing. The big statues of the Gundam, Sonic, and DBZ characters were great. The music they played by the entrance side of the bar was good. Drinks looked fun and interesting. Now the not so great. The karaoke side was obnoxious to say the least. It killed the atmosphere. You can t have one side with karaoke and one without because it clashes and really badly too. The bar only had 3 BARTENDERS. On opening night. They knew it would be busy and they only had 3. Not only was it 3 they were slow. The lady my friends and I got was slow and rude. Kept on looking at us and others who were waiting to get a drink and just kept attending people who were walking up not waiting. Also she kept making chatter with people and pouring/mixing drinks so slow which when you are so busy and have people waiting that s just unacceptable. No menus anywhere to be seen. Should ve had at least QR code handouts or at each table. How hard is it to do that? Overall poor service. Is driving past downtown just to go to this bar worth it? No. If you wanna see the decor sure but I d recommend going downtown after to bars that are faster and we ll prepared.

Interesting atmosphere, but there were so many problems on opening day. Took me 45 minutes to get a Lone Star on draft and a rum and coke with Bicardi. It was $18 dollars for that. After a 45 minute wait. We all left and went to another bar after that. Beyond that, there s a ridiculous amount of noise happening. There were multiple songs playing over each other during karaoke for some reason. Even without karaoke, you won t be able to hear each other without shouting. It s got cool visual presentation, I can t deny that. It s the only reason I gave it 2 stars. But I would never pick this as a place to go drink with my friends. Ive never felt so compelled to write a review on an establishment until I walked out of this bar. It took 30 minutes to get a beer poured by two clueless bartenders serving a line with eight people in it. I asked for a menu and was given brutally unclear choices on only 3 drinks made to represent some statues on the fully stocked bar wall. In every corner of the bar, theres different songs playing and screens flashing all while some kid is bombing Karaoke. Didnt smell as bad as I thought it would...which was definitely a +1 for the air conditioning system. It was a hilarious night and I cant thank The Anime Bar for such a horrendously unforgettable experience. Sell me the display Yamaha motorcycle in exchange for $$$ that you should spend on a bar consultant. Theres nothing that stands out to me on why anyone would want to come back to this establishment.

Its their 2nd day of opening so definitely take this review with that in mind. Give them the benefit of the doubt. That having said, there are a lot of opportunities for this place to improve on. We went yesterday, a Sunday night around 8:30pm. The place is very spacious, with ample seating and open tables. The bar looked full, but we were able to find a seat after a short wait. After about 15 minutes, we were still not greeted. I had to get up and be aggressive in lining up and getting a bartenders attention. There were a lot of people standing around behind the bar, seemingly doing nothing and looking slightly lost. People approached them and found out that they werent bartenders because they werent TABC certified. Thats understandable, but I would not loiter around in the bar area because youre going to get flagged down for orders. They were however, extremely attentive to bussing tables. This isnt a bad thing, but it did feel like they could allocate their resources better. It also didnt seem like the owners were TABC certified either as they were also sitting around and observing and not really doing much. There are no cocktail menus there. The website is also not up yet either. There were only 2 bartenders there that could serve drinks. Unfortunately they were painstakingly slow at making them, and kept getting distracted. It took about 20 minutes to make about 4 drinks, which went to other customers that also looked like they were getting impatient. This wasnt limited to cocktails as there was a woman that only wanted 3 cans of beer. Still took a good 15 minutes for the bartender to get it out of the fridge for her. The bartenders there seem to operate based on accuracy and quality, which I appreciate, but is unfortunately not appropriate for this fast paced environment. If I may suggest, change up the method of making the drinks from accuracy to speed. Its okay to hastily prepare a drink (Toki highball) without the need to put ice cubes one by one into a tall glass with tongs. Grab a scoop and have at it. Its also perfectly fine to make a whiskey sour without the 3 drops of bitters and forming hearts with it (see attached picture). They use eggs there, which is a HUGE plus already for whiskey sours. Skip the art, and it will help with pushing out drinks faster. The place is very well furnished with lots of screens everywhere, including a giant one. However, it felt like a wasted opportunity as the owner kept trying to show anime fight amv on YT instead of streaming full episodes of anime. The place already has music going, and having this on at the same time created a bad mix of 1 track conflicting with a 2nd track playing. It would be nice if they were to host a 12 episode marathon every week of something different to attract people instead of letting it go to waste on random amv videos on YT that anyone can google. Overall, Im willing to give them more chances as it is just the 2nd day that the place is open. There are definitely kinks to work out. The place has potential, but needs time to make that all happen.
