Looked this place up online, it looked super exciting with great food. Drive past parking lot is ALWAYS full. Stopped by with a friend and wanted into pure segregation. The looked my friend and I received being two young black women could have started a race war. It was CLEAR we did not belong. Staff came by and let us know that the kitchen was closed and that the bar was the only option. I think that was God telling me to go home. I felt the hate, sad that I live in the neighborhood down the street. It was HARD for them to pretend they were not racist. I won t EVER return.

The BOUDIN BALLS were amazing! Crunchy shell, spicy filling, you can see the veggies and meat in them. The sauce was hiding my first one, but enjoyed it with the rest of them. Very filling, super delicious! Placed a to-go order and it was ready just as I walked in to pickup.

Been here for years and just found this gem. For years, I ve been looking for true Cajun food, and this is the closest it gets, spot on. I m originally from Lake Arthur, La, and you only get gumbo like this in Cajun country, and the competition here locally isn t even close. I ordered a little bit of everything, but I Really suggest the crawfish pistolette; Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, and red beans and rice.

Went to Cormier s because Pork Chop night was recommended by a good friend. The Pork Chop was amazing. The flavor on the Chop was as good as Perry s. The Black Eyed Pees and the Dirty Rice was outstanding. I would put his Gumbo up against anybody s. Having lived in South Louisiana I grew up on good gumbo. Try Cormier s you won t be disappointed.

If zero stars was an option that would ha e been selected. Theyre using Swai in place of actual Catfish. My wife returned the food, seeking a refund. One of the employees got in her face and threaten to call the cops on her. Fraudulent food and customer service. Would not recommend.

I eat alot of Cajun food and this place is great! I m super picky about my gumbo and thought theirs was great. Nice dark roux and plenty of chicken and sausage. The Cajun Chicken Pasta could have been seasoned a bit more, but there was Cajun seasoning at the table so wasn t a huge deal. The Cajun Boiled Shrimp had plenty of spice and cooked perfectly. The cocktail sauce even was amazing! Definitely recommend The Mitch. Such great flavor and so much food! Parking was not an issue large common parking lot. No wait when we went. Service good. We sat at a bar height table and it was on the small side for a party of 6.

Went out tonight with my husband and kids for Father s Day. It was a first time for us to eat here. The food was excellent, we had to wait a bit for a table, ( 6 pm on a Sunday)but it was definitely worth the wait. We will definitely be returning! Next time we will be going for breakfast. Their breakfast menu looked delicious.

Absolutely amazing experience. I had the shrimp and grits and it was cooked to perfection with a creamy red like sauce on top of grits along with grilled shrimp . I tasted the bread pudding and had I not been full from the main course I would have definitely ordered a piece. The customer service was excellent and welcoming. This was the 2nd visit, and both times the servers were nice, but the service is terrible.They need Better management, because it seems to be short staffed. Took way too long just to get a drink order, then even longer just to receive your drinks, and definitely don t expect another drink unless you flag them down to ask for one. They never clear your table, and I didn t receive everything I ordered, and they forgot my husbands order all together. The food is good, they just really need some sort of management in there, and much more help.

I m reviewing in response to the last review by Lisaa we were literally sitting next to her table and overheard everything that transpired. She and her husband openly talked about not having money to order the kids (2 young boys) food. They ordered food and water for themselves. Server came by multiple times with a pitcher of water, the woman never touched her water, therefore, never needing a refill. Server was very attentive to them. The lady said she found metal in her food after almost finishing it. most likely foil from cooking. She told the server who went to talk to the cooks about what it could be. Server then came back and said they weren t sure what it came from but she would take the meal off of the bill. She came with the bill and again apologized for the metal piece. The man pulled a single $20 bill from his pocket, probably all he had to spend on the meal of a club sandwich and the shrimp entree, and gave it to the server, getting back a few dollars. He put them in his pocket and didn t leave a tip. The whole time I could see the lady s phone as she left s nasty review. The couple was very rude to the server, not the other way around. It s unfortunate that people like that get an open forum to try to ruin a business on scams and lies.

We got here and there was only a few tables. We ordered quick, and when my boiled shrimp arrived it had a metal shaving in it. Server didnt seem to care. I asked for a manager and the server said she is the gm. For her being the gm she was extremely rude, never got a refill on my water, and we had to ask her to take the shrimp off. and the metal literally cut my tongue and was sticking out of it. Get ready to loosen the button on your pants or wear elastic waistband. The portions are YUUUGE. The amount of food will match the price and you can likely split one entree between two adults. This place also has great sweet tea which is a requirement of mine for repeat business. The service is great. there are slot machines and video games as well. Just had an awkward experience here. I came in and was seated at the bar. One of the bartenders asked if I wanted a drink and I ordered an iced tea. She disappeared. Another bartender asked if I had been helped. I was ready to order my food but he too walked away. It was like I was a ghost. After 15 minutes of being ignored I got up and walked out and went next door to the sports bar where I was acknowledged and welcomed. DO NOT come here unless you want to be ignored. I dont recommend anyone waste their time here.

I heard a lot of good things about this place. I decided to stop in. Only seating available was on the patio, it was PACKED. So my hopes were high. I sat down and waited at least 10 minutes before anyone came to even offer a drink. I had looked over the menu and knew basically what I wanted. I did ask if she could confirm if the the fish was American catfish or Swai. I do not like the taste and texture of Swai. I ordered my drink and she left. She was gone about 15 minutes and came back with my drink and said the kitchen said ITS CATFISH !!! AT this point I knew better than to ask any other questions. I ordered the crab cake over dirty rice and boudin links. Boudin came out and was presented well. The flavor just wasn t there. It was bland and didn t say fresh or authentic to me. The crab cake took awhile to come out. I took one bite and was done with this place. The crab cake was burnt so bad, all I could taste was char. Of course it was dry and I couldn t tell you what the flavor was past the char. The server was rude, the kitchen was poor in preparation and overall a bad experience.

Love the shrimp Platter with their cream sauce and the gumbo is pretty tasty too ~ and I even like their potato salad and I havent eaten potato salad in over 20 years (my moms was the only one I liked ~ RIP Mom). The food over all is worth coming in for. But the establishment only caters to their regulars or folks at the bar. Np greeting or friendly conversations from the heavy set guy who seems to be the owner or manager. He only checks in at tables with small kids or his people whom seem like regular folks since he joins their table and shake hands before and after . The service could use help! I dont need to be overwhelmed by my waitress, however I should not also have to hunt her down only for her to come refill a drink after 20 mins of waiting. I enjoy the food. My husband & I have been going here for yrs as it s one of our favorites. The Catfish Mardi Gras is out of this world! Other favorites are crawfish boil, shrimp, crab, crab cakes are packed w crab, Cajun bread pudding to die for, breakfast until 2 is also fantastic. It s a crazy busy place & servers try to keep up as best as possible so give em a little break and patience. We have our favorites like Robbie the mgr, Ruth server. Their jobs are tough and they have turnover due to the pace being fast and hard but trust me the wait is worth it. I hold my husband I wish they d take out all the tables during crawfish season & put in picnic tables end to end and shared space on them. I think it would make for a fun way to dine within our community and people would visit more. And put chairs n tables on sidewalks and expand patio. He ll, expand the entire restaurant please! But most of ALL I SO wish they could handle doing Uber Eats!! Oh and best and I mean best authentic Dirty rice and PoBoy bread is also deliciously authentic! I have never bothered to do a review but the way my daughter and I were treated was too vagrant. We stopped by to eat sat on the patio but the wind was higher than we expected so we asked to sit inside. The set up on the table was blown over and another party helped us pick it up. THEY were able to get a table inside we were told it wasn t possible. How? Why? It was empty seats inside? I really can not appreciate being treated that way. Even if we had to wait I was ok with that but they flat out said no and the manager had already advised no one outside could come inside. It was just us African Americans left outside SO .

The food here is phenomenal, they really hit it out of the park. But I m writing this review because we just had a server named Arianna with curly hair, she was absolutely terrible. We ve been coming here for about a year now, 3-4x per month. Usually service is pretty good but Arianna didn t check on us once. We didn t even have silverware for the first 20 minutes of having our food, she just stayed in the back. We waited in 15-20 minute increments to be able to ask for refills or additional orders. Every other server was attentive to their tables throughout the night but she was by the bar chatting with other employees. We ended up having to get up and ask another employee for what we needed. We still tipped because we aren t the type to stiff servers but honestly the host deserved that tip more than she did. I hope this message reaches her so she can improve.

We found this place right nearby our subdivision. To us, it is super convenient. We usually go there in the early evening and never have to wait long for a table. They have daily specials that are set at a very reasonable price. Foods are great! I like the Jambalaya most. Servers are great; service and foods come rapidly. Even the drinks have daily special. My husband and I have visited this establishment twice. The second time we visited on the evening of 10/27/2023, the young inexperienced hostess told us that we would have to sit at the bar. She said she was unable to sit two customers at a table top with 4 or 6 chairs. Interestingly, the place was packed with only two large tables available for seating. The hostess had zero personalty, dressed satanic, and she was hinged-up with piercings like she had just stepped off the stage from playing at a live rock & roll concert. I asked if she could locate a table for us and she said you ll have to sit at the bar. Whoaa .very unprofessional! The food was just sub par! My hubby had a philly cheese steak sandwich and I had six bourbon boneless chicken wings. Our first visit admittedly was more service oriented and we had an attentive waitress. The attitude at this establishment was more concerned about serving the regular drinkers and discussing attendance with partygoers after hours versus servicing their customers. It is probably not a healthy environment for thriving well mannered children. Parking: Difficult to locate a parking spot due to drinking crowds.

Husband & I popped in for Saturday lunch date. Restaurant was about 50% full and every guest looked like they were enjoying their visit. Our server was EXCELLENT! Sorry I didnt catch her name Ordered a cup of chicken &sausage gunbo, it was ok. Taste was heavily roux-y, and needed more flavor. Also had crawfish etoufee which was good, more tomato taste than Im used to, but still good. Crab cakes were a miss for me, husband said they were ok. Really nice place for Cajun seafood. They have a really big menu and what I liked is that they serve breakfast until 2 pm. I had the shrimp po boy and it was really good, they cooked the shrimp blackened and then they soak them in a creole creamy sauce. They only had to servers and and of them also took charge of the bar, so the service seemed slow but both of them worked fast and very nice.

This has become our go to place for breakfast and brunch. Especially with our little girls who both love the chocolate and blueberry pancakes. Never fails that we get into a friendly conversation with someone there because that is just the kind of place it is. Everyone is friendly and they have good people making good food. By the way, I had the best boiled crawfish here earlier this year and took what was leftover, peeled them, and made Etouffee. They were seasoned that my wife from Chicago was able to make it for the first time and it turn out better than my moms damn near. My 6 year old still talks about eating crawfish there and how much she loved it. I have also had seafood, either chicken fried chicken or steak(cant remember), crab cake benedict, and some other items and everything has been good. Im an Opelousas kid, and they definitely got some Louisiana folks behind this menu. Parking: Easy to get in and out, no issues with parking. Kid-friendliness: My girls love this place, good options for kids at a really good price. Big portions as well.

Love this place! The food is always amazing. The shrimp and grits are a favorite and the funnel cake fries I have to get every time I go. Margaritas are on point! Oh and Sherri, a server there is absolutely fantastic! Nice covered outdoor area too when it s cool enough outside. If it were closer to my home, I d eat there several times a week lol

Good food, good service. Went for breakfast. Really enjoyed the biscuits and sausage gravy. Perfectly done with good biscuits. I added an optional egg sunny side on top. Great flavor and portion.

Food was bland but glad they had a Cajun seasoning to give it more flavor. Once that was added the food was delicious. Boiled shrimp was cooked well and good flavor and heat. Parking: The restaurant had a few spaces designated spaces for customers.

Finally decided to try this place and I am glad we did. Some of the best wings Ive had in quite some time. The service was great, too. My husband had the crawfish mac n cheese which was super tasty as well. Cant wait to come back and try more of the menu.

I like to hit this spot after work. The atmosphere isnt anything to write home about, but they have a decent beer selection, great hurricanes, and the food never disappoints. This side of spring has a lack of good restaurants. This place doesnt look like much, but so worth your time. I love to stop in for a quick drink and a snack, try it out.

The food is definitely good! I would definitely recommend trying if you are in the area! I will be back to try some more! The crab cake wasn t dry and had a good flavor! And the dirty rice and blackened shrimp was also delicious with the cream sauce. I didn t add the lemon butter caper sauce because I don t like capers or lemon. I thought it was perfect with just the cream sauce. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was cooked well and juicy. My husband also got the garlic parm fries and they were very tasty. Solid 4/5 come try!

Was super hungry and excited to try this place out walked in and waited a little too long for a server to even ask my son and I if we would like anything to drink .. which never happened because instead they were in a back room talking and looking . First ask for Grace as your server, she is great!!!!!!! Came two days in a row for the Crawfish. OMG, it was flavored inside and out, but the second visit our lips were burning, .... So the first day we ordered the fried shrimp platter and catfish platter and 2 pounds of crawfish. They were all seasoned and tasted great. Day 2 we just ordered the Crawfish and a house salad..... Oh the balsamic vinaigrette was amazing. Both times we saw dishes we want to come back and try. Oh also the alcohol was amazing. They offer a full bar and as long as you know whats in your specialty drinks they can make it. Lastly, they air sporting events except the pay per view fights. Stop and give them a try if you havent already.

This place is a hidden gem!!! They have something here for everyone-delicious Cajun style food, breakfast, sandwiches, hamburgers Tex-Mex, steak, dessert... And everything is good! Im so glad I found this place I will definitely be back! It has a sports bar atmosphere and is very welcoming!

The Tuesday evening manager had a horrible, nasty attitude. The way she spoke to the customer was ridiculously loud and unprofessional. Everyone in the restaurant could hear her, she even said she wanted everyone to hear her. Very disrespectful! Will never go back there.

Food okay, Service okay, Tuesday evening manager was Horrible. We where out on the Patio enjoying our evening and it starting to sprinkle, I asked my friend if she wanted to get our food to go? She said yes, so she asked our waitress for a 2 go box for her Crawfish. I ordered from the menu and today was Tuesday Crawfish special and the waitress said no 2 go boxes on Crawfish, my friend asked for a manager and the manager came out with her order screaming, no 2 go boxes on Crawfish, but I will allow it this time. My friend said well it starting to rain and we need to leave. Manager looking dusty, said I dont care if it starts raining dont ask for a box again if you come here. Friend says okay you have said it 4 times and I heard you. Manager says I am the manager and I can say it as many times as I want too putting on a show. The Tuesday evening Manager was doing the monkey by now, screaming looking like she was crazy, before she left she screamed it out 8 times, saying she wanted everyone to hear her. This place will never get our business again.

This place is quaint, has really good food and the service is quite personable. You may have to wait a little longer than at most other restaurants as this is a smaller outfit, and for the volume they do, it seems like they could use more help. Go when you have time to spare and are not in a hurry.
